The chic interior is well-equipped and perfectly formed with double doors opening out to a decked terrace, inviting the views inside. There’s a lovely living area complete with sofa and TV for unwinding in, a dining area and kitchenette for whipping up and sharing home cooked meals, and an ensuite bedroom with comfy double bed. Outside you’ll discover a decked patio where a bubbling wood-fired hot tub, firepit / barbecue and outside furniture await, and here, guests can laze the hours away whilst taking in the beauty of the views down to the Lower River Axe.

Just a 10 minute walk away, the Pheasant Pub (a favourite in the area) is a terrific place to while an afternoon or two away with good food and drink, or for those who don’t mind a short drive, The Ring O’Bells and The Burcott are also close by. A wealth of nature-infused attractions such as Wookey Caves (about 8 minutes’ drive), Cheddar Gorge, and Kilver Court and Gardens (both about 20 minutes) lie within easy reach, while Wells with its cathedral, shopping, restaurants and heritage sites, is the perfect day out. There are also several good beaches in the area including Burnham-on-Sea (with Britain’s shortest pier) which is about 30 minutes’ drive away, and the pebbly Kilve which is a little over an hour’s drive.

All guests will be provided with a Welcome Hamper, filled with little luxuries to help you settle in. Enjoy a prosecco or a beer on arrival, along with tea, coffee, long life milk, sugar, biscuits and chocolates for a relaxing start to your break.

Make your arrival extra special with our Hot Tub Package. For £26 the wood fired hot tub will be lit and warming beautifully ahead of your arrival so you can slip straight into relaxation the moment you step through the door. Simply add the Hot Tub Package as a bookable extra when confirming your stay.
If you expect to arrive after 4pm, please contact your local host so we can ensure the tub is perfectly timed and ready for you.

Exciting news: from July 2026 guests can enjoy exclusive on-site carp fishing with fish over 30 lbs. Pricing and dates to follow.

We booked this place as a short stay over Christmas and it did not disappoint. Absolutely lovely hosts. So helpful and responsive. The pod was beautiful. Warm and cosy. We were worried it would be cold due to the temperatures outside but we never had an issue. Hot tub was lovely once we had the knack of it. Really close to Wells and Shepton Mallet. Walking distance to walks and 3 pubs. Peaceful end to the year. Thank you!

What a fantastic place to spend a couple of nights; less than 20 minutes from both Wells and Cheddar and set within private farmland, these well appointed pods with wood fired hot tubs provide an ideal setting to forget the daily grind. Matt, the owner and point of contact for our stay was welcoming and invested in ensuring we got the most out of our stay. We have already recommended Apple Tree Glamping to others in our family, who plan on visiting early next year. Superb

Fantastic stay, in an amazing location. The host Matt was extremely friendly and welcoming, spent time with us talking about the birds and animals that were kept on the property. Bbq pack was definitely worth it, locally sourced and delicious. Would highly recommend for couples we stayed for 2 nights facilities are great, and well maintained. Hot tub was lovely and so peaceful. The views were fantastic and overall one of the best locations I've ever stayed in. Will definitely be making a return visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pod was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The hot tub water needed replacing after 3 nights due to a funny smell but a quick message to the owner and the water was changed within a couple of hours.

My husband & I had a lovely stay, we'd definitely recommend. Perfect short weekend break. The pod was well equipped, clean and quite cute. The hot tub was fantastic, takes a little while to heat but once it is stays hot for a very long time. When we arrived there were 2 small complimentary drinks and a chocolate each, lovely touch. There was also a folder with very clear instructions on how to use all equipment and hot tub. We also met the owner and he was lovely, very friendly and offered some suggestions of things to do in the local area and how far they were from the pods. Overall we loved it.

Loved the location, very close to Wells centre, Wookey, Cheddar, Bath, Bristol and more. It was easy to get to all these places.
The hot tub was easy to light and got very hot, maybe a little too hot for some! We didn't have any issues with the lodge or facilities it had.
Matthew, the owner, was so lovely! He answered messages an calls very quickly, he preheated the hot tub for us the arrival day, he gave some very good recommendations for things to do nearby, and we had a lovely conversation one evening when he came to give us more wood for the fire, a very friendly and humble man. We do plan on returning if we go to that area of Somerset again.

Such a lovely place. Parking was easy and simple especially when we arrived so late. Lovely owners who helped us with whatever we needed during our stay. Good supply of logs for the hot tub which was a lovely touch. Bed was very comfy and warm. Make sure to go visit the piggies they have on site!! Overall would recommend to everyone. As a solo female traveller this was an ideal place to stay as there is a coded gate providing extra security. The pods were very clean and tidy and had all necessary amenities. The view from the hot tub even on a cloudy day was beautiful. Good location, supermarket local pubs and other restaurants nearby. Short drive into Wells where there is a cathedral, coffee shops, gardens and restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, we're glad to show you the animals on the land and I was lucky to see the 21 piglets. Perfect for a peaceful break or a base to explore the local areas. I will be coming back!

We had such a perfect weekend. The pod is really well designed with fully equipped kitchen, power shower, comfy bed, indoor and outdoor table to eat at. The fire pit was fabulous to cook on and the hot tub was divine.

Have already recommended to friends and would definitely go back. We holed up for the weekend for a big chill out, but the location is perfect if you wanted to have a longer stay and explore the beautiful local area.

Matthew, who owns the site, met me on arrival and was very welcoming - and was super quick to help when we needed to buy extra wood whilst we were there.

Spent two nights away in Kingston Black pod, and it was lovely from start to finish.

A really lovely location, with lots to do nearby, in easy reach via car. Had a day in cheddar gorge which was a very easy drive to get to. The pod was fantastic with a lovely view, lots or privacy, and a little welcome drink/chocolates for us both which was a very nice touch. The hot tub was great a perfect place to relax after a day out.
A couple of pubs just a 10/15 minute walk up the road, which we had lovely meals at each. Would highly recommend.
We even got to have a wander around the owner’s garden to go see the pigs/ducks/hens. The owners were amazing prior to arrival at sending through details on how to get through security gates, arrival times, contact numbers etc….. and were very welcoming during our stay.
Will definitely stay here again could not fault anything about the little getaway, just wish we had booked to stay for longer.

We stayed for 3 nights for our 17th wedding anniversary. The property was immaculate in a wonderful location with fantastic facilities within the property and garden area. The hot tub was secluded and perfect for two.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Kingston Black for 2 nights over the weekend and had the best time. The owner, Matt, greeted us as we came through the door and made us feel welcome right from the beginning. We put some wood in the hot tub as we got there and it reached a lovely temperature for the evening, so I'd recommend doing this as soon as you arrive. We also added on the Breakfast Hamper, which was amazing, the quality of the ingredients were high, it meant we didn't have to gout in the morning and it lasted both of us two days (could've easily done three). The location is stunning, great views from the hot tub and seating area outside, a lovely place to watch the sun set. The pod itself had everything we needed, the smart TV is a great addition as we could watch TV and also listen to music, the kitchen area was fully equipped and the bathroom was plenty big enough with the shower never losing pressure or fluctuating in temperature. We walked to the local pub (The Pheasent) one evening which was only a short, pleasant walk away with lovely staff and good food. I would recommend this place to everyone, and well worth the price! Would love to return sometime.

The pods are so cute and clean. Hot tubs are such a great touch. The owner can’t do enough for you, helped us whenever we needed it, gave us recommendations locally. There isn’t much in the small town but we drove to the bigger town 5/10 mins down the road and there’s much more there (Wells). Would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Absolutely fantastic everything was perfect. Matthew was a great host, nothing was to much trouble. An absolutely amazing two night stay at Apple Tree Glamping. The owners made us very welcome! Me and my partner had amazing stay!! The pods were absolutely beautiful, nice and peaceful and lots to do within driving distance. We will be returning for sure!! Couldn’t recommend it more!!
