Just along the coast from beautiful Bamburgh and fabled Lindisfarne, this landmark watermill has been part of Northumbrian history since medieval times - and it has a new lease of life as our latest, loveliest, most luxurious coastal retreat.

Built on the lands of the Earls of Northumberland not long after the Domesday Book, for many years supplied grain to the monks of Fame and the nearby fishing village of Beadnell. It continued as a watermill right through to the 20th century.

There's a thousand-year story to explore at Tughall Mill, and this is your chance to write your very own chapter.

A party of 10 old friends (5 couples) meet up together every year from different parts of the country. We chose The Old Watermill and we were not disappointed. The property was of exceptional quality and the customer service from Catch the Breeze was first class. Our special thanks to Clare who met us at the property and showed us around prior to our get together. We were so impressed we added an additional 3 nights to our original 4 nights stay. The property was tastefully decorated and to a very high standard. The kitchen area was exceptionally well equipped and of good quality. The setting of the property was beautiful along side a stream (The Nanny) amazing natural environment and lovely views. Lovely to sit and watch the various wildlife coming close to the house. Bedrooms were extremely comfortable and once again the bedding etc were of the highest quality.
Lounge areas were great for relaxation and very well laid out. All in all a fantastic place to stay. We would have no hesitation to recommend The Old Watermill to anyone thinking about staying there.

Luxuriously and beautifully restored mill house. Wonderful location in the fields walking distance to the beach. Has all the conveniences for a fantastic stay.

The wild life we enjoyed seeing from the Mill varied and interesting. Immaculately clean, well stocked and a wonderful welcome pack. We have stayed there last year and the very high standard has been maintained, and we are looking forward to return in June

We recently stayed at the old watermill in Chathill near Beadnell. The property was immaculate, beautifully decorated and the facilities were excellent. The personal service from Clare was above and beyond - we couldn't have asked for more.

Fantastic property in a wonderful location. The quiet beach was easily accessible.
The property itself was beautifully furnished and very well equipped.
Lots of space for a large family gathering.
The welcome pack was amazing.
Seeing hares and deer so close to the house was a bonus.
Would love to return.
