Had our family reunion at this idyllic Vesta View and Shepherd's Retreat near Humshaugh. Location perfect surrounded by chickens, sheep, lambs and cows ... The house was ideal and catered for my brother in a wheelchair. Beds so comfortable and the welcome hampers were so very welcome as we'd forgot the milk! Did the sycamore gap trail - a bit late to see the tree. Went to Beamish museum, vindalanda , The Sill and the star gazing at Twice Brewed - meal in the pub, then a presentation on the universe , unfortunately didn't get to see the stars as it rained - but still worth it.
We had a lovely long weekend break at Vesta View, with excellent accommodation and wonderful views across the countryside. The holiday home is very well equipped with everything you can possibly need. Accessibility (ground floor bedroom and wet room) was excellent as we had a wheelchair user with us. The welcome pack was a lovely addition as were chickens, swallows, hares and bats. Having an EV charger on site was also very useful. We hope to return.
The property was immaculate and a perfect place to relax after 2 weeks on the road. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you needed and the welcome pack from the hosts was very much appreciated. Beautiful panoramic views of the countryside and close to the main attractions of Hadrians Wall. The kids loved the pet chickens roaming around in the gardens. Would highly recommend a stay here and hope to be back soon.
