What a fabulous place for our family get-together: 8 adults, 3 children and a dog!
Very spacious. Lots of seating areas, indoor and out. Extremely well equipped - the kitchen inventory is phenomenal. Comfortable beds with high quality bedlinen. Lots of bathrooms with thick fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. The location is very peaceful. We watched a starling murmuration whilst the sun was setting over the wetlands - just amazing.

The property was perfect for what we needed - space for lots of people to stay and meet together. The property is well equipped with everything you could need for your stay including lovely little touches. A modern yet cosy place in the beautiful countryside. The location is perfect for a proper escape, just make sure you have everything need before you arrive as it's a biit of a drive to the nearest shop.
We'll be back!

Thank you ByQuince for a fantastic stay, communication beforehand was great & everything so well organised and was easy to book.

All guests were blown away when we arrived at the house, it was absolutely beautiful and each room unique, finished to a high standard & clean.

We spent the weekend at the house to celebrate my 30th birthday of which we had a private chef which was recommended by the Quince team. Was a great touch to the weekend.

Location was lovely, we went out walking on the nature paths and alongside the river. Was also a short drive to the local villages we visited.

Would definitely return!!!!!

Fantastic stay for a big gathering in both Snipe and the next door house, Roebucks Rose.
Comfy beds, en-suite for most rooms, open plan kitchen/ dining area was perfect for socialising and great outdoor space which is both child and dog friendly. Great river walks nearby and highly recommend the Trout Inn!
The Quince team were super responsive and supportive throughout, really great.
Overall I highly recommend and will surely return one day!

The Lock Keepers Snipe is a beautifully appointed and spacious venue. It is perfect for a big family get together. We staged such an event over a weekend along with a 60th Birthday Party for my husband on the Saturday evening.
The bedrooms felt luxurious with wonderful decor and excellent ensuite facilities. The guests that joined us for the party were blown away by the kitchen and lounge area and we were able to source a local chef to provide us with great food - recommended by Quince.
Walks around the Chimney Nature Reserve were lovely but just a shame that the Thames wasn't closer!

We stayed here in November last year and knew we had to come back for summer and SO glad we did. The gardens were incredible and in full bloom and the nature reserve was thriving. It's a beautiful location for relaxation, rest and fun and I would highly recommend it!

Beautiful venue to host a girls weekend away. House is so well decorated and equipped, really feels like a home away from home. Beds are beautifully comfortably, views are stunning, location is tranquil. Thank you!

The property looks amazing inside and out. Well stocked facilities and comfortable, spacious rooms. Gardens are lovely and plenty of walks in the area. Highly recommend booking for family gatherings.

We had the most amazing stay at The Lock Keepers Snipe. There was everything you could possibly need, so many big platters, bowls and jugs etc. which is amazing when there's 12 of you staying. The living areas are actually bigger in person and the rooms are all perfect.
We will definitely be back in the summer when we can make the most of the courtyard.
And the team at Quince were fab with such speedy responses.

Such a lovely space for a break, in a truly beautiful location. Being on the nature reserve was a massive bonus to having peaceful surroundings and the ability to go for lovely walks. The decor in the house was modern yet cosy, and the kitchen was really well equipped for dining! Will be back again!

Our party of consisted of 11 adults, 2 children aged 6 and 3, and a toddler. We were celebrating a 40th Wdding Anniversary. We had a fantastic time. Fortunately, we were blessed with great weather for the end of October, so we were able to enjoy the barn both indoors and outdoors.
The barn is very spacious, very well equipped, comfortable, clean and just a great place for a family gathering. We loved the layout and the space and privacy it provided bedroom wise, whist at the same time offering great communal areas in the lounge, dining room/kitchen.
Loads of room outside too which is also very well equipped.
Would definitely recommend.

Snipe Barn was an ideal place to stay and celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. Our oldest guest was nearly 80 and youngest was 4 and it worked really well. We didn’t do half the things we meant to do so should have stayed longer!

This property has everything you need for a hosting a large group of friends and family for a few days. There are 4 different socialising areas (where all of your guests can fit!) which allowed for a full sit down meal inside and outside and a pre dinner drink and chat in the lounge. The design and finish of the property is very stylish and the finishing touches made by the byquince team really add to the appeal of the property. I would use the property again for this type of get together and it's clear from the guest book that many others feel the same way. The courtyard at this time of year had an amazing smell with the lavendar and other plants, it made for a very enjoyable day spent chatting with friends on the outside table and chairs. Keep up the good work!

Amazing stay at the Snipe Barn, my bridesmaids and I stayed the night before my wedding, we got ready there on the morning and a big group of us stayed afterwards.
It was beautiful and had everything we needed (with an outdoor bath as an added extra!) The photos of us getting ready are perfect. I would love to stay again!

It was a beautiful property and much bigger than we expected. It is decorated immaculately and everything was at a very high standard.
The only recommendation as a family who caters a lot would be it needs to be slightly better stocked in the kitchen with serving platters and bowls. We also did the walk along the river Thames to the trout pub which we were expecting to be half an hour (maybe an hour with kids) like the booklet said but it took us an hour and a half, so we were late for our booking fortunately the pub was very accommodating.

A beautifully appointed barn conversion in the middle of a nature reserve. Fantastic amenities with everything you need for a wonderful family gathering. The Manager was extremely helpful upon arrival and they even provided a Christmas tree and a luxury welcome hamper.

Booked this accommodation for a special birthday occasion for a family group. On booking I recall thinking it’s expensive, but nevertheless I booked it. Speaking just a few days after we left I look back on a wonderful long weekend, a winter trip (cold outdoors) so we spent a great deal of time in the property, and my view is that it was worth every penny of what we paid. All those who joined us agreed it was a wonderful trip and the property also made it, wonderful Beds/bedding, great furniture/furnishings too!

We didn’t anticipate the power cut that happened during Friday night until late afternoon Saturday but the wonderful neighbour came round with flasks of hot heater which was much appreciated especially for making baby milk for my granddaughter (sorry I can’t recall her name)
