Where to start... We stayed at Lower Carhullan for the weekend and everything from arrival to departure was excellent. The house is quite new still so everything inside is new, modern and of a very high standard. The kitchen has everything you need including two dishwashers!!! All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water for everyone which was great, especially since we all wanted to get ready at the same time to head out. We loved our stay this is a great place to get together with friends it was very clean and the property owner and Herdwick the Agent were lovely to deal with we hope to go back very soon.
Lovely cottage in a peaceful village, nice kitchen with plenty of pots pans and utensils - note there is no microwave, the hob takes a bit of getting used to but working through the instructions gets you there. We spent two nights in the Shepherds Hut in early April, we took breakfast both mornings and enjoyed the hot tub experience on our second evening which was amazing with the views and tranquility. Mike and Ruth were really helpful, our breakfast on one of the days included warm pastries with homemade jam. The local area offers some lovely pubs to eat and drink in. The butchers arms and the White horse offered us gorgeous homecooked meals both evenings, and we enjoyed a spa day in nearby Appleby on the Tuesday, around a 15 minute drive away. Whilst I slept very well and found the bed com...more
