On arrival at Godwick, very impressed with the beautiful location of the quaint Shepherds Huts in a row. Parking more than adequate, first impression was excellent.
Double bed was very comfortable, although quite high due to storage underneath. We are used to a king size so a little challenging! Facilities in the Shepherds Hut were excellent, with basic provisions in fridge and cupboards.
However, if staying during a period of wet weather, the hut would benefit from more comfortable indoor chairs as you would not be able to sit outside.
Although we didn't meet with James, the owner, he was very helpful on the phone prior to arrival and it would seem it would be no problem contacting him if the need arose whilst staying there.

We loved our stay in the Norfolk Horn shepherd’s hut. It had everything we needed for a few days away and was beautifully decorated.

Gorgeous setting and a very comfortable night in the cosy Shepherds hut. One of the coldest nights of the year but I didn't notice one bit! I'll be back in the summer it's a hidden delight!

We stayed here whilst attending a wedding at the house - we had to stay for 2 nights minimum which made it quite pricey for what we needed. Cute design, comfy bed and the views from the huts were super relaxing - ideal for a quiet couples break. Functionality wise, there was everything we'd need to stay any time of year.

The drain/waste pipe might need a clean or is limited by design - the shower tray would fill up with water and the toilet was slow to drain which meant not everything would flush down. If we didn't have access to the main house too/were staying for longer this might have been a problem, but otherwise in great condition!

I booked a short break for my partner’s birthday and we had an absolutely wonderful time.
The hut was well equipped and maintained and the location was idyllic. We had a ‘stargazer’ package and cooking marshmallows over a fire pit was a lovely experience.
We will definitely be booking again. We brought back very happy memories of our time at Godwick Hall.
Thank you for an amazing couple of days.

We had a lovely stay at Godwick. Our Shepherd Hut was well kitted out and our view was amazing. We have stayed In huts before and appreciate they are not hotel rooms. We did think the bathroom could be improved by more shelving. The Wi-Fi was not consistent and it kept dropping out. When booking the shepherd hut, there were no details of what the hut provided, ie washing up liquid, loo rolls, towels and toiletries. We felt this would be good to add as we sent emails asking what was provided and would have saved others taking these items with them due to the lack of storage space. In saying all of this we had a lovely time.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a friend's wedding. Lovely accomodation. Would benefit from a toaster as an easy breakfast. Milk was a good touch. Nice hot shower!

We enjoyed a couple of days staying at this well-maintained shepherd's hut. The tour of the site of the medieval village by James was a particular highlight. We couldn't seem to get onto wifi easily (no bad thing perhaps..) However, we took pleasure in watching the local kite and hares, and a deer as we walked across the fields. My only suggestion for making it even better would be a fuller inventory on the website as we ended up bringing a lot of things we didn't need eg tea, coffee, washing-up liquid etc. Overall though would recommend the experience.

We were completely relaxed as soon as we arrived at this dreamy place
Left the worries behind and totally chilled the accommodation was neat and compact providing all the comfort we needed
The owners and their team were so friendly and accommodating they made us feel so welcome
We took the stargazing package it was so worth it
The landscape is stunning the sheep kept us amused and the old ruin was a great little evening walk
Can’t wait to return

We would absolutely stay in the shepherds huts again and would definitely recommend to others looking for short stay accommodation in a beautiful location. Perfect for guests attending an event at Godwick Hall who don’t require a lot of space to get ready!

Great accommodation, Fabulous location. Loved our short stay. Luckily it was a dry couple of days so no problem parking on the grass or accessing the Hut. Would advise anyone who is staying in the Huts to ask if there is a wedding being held ( we stayed on a Wednesday so do not assume!) as we were kept awake until one in the morning. Would go back.

What a fantastic place in a great location!
It had everything that you would need.
Would recommend staying there! We loved it!
Also the tour given by James is also a must as he provided a great knowledge of the lost village.

I was looking for somewhere to stay that was far out in the countryside, solitary, but with a big comfortable bed, hot shower, somewhere to cook. The shepherd huts at godwick hall were perfect. Gorgeous inside, very clean, very well designed.
Comes with plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, tea and coffee, a little milk, kettle, mugs, salt and pepper, washing up liquid and sponge, tea towel, dustpan and brush and a few other things in the kitchen. Towels and shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom.
Shower had great water pressure, lovely and hot, clean and easy to use.
Small but with storage areas under the bed to unpack your stuff.
No stove top but there is a microwave, so just plan what you bring to eat.
There is a fridge but it is super tiny, very little will in there. Great to have it, but you just need to plan what to buy, what you can store etc. Nearest grocery shop is about 5 miles away.
There are a few plug sockets no wifi, but a good phone signal.
There is also an electric heater which was great as I got soaked one day in the rain and didn't want to use the log fire to try and dry my clothes and shoes!
The view from the front is gorgeous. I had the doors open every evening to be able to watch the sky.
It is fantastically quiet and peaceful.
You are close to the other 2 shepherds huts, they're spaced about 10 meters apart, but I heard no noise from my neighbours and there is a little fencing between the huts, just enough to avoid seeing each other, so you feel more separate which I really appreciated.
I stayed here for a cycling holiday and visited a few lovely places - Castle Acre, Wells on the sea, Great Massingham, all picturesque and interesting.
Some form of transport is going to be needed I expect, especially to get there. Its a beautiful place to walk but there isn't much to do within walking distance except walking.
The shepherds are excellent value for money. Beautiful, well equipped, a bit luxurious, in a gorgeous location and self catering they are an excellent price. I highly recommend them.
