Thank you so much Eliza and Richard for providing and sharing such a wonderful place to stay. House and setting is perfect in every way. Loved the laid-back informal approach. Felt like we were friends staying over rather than paying customers so to speak. All the very best and thanks again.
It was such a joy to stay at Travellers Joy! So clean and beautiful! Perfectly positioned in a gorgeous village close to Stow. The cottage was really well equipped to cater for meals but is also across from the local pub which served fabulous meals for a night out. Thankyou for all the goodies we received on arrival - Prosecco, fresh bread, butter etc, etc. Such a lovely welcome! Will definitely book at Travellers Joy again.
Once again my stay was just wonderful. The light touches matter and the complimentary coffee and biscuits from local providers were yummy. The location is perfect and tranquil. A storm hit and the Wi-Fi went out. But this was very quickly resolved. I worked remotely from here and honestly it almost like heaven. It’s my second stay for myself and my tiny dog and I’ll definitely be going back!
Manor farm cottage was utterly gorgeous, the cottage itself is a beautifully done conversion, and the furnishings are luxurious and modern, yet cosy. It had everything we might require, including cake and wine on arrival!! It’s perfectly situated for easy access to lots of cotswold hot spots, while being in the most beautiful sleepy village, with easy access to rural walks. This is one of the best holiday cottages I’ve ever stayed at. Staycotswolds was also great at promptly working with us when we needed to make some date adjustments.
We had a wonderful short break. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were perfect for my Mum who is slightly disabled. The other bedrooms were all comfortable and the bathrooms a great size. The kitchen is a lovely family room that has a sofa for everyone to congregate whilst the cooks cook!!! We decided the house was so perfect that we ate all our meals here!!! Location was great for walking and we strolled up to the nearby Roman Villa one day. The garden is large enough to sit out and feel unexposed….with a great patio with table and chairs. Ample parking and very welcoming touches. We ...more
Lovely accommodation in a fantastic location. The barn was perfect for a couple, everything we needed was provided and of very good quality and was in the he grounds of the owners property. We found it very private and only saw the owners on our arrival. We appreciated the provisions they left for us, including beer from the local brewery. The nearest pub and well stocked general store were only 2 minutes walk away (and another 2 pubs within a mile). We wouldn’t hesitate to book this accommodation again.
Swimming pool was the reason we snapped the dates and it was a fantastic addition to the holiday. The cottage has everything you need and it’s in immaculate and super clean condition. Hosts are very helpful, always available as they live next door. We did not have a garden, but we had an outside decking area for our use. There is a field next to the cottage where our boys played football. Crocodile zoo and wildlife park only 20 minutes away -great local attractions. Air base opposite the cottage didn’t disturb us at all (a few planes fly in the morning and it’s super quiet in the night). T...more
Such a lovely property, very well situated (only parking is a bit tricky) and nicely equipped also for longer stays. We will definitely book again :)
Beautiful little cottage suitable for 2 people, excellent location just outside Stow. This was our second stay, perfect if you have a fury friend there are lots of lovely walks. The cottage is very warm, cosy also lovely touches were provided for our arrival. Great food at the Sheep on Sheep St.
Old Farm Cottage is a really lovely place in a gorgeous location about a 15’ walk from The Swan at Bibury but beautifully quiet and peaceful - birdsong fills the air and the garden at the cottage is wonderful with a choice of sitting front or back to catch the sun. Inside the cottage is a good size with all amenities- the log burner makes it cosy but it is very warm without. Comfy beds, good bedlinen and 2 bathrooms make it a great place to stay. We were 3 friends staying for a weekend away and with a bedroom each it was the perfect choice. We would certainly come back for another visit. Just ...more
We had a lovely break at Perry cottage with our dog. The facilities and level of cleanliness were outstanding. Everything was provided to make our stay a truly lovely experience. The bottle of wine, biscuits and fresh flowers were very much appreciated. So many beautiful walks and places to see in this lovely part of the country. We will definitely be back to visit the local pub which unfortunately was closed due to refurbishment work following a fire.
Absolutely loved our stay here. The house is supberb with so many original features and attention to detail in the pictures and ornaments that decorate it. The owner along with the neighbours made us feel so welcome, it really felt very special. The garden is south facing and a real sun trap. The village of Bourton on the Water is very pretty with some great attractions, great eateries, and lovely walks. Would highly recommend. If we return to Bourton which is very likely, there is no where else that we'd like to stay.
The Hayloft is a beautiful, well equipped and cosy character cottage situated in the lovely grounds of the owners and is opposite the Plough Inn in Cold Aston, which is itself a very small and very quiet rural hamlet in the Cotswolds. Cold Aston is perfectly situated for exploring all parts of the Cotswolds and combined with The Hayloft makes for a totally relaxing and peaceful place to stay, especially if you're looking to escape the crowds, enjoy the countryside and recharge your batteries. The Hayloft comes with all the creature comforts and equipment that you will need for a really comf...more
A very tastefully furnished cottage, conveniently just off the main road but absolute peace and quiet (no traffic noise at all). High quality furnishings and beds, good shower rooms, small but efficient kitchen. New smart tv and excellent Wi-Fi, which was unexpected. Well equipped generally - my usual ‘cottage kit’ wasn’t needed. Fresh flowers and a generous welcome pack of goodies was provided by the owners who live nearby if any problems. I’m sure we will return.
Most beautiful place we have stayed to date!! We will be returning again Very soon. Everything was perfection. Rob was very kind and helpful throughout our stay and Eric was lovely to speak to over the phone. Cottage was clean, comfortable and very cosy. Otto & Tavish are so gorgeous too xx See you all again soon Jenna & Simon and poppy xx
We loved having so many bedrooms and bathrooms for a family with grown children. They loved walking into Stow every day. However we were disappointed with the lack of basic supplies; i.e., toilet rolls, kitchen roll, only 1 tea towel for 8 people to use to wipe dishes and hands, nothing in the kitchen beyond salt, pepper, vinegar (is this due to Covid?). We came from abroad and can’t bring these things with us. Also, no manual to explain how to use the Everhot stove, no regular TV to watch live sport. It’s a good thing most of the week was sunny and warm so we didn’t rely on TV for entertainm...more
Fabulous place and surrounding walks, great for the family and the kids loved it. Recommend the circular walks near by
The house is beautiful and clean and very well stocked with everything you need. The rooms are very comfortable, we all had good night's sleep and it's very quiet so whoever else wakes up and gets moving first in the morning, does not disturb anyone else still sleeping. We had great communication from both Staycotswolds and Neil. It's not far from Broadway which has some lovely pubs. I would definitely stay here again and recommend. We had a great time.
This apartment is very clean and well equipped. The central location in Stow is handy for all local amenities including some good restaurants and bars. We parked in the longstay near Tesco which was only a short walk away. Very comfortable double bed. Would not hesitate to recommend and would stay again.
Can’t get better than Knoll cottage, the place is a family home and you will find it difficult not to feel at home immediately you walk through the front door. The management team have everything organised to run as smoothly as possible. I’ll give lots of stars to this place.
Everything was just perfect from when we booked the break from when we left. The cottage was beautiful and everything you could wish for, The owners had thought of everything to ensure your stay was catered for. The location was central to all the places we wanted to visit and the cafe Food Matters just a 5 minute drive from the cottage ,is worth a visit. Thank you to StayCotswolds and the owners of the cottage for a perfect break , We left with so many happy memories. We will definitely be booking again
Goodlake is the place to spend a long weekend with family (who you like!) Great atmosphere , everything spotless, tidy and welcoming with chocolates in every house ( small request for me would have loved fairtrade), heat on everywhere so very cosy, and easy to find everything oh and no shortage of toilet rolls which was brilliant! Everyone loved their accommodation and rightly so, and the superking beds were very welcomed! We had a couple of things to sort out on the Saturday, a few niggles like dishwasher clogged in one house, wheel on shower door off so not closing properly and a couple o...more
We had a good time. Excellent cottage. Good location and a pleasant change from Nottingham. We would definitely go again.
We enjoyed a relaxing few days in this excellently equipped cottage. The owners have clearly thought carefully about what their visitors require and I cannot fault them. Beautifully furnished and lovely location.
Great location, clean, comfortable and good facitilies. Parking space also included which was a bonus.
The cottage was perfect, but we found the hot water was extremely hot verging on boiling. The bath taps were very stiff.
What a great place. Right off the town centre but you would never know it. Quiet residential street only steps from pubs and the main part of the town Super comfortable house with everything you need for a great stay Towels, hand soap and hair products so no running out to the shops for that Item you forgot FULLY stocked kitchen which was spacious and a great place to knock up a great breakfast with meat from the local butcher (Trev Beadle) which had amazing bacon and sausages We loved our stay
We had a great week at Shaven cottage. It's very comfortable, with high quality furnishings. Very conveniently situated to explore the Cotswolds. Had everything we needed for an enjoyable family get-together. (Parking restricted though, we parked across the road most of the time)
Lovely weekend in the Cotswolds exploring what it has to offer - and it didn't disappoint. Stow on the wold as base was an excellent choice.
A very pleasant time was had by the entire family in wonderful surroundings in a house that catered for all our needs. We could not have wished for a more relaxing few days.
Absolutely loved the cottage - super clean and had everything we needed. Location was great too, 5 minutes walk to the high street. Lots of lovely pubs ! Just what we wanted.
Absolutely highly recommend. Beautiful house, great facilities, very well equipped kitchen. Flo and Dave were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back again!
We stayed 5 nights and loved staying at The Cotswold Lady. Beautifully updated and decorated. Comfortable and high quality bedding. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Loved staying at garden cottage over the long bank holiday weekend. It was a perfect location for exploring Chipping Norton and beyond with great walks on your doorstep. We especially loved the hot tub!
A perfect house for visiting the Cotswolds - we had a wonderful weekend and would thoroughly recommend it
Great apartment, beautifully decorated with a rooftop terrace. It even has a perfect view of the church from bed!
Our only negative comment, and it’s not really that negative is,……be careful of the hood top over the range, the scars on my forehead will attest that cooking can be hazardous!
What a stunning part of the country. During the busy Burford festival, hosts were attentive and helpful. The house is amazing and all I wished was that I owned it myself. Roses were in full bloom and amenities were spot on. Lovely and quiet and you really felt like alone in the country. Suitable distance from all nearby villages and pubs and although a bit pricey, it was peak season and well worth it and I'd love to be able to stay there again. Thanks!
We stayed here in November while we were getting married, and couldn’t have been happier. The barns were cleaned to a high standard and beautifully decorated, with everything you could possibly need for a stay. I did a lot of cooking there and found the kitchen had everything, even things I would have forgotten myself! There were also many thoughtful touches, for example food basics when we arrived. Caroline and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive, and reassuring that if we had any requests they would do their very best to fulfil them. For the stay itself we were left to our own devic...more
This is such an amazing place to stay if you are a couple coming to the Cotswold's. Aurora is so beautiful with everything you need to a great stay (BBQ, outside seating, lovely farm with great facilities and a private road outside so virtually zero car noise). Easy distance to all the great towns and places in the area and brilliant for walks. We can't wait to come back!
As a party of 13 (including 3 children under 10) and a dog the layout of this house and the annex suited us perfectly. It is in a very peaceful location with plenty of walks on the doorstep and the local pub about a mile away but you need a car to get to shops etc. We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to visit the Cotswolds and thank the owners for their extremely speedy response to our contact.
Booked this charming little cottage for a weekend stay when my daughter and mother in law decided to pay us a visit from Sydney. My wife and I loved our first visit to Bourton-on-the-Water, so we were so excited to find this place to stay in one of the prettiest towns in The Cotswolds. Communication was excellent leading up to the stay and no problem checking in. It's charming, cosy, well located and ideal for a couple, small family or 2 couples. We loved the welcome wine too. Would highly recommend!
Great accommodation in a beautiful location. And a very responsive owner who was more than happy to help out with any queries. We’d definitely recommend to friends and family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cottage at Robins Roost. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable week away. Location is perfect as it’s just a 2 minute drive away from Bourton-on-the-Water and close to other attractions as well. Our only comments would be that the parking space is a little tight if you are bringing a larger car, and check in time of 5PM was a bit later than we had planned. We couldn’t do much before as didn’t want to leave our car anywhere when it had our luggage inside! All in all a lovely stay for enjoying a week in the Cotswolds.
Stunning house ! Stunning location ! Very close to the town and close for field walks for the dogs ! The house was amazing very clean and well presented and the secure carport for the car was a bonus as was the hottub for a soak at night !!
We would absolutely recommend ‘The Brewery’. It was exceptionally comfortable, a great space, a fabulous ‘home’ and perfect for a pre wedding stay for six people. The short walk to the village was ideal and parking of cars never a problem. Burford is a small, bustling village, where there is something for everyone - cream teas to die for thanks to Huffkins bakery.
Beautiful cottage , high spec , wonderful location , very well equipped, comfy beds …would definitely return
A very sweet little duplex for two couples. Wifi didn’t work, although we managed as we’re only there for two nights. Didn’t have time/didn’t think it was worth trying to get sorted with the host. Good location on Burford High Street with nice breakfast options. Expensive for what it was but can’t complain about much at all.
The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of space with good heating and comfortable chairs both inside and outside. The bedrooms were comfortable and the hosts welcoming and helpful. Everything was very dog friendly with a secure garden and our dog had a great time playing with their dog. The only comment I would make is that although the bathrooms are still pretty good they are beginning to show signs of wear and tear - this is why I set the condition to 4 rather than 5.
Great place to stay. Beautiful, clean and right in the center of town. Walk just about anywhere in Stow in 5 min.
Lovely property for family get together. Good pub in village and lots to do within short driving distance.
This is our 3rd stay at The Barn so that speaks for itself. The barn itself is beautifully done has lots of space ideal for large groups. Well equipped with majority of the rooms having an en suite, plenty of wardrobe space. Kitchen/dining area is fabulous keeping everyone in one space for cooking and eating plenty of space to all muck in. Plenty of crockery to go round. The space we enjoy mostly is the outdoors patio area, very private and sunny. New furniture and BBQ have been purchased since our last visit, nice to know they are constantly updating things. Would definitely recommend.
The apartment was exactly as advertised and furnished to an extremely high standard. Spotlessly clean, excellent beds and bedding which is always important. Despite being right in the centre of town very quiet at night. Parking a bit of a challenge but this is made clear so no surprises. Really couldn’t fault anything! My only suggestion would be regarding a welcome pack maybe? It would have been nice to have a dishcloth and maybe a few dishwasher tablets and coffee pods? A pint of milk in the fridge? But nothing that spoilt our enjoyment and will definitely be back again. Thank you
We are a family of 10 adults, a baby and 3 small dogs and Folly View was perfect. Often it is easy to find the number of bedrooms but not a living room we can all be in comfortably together. This property had a large living room which allowed all of us to sit comfortably and kitchen- diner that made meal times a joy The property is very well appointed and the kitchen utensils etc all plentiful and in very good condition. There was even a spare fridge in the boot room, and snuggle blankets in the lounge. The location was great as we weren't far from some very excellent restaurants and pubs, a...more
Great location for a visit to the Cotswolds, All you need for a pleasant stay. Quiet area just outside Bourton on the water.
We loved our weekend at Bunt Barn. There is lots of space inside and out to relax. The barn was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The setting is very beautiful and picturesque.
Will's cottage is roomy, comfortable and lies in a quiet spot, with great views over the hilly, green countrysite of the Cotswolds. The host and hostess were very helpfull when my wife had a dental problem. It was a pleasure to hear Will tell about his farm.
Excellent property. Cooking facilities outstanding and everything you would need from an equipment point of view. The apartment is very well laid out and spacious and has very comfortable furnishings including the beds. Although it is a busy village square, parking was never a problem and we didn't have to use the car park at the end of the street. A good base for exploring other towns and villages and plenty of walking nearby. While we have been to various parts of the Cotswolds in the past, we discovered Burford Garden Company - wow - what a place - not your normal garden centre but if y...more
3 generations together for a week. We had a fabulous time. Our party consisted of 8 adults, 2 twelve month old babies and 3 nutty spaniels all of which had a great time. The lovely house was bright and spacious. Wifi was excellent - my son and his wife were able to WFH. Large utility room that easily accommodated 3 dog crates where the dogs slept and ate. We brought 4 bikes with us. The surrounding area was great for cycling. Unfortunately there was nowhere to store them. We had lovely hot weather; full sun all day for 5 days. The back of the house is in full sun with absolutely no...more
Beautiful stay in Vespers! It’s equip with everything you could need for a hideaway weekend yet close enough to walk to beautiful countryside pubs or drive into Burford/Oxford. Would highly recommend and stay again! Thank you! Also, using Stay Cotswolds was easy and would again recommend.
Although generally both Prince and the barn were clean there were a lot of cobwebs. In the bedrooms on the bedside tables. Which should be visible.
This property was so much better than we thought - and we were already pretty impressed with the photos on the website! Everything you could need was there, children's plates and bowls for picnics, a hand liquidiser, hairdryer, iron and board, clothes hanger and pegs plus cleaning equipment just in case. The beds are super comfortable and the sheets are so soft! (Off to buy the same ones today!) The garden, hot tub and views were the icing on the cake. I especially loved the dressing area in the master room, such a wonderful touch. Walking the dog was so easy from the gate in the gard...more
Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. Clean and well kept, well equipped had everything and more in the cottage. Lovely garden and great location. A 5 min walk to the town and had wonderful walks right on your doorstep. Definitely recommend this cottage.
The annex was lovely. Quiet location. Lovely big garden for the dog to play in. Close to lake walks and fishing lakes if that's what you like to do. Didn't take advantage of the local area as we were unable to take our dog to many places but was ideal to de- stress and unwind.
Excellent location at the top of the main street. Beautiful little town with plenty of interesting shops, pubs, walks and steeped in history. Chocolate box pretty! The cottage itself was lovely and clean, beds extremely comfortable - slept like a log! Loved the little courtyard/decking area which caught the sun. Spent both early evenings sitting on here chatting with a bottle or two of fizz before heading off for delicious meals in the town. Within an easy drive of Oxford and we visited Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat farm shop en route. Charming stay!
Our week at YewTree Farm House was perfect. With 11 of us staying in one place it was going to be a tall order to satisfy everyone but there was more than enough space, indoors and out. The house is beautifully furnished, and the garden too had everything we could possibly need. Extremely well located with walks on the doorstep and quick journeys to nearby shops and attractions. Thank you.
We all thought it would be an advantage having grab handles in the shower room especially the room on the ground floor as quite likely to be used by someone with mobility issues. We loved our stay here for our annual get together
The Brewery House is super place to stay in many ways. The site is very quiet, rural and picturesque and the house is well equipped and very spacious. It is ideal for couples as each bedroom has an en suite bathroom. There is plenty to do in the area and lots of excellent walks. There are several National Trust places worth visiting, especially Hidcote if visiting late Spring or Summer. (The house could do with a lick of paint in places and a couple of tablespoons would have been very useful!)
A fantastic, beautiful, charming and authentic stay in the Cotswolds. Central location, a stones throw away from Moreton in Marsh and Stow on the Wold. We spent a week here and explored a new village every day, each one less than 30 minutes drive away. The cottage has so much character and is clean and well equipped. Yes we bumped our heads a few times but that was all part of the fun - overall we managed with a 6ft bloke and a toddler! Appreciated the thoughtful touches for children (high chair, travel cot, children's plates etc.) The village green with the little playground and the garden we...more
Had a very comfortable stay. The property was spacious and lends itself to family vacations. Nicely furnished and the kitchen has all you will need. You would need a car although there are walks directly from the property. Dog friendly - with bowls etc there should you need them.
The cottage had everything we could wish for in helping to make our stay comfortable. From the squishy cushions on the sofa, the fabulously beautiful decor, the scented diffusers, the super-comfy beds, the well-equipped kitchen (including a coffee-machine), a lovely little garden - and of course there’s so much to do in the area (including the pub just a 2 minute walk down the road)! Just a perfect base!
We had a fantastic stay at Blossom Barn. The shared courtyard and the field by the overflow parking gave plenty of space for the kids (5 and 3) to run around without travelling. However, it was also a great base for visiting various attractions - Steam Train Museum, Crocodile Farm, Cotswolds Wildlife Park, and Oxford natural history museum being a few of the best. The accomodation was comfortable and clean.
We stayed at the New Bakehouse recently and absolutely loved the house. The attention to detail was great and everything we needed was provided. It’s set in a lovely little village with a few local pubs. I’d recommend the Rose Tree as the best. It’s still a short drive away from the house so Unless you want a walking holiday I’d recommend a car to get about as it’s very hilly. Overall a great stay and a well needed break.
A family get together in an amazing house in a great location. The trampoline is a brilliant idea for the children (and adults !) Honeysuckle House - can't fault it .
Booked last minute for a long weekend. The cottage was clean and absolutely lovely, great location in the centre of town. Beautiful garden and I can see how the two properties can work for 6 people, although we didn’t use peppercorn cottage. A few minor considerations it’s an old house with uneven floors and wouldn’t suit anyone who’d struggle with this, there were a few things that could do with an update, the kitchen is showing wear and tear as is some of the furniture, however not so bad that I wouldn’t visit again. The property is dog friendly and very secure for your pooch. Really enjoyed...more
Great village location with lots of lovely walks around. Ebrington Arms provides hearty meals and only a few miles from Chipping Campden pretty Cotswold market town. Cottage arranged over three floors and whilst dogs allowed they can only occupy the ground floor which is a shame as the lounge with open fire is on the first floor. Small secure garden area adjacent the property for dog relief but better to walk around corner to open fields. Well equipped and nicely appointed, ideal for couples, small family.
Very nice cottage , lovely location, as everything you need. Only downside is parking not available on site. Apart from that very good indeed.
Lovely apartment and ideally situated for us to explore the town and the local area. Good for a romantic getaway.
Stayed here over the Jubilee weekend. The cottage is stylish with modern features while maintaining a cottage feel. A lovely surprise was the welcome basket. We really loved how the cottage was tucked away and it was really peaceful and quiet. Garden is like a tranquil oasis. Would definitely visit again.
Really enjoyed the house, the location was so convenient and Broadwell is a lovely little village. The Fox is a short walk away. It’s a good pub but I wouldn’t call it a great pub, for example the Sunday roast wasn’t particularly good but vegetarian options were good. There were two couples staying in the Nursery House and it worked well. The dining area was cosy and probably would have been a bit tight for 6 people. However, the patio and garden forms a natural extension when the weather is fine. The garden is secluded and we were able to make good use of it during our stay. The lounge ...more
We stayed here last minute as unfortunately our original house had a flood so was cancelled. I was a little concerned as I knew my elderly parents would need to climb a staircase but they said they could manage. The house was clean (apart from a few cobwebs which is to be expected in the country) and well equipped. So much space and the furniture was high quality. All three rooms having an en-suite was ideal! Paxford was ideally located for reaching many of the popular must visit towns. Unfortunately my Mum managed to trip up the 3 steps in the hallway! It’s a beautiful stone tiled floo...more
Church Mews is located right in the centre of Painswick and very convenient for walking, resting and simply enjoying a weekend in the country. The accommodation is very well fitted out, well maintained and has everything you need. One of the double-bedrooms is a little small but is very acceptable for a short stay period.
A belated 40th birthday celebration, originally booked for Feb 2021, but due to covid restrictions was moved to Feb 2022. 14 ladies, desperate for a weekend away from kids, partners, work and everything else, got together at the Snipe (Kingfisher) Barn for a weekend with lots of eating, drinking and laughter.....and that's exactly what we did! The Barn is beautifully and tastefully decorated to a high standard. Everything was clean and comfortable. The layout is brilliant and works so well for a large group. The walkers among us, enjoyed several miles in the surrounding nature reserve. ...more
We were in the middle of a difficult house sale and completion dates kept changing. We booked Fairfield cottage not only because it was very convenient but because Stay Cotswold have by far the most customer friendly booking system. We had to change dates twice but thanks to the help and cooperation of Stay Cotswold and Jaime Gould in particular , we were able to do this secure in the knowledge that we will get a full refund (minus booking fee) for the cancelled dates. This is in sharp contrast to other booking agents. I would be happy to recommend this company and would certainly use them a...more
Brief but enjoyable stay to celebrate my husbands 70 th birthday. Weather unfortunately was not kind.
Some very good points and one or two less good. The owners were exceptionally nice. Not intrusive but very helpful. The conservatory is a very pleasant area to sit particularly if the weather is unsettled. The kitchen is well equipped. There are good guide books to the Cotswoldsi min the house. On the other hand The staircase is very difficult The house is rather cluttered and old fashioned. There is road and train noise. The area close by is industrial: Stroud has an excellent Saturday market but the area is not “pretty Cotswolds “. It suited uqs because we were attending an event ...more
Really lovely tiny cottage with everything you need. So pleases and happy with our three night stay here! Woodstock is a lovely market town and we fell in love with the area!
We have stayed there 4 times now and just love it there. Broadway centre in only a 10 min walk away with lots of restaurants and cafes. We always walk up to the Tower with access to the walk literally across the road. Lovely little garden behind the house to enjoy a wine or two. Parking is the only problem if don’t want to walk in to town to get your car!
Lovely quiet location and beautifully presented inside and lots to do in the area, either if you are walking or by car.
Norton cottage is very tastefully decorated -comfortable beds - very close to the town centre . There were a few minor problems with the bath taps as shower toggle is loose and water spouts all around while water is pouring and hot water is scalding . And toilet seat also loose . We did phone the number given by Staycotswolds and after no reply we left a voicemail but never had a response . Wasn’t a problem for four nights but will get worse if left unfixed . A tower fan would also have been useful in the heatwave . But a lovely house to relax in and very cosy .
Milton House is a super place for a family gathering. We were 12 adults and there was ample space with the many rooms and facilities available. The kitchen is very well equipped, there are choices of rooms in which to eat - sunny breakfast room, large dining room and we used the great garden for barbeque and evening meal. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable beds with lovely linen. Bathrooms are good with 3 showers. Its location is situated centrally in the very pretty village and we were lucky to be there the day of the annual fete - quintessentially English! It was very easy to get to ...more
Lovely cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay all prepared in the cottage (eg cooking utensils, sheets, towels etc). Great decors throughout and particularly enjoyed the cozy living room with open fire. Christmas tree was a really nice touch during the festive season. View from the master bedroom was fantastic waking up to. Secluded location off the main street so very quiet. Very close to Daylesford farm or the nearest high street supermarket is less than 10min drive away. Great base to explore the rest of the Cotswold. Only recommendation would be to update the bathroom or els...more
Only drawback was a fan noise that was very loud at night, particularly in twin bedded room. Sounded like a mighty storm enough to keep occupants awake. We couldn’t find out what or where it came from. Otherwise all good.
Colin was a great cottage for exploring the cotswolds, it was comfortable and had a great kitchen setup with everything needed. Finding parking was difficult, Burford is a busy town so spaces were often full and parking near cottage is either parallel or on a hill. It is all free however which was good. The bed and furniture were comfortable and overall I had a great solo trip away.
Very basic kitchen equipment. Oven needed cleaning, bathroom basin cracked. Wet room floor in need of deep clean. Bedding and towels were clean and beds comfortable. Host was very pleasant.
Lovely cottage in a nice quiet location. Kitchen very well equipped! All very clean on arrival! We especially loved the garden with free view. That garden could do with a bit more comfortable garden furniture or a bench somewhere in the sun for a more relaxed seat when weather allows. Staycotswolds and Kevin the property manager responded very quickly and accurate to all our questions. Absolutely recommend this cottage!
THIS BARN IS JUST THE PERFECT PLACE TO SPEND TIME WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY, 6 ADULTS, 3 CHILDREN, 1 BABY AND THE DOG ALL UNDER ONE ROOF. PERFECT!!! EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS THERE FOR YOU. THE LOCATION IS STUNNING. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE RETURNING!
A quintisental Cotswold Cottage in Morton in Marsh High Street with its delightful golden stone listed buildings. Set on three stories it’s compact but tastefully furnished with quality fabrics and furnishings. The two internal stairs cases need to be given serious consideration as they are exceptionally steep and narrow. Apart from that it’s an ideal cottage, giving you the true feeling of being somewhere very different .
A comfortable property for 4 adults, well presented and in a quiet location. However, it could be improved by fitting an over-bath shower in the bathroom and by increasing the holding of the number of cups and glasses as with 6 of each it requires either increased washing up or dishwasher cycles.
Railway cottage just absolutely ouses of history. The house has bags of atmosphere and is situated in an area which has a real Cotswold feel. The kitchen facilities are great, and the garden is wonderful. We had good family times around the meal table and enjoyed sitting out in the garden. The sitting room is just fine. The bedrooms are absolutely adequate, although the beds vary somewhat in quality. There is a certain amount of traffic noise from the road in the front bedrooms. The bathroom is roomy and practical, although the shower is somewhat temperamental and produces a noise when in use...more
Lovely quirky cottage just a short walk from Stow centre. Bonus of allocated parking for when its busy.
Laurel Tree is a lovely, spacious, extended house with tasteful interiors, comfortable beds and two bathrooms with powerful hot showers. We are a large family group comprising 3 generations and ranging in age from 6 to 70 years old who stayed for 2 nights. The village is pretty with 2 nice pubs- we played skittles in the Farmers Arms and had a lovely evening meal in the Hollow Bottom. A great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We did the Crocodile zoo in Brize Norton and the Dragonfly museum in Bourton on the Water both of which we all enjoyed. If there's a minor gripe it's that the house wasn'...more
It was just a 6 day short stay for 3 of us who were looking forward to a rest and relaxation after a harrowing time. The situation of the cottage was excellent for this part of the Cotswolds and we made the most of it during our stay. The cottage was small and quirky but welcoming and the beds were clean and comfortable. It was lovely to sit in the warm sunshine at the top of the garden and to look over the extensive countryside and fields. The cottage was easy to find and handy for all amenities.
Lovely cottage with all modcons, great location, agent very helpful with our parking queries and we were able to leave our bags before check in time which was super helpful to us.only negative, double beds seemed to dip in the middle and the neighbour was very nosey looking in all the time, perhaps a blind on the door window would be good to ensure our privacy, but really enjoyed our stay and wld recommend, thank you.
Fabulous location and a quirky comfortable cottage for two. Immaculate and a very comfortable super king sized bed. Nice touch as provided with fresh milk and snacks. Everything you need for a self catering holiday break. Will definitely be returning when we visit the Cotswolds again!
Found difficulty in locating the property as the name Maize was not displayed. We were disappointed with the kitchen facilities for self catering, would have been better with a hob and pans for cooking full meals rather than just a microwave oven. insufficient cooking utensils, peelers, large jugs, draining spoons, boards etc. Coffee pot and teapot only suitable for one cup not for two people. No towel rails in bathroom and no heating there so towels don't dry.
Stay Cotswold and the house contacts were easy to contact and met all my requests. The house was in a beautiful spot in a local village, just missing a local shop. About 20 minutes drive from Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water. Beautiful welcome pack on arrival, bread cake butter wine coffee to get us started. All bedrooms were decorated nicely, twin room mattresses were not very comfortable but all other beds were great, en suite in one bedroom was a little small, useable for a petite person. Great amenities in the house and outside area,
We had a wonderful stay in Meadow Cottage, which is located in the beautiful countryside close to Oxford and the Cotswolds. The cottage is lovely decorated and has all the amenities and excellent beds. Small detail is that if you're over 170 cms the showerhead is a tad low. Would definately recommend for a stay.
We brought in the new year in this sweet cottage. Great kitchen, well equipped. Some rooms a bit low for a tall son. We situated for visiting the area.
The cottage is very pretty, with a lovely back garden, very comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, excellent showers and comfortable furnishings but a number of issues spoilt our stay. The village is certainly not peaceful, in fact the rush hour traffic starts at 5.30am., not helped by single glazed window., The farm at the rear of the property was also very noisy. The stairs are extremely steep, narrow and twisting - not made clear in the description of the property. As we are both over 70 this made life very difficult for us. The house was generally clean but there were areas where it was not: ...more
We spent an excellent weekend family get-together in Barnsley Cottage. Initially we expected 9 adults but due to illness we were 7 in total. We felt that had there been 9 of us, we might have felt somewhat cramped, and the small bedroom in the loft space would have needed to be used, compromising the privacy of the other loft bedroom. The loft space was uncomfortable to stand up in and would possibly have been more suitable for children. We were a little concerned that we did not correctly recycle our rubbish. Instructions could have been more specific. We arrived from four different ...more
This cottage is well-situated for Moreton in Mash and surrounding area. For that reason we enjoyed our stay, but we should have been told how steep and dangerous the stairs are, especially for two 80 year olds. Also, if we had known where the bathroom is situated, we would not have chosen to stay here. To have to walk through the second bedroom to the bathroom is not good at all, particularly in the middle of the night. You indicated this review would not go to StayCotswold. Why not, as they surely should be made aware of my comments?
