We stayed for two weeks for Christmas and New Year and it was fabulous. The house is gorgeously appointed and decorated, with all amenities for a cozy winter holiday. Family and friends all remarked how beautiful and yet homely the house is, and very convenient for some great pubs for dining plus Waitrose 8 minutes away in Malmesbury. Our dogs enjoyed the enormous garden plus the surrounding fields and woods, and never once did they catch the speedy guinea fowl after which the cottage is named. Thank you Richard and family and Stay Cotswold for our great holiday.
Manor farm cottage was utterly gorgeous, the cottage itself is a beautifully done conversion, and the furnishings are luxurious and modern, yet cosy. It had everything we might require, including cake and wine on arrival!! It’s perfectly situated for easy access to lots of cotswold hot spots, while being in the most beautiful sleepy village, with easy access to rural walks. This is one of the best holiday cottages I’ve ever stayed at. Staycotswolds was also great at promptly working with us when we needed to make some date adjustments.
Lovely accommodation in a fantastic location. The barn was perfect for a couple, everything we needed was provided and of very good quality and was in the he grounds of the owners property. We found it very private and only saw the owners on our arrival. We appreciated the provisions they left for us, including beer from the local brewery. The nearest pub and well stocked general store were only 2 minutes walk away (and another 2 pubs within a mile). We wouldn’t hesitate to book this accommodation again.
Our family (2 adults 1 infant) stayed at Meadow View at the end of October 2021 and could not rate it more highly. Barn loft has been recently renovated to a very high standard. Perfect location for families looking to to explore the Cotswolds or for Aircraft enthusiasts with the balcony providing a great view over RAF Fairford. We used the indoor heated pool twice during our stay which again has been recently renovated to a high standard - it’s basically a private pool area accessed only by the owners and the two holiday accommodations. Owners were fantastic and could not have done more to en...more
Would highly recommend this cottage , in a beautiful location. The hosts were were helpful along with the notes they provide about places to visit and eat. There is nothing we could fault and hopefully will get the opportunity to visit again.
My husband and I spent a lovely long weekend at slade stables 12th - 16th November 2021 , on the day of arrival we received a message from Jane the host to confirm our arrival time , she was there to greet us and show us around the property and explain everything we needed to know , and provided lots of other information regarding places to visit , local walks etc . There is nothing negative we could say about our stay , wonderful hosts Jane and Iain , a peaceful beautiful location ideal for visiting the many visitor attractions near by , accommodation a real home from home with a wonderful ...more
I called StayCotswold to book the Cotswold Lady the day before we travelled and the team were very helpful in arranging the last minute stay for two adults, a child and a dog. On arrival the Cotswold Lady did not disappoint. The cottage was very well presented, clean and immediately felt like home. The Cotswold Lady had everything we needed, including an attic playroom with some classic games, and is finished to a very high standard. The location is perfect with a cafe, two pubs and plenty of walks within walking distance. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again with bot...more
It was a delight to stay at Vespers it was clean bright and cheerful, with excellent amenities, and a great private space outdoor. I would have no hesitation about returning or recommending to anyone It was everything we needed great place to stay. John Beaumont
The accommodation was fine a short break it was all we required Comment for improvements are that the outdoor furniture is very tired and requires attention.
This was our first trip to the U.K. After spending enjoyable time in London we were ready to experience The Cotswolds. Staying at Twigs was like stepping into a Fairy Tale spot! The apartment was clean, bright, cheerful and so very cozy! We loved the convenience of being able to do laundry, prepare meals in the well equipped kitchen and felt pampered in a perfectly appointed bath. The bed was very comfortable too! Maybe best of all was being able to step out into the garden to enjoy the beautiful flowers and plants. Then, we loved coming inside as night fell, to start a lovely fire. We relaxed...more
An utterly charming little cottage leaving us wishing we could have stayed for longer. We had a wonderful stay, the cottage was cosy and warm and furnished to a high standard. The owners have really thought about the little extras to turn a holiday let into a holiday home and one that we are already planning to return to. We arrived on a cold day and the heating was already on and the property beautifully warm and welcoming. Cleaned to a high standard and a very detailed welcome pack if you needed to refer to anything.
Beautiful cottage, with outstanding decor and everything you’d need had been catered for. We stayed here with our one year old and it was the perfect break away from home. Considering re-booking for my mum’s birthday treat! Also amazing location, a short walk from Burford high street & everyone we came across was simply lovely.
Brook Cottage is a fantastic place for getting away from it all but with a great space for socialising and hanging out with friends and family. We had a lovely time with family celebrating my parent's Golden Wedding Anniversary with walks in the countryside and cosy nights in the cottage. There is a long drive down a farm track to get there but once there you are in the middle of the countryside with the village approx 1 mile away.
A very spacious and accommodating property. Our family group comprised 4 couples, 2 young children, 3 babies & 2 dogs so the house was at capacity yet at no time during our week stay did we feel on top of each other. The spacious lounge, and kitchen with conservatory, are great places to congregate and have a great view over the long garden and fields beyond. We saw some lovely sunsets. Dining in the large dining room was a pleasure and the adjacent boot room is ideal for dogs. The additional room at the front, and good broadband, was useful for adults needing a quiet space to catch up on wor...more
A fabulous family Christmas, spent in a cosy home , in a beautiful part of the world. Three wood burning stoves, excellent, a must for any Christmas house. It did take a little convincing though, as to how Father Christmas got down the chimney. We were 7 adults and three children under 5 , Shaven cottage worked very well for us . Good size rooms , nicely decorated, plenty of space for all to eat , play or disappear for a quiet moment. The Swan only a short walk away where we had an excellent Christmas Eve lunch. The little local park with the zip wire also proved very popular with the li...more
This was the perfect venue to celebrate a 60th Birthday with family. Accomodation was immaculate and spacious. Everything we needed was provided on site. The party room was perfect for our event and the huge paddock area was ideal for the children. We booked the whole venue and had the most fantastic time.
Please don't stay here. Otherwise it may not be available for me! Just the most stunning house and location. The Stay Cotswold team, the owner and the house keeper were fantastic throughout. One of our best staycations ever. Will definitely rebook.
Lovely apartment in a great location. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of places to eat and drink within a few minutes' walk. The only slight downside was the parking: on returning one evening we found that the allocated spaces were all taken up. There isn't any signage to say that the spaces are reserved for the apartments. As well as helping to keep the spaces clear, such a sign would have made it easier to work out where we were supposed to park when we first arrived.
We had a really enjoyable week at the Brewery which was very spacious and incredibly well appointed. The location was perfect, with plenty of good options to eat in very close proximity. Burford itself was also a fantastic place to stay and we were easily able to visit other local towns and villages from this base. We particularly enjoyed a day trip to Cheltenham. We would love to stay again!
The apartment is fantastic . Clean , comfortable , well equipped and the perfect location . A slow walk to the pub or a base to explore the Cotswolds . Perfect !! in every way
We stayed here in November while we were getting married, and couldn’t have been happier. The barns were cleaned to a high standard and beautifully decorated, with everything you could possibly need for a stay. I did a lot of cooking there and found the kitchen had everything, even things I would have forgotten myself! There were also many thoughtful touches, for example food basics when we arrived. Caroline and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive, and reassuring that if we had any requests they would do their very best to fulfil them. For the stay itself we were left to our own devic...more
Walking into the Ostlers to spend Christmas with gathered family was truly a holiday gift, with lovely decorations, a delicious package of treats, and a beautiful tree creating a cozy atmosphere on our arrival. The kitchen was (fairly) well equipped for preparing and serving large meals, and the house was large enough for a family of four adults to enjoy space together as well as some privacy. The only improvement I would recommend is the mattress in the master bedroom, as the bed was actually uncomfortable. Beautifully designed quality interiors. Scenic town with lovely shops and restaurants ...more
As a party of 13 (including 3 children under 10) and a dog the layout of this house and the annex suited us perfectly. It is in a very peaceful location with plenty of walks on the doorstep and the local pub about a mile away but you need a car to get to shops etc. We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to visit the Cotswolds and thank the owners for their extremely speedy response to our contact.
Perfect location to explore the cotswolds . Flat is perfect for a short stay it was very clean also had parking which is a big bonus . A social club less than 50mtrs away which you are aloud to visit or just a very short walk into town with a good selection of pubs ,shops and cafes .
We had a wonderfully cosy stay in Aurora. Waking up in the comfy enclosed bed to see it snowing outside was dreamy. Aurora had everything we needed and was the perfect place to get away from it all and relax.
Excellent house for a group of friends or family get-together. All bedrooms are spacious with en-suites. Nicely decorated and clean. Convenient location to the village pub and shop. Lots of nice walks nearby. Other reviews have mentioned the access road with cars to and fro from the pub - this wasn’t an issue for us but the lack of gate on the balcony could be a problem with people travelling with small children or dogs. We politely contacted the property managers with regard to there being no Welcome Pack on arrival as stated on the description and received in other reviews - we are still awa...more
The cottage is a relatively new build and the fit out and furnishings are of very high spec with solid furniture. It worked out really well for us with two adult children and one married. With the en suite shower room and full family bathroom and toilet downstairs it has great facilities for a compact size. The house is on 3 levels with half a staircase in between them, with good stair rails. This means the living room is separate to the sleeping floor and the eat in kitchen and laundry below, which suits different hours of sleeping/going to bed/getting up as those rooms can be noisy. We were ...more
We stayed in The Barn. The accommodation is very spacious and is extremely well appointed and equipped. We arrived after a long flight from South Africa and were very pleased to see all the necessary little things like coffee, tea salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, surface cleaner etc. The place is spotless, the beds large and comfortable and the towels are white and fluffy. The setting is beautiful and peaceful with a large lawned area outside where our grand-children enjoyed kicking a ball etc. Close by there is a co-op in Stanford-in-the-Vale and approximately 10mins away in Faringdon ...more
Excellent location, very comfortable and well equipped with a few nice welcome touches, right in the centre so perfect for exploring the lovely village.
A wonderful few days spent with our family - thank you. Super comfortable bed, lovely Ben linen and towels! Lovely kitchen, LOVED the cottage!
We had a wonderfull stay at the pool house, our hosts were perfect and always on hand if needed. The accommodation was immaculate and our stay was very comfortable. In terms of location it was quiet and you did need a car to get to the local shops but for us this was not a problem. The only feedback we would give in terms of the facilities was the following. The kitchen was great but we felt that it needed more cups, saucers, plates etc since it would have allowed us to use the dishwasher knowing that we had more crockery in the cupboard to use without the need to retrieve it from the dishw...more
Cosy, gorgeous house with great views in a small village close to all the well known cotswolds villages. Perfect place if you want a quiet break. Note: the property doesn't have a freezer, and ceilings are very low.
We stay here every year & it never fails us! Peace & quiet, peacocks, log fire, two sitting rooms, and best of all for us (8 women) all the beds can be split into singles - hard to fine elsewhere. Would highly recommend.
Booked Prince and Punch Barns for a group of 10. Both Barns were well equipped and served as an excellent base for day trips to Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Great for a relaxing, lazy break
The stay was just as described and was so beautiful. Me and my partner had a very relaxing and peaceful stay just what we needed to switch off. The owners were helpful when needed and responded quickly. We can no wait to come back.
Excellent property. Cooking facilities outstanding and everything you would need from an equipment point of view. The apartment is very well laid out and spacious and has very comfortable furnishings including the beds. Although it is a busy village square, parking was never a problem and we didn't have to use the car park at the end of the street. A good base for exploring other towns and villages and plenty of walking nearby. While we have been to various parts of the Cotswolds in the past, we discovered Burford Garden Company - wow - what a place - not your normal garden centre but if y...more
Folly View is a beautifully appointed building that is ideal for family and friend get togethers. All rooms and facilities were perfect in terms of size and comfort. The outside space is also great. We did find however, that the hot water ran out once we had all showered and washed up in the morning - 11 adults and 2 toddlers. We mentioned this to the property manager who immediately got the boiler re-set, but the same thing happened on each of the following days. By late afternoon/early evening however, the water was hot again.
Last minute booking. Lovely hosts and lovely place - dog friendly and clean. We’ll kitted kitchen. Had a lovely time.
We had three days and nights at the barn with 8 adults 2 teenagers and 3 toddlers. The barn offers lots a lounge space, large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, it has an enormous kitchen, and feels as if it has only recently been converted. The location is idyllic, off a very quiet narrow lane with super views over the surrounding countryside. Also the barn is within walking and cycling distance of Stowe on the Wold, where there are lots of shops and restaurants. We went on plenty of winter walks, and enjoyed getting back to a well heated barn. The price is expensive, and Stowe is expensive, ...more
Comfortable barn style accommodation with a lovely outside garden. Close to all amenities and some great pubs.
Had a very comfortable stay. The property was spacious and lends itself to family vacations. Nicely furnished and the kitchen has all you will need. You would need a car although there are walks directly from the property. Dog friendly - with bowls etc there should you need them.
Very spacious property. Great location. Was really well cleaned and had everything you needed. Have already booked for next year.
We really enjoyed the stay here and had a great time. Lovely quiet location in reach of nice walks, villages and Cotswold water park. There were a couple of issues which have been emailed separately, but overall very nice.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Stables. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious and the living room perfect too. The bedrooms were smart and comfortable and we found the ensuite bathrooms very good. We would recommend this as a great place to stay! We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and quiet surroundings. The heating was just right. We wanted to stay longer!
Lovely spacious house, ideal for 3 couples due to every bedroom having its own en-suite. Kitchen very well stocked with everything you require although could have benefited from a larger frying pan/wok. Beds were extremely comfortable however all 3 bedrooms were lacking in mirrors. 2 of the 3 only had a mirror in the en-suite and the 3rd had a dressing table but no mirror over it. However I am being picky here because overall it was a great property and we had a lovely relaxing week. The local pub is only a few minutes walk away as well.
Brilliant location. Tastefully designed. Beautiful place to stay, with everything thought of. Thoroughly recommend! Thank you!
A wonderful stay at Ivy cottage. We were two couples and a single. A beautifully decorated warm property. Only a few downsides. The dishwasher didn't work and had to wash up all week. The bedroom we stayed in above the lounge was beautiful but the bed was very uncomfortable and even springs poking through into my knees. This is the bed on the left as it's a zip together. The shower head needs a very good clean as lots of the streams don't run downward when turned on and soaked you before you got in the shower and the floor. The cottage could really benefit an end of season clean as cutlery ...more
We were in the middle of a difficult house sale and completion dates kept changing. We booked Fairfield cottage not only because it was very convenient but because Stay Cotswold have by far the most customer friendly booking system. We had to change dates twice but thanks to the help and cooperation of Stay Cotswold and Jaime Gould in particular , we were able to do this secure in the knowledge that we will get a full refund (minus booking fee) for the cancelled dates. This is in sharp contrast to other booking agents. I would be happy to recommend this company and would certainly use them a...more
We had an enjoyable stay at this well appointed barn conversion, it is well equipped and comfortable, the garden is lovely and improved from previous years and the outside furniture and large table are very convenient.
We had a wonderful time at Digbeth Views. You couldn’t get a better location, in the middle of town so everything is on your doorstep but tucked away so it’s still quiet and peaceful. The property was very well equipped and clean, and had great access to a number of beautiful walks.
This is a lovely property. We had a couple of issues, most notable was the dog hair. It was on the bedding, carpets etc. The property had obviously been cleaned, but if you are going to allow dogs then you have to clean better than that. I like dogs, I don't want to sleep in other peoples dog's hair. Also, I had requested twin beds for the children and their bed was made up as a double. I managed to split them myself and just about find anough bedding to do the first night. Oh, and there was no washing up liquid or dish cloths, the kind of things that you would expect to just be there. Havi...more
Lovely cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay all prepared in the cottage (eg cooking utensils, sheets, towels etc). Great decors throughout and particularly enjoyed the cozy living room with open fire. Christmas tree was a really nice touch during the festive season. View from the master bedroom was fantastic waking up to. Secluded location off the main street so very quiet. Very close to Daylesford farm or the nearest high street supermarket is less than 10min drive away. Great base to explore the rest of the Cotswold. Only recommendation would be to update the bathroom or els...more
Only drawback was a fan noise that was very loud at night, particularly in twin bedded room. Sounded like a mighty storm enough to keep occupants awake. We couldn’t find out what or where it came from. Otherwise all good.
Colin was a great cottage for exploring the cotswolds, it was comfortable and had a great kitchen setup with everything needed. Finding parking was difficult, Burford is a busy town so spaces were often full and parking near cottage is either parallel or on a hill. It is all free however which was good. The bed and furniture were comfortable and overall I had a great solo trip away.
Lovely cottage with all amenities. Clean throughout. Location is ideal with conveniences in walking distance We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Check in and check out was very easy, great location for us and beautiful cottage very relaxing holiday. We felt the cottage was modern which we like, cosy, comfortable, very well equipped, clean, a great layout for us and having WiFi and Netflix was a nice extra, loved the fireplace, really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Just a couple of points, the owner might have paid a lot of money for the kitchen, the extractor fan is not actually attached to the outside wall, so there’s a lot of stream in the kitchen when cooking. 2 chips cups in the kitchen cupboard Radiator in the upstai...more
We had a wonderful family stay at Upton Downs. The house is spacious and very comfortable and having the farm shop and smokery next door was great. The garden is huge and the toddlers loved running around and picking apples. There were a few essential things missing: no towel rails or toilet roll holders in any of the bathrooms. No large bowls for salad or pasta and no salad spinner. Having these would have made our stay even better.
THIS BARN IS JUST THE PERFECT PLACE TO SPEND TIME WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY, 6 ADULTS, 3 CHILDREN, 1 BABY AND THE DOG ALL UNDER ONE ROOF. PERFECT!!! EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS THERE FOR YOU. THE LOCATION IS STUNNING. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE RETURNING!
We stayed for a weekend and I couldn't recommend Orchard Cottage more. We didn't hear the horses at all, although they were there but caused us no issues. The place was spotless, we didn't want for anything whilst we were there. Got a bit lost getting there in the dark but rang and spoke to Bobby who was able to direct us. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend it.
A comfortable property for 4 adults, well presented and in a quiet location. However, it could be improved by fitting an over-bath shower in the bathroom and by increasing the holding of the number of cups and glasses as with 6 of each it requires either increased washing up or dishwasher cycles.
Lovely cottage in Ewen, a village we spent much time in when the Wild Duck was open. It was in good condition and there was a great Christmas decorations and a tree that greeted us. It was a tight squeeze for 11 (including 3 under 12) as the sitting room could really only sit 6, and there was only one bathroom upstairs servicing the four bedrooms apart from the master ensuite. It would have worked if the bottom bedroom had not been closed off by the landlord, as this was adjacent to another bathroom. Great that it had two fridges and big lovely open kitchen, and seating for ten, and a ...more
The cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The location was good as it is near most local attractions.
Our 5 day stay included staying over Christmas , it was a fairy tale as the cottage was this magical space where we chatted with our children, cooked Christmas dinner with the surroundings of the cosiest decor, we loved Bourton on the water. walking in the village and noting how picturesque it was with ducks in the water, lovely tea rooms and gift shops I highly recommend this cottage. It has something magical.
We really enjoyed our stay at Honey Cottage. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside and has a very warm, cosy feel to it. The bed is unbelievably comfortable and it really does feel like home from home. Although there is a pub in walking distance across the fields you will really need a car to get to Faringdon and surrounding villages. We tried on two different days to get taxis to go out for dinner but they all seem to be single car/single driver companies without any availability - not the fault of the cottage at all just something to be aware of! There's a great walk along the River Th...more
Found difficulty in locating the property as the name Maize was not displayed. We were disappointed with the kitchen facilities for self catering, would have been better with a hob and pans for cooking full meals rather than just a microwave oven. insufficient cooking utensils, peelers, large jugs, draining spoons, boards etc. Coffee pot and teapot only suitable for one cup not for two people. No towel rails in bathroom and no heating there so towels don't dry.
We enjoyed our stay at Indah Cottage for 10 days. When we had to cancel our original reservation from Airbnb due to Covid, StayCotswold was great with working with us to reschedule and keep same rate. They were very responsive anytime we had a question and we were even able to check in a little earlier after traveling from the US. Cottage was charming and as described. It was comfortable and in a great location. Beautiful front garden and deck in the back was lovely. Kitchen and bathrooms were updated but still kept their original charm. Very quiet location and walking distance to a couple...more
We brought in the new year in this sweet cottage. Great kitchen, well equipped. Some rooms a bit low for a tall son. We situated for visiting the area.
Great place to explore the Cotswolds. The house is very well depicted in the photos and the garden is really nice. Only issues were that some of the light bulbs could do with being changed and there is a small leak in the conservatory roof when it rains hard
Meadow cottage was a conveniently located cottage tucked away down a quiet country lane. We stayed for 7 nights and it was for 2 adults, a 3 year old and a dog. Although the cottage can sleep six we would say it would be “cozy” if fully occupied mainly because there was only one bathroom but for us this was fine. The main points we would make to improve the experience would be as follows:- 1. A microwave in the kitchen would have made our lives a lot easier having a toddler 2. The down light led lighting was constantly flickering to the extent we have to turn off. 3. A comment on ano...more
