Beautiful farmhouse with lots of space inside and out. Secure garden which our dog loved. Lots of walks direct from the door. We spent 4 nights here and didn't want to go home. We will definitely be returning.

We chose this stay for the location; Peaceful solitude up in the hills with immediate access to forest walks direct from the door for our 2 rescue greyhounds - we were not disappointed! Our break coincided with some amazing weather and the tail end of the fortnight high of back-to-back sunshine and heat. I can safely say I've never broken out shorts and T-shirts during the annual Easter break to Scotland before never mind having to buy a cap and suncream! Diamonds was literally an Off-piste jewel surrounded by fields and wildlife; lambing-sheep, scores of Red Kites, Herons and Geese (both at home on the small lake 100yds from the house. The Kites were amazing; literally gliding and circling over the rooftop of the house non-stop. The accommodation itself did not dissapoint; all necessities catered for and really comfortable bedrooms, lounge and great kitchen. The Aga ensured the lounge/kitchen was toasty all evening not even needing and heating. The garden was ideal for the dogs; fully fenced perimeter and was big enough for 2 greyhounds to run around in. If you want peace and quiet and be fully enveloped in countryside and wildlife then this is the place for you. Cannot be beaten. The estate staff were great (cheers Oscar) and communication was within a few hours with responses to questions. Ultimately, the proof of a holiday pudding is whether you'd return and that is a big, fat simple YES. Just book and ENJOY!

We wanted to get away from it all at the start of November and this was just the ticket. Two dogs and 7 humans sharing a lovely SUPER QUIET and VERY COMFY place in the Borders. Some really interesting places to visit just a short-ish drive away and dead silence at night. Perfect!

Diamonds is a fantastic little cottage and has lots of space for 8 people to stay comfortably. we had a fabulous week on Loch Ken and this cottages is just 5 minutes from the Loch

This place is quite simply perfect. We had 8 adults and had so much room, the pictures don’t do it justice! The house is really stunning and so well designed. We never wanted to leave. The surrounding area is peaceful, remote and stunning, we walked so much our dogs were in heaven. The house is well supplied and we loved the free logs for the fire, other rentals charge a fortune, although the Aga makes the house incredibly toasty so we didn’t often need a fire. We cooked a full Christmas lunch in the kitchen and had everything we could possibly need. Absolutely outstanding in every way!.

I booked this accommodation for the SOLE purpose of hawking pheasants with Goshawks, emailed the estate office for dates and never got a reply.
Made several attempts to arrange dates with the keeper, eventually he agreed to give me 3 dates.
Unfortunately the ground was devoid of pheasants, impossible to walk on as it was harvested pine forest.
The gamekeeper did nothing to resolve our problem as he was more interested in gossiping on social media.
I emailed a complaint over and spoke to Oscar the estate owner who offered us a refund for 2 days worth of accommodation.
In hindsight I should have insisted that he refunded all three days.
I will not going in detail everything the keeper said as he was acting like a school boy in the playground, but saying to customers that are genuinely struggling to walk on the allocated ground that the estate does not provide Zimmer frames as part of the package.
Stating he is allowed to be a C*nt because he is a gamekeeper are just two examples.
It’s obvious that shooting and gun dog training get access to the “proper ground with pheasants” and the hawking people are pushed out so far so that they don’t disturb the pheasants that are for the guns and gun dog training days.
Thankfully many other estates offer real access to pheasants for Goshawkers like me and have equally as good accommodation with pleasant gamekeepers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had very clear directions and so it was easy to find in the late afternoon.
The house was warm, clean and comfortable. Thanks to the terrific mattresses and possibly a glass of wine we slept wonderfully well. The drying room is a great asset.
Overall we would heartily recommend staying here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Diamonds Lagan. It was the peaceful retreat we were looking for, immersed on the estate and surrounded by the nature. The walks around the estate were lovely and we walked all day without seeing a soul. The cottage is well appointed with a perfect mix of traditional farmhouse features and the mod cons needed for comfort. Loved the vegetable box, many thanks to the gardener for the produce. We will miss the views from the property and will definitely be back.

Four households - 7 adults and one baby, plus 2 dogs - gathered at Diamonds Laggan for an Easter break. It is a fabulous venue , with plenty of space for everyone, very well equipped and really comfortable. Everything was of a really high quality, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, providing a travel cot and high chair for the baby. The extras- table tennis table, 2 bikes, outside dining and garden and our own trout lake- we all caught a fish!- were a real bonus. The location was beautiful, with plenty to see and do nearby. We were very lucky with the weather, glorious spring sunshine and daffodils and lambs aplenty, plus red kites circling outside our window. One of our best holidays ever!

Looked lovely on the photos, the house was clean and pleasantly warm. Outside the house looked very tired and needs repaint. Small garden was disappointing. Inside was as on photos. Some issues with leaking roof upstairs, only one lamp supplied during power cut. The placemats were tatty due too no chopping boards and only minimal amount of welcome features. (3 dishwasher tablets, one t towel, no extra loo rolls).
Would Not recommend, as outside space was limited for animals and children. Great for adults.

This our fifth stay at Diamonds Laggan which has everything that you need for a super family holiday, from a barbecue which we have often used to a large and an excellent drying room for when the weather is at the other end of the scale. Really useful for wet clothes and wet dog towels. Although the cottage feels remote the WiFi is very good for the wet days, and is in a very convenient location to explore the whole of Dumfries and Galloway, with easy access to paddle boarding on Loch Ken and clay pigeon shooting at Forrest Estates. The estate itself has a series of well defined peaceful walks and the whole estate has an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. All the members of the estate team go the extra mile to make your holiday really special.

The estate was as stated with everything required for an amazing stay. A few minor issues that were noted such as internet, hoover, requests on booking etc. It would be worth booking trips in advance, due to going to coco beans and being full we then waisted a day finding something to do. However, if you are wanting a relaxing break, this is certainly the place for you.

We loved the house and surroundings. It was brilliant to be able to bird watch from the kitchen wind. The estate was good for going running. We went wild swimming and enjoyed long walks in the area and had a great meal out at Mr Pooks in castle Douglas as recommended in the information provided.
