We stayed over New Year the property was just perfect , three generous double bed rooms, two bathrooms. Te kitchen is well stocked with crockery and glasses. The living are is well sized . The Tor Vale Tap is on the doorstep and this a great place . The property is located 3 mins walk from the train station, we had a trip into Manchester.. The surrounding area is beautiful the river and the weir and plenty of accessible footpaths straight out of the door.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, the suite was lovely and cosy with brick walls and windows with views of the stunning grounds. It feels like stepping into its own little world. The restaurant was great as well! Thanks for a lovely well needed rest :)
I stayed for week early new year when it was icy and snow on the ground. This was my second stay after more than ten years. The heating was on constantly, everything snug as a bug. They gritted the steep road to the house and the entrance path so I wouldn't slip. There's even a tap room just down the hill. The Rock pub around the corner has excellent beer but weren't serving food. The language used by a couple of locals was quite industrial however. There's an excellent cafe with superb coffee on the bridge.
