Came all the way from Seattle, WA USA and it was such a pleasure staying there. The cottage was inviting, cozy, clean and modern. The access to the cliff walks was just a few steps away and one am we had a herd of sheep go by on the road! Cooking in the kitchen was a breeze! The bathrooms were great. Just loved it- would like to come again! Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality!
We stayed at Silvershells for a week in August. The weather was changeable but the property's large widow meant we could enjoy the view even when it was raining. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The back gate onto the lane into Port Issac was a fantastic as it meant walking to and from the village was about 5 minutes. The only slight criticism was the size of the double beds which were rather small as we are use to a super king!
No problems. Nice large house right in the port with parking for approx 4 cars otherwise you have to park in the public car park (And pay) at the top of the hill and walk in. Well equipped with everything you need. Nice small garden with BBQ. Welcome pack was a godsend.....Everything thing was 'Cornish' nice gesture. A nice Co-op well stocked shop is just a short walk away. Also nice pastie and bakery shop. Nice restaurants and pubs in the port. A must is to book and have a meal in the 'Old School House' would recommed the 'Fish and Chips' you will not be dissapointed. Only problem was that ...more
This is our second stay at this delightful holiday home. Apart from the great location ( walking to the beaches at Polzeath and New Polzeath ) it’s so comfortable either lovely bright crisp decor , well equipped kitchen and space for our family of grown up kids and their partners. I also love the endless supply of hot water . The welcome hamper is breathtaking and really makes for a great holiday atmosphere from the start .Theres plenty of space to wash and dry wetsuits outside in the garden in private . We love this place
Wedge Cottage is a gorgeous modern holiday home in a peaceful countryside setting, close to the beach & amenities of Polzeath. Comfortable beds, spacious living room/kitchen & luxurious bathrooms will ensure we will be back!
This is a beautiful house in a spectacular location. The only negatives I can report is that the website advertised that there was a spa bath in the master en suite, however this is not the case. The bathroom has obviously been refurbished but the website hasn't been updated which is misleading. Also there were only 3 adults staying and the amenities reflected this I.e. The hamper was only for 3 people and the towels provided were only sufficient for 3 people whereas we'd paid the same price for full occupancy. If we'd have paid an 'under occupancy' price this would have been acceptable. In hi...more
A spacious well equipped house with good sized bedrooms and lounge area. Lovely rear garden and plenty of parking...& a pool table in the garage! Only two minor criticisms - the cooker is too small to easily cater for 10 and the recycling process needs sorting. This is the second time we’ve stayed at Webb’s Retreat & the 8th or 9th time we have used Cornwall Hideaways so we must be very satisfied!
Great stay at this amazing property.Very well equipped and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Plenty of towels and all bedding provided. The welcome pack was lovely and really appreciated after our long journey.
This is a good place to stay, and the house is clean, well furnished, comfortable and has everything you need. A problem with hot water was resolved promptly - excellent customer service.
We had a lovely 4 night stay at Tredagjack. There was a warm welcome on arrival from the Aga and the hosts (including the lovely collie dog Gordon who appeared daily with his ball ready for a game) who had left a delicious supper and breakfast for the following morning as well as all the essentials. We had great fun exploring the Lizard and surrounding areas using Tredagjack as a welcoming base to return to. Unfortunately we could not use the garden to full capacity as October 2019 was not really warm enough but it was a lovely space to relax in and read.
The facilities and situation were just right for a large family holiday. It included an age range from 6 months to 74 years.
Very comfortable warm house. Spotlessly clean and well maintain. If visiting this area of Cornwall in the future I would certainly return to this house.
Very clean and comfortable, shame about the garden. A nice decking area by the french windows and although we knew it wasn't suitable for toddlers, in our opinion, not suitable for young children either and quite precarious getting to the washing line!
We only stayed one night as a temporary measure, as the people in our cottage had not vacated the property, we should have been in. This is an excellent house to stay in. All the comforts of home and more. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. We would like to thank them for helping us out.
Situated in a nice quiet corner of the estate. Very comfortable and a lovely garden for children to play. Excellent all round.
The views and position of this property are second to none. It was clean and functional and worked well for us. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property. One note for parents of small children; if you’re using monitors, the connection doesn’t reach from the other bedrooms to the master bedroom so we had to keep them in the corridor and sleep with the door wide open and the volume on full blast!
Looks can be deceptive as from the outside this bungalow looks small. Go inside though and you’ll see what a fine job has been made of converting the interior to open plan living. The bungalow was very comfortable and quiet within walking distance of the centre of Port Isaac. The shepherds hut in the garden although we didn’t use it would be great when the weather’s good especially for kids.
This was our second stay at Little Gull and again didn’t disappoint. The cottage is a perfect size for a couple or small family. We stayed with our toddler and dog and found the place very comfortable with all kitchen amenities thought of. It felt like home from home. This is a cottage set on the side of an embankment so during winter months can feel a little damp on main bedroom but we were pleased it seemed additional ventilation had been added since our last stay and with heating on low this wasn’t a problem. I’m sure this isn’t a problem in warmer months. The weather was hit and mis...more
No WiFi is a blessing for me when on holiday but doesn’t suit everyone perhaps. Ideal setting for a small family.
My only negative was that there was cobwebs on the corners of the ceiling and round the windows as if the apartment had been shut up for sometime, other than that it was excellent. Clean sheets and towels and a lovely welcome pack on our arrival. Would definitely stay again
We were travelling as a family group of 10 adults. The house (and garden) had plenty of space for us all to be together but also enough space for people to escape from the group if they wanted to. The enclosed garden was great for the guide dog, and the gate out on to the fields at the back was brilliant for walks. The walk across the golf course to Polzeath was easy and pleasant, and from there the coastal path onto Daymer bay was fantastic. We did some self catering and the house had everything we needed to cook for a large group, and all being able to sit around one dining table was a b...more
The cottage was good for two couples exploring Cornwall by car. The situation in the gardens was quiet and all facilities are near but a car is needed for access. The cottage is well equipped and the hamper we found when we arrived was very welcome.
Perfect house for our family of two adults and four children. Plenty of space in the living areas with beautiful view. Great kitchen facilities for home cooking. Easy access to beach and village. Good to have outdoor hot shower and place to hang all the wetsuits after a surf.
Fantastic family holiday Bluebell facilities were brilliant - we all had own bathrooms - lodge in quiet location - enjoyed using the pool
We enjoyed a half-term holiday in Pentewen and had a fantastic time. The house is situated in the most amazing location and you have everything that you need. The hosts had kindly also provided essentials such as milk to get you going.
Overall very good. A few minor points: Better ventilation in bedroom would be good. It could become stuffy even with the windows open. Would prefer a lighter duvet in warmer weather A bit cluttered with ornaments. Remove some, particularly in bathroom. Artificial plants!
The house is spacious and accommodated our family , ages ranging from 70 through to teenagers, a toddler and 2 week old babe in arms, with ease. The house has a homely feel. We were able to use the sports facilities at the Point which means that cold or damp weather does not leave you stuck inside. The short walk, across the golf course to the beach was really handy. One drawback, not just of the house but of the whole of Polzeath is the lack of recycling. We made two lengthy journeys to Wadebridge and surrounding areas in order to dispose of recycle-able waste over half of which had been lef...more
Palm Trees was just ideal for our family weekend break, elderly parents, and their 3 children with other halves. Very spacious, light , warm and very well equipped with everything you needed. Short walk to the beach and local cafes, shops etc. Shame the weather wasn't kind for us but we had fun.
Nice location, beds are uncomfortable the down stairs shower needs a little attention to decoration, fairly comfortable for ten persons. We did have a good time and i would recommend Badgers Drift to a friend.
Very poor accommodation in need of a complete update. Pervading damp smell. Flies were a huge problem.
Had a lovely week in the cottage, super views, perfect location in port Isaac. Comfortably furnished, great welcome pack (Thank you!) And customer service EXCELLENT, thanks Rosina!
