We enjoyed a delightful week long stay at this pleasant cottage, finding it spotlessly clean, very comfortable and adequately equipped. I wasn't confident enough to attempt to negotiate the car bay provided so I echo previous reviews in requesting a parking permit for the stay as you have a choice of 3 car parks, all in close proximity.
Cute cottage in quirky Buckfastleigh

Really liked Buckfastleigh - quiet, quirky, beautiful setting. Recommend the abbey, Singing Kettle, Number 44 and the organic food store in Fore Street. Cottage was well equipped, rustic and very central. Parking best in town car parks which are all nearby. Location, while mews style, made us feel part of the town and great for people watching! A great stay. Special thanks to Katie at Coast for all the arrangements.
Nice stay but a few issues

Overall we enjoyed our stay but there were some issues The building is lovely, simple but ‘just enough’ with the interiors Location is good for the hills but I’d have preferred closer to the sea, exact location wasnt available until booking, before booking it was seen on the site as 10 minutes from beaches, it wasn’t, it was 30-40, not too extreme but the traffic can be bad
We had a welcome basket which was a lovely touch. A few niggles with the cottage itself though…. The bath plug doesn’t work, water was going out as fast as it was going in The bathroom door is impossible to lock, just closing it requires pushing it hard The bottom of the stable door at the entrance to the cottage doesn’t have a bottom lock, so it’s all the door open or non, we could have done with just the top open done days for fresh air We like the charm of the cottage but it could do with a deep clean, all the windows had dust, dirt and dead insects in them. The village is lovely with just about everything you need. Although my husband said the pubs are not very family friendly, more like working mens pubs, we didn’t eat locally Lovely tea rooms and coffee shop The neighbouring residents do not really feel welcoming to holiday makers however. Especially where parking was concerned, on the last day we tried to get out car a little closer to load baggage, the locals were quite irritated and rude about this, considering we had been there a week without even using the small lane, we’d used the carparks, we were asked to move The direct neighbour has a workshop opposite and Sunday morning 8am he was out there making noise
I’d recommended the cottage for couples or lone travellers looking to hike locally, not families really I had a few wild swims in the river dart which were lovely and some nice albeit short local walks. Most activities require a bit of a drive so just bare that in mind
