Our 2nd stay at The Rookery in 2025 and, guess what, it was even more enjoyable than the first . Hard to believe, I know. In fact some of our group are returning later this year to stay in one of the smaller cottages. Beautiful countryside, lovely well appointed accommodation and the friendliest of owners. I know it’s easy to say but I can’t imagine how anyone could be disappointed.

Fabulous self catering cottage with spacious kitchen and large dining area - perfect for a large family gathering! Lovely garden space for the children to play in, and no shortage of bathrooms with en-suites in every room! Customer service was brilliant, allowing us to arrange a last minute early check in after a family members flight times changed - very appreciated!! My only suggestion would be adding a mirror in the bedroom of 4, as when there was someone in the en-suite there was no mirror for the others to do hair & make up. We stayed at the Dinney two years ago in Garden Cottage which was excellent and on that basis we decided to return. This year, as Garden Cottage was unavailable we booked Duck instead. Sadly, we were disappointed with the standard. The paintwork was marked in places and there were stains on the lounge rug and on the back door mat. Overall the cottage looked tired. The kitchen was ill equipped and had odd numbers of glasses, crockery & glassware. Three adults eating at the dining table (tucked under the stairs) was too cramped.
