In a tiny village just off the main road, this cottage has everything you need. Nestled away in beautiful gardens it is so quiet that you cannot help but feel rested after your stay.
Finished to an extremely high standard and with plenty of room for two,
Ann has thought of everything right down to the chocolate brownies!!
Not our first visit and definitely won’t be our last!

The accommodation is located in a lovely village and well positioned for exploring the North & Western areas of the Lakes. Well presented & well equipped and comfortable. Lovely added treats provided by the owners which was well appreciated. Would return without question.

We were really impressed by Gardener's Cottage, a great location for visiting the North Lake District perfectly positioned for the coast and the national park so the best of both worlds. The house is very comfortable and cosy, it has everything you could need including basics like tea/coffee/sugar/salt/dishawasher tablets/foil etc but it was the extra thoughtful small touches that really made our stay. Treats, tags, towels and blankets for our dogs as well as a warm shower room complete with shampoo and all the dog essentials you might have forgotten. There's also a fenced and gated dog paddock in the grounds. Then there was wine and cake for us! We were only there for 2 nights as a stopover on a multi-part trip but we will definitely be back.

Ann from Tallentire Hall reached out to us after seeing our desperate Facebook post where we were staying in a really disgusting filthy holiday accommodation with no heating at new year.

She offered us Gardeners Cottage at Tallentire Hall at a really good rate which was incredibly generous of her and she saved our holiday. Both Ann and Martin are lovely people and fantastic hosts.

Gardeners cottage was clean, warm, bright and extremely comfortable and well equipped. The bed was a total dream ♥️ We could not have asked for more and would definitely return in the future!

Had a lovely first stay at Gardeners Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy, and very well appointed with lovely views across the garden. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The digital downloadable guide received prior to my visit was extremely helpful.

Well located for the Lake District and Cumbrian coast, both only a short drive away. This trip was only over a couple of days, far too short to fully appreciate and explore. I hope to return very soon, I can imagine how lovely the grounds will look through the different seasons.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Had a lovely stay at this cottage. Beautiful surroundings, really did not have any faults. But the few things I’d improve would be a long mirror and better reception on ITV channel

Our third stay in Gardener's Cottage and fully intend to return.
Really feels like a home from home, clean, comfortable and with all necessary modern amenities, but in a lovely quirky old building set in beautiful grounds in which to see the glorious sunsets over the Solway Firth.
Tallentire is a secluded, peaceful location, but only 10 minutes from Cockermouth and an excellent base for exploring the northern lakes, the Solway coast and surrounding areas.
A super welcome pack is provided and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
