We absolutely loved our stay in the shepherds hut everything has been thought of what it lacks in space is made up by the attention to detail everything you need is provided the location was amazing looking out over fields we used the fire pit every evening and enjoyed the tranquility
Myself and husband love staying here, will make it a yearly visit. Lovely walks to pub. Yurt is lovely tidy and clean.
We had a wonderful 3 night break. Lovely open site with so much space. Everything was thought out. Having a private shower room was wonderful as all damp stuff was kept out of our tent. We love to have a fire when we can and consider it part of the joy of camping so the provision of a fire pit and supply of wood kindling fire lighters and even matches was a wonderful touch. I can highly recommend this site for families. The local pub The Ostrich Inn is walkable to and serves really good food.
Firstly Jono, Natasha and Vanessa are THE nicest most helpful people you could ever hope to be hosted by. We had a griup of 12 + dog and every care was taken to give us a very warm and personal welcome. The tents are super warm, the beds INCREDIBLY comfortable and all the kitchen/shower elements would be right at home in a top notch hotel. The food they provided was so delicious and very generously portioned. It's such a gorgeous place in nature and frankly I'd like to live there and become part of the family.
We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. The location is amazing, so peaceful and quiet and you really feel like you are getting away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The hut was very well appointed with everything we needed, and the outside bath and kitchen were nice touches that enabled us to stay outside as much as possible. We enjoyed cooking the contents of the BBQ Retreat Box that was waiting for us when we arrived on the fire pit. We will definitely return.
Just perfect! Beautifully equipped, cosy and great location. Hosts were so helpful and we loved Venn! Great walking and stunning views. Easy walk over the toll bridge to the George every night too. Fabulous wagon that has been beautifully restored. We loved the log burner and really appreciated the welcome gift of eggs/milk/tea etc. Incredibly comfy bed, so cosy at night. Enjoyed the Mawdach Trail to Barmouth and back and the New Precipice Walk - oh the views! Would love to come back again in Spring. Gorgeous location over the estuary. Feel very lucky to have stayed here and Martha our Springe...more
The safari tents were even better than the photos! Really clean, cosy and well equipped. Jono was really helpful and there was loads to do in the surrounding area.
Our only thing was we couldn't light the pizza oven as alot of the wood provided was too wet. Apart from that we had a lovely time
Had a lovely 2 night stay, beautifully kept accommodation and grounds with a great host. Perfect location for relaxing or exploring.
My wife and I had a wonderful time here. We were looking for peace and quiet and that is exactly what we got. Great area with a good amount of places to visit. If seclusion is something you are looking for then this is ideal.
We received a warm welcome on arrival the milking parlour was everything we hoped for and more. I booked this for my parents as my Mum has walking difficulties and it was ideal clean and spacious we everything you could need for a stay great location
Had a wonderful weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lovely place to stay in a small forest secluded area. The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. Clean and comfortable, limited mobile network which actually worked in our favour, no distractions. Lots of places to visit on the east coast, some beautiful scenery and drives through small villages. Would definitely go again.
really luxury glamping accommodation with lots of great touches, not least the electric blankets to warm all the beds on a chilly british evening! great home cooked food was lovely to arrive to. fantastic to have electricity, but the most beautiful attraction is the setting ... breathtaking and well maintained.
Was an amazing stay the owners was very welcoming and helpful, the pod was so cosset and warm was such a peaceful weekend. Highly recommended
We stayed at Barleywood for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hut was very well equipped, spotlessly clean, and everything you might want was provided including a fantastic welcome basket of goodies. The hut is very secluded from the other hut/caravans, and the hot tub, which is really well maintained, had wonderful views over adjacent fields. Barleywood is only a short drive away from the north Norfolk coast and pretty Fakenham. I would have no hesitation in returning.
Well what can I say 10 out 10 Amazing ticked all our boxes and can’t wait to go back with my family .
Myself, husband and 3 children (aged 7, 12 and 16) loved staying here and looking to come back in the near future! The hot tub was a huge hit and even though the weather was typical British autumn weather we spent most of our time sitting outside playing board games and spending some quality family time together. There are close by amenities within walking distance along the canal.
This trip was amazing from start to finish, after a gruelling 9 hour drive, our check in time was kindly brought forward. The hut was so remote, hidden, and beautiful. It has its own private bit of the river below, a bbq area and extra seating on the balcony area. Inside each little thing has been thought out, from a very welcome bed through to the kitchen which has everything you need to a bathroom provided with shampoo, conditioner, sprays and cleaning products. A basket with eggs, milk, home made jam, bread, coffee, tea and cereal and orange juice was on the side. It was so homely and so ni...more
Incredible place & views. Owners were amazing & very caring. The shepherd's hut is beautiful. Overall really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for everything.
We had an absolutely fabulous week in this property. Plenty of room for two adults and two very large dogs who appreciated the paddock. Everything you could possibly need for your stay. Excellent location, surrounded by beautiful woodland and countryside. The Owner was friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Can't wait to stay here again in the future.
We stayed a couple of nights, luckily in good weather and with the site to ourselves. The eating area was a nice place to relax during the evening.
Wonderful location and the caravan is beautifully presented. The owners couldn't do enough to make sure your stay up to expectations. Only draw back is if you're over 6ft tall you may find the sleeping a little uncomfortable. Well worth a visit.
Absolutely loved our stay at Tall Trees! Everything was perfect and we couldn't fault a single thing! Beautiful location and gorgeous lodges. Every detail was carefully considered from the positioning of each lodge to allow for privacy, down to beautiful bedding on THE most comfortable beds. Loved the wood burning stove for the chilly evenings/mornings and must mention that the bathroom was as good as any top hotel. This was glamping at its best! Jono the host was the perfect mix of attentive whilst allowing us the freedom to enjoy our surroundings. We booked 3 of the lodges with 11 family m...more
Great place to stay, lovely hosts. Only fault we found was that the fencing doesn't stop small dogs running out of the meadow onto the road. Other than that it was perfect
Perfect location for a secluded relaxing weekend, pods were extremely comfortable and homely with all the amenities and more. Paula and her daughter were very very welcoming and accommodating. Not a single thing to fault and we will definitely return at a later date.
Beautiful place great location only things is the sofa bed was really small and uncomfortable and could do with a bigger size mirror in bathroom but apart from that really nice place to stay
We had a wonderful weekend glamping in Bleasdale. This is an amazing site with everything that you need. The area was beautiful and the tents were amazing. We are used to camping in our own tent so this felt luxurious! I would highley recommend this to anyone! It was expensive for us but we do hope to save up and go again at some point.
My family and friends stayed at Black Pig Retreat and had a wonderful week. The safari tent was thoughtfully supplied with everything we could possibly need and the kids loved bug hunting in the meadow and walking through the woods. It was wonderful having a fire in the evening and toasting marshmallows and sitting on the veranda with a coffee in the morning. The accommodation was comfortable and I loved the wood burner. Only two suggestions. Little lights on the steps at night as it was very dark going up and down the steps and a flatter area for the fire pit as chairs kept rolling down th...more
The tent is on a beautiful site, very peaceful, surrounded by woodland for walks. There are 6 tents I think, but all very well spaced out and you couldn't hear each other at all. There is a pond at the bottom of the garden, which is fenced off, but still has a steep drop, so keep an eye on smalls heading down there. The tent itself had a great fire pit, a picnic table (very handy), enough patio furniture for lots of people, and very comfy beds with lovely white bedding, and lots of fluffy blankets. The fire worked very well, the wood is plentiful and free, which makes a nice change, and we man...more
Loved everything about it. We were so impressed how clean everything was and how much was fitted inside the yurt. We loved the location as we love walking to country pubs but if you don't like walking you will need a car to get about. I cannot say anything negative about this lovely place to stay.
A very plesent stay with a lovely warm welcome. A lovely secluded spot at the bottom of a garden. All you would need for a short stay can be found at the pheasent. The one and only little thing I could say would make the pheasent any better, would be bug nets on the windows and fly door curtains/ strips. As quite a few flies as would be expected in the countryside. Ut for anyone like me who likes the outside but not the bugs, I like to have a safe haven away from them.
We had a two night stay at the accomodation it was just as we imagined. It was a little chilly at night but the hut had an electric heater which helped. There was plenty of room for two and the dog. Outside there was enough space for the dog to run around too. If you want to go to the pub which is located on site it's best to book a table in advance. Thankfully the weather stayed nice all weekend so we were able to get out and explore
The place was quite great as you could really feel totally shut off from the usual hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle. Being in the middle of the woods, and surrounded by greenery everywhere makes such a difference and is quite relaxing. The ammenities were quite good as well and, being able to have camp fires in the night was quite memorable. Although the place can be quite chilly at night, there were heating blankets in place and the fireplace was quite handy as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this luxurious shepherd hut. All the added extras that were laid on to welcome us were a beautiful and appreciated touch. The host was always contactable and on hand to offer advice on places to visit. For gin lovers, a trip to the Bombay Saphire Distillery is a must! This beautiful hut really does have everything you need for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
We loved the glamping experience and enjoyed the peaceful setting at Black Pig Retreats. The safari tent was well equipped to a high standard, with attention paid to detail. The hosts were friendly and helpful. As a family of 6 it was a little more cramped in terms of the 'kitchen' area for cooking and the fridge space was very small. Additionally, there were only 4 chairs at the table inside, but that wasn't a big deal as we didn't eat inside very often. As the great British weather was a bit disappointing it was lovely to have the wood burning fire inside in the evening when it turned mo...more
Lovely relaxing 2 night stay, comfortable and cosy. Outside bath was a lovely touch. Had a slight issue with the hot water but got resolved quickly. Track road to the location quite uneven but did not affect our stay. Would definitely come back.
Our stay was good, positive customer service. There are a few cosmetic changes that would be great e.g. the heights of mirrors, Some people may be too short or too tall so the mirrors may need to be bigger in length. The tent was secluded which was lovely but having to carry our luggage to the tent from the car was bothersome and would not suit those with physical disabilities.
The break in itself was lovely and the location is beautiful, very peaceful and plenty of nice walks. The honesty shop is good (could do with stocking bottles of water) and has lots of charging points and plug sockets. The Tents themselves were positioned brilliantly but unfortunately the cleanliness was not great. The toilet light was not working something which we feel could have been sorted before we arrived. Also we paid the extra money for a hot tub which we were lead to believe had to be paid as an extra sobit could be prepared for us but unfortunately this is not the case and when we ar...more
We arrived to find two yurts, not the bell tents as shown on the website. This was a disappointment. There was new carpet on the floors, but it was so bumpy. It would have made sense to level the ground before setting them up. In one yurt it was not a proper bed but a futon. It did not lay flat on the bumpy floor but curved in the middle. Anyone with a back problem would be in trouble. A lot of the kitchen ware was not very clean. The cupboard would not close, so could not be used. We cannot fault the shepherds huts. At no point during our visit did anyone come to say hello or...more
