The cottage was lovely and spacious with plenty of space for 6 people. It's so quiet and peaceful with stunning views We were attending a wedding at GGs Yard so the location was perfect, a couple minutes in a taxi

An incredibly relaxing week in a very lovely cottage. Spacious and supremely comfortable beds. The situation affords stunning views out over the surrounding countryside and over the bay from every window. We were transfixed. Absolutely a place we will return to. Only issue for us was the gap under the garden gates which did allow our dog to wander away but fortunately not far. Wouldn’t deter us from returning however. It’s such a beautiful part of the world and this is a great place to appreciate it from.

Very comfortable accomodation with beautiful views. We stayed for a weekend to attend a wedding just along the road at GGs Yard but wish we could have stayed longer to see more of the area. We would definitely return.

A great place to stay. The location was very convenient and easy to get to, perfect for exploring this area. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We hope to return!

In this our 7th visit to the cottage, the fantastic panoramic views remain just that. The cottage is spacious, extremely comfortable, well furnished and equipped, with most attractive art-work in the living area, and a good stock of books, games and jigsaws to occupy quieter moments - or should the weather be less than clement! The cottage, surrounded by a pretty garden, grassy space and sitting out areas, is within easy reach of the main Stranraer to Carlisle trunk route yet out of sight or sound of it. There are a number of high quality restaurants/cafes within reach, plus much to explore in a variety of historic and cultural sites, with good walking routes as well as several Gardens of considerable interest and areas of natural beauty. Similarly some supermarkets - some smaller than others and other useful retail outfits. The in house 'Book' providesThere is always something to watch in the surrounding fields and the neighbours are most helpful. [The fact that equipment in the kitchen drawers is very disorganised is mildly irritating!] Altogether DEFINITELY A 'GO-TO' HOLIDAY DESTINATION.

High Auchenlarie is a beautiful, elegant and cosy cottage in a wonderful location with stunning views!
The cottage is in an elevated position with private parking. On entering the cottage, one is met with a gorgeous open plan kitchen, diner and living room with breathtaking scenery to be seen from every window.
We cooked a lot, and the owners have thoughtfully provided everything we could need in the kitchen. The wood burning stove kept us cosy on cooler evenings, as we relaxed in the peacefulness of this cottage. The silence here is wonderful, and for us city dwellers it was an escape to serenity!
It was spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, and had an array of local artwork around the home. It was close to several local towns, with lots of shops, art galleries and glorious beaches.
There is good Wi-Fi, and, did I mention the views?! We had an amazing, peaceful, and restorative break in this gorgeous cottage.

Great cottage, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Easy to find (thanks to Laggan down the hill) and in a spectacular spot with lovely views across the Solway Firth. Brilliantly located for most of the Dumfries & Galloway attractions (Cream O'Galloway, Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirroughtree etc). Dog friendly too, but note it is in the middle of farmland, so cattle and sheep are in the fields around for any dogs not well disposed to farm animals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at High Auchenlarie Cottage, with its stunning view over Solway Bay. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. We found that everything we needed was provided. The beds are very comfortable and the facilities excellent. The cottage is situated in a beautiful part of South West Scotland, in close proximity to Mossyard beach. There are many good eating places nearby. Gather is just along the road and well worth a visit, if only to experience its wonderful views across the bay. The food is good too. The surrounding area has much to offer. A week is not long enough to explore what it has to offer. A return visit is a must.

For 'getting away from it all' this location is unbeatable. The cottage is comfortable, attractively furnished, fairly well equipped (e.g. no bread bin, no bread or cheese boards nor butter dish!)and well supplied with linen, crockery etc. The web-page mentions suitability for elderly people - however the dining chairs are so heavy as to be almost immoveable and the TV controls so high-tech they are almost incomprehensible! The location is easily accessible and set amongst fields - with interesting livestock - also wild flowers in abundance and a multitude of bird species to watch. There are many good walking routes and some fine beaches - if you search carefully - plus many places of historic interest, a plethora of good eating places and attractive retail opportunites!
