This is the second time my family adi have stayed here. It is an absolute gem of a place. It is comfortable and cosy and has everything you can think of. Including amazing views in the front and beautiful countryside in the back. It is in an amazing spot to use as a base everything is reached quickly. Thank you to the owner as it allows my growing family to have some amazing family time! Loved it.
Lovely spacious well equipped property in a great location in Barmouth. Had a lovely holiday here and will definitely return.
This cottage was comfortable and clean, the dogs loved the secure garden. The host was lovely and helpful as were the neighbours and all made us extremely welcome, what a lovely community. The Location is wonderful with stunning views and a lovely walk up the mountain behind, the hose provided clear instructions at to the paths to follow. It is well situated for trips out to either the beach at Blackrock Sands or out into the stunningly beautiful countryside. There is plenty of room both inside the cottage and out with good parking. We had a paddleboard and blow up boat with us and there was r...more
This was our second time at the house and it did not disappoint. The surroundings were amazing and we explored the nearest peak to see views for miles. The children loved rafting in bodyboards down the river and exploring the copper mines. We visited some attractions such as the Cysyllte aqueduct which was spectacular, some of the wonderful castles and Bodnant gardens was beautiful. Dafydd and Manon are so lovely and we enjoyed a few little chats with Dafydd who provided us with information and maps which helped us explore further. The house is cosy with everything we needed and we enjoyed...more
A very enjoyable stay over the New Year period in this comfortable and well equipped property. It was fantastic to experience the area and visit the beach during the winter period. The owners kindly left some lovely treats including a bottle of Prosecco which we enjoyed whilst sitting in the sunshine on the beach on New Year's Day. We look forward to staying again sometime soon.
The accommodation was excellent and having the two flats ideal for our family. Daughters, partners and baby upstairs and we were downstairs with mum. Gwen is an amazing host. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The garden is lovely and great seeing the trains go past each day. We will definitely return.
The fact that this was our 33rd stay says it all! The wonderful view is ever changing yet always the same.
Zig Zag Cottage is the perfect place for families who want to get into the mountains or to the beach- perfectly located. The cottage itself has a great living space- we had two families with 4 children under 6 and we never felt like we were falling over each other. The cottage was immaculate, comfortable beds and games provided. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden great for dogs. I would suggest for guests to bring hand towels for the bathrooms as well as towels for washing and also hand soap Ian my provided so make sure you back some. Only thing I would change is if the accommodation...more
A cosy clean and comfortable cottage set in a very quiet village. The only problem we had, was that the garden was not enclosed so we were not able to let our dog run around unsupervised.
Nice traditional cottage in a pleasant part of Wales, not really suitable for those with mobility issues as the stairs are steep and the bathroom is downstairs. Comfortably furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Centrally located for Snowdonia and the surrounding area. Julie was very helpful and we appreciated the goodies.
We have been visiting Treetops at the end of October since 2019. 2020 did not happen, however we had our booking transferred to the same week in 2021. Location is ideal. The living room is really cosy. The new stairs to the decking makes it much easily to unload the car, instead of using the front door. We will be back in 2024. Well done Gwen and the whole team.
We had a comfortable stay. The bungalow has a beautiful view and is generally very clean and comfortable. We had very rainy, windy weather for most of our stay so couldn't use the garden areas. The surrounding area is very beautiful to explore. The welcome basket was appreciated.
This place was ideal for us, modern and spacious . It was very well equipped. Location is perfect for North Wales exploration. Walking distance to caernarfon. I would love to stay here again.
Returned to Sandcastles and it did not disappoint. Standards in every department where as high as ever. It’s truly a home from home and we all love it! Yes we’ll be back!
We loved the house. Comfortable, homely and welcoming. Plenty of space for our group who varied in age. We had wonderful dinners at the top of the garden watching the sunset and the 8 year old enjoyed playing in the garden. Very convenient for the station, easy walk in to Llanbedr to shop and pubs. Good base for cycle rides and walks, trips to Harlech and Barmouth.
Excellent accomodation in a stunning location. Been visiting the same beach for over 50 years but this cottage is by far the most superior.
This is a very cosy mid-terrace property in Tanygrisiau. We stayed as a family with two teenage sons and they loved it. It is in an ideal location for strolling in to Blaenau Ffestiniog and riding the railway and Zip World. It's a short drive to Porthmadog and Port Merrion or you can take the steam train from the village station into Porthmadog and on to Caernarfon. The cottage sits in the shadow of the Moelwyn Hills and there is some fantastic trails and treks into the hills from the village. The walk up to the top of the Stwlan Dam, which forms part of the Ffestiniog Hydro Electric power sta...more
Lovely accomodation in a good location with spectacular views from the lounge overlooking the harbour. Very quiet. Home from home and spacious as there were only 2 of us. Would certainl;y come again even though we don't live too far away. Very well equipped. The only items we missed were a teapot and a clock. Excellent place to stay.
Had a relaxing break in this wonderfully restored modern cottage. Everything had been well thought of. Had no issues at all. Would love to come back.
Lovely relaxing holiday in a wonderful location. Did very little apart from enjoy the view over the estuary.
Excellent stay in Snowdonia. Good customer service, cottage was lovely, only regret, not long enough . Thanks
A nice property in a brilliant position. However certain appliances iin the kitchen need to be looked at.The icebox in the fridge doesn't shut properly as the handle seems to have been broken off. This makes the top shelf in the fridge wet and unable to be used. Also the settings for the oven have worn off the dial and there were no instructions.
The Garden Flat is like a home from home for me now. I keep returning as its so hard to beat. The help and care you get from the all of the staff is amazing.Nothing is too much trouble The accomodation is fitted with everything you could need to enjoy your stay in this beautiful place Hiraeth til next time ❤
Lovely accommodation very fitting for our needs . Spacious and ever changing views . We will be coming again
The cottage is actually called Ivy Cottage not Riverside Cottage as it appears on the paperwork, this made picking up the keys tricky at the village shop. The cottage was quite small on first impressions but the view from the back terrace was fabulous. As we had a wonderful week of sunny weather a lot of our time was spent on the terrace watching the river scene or gazing at the stars in the evening. Well equipped kitchen and the laundry room was a great asset. The bathroom needs attention. Beddgelert is a lovely village in a prime position for mountains and coast.
The cottage is in an excellent location with magnificent views but being in an exposed position off the main road is prone to any bad weather conditions. On my stay overnight storms resulted in part of the track near the road being partly washed away (fixed by the owner as I was leaving), but still passable with care. The only company you have is sheep which seem to like grazing in the back parking area if the gate is left open! WiFi reception is good whilst TV satellite reception can be problematical in windy conditions. The cottage is well equipped and looks to have had a thorough refurbi...more
This cottage is in a beautiful location and the village was quiet in March. It rained all the time we were there, but tha didn't matter at all. The only slight niggle was that the 'how to have a bath' information did not actually work in that you couldn't boost the temperature of the hot water. The information pack needs to be updated.
A lovely apartment in a great location with a brilliant view of the harbour. The only slight drawback was that the furniture and beds were rather low for us elderly and disabled people.
We had a wonderful stay, the accommodation was spot on, very clean and comfortable, we had amazing views across the harbour and the hills/ mountains in background it was stunning, we will definitely be coming again and will recommend to family and friends
Our family of two adults and two children aged 10 and 13 really enjoyed our stay at Waterfall Cottage. The cottage has been sympathetically modernised, keeping an old fashioned feel whilst offering excellent facilities and being very well equipped. Even though the weather during our stay was a bit rubbish it didn't matter. The hot tub was a great place to chill out in the rain as was the summer house high up in the garden, which offered dramatic mountain views whatever the weather. The garden is very steep and those with young children or mobility issues would probably find accessing the s...more
A wonderful week away staying at the artists cottage providing Breathtaking views surrounded by mountains, and walking distance from Portmerion. The cottage is delightful and suitably equipped ( although in need of some modernisation ). Highly recommended :)
This is our 2nd time at sailing house. A group of us get together for bygones weekend every year and our usual place wasn't available. This is always an excellent 2nd choice The rooms are spacial and well laid out. My only issue and this is for every place I stay is there never any sharp knives for cooking. Also on this occasion we had no TV as the signal was non existent but we put that down to the incredible weather we had. Highly recommended sailing house.
Very nice apartment but totally unsuitable for a disabled person. This was our own fault as we didn't ask enough questions. This a new situation for us and we learnt a lot from the experience. We would like to come back next year but will have to find a more suitable apartment.
definitely book this again, great location for visiting this part of Wales. Good facilities and very comfortable.
Our 2nd visit to River's Edge, and the flat was as well-equipped and cosy as we remembered it. Everything we needed (and more) was there, and the Economy 7 heating provided ample warmth even in a rather dreary week. The views are as spectacular as ever and provide an ever-changing backdrop during the daytime. We'd love to return!
Cottage was perfect! We’ve stayed here 3 times now. Clean and warm over New Year & in centre of village
Nice location overlooking the marina although Porthmadog itself seemed a little 'bleak' with quite a few closed up shops which I guess is similar to most high streets these days especially once summer trade is over. The property was pleasant enough and very clean but if you like a hard mattress and a hairdryer this is not the place for you. We will look at booking again though as we loved the surrounding beaches for our dog to run on although I will remember to pack my hairdryer.
OK, so this flat doesn't exactly overlook either the harbour or the sea, but it suited our needs nicely. Although there were only two of us using it, it would be fine if you have one or two small children with you. It's a very easy walk into town, and the Ffestiniog Railway station with its excellent Spooner's Bar is even nearer. The car space right in front of the flat made unloading and loading as easy as any where we've stayed. Would definitely try to book this place again.
What a beautiful little property with a fabulous view over the harbour. We booked for 4 nights and this had everything we needed for a lovely stay! Ideal location and would definately stay again!
The accommodation was clean and comfortable and very accessible. will book again. Minor suggestion: Bushes in the front garden need trimming down as they mask the wonderful view over the harbour Provision of bedding and linen very welcome
Plastic disposable cups in Bath room not glass or China as slate floors. Even some of the basics salt pepper etc, on hand when you get there. Having used other holiday companies they provide tea coffee milk bread butter condiments cheese and sweet biscuits .you have paid for them in the price but when get there you have something. Just a suggestion ,I am sure some will disagree , but after travelling its nice to get there unload chill before you need to shop.
We regularly book this apartment. The reason is it`s dog friendly, the view is amazing in all weathers, it`s comfortable, the location for up or down the coast is good, it`s clean and it has a parking space. We were looking to book it again in October but someone has beaten us to the week, we`ll have to see if we can get down later in the year.
We came for a last minute 3 night getaway on 2nd Jan till Friday 5th & was very impressed with our stay & the accommodation was lovely. Was very cosy & comfortable & well equipped with all you needed. We all slept well & was very comfortable. Even the dog felt at home & loved the outside space. The shower was good but the bathroom was a bit small & water literally got everywhere when showering so you had to mop it all down afterwards. We did have a little leak too under the sink but we informed the company about it & it didn't affect our stay. We will definitely try come back again in the war...more
Another fantastic week overlooking an ever changing amazing sea view. Bungalow was very clean, tidy and well equipped but a few things needed sorting- broken bedroom drawer, kitchen cupboard door missing and kitchen kick board fell off when we closed the fridge door! Felt a little let down as we were probably the last of the year to stay but still paid a good amount to so. Therefore expected things to be perfect. However, this won’t stop us from returning to this fantastic spot!
Great Location, Very well presented, Comfortable, Fantastic views, Very relaxing watching the weather coming in from the sea.
We enjoyed a rather wet week in North Wales this year. We enjoy this flat as its location is superb, overlooking the constantly changing estuary. Ffestiniog railway is always fun, even though the benefits for life members have been annoyingly reduced unilaterally. Weather could have been better this year, but a visit to Bodnant Gardens was memorable. The flat is compact but provides all the necessary facilities, and is comfortable. Recommended.
Lovely cottage, great location, loved the Steam train at bottom of garden, good value for money, highly recommend
A very enjoyable week at the cottage. The views from the property are spectacular and the games room/ hot tub really made it feel like a holiday. There was an issue with damp in one of the bedrooms but we understand this has now been fixed. We recommend this property! :-)
Ideal location & parking in the street was no problem. Coming in from a walk and still being able to enjoy the view of the bay, even in the rain, was great. The kitchen is well stocked but the washing machine didn't work. I have reported this, so the owners are now aware. We would definitely recommend The Quatrterdeck and look forward to returning again soon.
Fabulous location. Great to be able to view trains as they cross the cob. Flat well equipped and warm and comfortable. Had a good holiday.
Thanks for a great stay. Great location and lovely property. Few bits to make you aware of: The front room had been cleaned but not under the table or sofa, which we did. The property has Netflix but you need an account. Might be worth referencing that in the detail. The person I spoke to when I booked was excellent. First class. I had a call when shopping with kids late Friday re the recycling. I appreciate the person I spoke to didn’t want to talk to me at 6pm before the weekend but getting hung up on was not ideal to finish our holiday experience… Wish you all the best...more
In spite of a mixed week of changeable Autumn weather, every day was a joy at Harbour Escape. With a mix of steam trains, tides, mountains and wildfowl to observe from the apartment window we found it difficult to find a reason to go out. The facilities were clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed - with one exception! After a week of struggling with the TV satellite system, we still only achieved a couple of channels which cut out every so often. We did however come away more rested having watched less TV!
The cottage is in a perfect spot to explore this beautiful and peaceful part of Wales. The owner kindly provided tea, coffee, sugar, milk and Welsh cakes which is thoughtful and most welcome. The cottage was clean and well presented. The garden was perfect for our dogs, sadly the weather didn’t allow us the chance to enjoy it more. The owner was really friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and look to return.
The cottage was lovely and well equipped. A file containing details of the cottage and local amenities would have been useful. The location is fabulous!
We enjoyed our stay at Dros y Dwr Porthmadog. The situation was lovely. The apartment suited our needs, although more information on the heating would have been useful. However it was beautifully kept and I can imagine in the summer the balcony would be a great asset.
Not the standard that we have had at other properties on this complex. Overall cleanliness could have been better. Kitchen area should have been checked better as crumbs on floor & soon pot's and pan's needed washing before using. This being said it was a comfortable week.
Just returned from another lovely week at this beautiful cottage in its amazing quiet location. Gorgeous walks straight from the front door - if you are after a peaceful break in nature we thoroughly recommend this special place. Becky & Rog
We loved this apartment with it's wonderful view from the lounge. The property was clean, warm and comfortable and very well equipped. We look forward to visiting again.
My husband and I wanted a property with waterfront views for one week to recharge our batteries. This duplex has superb views of Porthmadog harbour . Being an end property you get views from every window. The duplex had everything you need. It was warm and you could get extra boost from the fire in the living room . Cooker was easy to use . Hot water for showers just needed 10 minutes to heat upon. I wasn’t sure what I needed to take , and was very pleased with starter pack dishwasher tablets , washing up liquid and tea towels . (There was also full washing up liquid on the sink) UHT milk in t...more
Cottage was in a lovely position, on the side of a flowing river. Great views from the kitchen and terrace. It was comfortable and well equipped but could do with some candles and torches. The electricity went off twice in a storm but we couldn’t find anything to light up the house. Luckily it wasn’t for long. We found the stairs quite steep but manageable. Lovely chairs in the back room to sit and relax watching the river with a coffee or glass of wine. The village of Beddgelert is only a short stroll away. Lots of walks along the river on paths to enjoy.
You can't fault the view and location. If the owner was to update the furnishings and decor. Very musty old smell to the place. Crockery was dirty and had to wash everything before use. Chipped glasses and scratched pans. I wouldnt use them. In between the sofa was filthy, the sofa itself was also really dirty as and the cushions need to go. The bed and bedding was clean and bathroom acceptable. Hot water went 2 days before end of stay, This did not effect shower so did not bother to report until end of stay. It did us ok for the week but to bring me back things need to be prestine. You ha...more
Booked at the last minute, we were delighted to find a cottage so central . STS are a very helpful and reliable company to use and I would recommend them ten times over. The cottage itself was comfortable with a STUNNING view over the harbour and mountains which we enjoyed from the balcony a few times, despite the time of year. Parking can be a problem! We arrived and were unable to stop outside to unload our luggage. I'm guessing it must be a lot harder during the season. Such a pity as this is a beautiful location.
Great little barn in very secluded location surrounded by nature. The barn is a great escape for a couple. It is in a Welsh rainforest nature reserve. Lots of birds on the doorstep and we saw a fox hunting in the meadow outside. And an osprey passed overhead too. The track to the barn was fine for a standard two wheel drive car/van if you take it slow. It's not that rough. Amazing place.
This is a really beautifully situated cottage which would benefit from the installation of a shower.
The location was spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on the picnic table with our coffee every morning. The fasicilites in the home were great to have. Good having the utility to dry off dogs and keep our wet sand clothes . Unfortunately the cleanliness of the house was a little below our other experiences when on vacation. Overall it was ok. Thank you
Heated blanket double bed very pleasant. Radiators appeared to be ‘locked’ seasonal? so, chilly. !!!
3rd stay at Captain Jack’s and as usual everything was at a high standard. Wonderful location, property has such a homely atmosphere, looking forward to coming back again next year.
Lovely cosy property, great location with excellent views. We thought that the little added extras of tea, coffee and Welsh cakes was a very welcoming and thoughtful gesture.
Loved the property, had great character and plenty of room for 13 of us. I would recommend that the owners look at providing fans in the height of the season due to the rooms being very hot, and although a hoover is in the property to keep tidy a mop and bucket would be useful too. (Maybe there was one but we couldn't locate it) The pool was fantastic a good size that could accommodate a large family, much fun was had here. A wonderful holiday with lots of laughter. The property was just ideal and at a reasonable price. I would look at returning in the future with my family.
Great flat, close to amenities. As with all the flats on SSW they need regular maintenance and this one could do with some attention. Doesn’t deflect from the great views and it was super warm. A fab few days.
This was the second time at this cottage. Today l booked again for next year. Such a lovely location. The cottage is cosy, and in a quiet location on the edge of the village. We had a wonderful sunny week. The staff at STS Holidays were very helpful too.
Had a fantastic stay here, the views are amazing. The flat is so warm and comfy to come back to after wintery rainy walks! We loved seeing the tides change across the harbour and estuary and watching the waders, egrets and cormorants. Flat was very well equipped and beds really comfy. Great to have a parking space right next to the flat as well. Lovely place thank you :-)
The pros of this cottage are: - Brilliant games room with pool table. - Flat screen TVs with Netflix etc which all worked perfectly. - Good showers which worked well, in both bathrooms. - Cottage newly and tastefully refurbished to high standard. - Excellent, spacious kitchen. The cons are: - Very small parking space directly adjacent to busy main road. The space would not be fit for purpose with a large car and I think guests should be made aware before arrival as it could be very problematic. - Certain pillows (under pillow case) were very stained (looked like sweat stains) and I t...more
When we arrived we were struck with how lovely it looked however on inspection there was obvious signs of poor cleanliness dust behind the table in the kitchen and behind the draws in the lounge area bathroom showed signs of neglect as did the garden area at the front Having said that kitchen lovely the site was beautiful the beds were very comfortable we just felt it had an air of neglect which is a shame as Glan Gwna is such a beautiful place
The cottage had not been cleaned on arrival. The cleaners did arrive approximately one hour after I phoned the owner, saying "we'll have it done in no time". In fact, I would have preferred for them to have spent a long time, doing a thorough deep clean of the house, which was very dirty and smelly in parts. After they left, the downstairs toilet still smelt of men's urine and the smaller bedroom with bunkbeds smelt of rancid man's aftershave. Neither of those smells disappeared as the week went on. I had to look down the back of the sofa, in order to turn the reading light on. I...more

Nice property and location but really poor standard of furniture and fittings throughout, lots of maintenance issues not addressed (raised by others) and hard floors simply not properly cleaned. The property did not come close to justify the weekly rental charge.
