We had a lovely stay in Buttercups and Williams Hayloft - the houses were very clean and spacious, comfy beds and good showers. The pool, although small, was a nice addition and it was no problem to book sessions. Due to the weather, we didn't use the other outdoor facilities, but enjoyed looking out over the pond. Would have loved to use the star gazing area if the weather hadn't been so wet.
We had rented Buttercups and Williams Hayloft together and hadn't realised that they were separate buildings, a small distance apart - I only flag this as I would have liked to know this before arrival, not that it would have affected our decision to book, only that we would have put all the food in the Buttercups kitchen and used those facilities so that we ate together all the time.
Very much appreciated the help Emma and would highly recommended their barns to others

Very well equipped and comfortable. Mr and Mrs Blantern are very organised and quick to attend to any problems.
We booked both Buttercups and Hayloft for our party and were surprised to find that they were not adjacent but this was not a problem in the event.

The football field and other facilities provided plenty of opportunities for the younger members of our group to do their own thing

A beautiful barn which was perfect for a family celebration. Emma was helpful in relation to local activities that we could plan, and she even got us some milk so that we could make a cup of tea when we reach the barn after a long journey. Good location, good facilities and the only thing I can comment on, is that it was very hot during the heat wave and we all struggled to sleep. We did take some fans with us but it wasn’t enough. The beds and pillows were comfortable and if it wasn’t the heat wave, we would have had a much better time. Overall, we had a lovely time for a long weekend.

We stayed as 8 adults and 8 children.
There was enough space in the house to all eat together, and spend time indoors. There is plenty to do both on site and within a short drive. The pool was warm enough, and clean. This worked very well for our 4 families

My family and friends (16 people) stayed in Buttercups/Hayloft for one week over Easter, the barns are absolutely beautiful, exceptionally clean and so well equipped I defy anyone to look for something that isn’t there. James and Emma make booking so easy, they are very helpful if you have any queries and so knowledgeable about places to visit etc. We were 12 adults and 4 children aged between 8 and 15, kids loved being able to swim everyday and go for nice walks in the beautiful surrounding area. If you are looking for somewhere for a large group this is THE place, so glad we found it and I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you James and Emma, keep doing what you’re doing.

We were delighted to find Alkington Grange Barns for our sons and their families to join us to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday - there were 17 of us including 9 grandchildren with a wide age span. It is not easy to get all our family together these days but Alkington Grange Barns was absolutely perfect for our needs.
The cottages are in a superb rural location, totally peaceful, but only a short drive from shops in Whitchurch and many other attractions, including a fab water-sports centre at Alderford Lakes.
The cottages were clean, comfortable and very well equipped and the pool on site was a great hit with everyone. The children's play area was super for helping the little ones run off a bit of energy before bedtime and the older ones made good use of the basketball net. There is ample parking on site.
James and Emma were incredibly helpful either on the phone or by email when we had queries before arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. Check in and departure arrangements were very well thought out and worked very smoothly.
All in all, a wonderful holiday, thank you.

As a mature walking group we needed large group accommodation to walk The Sandstone Trail & the barns were perfectly situated. There was a lot to do on site with members using the swimming pool each day. Plenty of on site parking was useful as people made their own way there though we did car share as much as possible.

Just back from a long weekend at Alkington Grange Barns, 15 family members staying at Buttercups and Hayloft. What a fantastic place with everything you could possibly need for a luxurious self catering holiday. Furniture and beds were comfy. Swimming pool, Sports court and plenty of other things to keep all ages entertained. We loved the place and can't wait to return.

We celebrated my husbands 50th Birthday with the extended family & some friends. The two cottages worked perfectly, as the family stayed in Buttercups that sleeps 10 and our friends slept in the Hayloft, so they had a bit of peace and quiet away from the noisy children!!
The dining area in Buttercups was better than we expected, with plenty of room and incredible views. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need for a large group, and although we brought pre cooked meals, we could have cooked from scratch if we wanted to.
The facilities were enjoyed by all, the pool was lovely and we had a fun game of basketball, which we haven't played in years.
A great way to celebrate a birthday.

We stayed in this delightful group of cottages in Winter and everything was lovely and warm and cosy! Everything was spotlessly clean and even had some toys available for our younger children.
Whitchurch is a small market town just a few minutes away with some lovely places to eat. Etzios was a real find but you much pre book for larger groups!
