This is a lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting. We were a group of 17, and had plenty of room for relaxing together inside the property and outside close to the pool. The property is well equipped and the owners live next door and were helpful when anything was needed. My only criticism would be that having paid the supplement for the pool it was still quite cold after the initial raised temperature following overnight heating. Some day time heating would have been good to make the pool temperature better for the day. Despite this I would thoroughly recommend this place. We would happily return except for the fact our group is growing and we will be too big a number next year.

a real treasure, miles from the hustle & bustle of life. stress just melts away sitting on the veranda taking in the beautiful natural views. The facilities were excellent; warm pool great for all ages, fabulous hot tub housed in a little cabin, spacious veranda with plenty of seating, and a huge BBQ. the kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots and pans to feed the many. bedrooms were spacious and gorgeous bathrooms. if there is plenty of you to get away, this is the place. short 1-hour drive to local seaside Aberystwyth, again an untouched spot, lovely walk along the prom to Wales first pier (delicious fish & chips cooked to order. A treat is to book the steam railway ride from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge Falls (3 hour return journey) across the beauty of mid-wales - we loved it!

We had a great holiday. There were 16 of us. Plenty of room, lots of crockery and cooking implements, very clean. Great weather. Swimming pool a great asset. Watch for the speed bump in the farmyard!!

My family and I had a very pleasant stay at Cae Madog Barn this past week. The place was very clean and cosy, well equipped and had all the amenities we required. In total there were 13 of us staying together and the barn is split in a way where each of our families were able to have our own privacy, with the variety of rooms available, as well as being able to come together in the lounge, kitchen and dining space to spend quality time together. We really enjoyed using all the facilities at the barn; especially the swimming pool, hot tub and games room. The view from the barn was spectacular and our family delighted in spending mornings and evenings on the deck eating breakfast, or drinking tea together. There are a couple of beautiful nature walks in and around the area and the Aberdovey beach a 20 minute drive away, which was also very lovely. We all had a very relaxing stay and are very thankful to Simon and Gemma, who were really friendly and attentive to our needs. We would all highly recommend Cae Madog to anyone who is looking for a peaceful countryside getaway and we would definitely love to go back again soon as well!

We had arranged for a large family get together and needed somewhere big enough for us all and Cae Madog did not disappoint as our summer break venue. All the separate spaces and bedrooms accommodated everyone throughout the week. Whilst the weather was unexpectedly fresh and overcast, we made good use of the pool and hot-tub. Gemma was on hand when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. Great property with loads to do without having to leave the barn. It was far away from civilisation to fully appreciate the Welsh countryside and yet close enough to beaches, shops and walks for days out. Great property, great location and highly recommended.

Apologies that, due to insurance restrictions, you were unable to charge your electric vehicle. It does state on the website that this facility is currently unavailable, although we are waiting for a charger to be installed and hope it will be available to guests in the very near future.
We don't include towels as standard as, since Covid, many people prefer to bring their own, although they can be made available if guests have forgotten to bring them.
We would like to thank you for leaving the Barn in such good order and for being such lovely guests, and we would be delighted to welcome you again in the future.

We stayed at Cae Madog Barn last weekend and it was honestly perfect (I’ve only put a 4 down for location because it is a bit out of the way but it’s also perfect for those looking for that). The views are incredible, the house itself was perfectly clean, the log fire was put on ready for our arrival as well as some welcome treats left for us in the kitchen. Honestly such a gorgeous property. We went for a day out to Aberystwyth so although it might be a bit out of the way, you can still go out and about, there’s a local taxi business that we used and we arranged a mini bus because there were so many of us and it was so handy. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this property time and time again. Thank you so much!!

Lovely cottage, plenty of room for everyone. Really attentive owners had no issues at all. When we needed more logs for the fire Simon instantly replaced them. Lovely cosy cottage enough space for anyone who wanted a bit of alone time as well. Some of our party had forgotten a few things and left them behind after our stay which were posted out to us with no charge (now that's great customer service!) and very much appreciated. Would highly recommend. As a side note if your ever looking to sell Simon think of us first

I booked the barn for the whole family to celebrate my daughters 50th birthday and I couldn't have selected a better place. The location was amazing and the barn was perfect, with views of the surrounding hills. All the rooms were spacious and comfortably furnished. There was a well stocked family kitchen, a large dinning room, along with a cosy sitting room, complete with inglenook fireplace and plenty of wood for the long fire. The seperate Snug was perfect for the younger members of the family. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating

My husband and our family, including young children, had a fantastic time while at Cae Madog Barn. The location is superb, amid spectacular scenery. The Barn itself was spacious, cosy and well equipped. The lay out of the sleeping accommodation is very good, basically, there are two stair cases set on each side of the barn, with four bedrooms on each side. There is ample seating and living space within the lounge and dining areas. We found the barn to be warm, only needed for short while on a night time. There is a log burner, logs provided, we only lit this one evening. Adults and children alike loved the hot tub and pool. Small towns for shops/ supermarkets weren't too far away, and there were pub/ restaurants within 20- 25 minutes away. Owners, Mr and Mrs Nelson ( Gemma and Simon), were super friendly and helpful when needed. The family, 14 of us in all, had a lovely holiday in at an amazing place, we would highly recommend this accommodation.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful. It had the most breathtaking views! A huge plus for us was how big it was. We were a large party of 14 (6 adults and 8 children) and we still had spare rooms! So we never felt like we were on top of each other. The owner was helpful and the place was left extremely clean for us on arrival. Despite the bad weather, it was a really pleasant stay! We would definitely recommend this to others looking for that cosy cottage who are wanting to escape the hubbub of normal, busy life!

We recently spent a week at Cae Madog Barn with family to celebrate our Dads 70th birthday. It was perfect! The rooms are very cosy & the beds are so comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped to feed large numbers. Plenty of everything. The air hockey table was a huge hit with the kids. It’s so peaceful & the view is absolutely amazing! The pool was heated which helped as the weather wasn’t great at times. Always finished up with a soak in the hot tub. We did lots of BBQs & even got the log burner going on the chilly evenings. Would recommend a meal at the Briglands Inn, it’s a lovely pub not too far! Also a mention for Jules cakes who does deliveries of the most delicious cakes/goodies. You are quite remote so you do need to be organised with food, as no nipping to the shops last minute. This didn’t bother us at all, as we got a Tesco delivery upon arrival. Simon & Gemma were lovely & extremely helpful throughout. Would highly recommend staying here & hope to go back again one day.

Our stay was to celebrate a family birthday; we had three generations in our group and partners. If you want peace and quiet and a stunningly beautiful backdrop, Cae Madog is perfect. The sun came out for our celebrations and the terraced decking area, with panoramic views over the glorious countryside came into its own.
The barn is tastefully decorated. Bedrooms are kept quite simple but the shared living areas are wonderful, particularly the comfy, warm living room. We appreciated the multiple seating areas, all of which were used, and allowed for smaller break out groups to socialise. We had family meals every evening. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with large pans, dishes and plenteous utensils. We were catering for 15 adults and had no issues at all.
The island in the kitchen is perfect to set out food so that everyone can help themselves but the dining table was a little cramped for 15 adults, although manageable.
Bathroom facilities were fine for us, as we were getting up and retiring at different times. It could be a little stretched if everyone needed to go through simultaneously!
Our young adults loved the separate games room with pool table. And we all enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We did have the pool heated but it was still a bit chilly when getting in; hardly surprising in April!
The only minor niggles were a) the gaming console apparently needed new batteries, b) the air hoc table’s airflow system isn’t wonderful, although probably fine for kids and c) the hot tub jets, particularly on one side were rather weak and feeble, so it wasn’t especially bubbly. However, in the context of all the other strong positives, these were of little consequence to us.
Simon and Gemma were very considerate hosts. They promptly answered all my numerous questions prior to arrival, responded quickly when we had questions on arrival or ran out of something, but gave us plenty of space to enjoy being with family in the middle of nowhere. The cakes on arrival from Jules were a bonus and absolutely delicious (as was the birthday cake).
All together a highly successful weekend and recommended without hesitation. I would definitely consider for a return visit if organising for a larger party.

A group of 7 school friends (now in our 40’s) rented this for a weekend away from toddlers. Lovely hosts, home and hot tub. I would 100% come again. There isn’t much around in terms of pubs or restaurants but the kitchen is very well stock. Hosts were amazing with great communication.

We had booked the barn for my husband’s 70th birthday to spend time with our family. (Including 6 grandchildren, 8 years old and younger and a dog!) What a perfect place. The barn was spacious and well equipped with so many games and activities to keep everyone happy. The swimming pool was superb, a lovely temperature and safe with a padlocked gate. Air hockey, Pool, a room set up for PlayStation etc, and a hot tub were also enjoyed by all. It is a well furnished barn and with eight large bedrooms it made it just perfect for our three families to stay without feeling on top of each other. The location was great with stunning views over the Cambrian mountains. We spent every evening sitting outside stargazing. We all managed to see a shooting star. The grandchildren enjoyed the countryside and we spent one day walking up a mountain to have a picnic on the top. It was just idyllic. The owners Simon and Gemma were brilliant. They were quick to answer any questions before our stay and were great whilst we were there, explaining how things worked and being next door(but invisible) if anything cropped up. They wanted to make our stay just right and the complimentary cakes were absolutely delicious. It was helpful to know about the supermarket deliveries so that I had organised those beforehand. I would thoroughly recommend Cae Madog Barn. What a wonderful holiday in a perfect location. Thank you.

13 of us (three generations), ages 9-73 had the most fabulous holiday at Cae Madog. It has a beautiful setting and is equipped with everything you could need for a stress-free holiday. The games room, the pool and hot tub were in use all week by all members of the party and it was a treat to find the water in the pool was always warm. Everyone commented how comfortable and snug the beds and duvets were. The washing machine and tumble dryer were especially useful to dry towels and a drinks cooler was welcomed by the adults! The hosts were more than helpful when our on-line shopping didn't arrive on time by providing some fresh milk and tea bags, even spare batteries. They provided some delicious welcome cakes and cookies too. We spent a lot of time paddle-boarding, rally driving and zip-lining too, all within easy driving distance. This place is a real gem where we celebrated birthdays and anniversaries - all with the help of a local cake-maker who provided some excellent cakes and catered, not only for us chocolate lovers, but also for the gluten free and dairy free needs of the party. We would not hesitate to recommend this place and hope we can find a date to get us there all together again.

Our business recently ran an event over 2 weekends with Cae Madog, with some team building exercises such as fire walking and rebar bending. With some much-needed downtime in the pool in between.
In total we had 35 staff visit over the 2 weekends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
Enjoyed it so much that will be visiting again with family next year.

We had a lovely holiday the property was of a high stand relaxing week with beautiful scenery very quiet with lovely heated swimming pool that we used every day

We had such a great weekend at the barn! The hot tub was the biggest treat and the views were amazing even in the wintery weather. We went for a lovely walk (in the rain) but being able to return to a warm and cosy house was heavenly. Lots of games to play including a pool table which was a super fun addition. Overall everyone slept amazing with great beds, the kitchen, dining area and lounge were perfect and we enjoyed immensely.

Such a stunning location, great facilities and plenty of room for all 15 of us. The pool and hot tub were a wonderful addition. The cottage is well stocked and there is a gas barbecue which we used. It is within easy reach of lovely sandy beaches and there are some lovely walks on the doorstep. Now we are home we really miss sitting out on the balcony enjoying the view, having fun in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub.
We will definitely be coming back!

We held a small corporate event here. Simon and Jemma went above and beyond throughout your stay, and before our arrival to accommodate our needs.
The property and facilities are superb, and the views and settings are Beautiful. Before the end of our first weeks stay, we have already booked two further visits for the company. And will be booking many more in the years to come.

This was our 3rd visit and we have booked again for next year. I dont think we would ever find a holiday home as good as this one. The youngsters were never bored, as they had the swimming pool, hot tub, pool table and X box to keep them entertained. There are so many beautiful places to visit in the area and even after 3 visits, there are still places we havent been to. This is a great house for a large family holiday.

Lovely family holiday - great hot tub and pool. Very remote - which means beautiful scenery but a bit of a drive to get anywhere. Beautiful house, quite a lot of steps so a little tricky with toddlers sometimes. Overall, lovely and would recommend.

We stayed with our extended family for a week at Cae Madog Barn and loved every minute. We were grateful for the generous welcome basket on arrival. Simon and Gemma met us on arrival and were both friendly and helpful. The house was spotless and provided for all our needs. The weather was hot at the beginning of the week and the pool a Godsend. They hot tub too was enjoyed, especially by the Mother’s once the kids were put to bed. The view from the back of the house over the valley was stunning, and a treat for the eyes. We have absolutely no complaints and wouldn’t hesitate to return again.

We all enjoyed our stay immensely. The pool and hot tub were a massive hit. Also lots of space indoors which was a bonus when it was wet outside.

Past a working farm on the side of a velley which captures the Welsh sun( when she shows), Cae Madoc is an impressive barn conversion. The ground floor space is nicely set out for a large group, with several different rooms offering plenty of space to go. There are 2 tv's a dvd player and a games consul. The dining room has plenty of seats and the well equipped kitchen comes with almost everthing one would want. Sleeping accommodation is at each end of the building and the rooms are spacious and light, the bed being very comfy. Outsided there is a seperate games room with pool and darts.A hot tub (sheltered from the elements) and a small pool (heated) surrounded by decking and again, ample ratan seating. The hosts were friendly, helpful and very willing to share their knowledge with us. All in all, thouroughly recommended is you want a large house with all the mod cons in a very peaceful location.

My whole family stayed at Cae Maddog Barn recently as we had lost our mum to covid earlier this year and wanted to get together to have a proper send off and remember her. We mainly stayed at the barn as there was plenty to do especially as the weather was great we spent most of our time by the pool or relaxing on the veranda and enjoying the magnificent views. At night we would enjoy a drink in the hot tub or play games in the huge lounge sat around the Woodburner. The barn was very clean and had everything we could possibly need and plenty of space for us all. The kitchen was a great size and had plenty of space for all our food for the week. We could leave the younger children to run around freely as there were gates on areas such as the pool so we knew they were safe. We received a gift basket on our arrival which was a lovely touch and the hosts were very friendly and attentive to all our needs. Some of us went on some lovely walks around the area which was very beautiful. We would love to come again in the future.

Absolutely loved the place! Great facilities with an even better view Couldn’t get the kids out of the pool, it was a great temperature even when it was cloudy.

Just back from a wonderful holiday here. The barn is set in stunning countryside and has everything you need for a relaxing break. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms and living areas beautifully decorated and were very clean and comfortable.
We ranged in age from 85 to 15 and all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We made very good use of the swimming pool and pool table and enjoyed just sitting on the balcony watching the sheep and cattle and listening to birdsong - a truly relaxing time.
Gemma and Simon were perfect hosts and it was lovely to have them just next door if needed. We highly recommend the barn and hope to return very soon!
