We had a fantastic weekend and the house was brilliant - we will definitely be returning in the future
Central location for exploring on foot locally some lovely independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Also ideal for checking out other villages Stowe, Burford, Diddly Squat worth a visit. Spacious comfortable apartment with everything you need. Plenty of space for 2 couples with a dog each.
Gorgeous coach house, located with historic village centre with 3 dog friendly pubs within 5-10 mins walk all with great menus. Coop and coffee shop all within 10mins walk too. Great walks to lakes or following local footpaths. The Bow Wow was within 5 mins walk. The cottage was well decorated maintained, the bed so comfy and kitchen had everything we needed. WiFi was reliable. Bathtub in courtyard was a lovely bonus. We would not hesitate to return.
Very beautiful laid out small annexe with everything you need. Quiet and peaceful great looking out into the fields with lots of pheasants and other birds to watch. Plenty of places to visit in close proximity and nice eating places which we enjoyed. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay in the Cotswolds
The cottage was great and had everything you need great location and the organisation of our booking and communication was excellent and everything went like clockwork. We would definitely recommend this to all our friends and family as a great place to stay
My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Tansie House. It's a great location for a stroll into the town and pubs, with plenty of room to chill.
We had a wonderful stay at Ringers Cottage. It’s a beautiful cottage in a beautiful village and a short drive from lots of great places in the Cotswolds. The local pub was lovely. The cottage facilities were amazing. Difficult to navigate the stairs, as very steep and the top floor beds only suit small children. Ours are 17 and 12 and struggled with the size of the twins. The owner is very accommodating and helpful and if we were coming back without the kids I’d have no hesitation booking the cottage again, it really was wonderful. Thank you.
We were hoping for a quiet weekend away, and the cottage was absolutely idyllic. Comfortable beds and cosy furnishings made it feel like a home. The host was super communicative and responsive to our needs. The massive hidden garden was a plus!
We had a lovely weekend in Bibury, the accommodation was very pretty and we would highly recommend! Very close distance of 2 pubs and plenty of nice walking routes
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning cottage, and I can confidently say it exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful interiors—everything was tastefully designed and felt incredibly inviting. The cottage catered to all our needs, with ample space for our family to relax and unwind. The garden was a perfect size, offering privacy and a serene atmosphere that made our time outdoors truly enjoyable. Despite being right in the center of the village, the location felt secluded and peaceful, allowing us to truly escape fr...more
We had the most wonderful stay at the old stables. Everything was perfect and the owner Gerard is very welcoming and responsive. Highly recommended.
Butchers Flat met every expectation wanted when renting a holiday property. The very sensitive conversion is excellent, the decor pleasing, all equipment good quality. The Visitors information book is particularly good, clear written and visual instructions. Thank you to Chris and Pat for their welcome e mail and instant response to our simple query. I highly recommend Butchers Flat.
My wife, son (of 1.5 years) and I had a fantastic stay. The apartment was actually much bigger than the pictures led us to believe and we felt like we had loads of room. The huge windows let in loads of light and the views were great. We ate in every night and really appreciated the clean modern facilities. The location is perfect. Even our son managed the short walk into the village without trouble. Tony was an excellent host and was even kind enough to leave us some Easter treats for our arrival. So kind and generous. Thank you Tony for a lovely stay.
Beautiful home so close to everything but so quiet, we mainly used the buses to get out and about which stop very close to the cottage. Would recommend as a good option. Not far from many attractive spots. Bourton very busy at the weekend - book for your meals so you won’t be disappointed. The cottage has lovely big rooms. Plenty of space for all. Bonus was en-suites to both bedrooms and extra bathroom downstairs. Suggestion - empty cupboard for food storage in kitchen. Otherwise perfect!
Excellent stay with a group of friends. Well equipped kitchen for meals and lovely furniture throughout. Bedrooms were comfortable, trails out the back of the property to get into the Cotswold way and very dog friendly. The host also dropped in to say hello and was very friendly.
A great place to stay , very cosy , very well finished quiet and great views . Secure parking for normal cars. A few minutes walk to one of the best pubs in the country - the Kings Head at Bledington.
House was perfect for our family get together and having two excellent inns within walking distance was a bonus. Perfect.
A very comfortable and well equipped property that was nice and clean. Great location, quiet but plenty of places to visit close by. Also has nice walks on the doorstep. No complaints at all!
Bakers Flat was a great property overall to stay in, the newness, decor and facilities are all top notch and I’d struggle for anyone to be disappointed. Being on BlackJack Street right in the heart of Cirencester is brilliant, a short walk away from a brilliant choice of shopping, bars, restaurants and theatre. The downside and something that I should have possibly considered but didn’t was the noise. General people noise more so at the weekend, walking up and down the street late at night plus very early store deliveries and occasional refuse collections mean that there was on occasion si...more
This was an immaculate accommodation with a convenient and very secure location close to the railway station. It had a nice courtyard that provided secure storage for our bicycles. It had everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
The beautiful Stonelands cottage is situated in the perfect location just outside the jewel village of Burford in a secluded area. The cottage itself is very well maintained and has all what is needed including high end equipped kitchen, two cosy living rooms, very comfortable beds, and a lovely family design. The house boosted by a beautiful garden and plenty outdoor space to enjoy. Our family enjoyed staying at Stonelands, and would love to come back again.
We are regular visitors to different counties & different rentals. This was the best ever & everything had been thought about. The stables were clean, comfortable & so well equipped. All the basics for self catering were there & the welcome basket really appreciated. The hosts were on hand if needed with advice on the area. Altogether first class .
We had a wonderful stay at Church End! The cottage is darling and in an ideal spot. The view of the church in the back yard was delightful. We loved everything about our stay! ❤️
Rex Cottage is a beautiful cottage, in a stunning location - what you would imagine to be a true Cotswolds Village a stones throw from Broadway. The Cottage is extremely comfortable, very well Equipped. This was our 2nd Stay at Rex Cottage and we are looking forward to our next visit. I would highly recommend.
River Cottage was such a lovely home to stay in, charmingly renovated and well appointed. The area is beautiful and we loved being able to walk into Winchcombe . We would love to stay here again.
What a great 2 week stay we had at The Twigs! The moment we entered the cottage we were struck by the cleanliness of this cottage. I have always felt that whenever you entered a house, or in this case a cottage, and it is very clean, you immediately feel comfortable. Well, that is what happened at The Twigs! The furnishings, appliances and available supplies were beyond our expectations! Coral had added so many special touches throughout the cottage, all of which enhanced an enjoyable stay. The grounds of the cottage were immaculate and beautifully landscaped. Walking around the villag...more
A really well equipped, beautifully designed cottage. I couldn’t fault it for a family break away, we have a 5 and 3 year old and it worked really well for us, with lots of fun days out within driving distance.
A brilliant place to stay in the Cotswolds and perfect for our group of 8 adults and 2 children. Easy to access, beautiful grounds and highly recommend.
We were delighted with all aspects of our stay in the very spacious Pinkney House. Stay Cotswold were very helpful and professional in organising the trip as was Kim, the property manager. The location of the house is great, near the edge of the village with easy, free, street parking. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and crockery etc was of a premium standard ( Villeroy et Boch). If there was one small criticism, it would be that the coffee machine did not produce good coffee; a simple Nespresso pod machine might be better, but we are clutching at straws here. Thanks to all involve...more
The shepherd's hut was perfect in every respect. It provided us with excellent accommodation, and the gas effect wood burner was great for keeping the temperature just right. Super setting with lovely views and great walks nearby including a nice 20 minute cross fields walk to the pub. There are also plenty of places to visit within short driving distances.
Stunning cottage with parking and a very short walk into Stow on the wold. Nice garden to sit out in
Thanks for having me at Topside - a very comfortable and central apartment, perfect for a relaxing stay. No complaints at all, it was lovely.
Gorgeous property which worked well for our large family Well stocked kitchen equipment etc. There wasn't anything we didn't need. Beautifully furnished. Thoroughly recommend.
This is the second time our family of four has stayed at Agatha Bear Cottage in Stow on the Wold. It’s a lovely clean and tidy house, with everything you need for your stay, and is a few minutes walk to the main village, where you will find lots of lovely shops and local pubs. It is situated in a great location, near to many local attractions. Would definitely return again.
We had a brilliant weekend away celebrating a birthday at Holly Tree Cottage. The house was immaculate, comfortable, stylish and of very high quality throughout. The owners were very quick to respond to a query we had. The kids loved the play area and we loved the house and hot tub! Would definitely recommend a stay here and we will certainly be back again!
From the minute we walked in the door, this place was special...I had booked it and my partner had no clue so I took a video of my first walk around the place which shows him standing by the dining table looking around with his mouth open...the space...the skylights...the anticipation of a wonderful break! Clean, spacious, well equipped, quiet, cosy...all the right adjectives were perfect (except for the shower head which definitely had seen better days...)! Locally unfortunately The Bell pub was only open from Wednesday evening - appreciate this is a sign of the times though - but was f...more
Beautiful cottage & garden. Decor fabulous. So comfortable, loved our stay. Everything we needed was supplied. All the added extras in kitchen and bathroom. Will stay again one day
Such a wonderful stay in a wonderful cottage that is highly recommended. We loved our time. Everything was perfect.
We had a wonderful peaceful long weekend at Rabbit cottage. The cottage is set in some beautiful countryside on a farm and the interior of the cottage was amazing, everything we needed was inside. So warm inside with the air source heat pump. Plus loved the Roku smart TV. There was some lovely walks from the cottage, great with a dog.
Wood cottage is a lovely cosy cottage. It was spotlessly clean. It was a great home from home had everything we needed. Little extras like wine, Easter eggs, teabags, sugar and coffee were much appreciated. Would certainly recommend a great base for exploring.
This cottage was the highlight of our 3 ½ week trip around the UK. So nice to spread out, do some laundry, and open some windows! Excellent central location, close to train station/tour pickups, and it felt very secure and quiet tucked away in the back of the main street.
My wife and I frequently come to Bourton on the Water and this cottage tops them all! Great location; beautiful private garden; plenty of room…bedrooms are spacious and well decorated. Dealing not only with Staycotswold, but also the owner and local manager was a breeze. Few cottages have everything you would want - spacious refrigerator/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and even a garbage disposal! Television has wide range of channels including access to all major premium channels (just sign in to hour account). Wifi is VERY strong all over the house and garden. Fireplace was perfect and we...more
Our stay at Old Rectory exceeded our expectations in all areas. Beautiful property with very spacious living areas and bedrooms easily accommodating 14 people including 4 children and a dog. Although it was freezing outside (middle of January) the inside of the property was warm and comfortable in all rooms. Very comfortable beds and bathrooms equipped with all the essentials. Fabulous big kitchen and dining room again equipped with everything one would need to feed a small crowd. Welcome supplies of coffee, tea, milk etc supplied and much more. We definitely want to come back and experience...more
This property was perfect for us. I was working remotely and the little office nook came in handy. The parking space made day trips a breeze. Customer service was excellent… we were here for 2 weeks and would not hesitate to return!
We had a lovely stay at Shakespeare Cottage, great location, close to town so didn’t need the car, just a shame there is no parking. We definitely book again and recommend it.
This is a beautiful property in a beautiful village. The Brewery is gorgeous, well appointed, beautifully furnished and extremely clean and tidy. We had a wonderful weekend there with our family. Simon was so helpful both before we arrived and even whilst we were there. Literally just a few steps from the high street it is prime location. We did a lovely walk from there and ate in Wild at Bull - a wonderful experience. We would all highly recommend the property. Thank you Simon.
The house was beautiful and the surroundings were so peaceful and tucked away. The hosts were friendly and helpful and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
What a wonderful place to stay, we loved that pool house, the space inside and out, the views, the decor and the owner and the lady that take care of it were lovely. We had really nice weather so enjoyed the pool which was heated and the hot tub though takes a very long time to heat with logs lol Been great communication throughout too. Thank you so much ☺️
We are four old school friends who have a break away with each other every year. We chose Stay Cotswolds this year. Great location, and a really lovely, roomy house. Very well stocked with all you would need to live comfortably. As ladies in our later years, we struggled a little with all the technology available, but I'm sure most guests would make better use of the gym and siri than we did! We enjoyed our few days in Blenheim Corner
We were very happy at Ostlers! Great location. The only two things we could possibly find fault with were: the noise from the road through the night (but this is not really a reflection on the property as it is single pane glass), and the comfort of the mattresses which we felt were not as comfortable as they could be. We’d stay again, and recommend it. Thanks
We had a wonderful week at Nursery End House. We had planned to eat out a few times but the kitchen and dining room were so lovely we cooked every night. Dogs loved it too. Very central and quiet at night.
We Enjoyed every Moment in this beautiful cottage. We had a Lovely time , everything was very good. We really felt it was a Home away from Home, providing everything we could Need and more.
Lovely apartment, excellent provisions, great location and very clean. Will definitely come back and stay again.
Will’s Cottage was just what we needed for our family. We realise that allowing people on tour farm can be ‘invading’ but we are very grateful for Will allowing us to roam on the farm and being close to the animals. It was food for our souls. Communication via StayCotswolds was also excellent throughout. Best customer service experienced in a long time!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Smithy, it was newly decorated and very well done. The beds were comfy, the kitchen well equipped and the welcome pack was more than anywhere we have had before. The location was ideal for getting into town and taking the dog for a walk. It offered us everything we needed for a family weekend break.
We had a wonderful week at Churn View Cottage, visiting many villages in the Cotswolds. The house looks just like the photos. It is very nicely furnished and cosy. Cirencester can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. There is a small supermarket practically next door. And 2 pubs are just a few minutes away.
We booked for my Mother birthday as a surprise. The place was incredible. We had a superb time and will be back
Beautyful small house in very good conditions. We stayed with 4 people in, was perfect!!!. Spotless clean with a nice smell when you enter the house. Kitchen is very well equipped, nice pub with good food near by. Perfect place to discover the whole Cotswold area. Parking was no problem, always something free in front of the cottage.
Had a lovely weekend. Easy paved walk into Stow ( uphill going) All rooms lovely. Golden Ball across the road. Spoke to someone about a query during our stay regarding the recycling - very helpful. Beautiful house, garden and location.
This was our second stay at Ash Barn as we loved it so much the first time! The barn is absolutely pristine clean and smells beautiful, it requires everything you need- everything is thought of! We love the surroundings for country walks and owl sightings, sitting out on the patio is so tranquil. We followed a path through a large field leading to Great Tew which we highly recommend, its the most beautiful quaint little village with an amazing artisan coffee shop & 16th century pub, so perfect! We can honestly say this is the best UK holiday we have been on and will return once again! Stay Cot...more
We’ve been lucky enough to stay here before. Last time was just before Christmas, this time was for Easter and it was just lovely with the garden in bloom. We have already booked to stay again. Highly recommend. Thank you!
We had a lovely stay at Gisleburtus House. The house is ideally situated in the centre of Stow in the Wold, with all the amenities the village holds. The house was beautifully decorated, comfortable and large. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed for a four night stay.
I stayed with my husband and my sister and brother in law. The cottage is really comfortable and does feel like a home from home. Tetbury is really worth visiting, with lots of nice places to eat and independent shops. The purpose of our stay was to visit Highgrove Gardens which is really close by. We also visited Westonbirt Arboretum which again is very close and worth a visit. We had a lovely long walk following one of the suggested routes. All in all we had a great time, and we're so lucky with the weather for this time of year. The cottage has very creaky floor boards, which is part of t...more
The barn is wonderful, the views over the field and secluded nature of the property are the icing on the cake, and we certainly didn’t expect it to exceed our expectations in this way. We had a wonderful weekend, thank you!
The place we stayed was truly amazing! We received a welcome pack with the essentials, which was a lovely touch. The communication was very good too. Very modern, clean and welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights, very close to all the places we wanted to visit. Didley Squat Farm, pub and brewery a definite must to visit. The village we stayed in was quiet, lovely pubs and shops, 2 mins walking distance. We will definitely come back again!!! Thank you,
The family loved staying at the cottage. It was a taste of The Cotswolds for us Australian visitors.
We recently stayed at The Old Post Office in Ilmington to celebrate a family event. The location of the house is perfect - situated in Ilmington near all the major Cotswold towns. The house itself was just as we imagined - charming Cotswold stone with a pretty outlook. The rooms were all spacious and tastefully furnished, the kitchen and lounge were huge and well appointed. Bedrooms were set over 2 additional floors and there were lovely bathrooms as well. Hosting a family lunch was so easy and the dining room more than enough for 8 of us. What makes The Old Post Office so lovely is that it is...more
Don’t be deceived with the outside appearance of Cross Keys cottage it looks small and compact but inside it’s similar to a Tardis. It’s beautifully appointed and maintained and provides adequate high quality interior space to cater for 16 people easily. We held a birthday celebration for a large family there and we’ve created a lasting joyful memory. The cottage is owned by the restaurant owners next door and they were so accommodating in preparing a high quality celebratory meal for 15 people and serving it to us in the beautiful dinning room within the cottage: which made our celebration ef...more
Beautifully decorated apartment. Clean, comfortable and in a wonderful location. Would 100% recommend.
A very comfortable house, lovely and clean and everything we needed. The only problem we had was that the WiFi kept dropping out and we struggled to watch the tv. We didn’t see that as a huge issue though and would definitely recommend this property.
We stayed at Orchard Cottage in May of 2025. We had no knowledge of Hook Norton but fell in love with the quaint village which was thankfully not a tourist hub like many of the other small local villages. The cottage itself was about as idyllic as one could imagine with a small fireplace (which we didn't use), exposed wood beams, a steep little staircase to the two bedrooms which was perfect for our family of 4 with its second bedroom having two twin beds. We made use of the kitchen after picking up some food from the village shop across the street. I couldn't find a baking sheet wh...more
This was a great place for a short break with the extended family and friends. There are two lounges to choose from (one with an open fire), a well-stocked kitchen with instant hot water and kitchen range, comfortable bedrooms, and a walled garden and patio totally safe for kids. On the top floor there were bunk beds for the boys, together with table football and a games console/ screen that they loved. The village itself is charming, with quintessential Cotswold stone dwellings and its own playing field. It is within easy reach of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, the Slaughters and Northleach. ...more
Loved the place. Happily funky, with everything needed for comfort and convenience. Tasha responded promptly when we arrived to no water; turned out the utility had broken a pipe and much of town was without. You're right in the center of Stow on the Wold, a lovely town. As others have said, the street is busy, but we had no trouble parking. Highly recommended.
Second time we have stayed at Stonewell. 16 of us ranging from 75 down to 18 months and the facilities kept every one of us happy and entertained. The well equipped kitchen made preparing a meal easy for us and the chef we hired for the Saturday night. Lots of space indoors and out.
Cottage is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. We appreciated the provision of basics (tea, coffee, condiments etc). Disappointed to find no starter pint of milk or any other 'welcome' items. Hosts, Bob & Jane, were very helpful and responsive. The cottage does back onto a main road so if road noise is an issue then this isn't the cottage for you. Easy walk into Burford. We would stay again. StayCotswold was excellent re communication and ease of booking.
The house really suited us . All the bedrooms were substantial and furnished beautifully, particularly the beds . They were sumptuous and made the house special. One bedroom is not quite up to those high standards and the bed and furnishings could easily be upgraded. Bathrooms all good. Outside is amazing for family gatherings. Lots of garden games and we played football on the field. We’d happily return next year. Thank you Natalie. I wonder if the tracker has turned up?
Had a lovely 4 day stay in a beautiful location. Loved the village, the pub, the walks and especially the lake.
The 7 of us spent a lovely, sunny and relaxing May weekend at High & Little Barns. The property was comfortable, spacious and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our time together. We had plenty of outdoor space and the hot tub was a real treat - it heated relatively quickly and stayed hot overnight! Would happily visit again and would highly recommend.
A lovely cottage in a great location. Good for walks with the dog and enclosed garden. Large comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen.
We had a lovely time at the cottage, excellent service and place! Would use them again and happily go back
Beautiful characterful, well equipped cottage set within the lovely village of Broadwell. The cottage was well presented throughout and spacious enough for the 6 adults staying there. Susanna (the owner) provided helpful and detailed information prior to our stay and was available nearby if needed. The local pub, the Fox Inn was a short stroll away and served a delicious Sunday Roast! The small towns of Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh have plenty of good shops and restaurants and are just minutes away by car with Bourton on the Water and Broadway slightly further a field but well worth a...more
We loved this property. It was very smart, well decorated and in a great location. We loved the kitchen which was well equipped and had a good flow. The heating system was spot on and felt very comfortable. The separation of 2 houses in one was very clever. Although the lounge area was spacious, it probably needed more seating for 10 people. I would highly recommend this house. Very lovely.
My daughter and I stayed here for a birthday treat and it is a fabulous property, right in the centre of Stow. Everything you could possibly want is on your doorstep and also close to other villages and attractions. Very spacious and comfortable property, and it also felt very secure being in the enclosed courtyard overnight. Great communication from StayCotswold. We will definitely book again!
What a wonderful setting to stay in, our dog loved it as the garden is fully enclosed so we could let her out and explore the garden. The shepherds hut had everything you would need for a holiday. A microwave, hob and all the utensils and condiments you would need. We got there and it had a bottle of wine, tea, coffee and some milk. The wildlife was amazing, hares, owls, rabbits. The list goes on. A picnic area at the side of the Thames was a great spot to watch the boats go bye. Overall a wonderful stay in Vespers!!!
Really clean and comfortable stay. Short walk into town for restaurants and pubs aside from The Mousetrap which is a few minutes walk. Good location for exploring the area including Cheltenham.
A fantastic few days away celebrating two birthdays with special friends great place needs a little love and attention in some places. Location fantastic for visiting all local beauty spots and villages will definitely come back again.
We have visited here twice, cottage great from all aspects. Plus beautiful villages and properties. Great holiday location.
This was perfect for a group of old friends to get together in. It was very comfortable, although would like the beds set up differently if we were to go back, as one of the rooms is tiny with small narrow beds and difficult access to bathroom. Very well equipped and clean throughout. Comfortable beds and sofas, plenty of crockery, pans etc, nice basket of basics for our stay.
We always enjoy staying in Chipping Campden - the location in the heart of the Cotswolds is perfect for walking and visiting local villages / small towns Garth Cottage is situated perfectly , a 2 minute walk to the heart of the village with the bonus of a car parking bay The cottage has all the facilities that we require - housekeeping standards were excellent What’s not to like ?
House & grounds very nice, very nice secluded garden and lovely big private gates to the property. Utilities very good. Great location. Minus, hot tub handle broken, head rest pad broken, downstairs shower affected hot/cold when other taps in use. Cushion storage lock broken. Nice touch leaving cake and milk on arrival for guests. Will definitely be returning.
Had a fantastic stay, became poorly while there, but local surgery were amazing. The house was huge for two of us, but we had four nights in front of the beautiful log burner. The manager dealt with a request very quickly and we had a wonderful stay. Everything on your doorstep, yet quietly tucked away, we will return again.
We very much enjoyed our holiday n the Shepherds Hut. It it beautifully fitted inside. We hope to stay again. The only downside was the tiny fridge, which for us could have done with being larger.
We loved our stay at Harvey’s Cottage. Comfortable beds, sofa, and plenty of space for all the family to happily sit, eat or play. Nice homely feel with the decor. Great village with excellent local shop, butchers and coffee shop. Friendly neighbours. Good walks from the door. Short drive to lots of other lovely villages & towns. We loved the Arts Week exhibitions both in Chadlington and Charlbury. All the ages in our family love the Cotswolds Wildlife Park, the pub in Churchill and the tea shops in Burford. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Causeway Cottage is an immaculate cottage located in a gorgeous village. The location could not have been better, a picture perfect village within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The cottage itself is gorgeous but the garden is spectacular. We had a sunny weekend where we enjoyed sitting the garden, going for walks, watching the cricket on the other side of the wall and enjoyed the pub opposite which served lovely food. We really could not recommend this cottage more highly, one of the rare, large detached, period 3 bedroom cottages in the Cotswolds with parking and an incredible garden.
We had a comfortable 3-night stay at Lakeside House. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and my kids greatly appreciated the TV in the great room. (I greatly appreciated the washer for laundry, and although there was no electric dryer, everything line-dried very quickly on the warmers or on hangers.) We did not cook while we were there, but it looked like the kitchen was fully stocked. Fossebridge was well-located right off the main road that connects multiple Cotswold towns. It's adjacent to Inn at Fossebridge where we had two very satisfying dinners (remember to make reservat...more
My husband and I took our first trip to England, staying in beautiful Cotswolds. We rented a Spring Cottage in Ebringham and what a fabulous cottage it was. The updates to this historic cottage are thoughtfully done, maintaining its rich heritage and sense of place with modern comfort. It has everything you need to cook (on an Aga!) do laundry and relax in the garden. The village is lovely, walkable, with a friendly pub nearby. We highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the Cotswolds.
Enjoyable break (Mon - Fri) and lovely cottage in a good location. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t ready for the Monday when we arrived at 17:00 so we missed a night using it. We asked for a 1 hour check out extension on the Friday as a gesture of goodwill as we had a little baby. This was refused. A polite recommendation would be to make check in (17:00) slightly earlier or check out (10:00) an hour later. 7 hours to clean a 2 bed cottage is an extortionate amount of time. At full price, I’d be a little more hesitant to book again due to the check in and check out times.
What an amazing place to stay,The accommodation worked really well for our family of 8 adults and 7 children. Great welcome pack was much appreciated. The location is beautiful and the opportunity for paddle boarding on the river went down well, as all the other outdoor space
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tyte Cottage it was a beautiful charming cottage inside and out exactly as pictured described Kitty was friendly and welcoming and would 100% recommend
Secluded and beautiful old place in a lovely art of the Cotswolds. Delightful off road circular walk into Stow with fabulous views. Fox Inn nearby was buzzing on Saturday night (bit too noisy and expensive for me!). Kitchen had most things you need (except oven gloves) for cooking a meal and was very clean. Large dining space and comfortable lounge. 3 interesting bedrooms with own bathrooms with plenty of space and quirky features. Garden also lovely with a large table and many chairs. Maybe some seat cushions would be a nice addition? Highly recommend.
Location for local attractions great. Beautiful hut, well equipped in the kitchen for a weekend stay. Towels and dressing gowns provided for the hot tub. Hot tub was a very nice addition however only minimal wood provided, certainly not enough to run a hot tub and wood fire for even one evening. To get the hot tub warm enough for three nights we used 4 bags of logs (purchased ourselves) so be prepared. Luckily we had good weather so didn’t need to use the log burner. Hut is located in the owners back garden. Fenced off in its own area with trees and a garden but you are facing their pr...more
Lovely cottage, cake and milk on arrival was a nice touch, ideal location with a dog. Very clean and comfortable.
We had a fabulous few days in this lovely property. Great location in the village of Blockley. A very cosy, comfortable stay and we loved the attention to detail in all the rooms. Everything you need for the kitchen, and beautifully laid out. One recommendation would be a mirror above the table in main bedroom (mainly for the using of the hair dryer.) We made great use of the log burner and our little pooch enjoyed laying in front of it after long walks. We would definitely come back and recommend this property to family and friends.
What a lovely place. It was ideal for our group. The barns were well equipped and very comfortable. The hub was a great space to all convene and to eat together. We will definitely be booking again.
great place fantastic location - ideal for getting about and amenities very close very comfy superb value for money!
Ideally situated on the square, right in the middle of everything, but totally peaceful . The Staircase was really comfortable and very clean. Very well equipped and very good quality pots, pans. The only one thing I would recommend would be to have some curtains or blinds in the sitting area. Wonderful stay. Would definitely go back again.
Great location and lovely garden and a traditional period Cotswold cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and a few basic provisions given on arrival which was lovely. I didn't feel as if it was as nicely done as some of the previous cottages I have stayed in - particularly things like the cushions, bedding etc but that is a personal preference. I also felt there was a musty smell in parts pf the cottage but again that may be expected given the age of the building. During our stay there was building work going on next door which really disturbed us one day. I appreciate this cannot be h...more
What can I say. Entering this lovely holiday home we were struck by how beautiful this home was, beautiful decor, lovely furniture and everything we could have wished for. Had everything utensil wise and more, some places always forget something that you need. Beds were comfortable and cleanliness 100%. It would have been lovely to open the bi fold doors as the weather was lovely and it did get rather hot last week but there is a tower fan so made good use of that. The car charging point was excellent for us having an electric car so no hassle trying to charge up elsewhere. The welcome...more
We had a great stay in a beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings. The facilities and cottage were excellent, really comfortable, lovely open plan kitchen and large bedrooms. The little touches for our dog, baby was really appreciated and we had everything needed across the property and kitchen. The surroundings were lovely with a beautiful private garden space for enjoying the outdoors. The only thing to bear in mind is the need to drive to neighboring towns/villages to see things or eat out as there's nothing in the immediate area or walkable.
We were a party of six who recently stayed at The New Bakehouse for a wedding. The property was exactly per the photos, is a stunning new design, roomy and with everything you need including a Roberts radio and Bose speaker. The kitchen and utility rooms were well equipped and had everything you could need. Kevin was a great host, there to help but very distant given he lives below the property. As with other reviews the property is not straightforward to find and access slightly tight but once you get used to it is fine. We had someone in a wheelchair and access via the side ga...more
Middle Cable embodied everything we were looking for during our stay in the Cotswold. From the enchanting construction of the property, to the beautiful garden area and interior details, everything enhanced our first visit together to this region of England. The living spaces inside are very comfortable, and especially the huge master bed! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything to prepare light or full meals. Cate was wonderful in her communications and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. It truly provided a very nice personal touch. We are very pleased with the decision ...more
The house is in a very convenient location in a quite side street and central to everything Nailsworth has to offer. There are walks on the doorstep and further afield. The property was clean and in good decorative order. The kitchen was well provisioned with a well stocked spice rack and even some capsules for the Nespresso machine. The beds were comfortable and the temperature was fine despite it being a rather warm week for the time of year. The garden is secure, but it could do with freshening up. There were a couple of plants but it's not that appealing to relax in after a day explori...more
Upper Oddington is a small, quaint village with a pub, within easy walking distance and where meals are served. Upon opening the gated property the first impression of the Pear Tree was very pleasing. The outdoor grounds were quite substantial with several separate seating areas and an expansive outdoor patio area for entertaining, seating at outdoor bar, table tennis equipment, the ability to grill outdoors along with tasteful evening outdoor lighting. The soccer net was used frequently by almost everyone in our family. The trampoline was in need of a washing down to remove bird droppin...more
Lovely cottage and location in the heart of the Cotswolds. Big kitchen and lovely cosy lounging areas. Local pub nearby offering delicious food and allows dogs and children in the restaurant. Have booked again for next year so would highly recommend.
We had a great time here! However due to the pitched roof, we kept bumping our heads in the bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Might not be the best for tall people. It would also be super useful if some bin bags were provided too so we can help keep the property clean! These are just some minor gripes. Overall had a great time!
This was such a beautiful cottage on such a lovely private estate. I am not new to the Cotswolds, I have been coming here since childhood. I can honestly say that Woodman Cottage has been the best and most relaxing stay I have had since coming to the Cotswolds many years ago. I will certainly be returning and highly recommend this wonderful cottage.
Beautiful cottage in a great location with lots of shops pubs and restaurants close by. We had a wonderful weekend and hope to return soon .
The cottage was in a lovely location, it says on the cottage’s information that it sleeps 4 people, it only sleeps 3!there is a double bed and a single it does say that it sleeps one child under 2 but you need to bring your own cot, I don’t know where it would go as there is no room?? It is a a lovely property with everything you need
Well located for visiting the Cotswolds, e.g. gardens. Great place, well designed, very spacious, large nice garden bordering on green hill. Several "corners" to sit. Quite modern. Good sofas, bed, TV etc. No complaints, we can wholeheartedly recommend. The booking process and support seems almost a bit overdone (many separate emails).
We enjoyed every moment in the house. Lovely rooms with comfortable beds and pillows, cosy sitting rooms, fully equipped kitchen, wonderful garden with hot tub. A vacations we will remember!
A very comfortable place to stay with many thoughtful touches. Fully enclosed garden was good for the dogs and great walks from the property on local footpaths.
The cottage was perfect for our group of four friends. It was beautifully furnished, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious with a good bedroom/bathroom ratio. The kitchen was well equipped with a beautiful living/dining area, so we stayed in most evenings and had a great time cooking together. It was good to have parking by the front door, the small garden however, is shared. The location is very quiet and peaceful and although semi rural, it's only a short drive to the large supermarkets. It was a great base to explore the Cotswolds. The host was also very helpful and acc...more
Beautiful cottage and great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Perry Cottage. Sofa was a little uncomfortable on the back but otherwise great facilities.
Lovely house right in centre of Tetbury. Roomy enough for eight people downstairs, but one bedroom more suitable to a single rather than twin - OK for children but bed not great for two adults. House was immaculate when we arrived, and everything you needed was provided. Courtyard garden very small, but as in Cotswolds you are mostly out and about. Cannot unload cars immediately outside cottage but parking nearby. Overall, a really lovely house in a great location.
We loved the cottage and location but had an extremely difficult time opening the key box. It was a weekend and bank holiday so we couldn’t get any help, fortunately an extremely nice man who lived next door was able to help but when we left he couldn’t get it open either and again, the agency wasn’t open yet. They need to have at least one person on call 23/7. Also, the bedroom with an en-suite shower was poorly designed. You could barely turn on the water because the shower head was not movable and just sprayed the water on the slanted ceiling, it needs a rainfall shower head that would...more
A really lovely location which was perfect for a getaway with friends. We hired the stables and the annex for the 6 of us which worked perfectly. We loved the hot tub in the evening and there were plenty of lovely walks locally. James was incredibly helpful when we realised there was no oven for some of the food we bought and let us use the main house which was over and above. The zip wire was great fun (and faster than expected :-) ) A very convenient location to explore the area!
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a wonderful property, we were a family of 11 age range 70-2.5 and there was something for everyone the games room was a god send and entertained the children when they weren’t outdoors play on the swings or playing football. All of the rooms were very comfortable and a very good size, there was plenty of crockery, cutlery, serving plates and dishes. All in all a wonderful place for our family celebration, we had a wonderful time. A few things that need some attention, the TV in the lounge looks like it could fall off of the wall at any time you can see the raw plugs...more
Perfect for a family get together - plenty of space with en-suite rooms. Communication and directions were great and having the keysafe made it easy to check-in, and share the single key with family when we went out to do different things. Local shop was handy for supplied and the Great Western pub in the village was welcoming and convenient for a family meal. Whilst the kitchen was well equipped, the oven was difficult to work out how to turn on as the markings have rubbed off of this and from the hob.
We could not have asked for a more comfortable setting for our Cotswolds visit. The decor was perfect and the extras such as the basket of food items was a pleasant surprise. Some have mentioned the steep staircase yet we felt it quite fitting. The rope railing was of course a necessary addition. Should we return to the area, we would want to stay in The Old Post Office Cottage.
Beautiful cottage and beautiful Village feels like you have gone back 50 years to a less stressful life.
Nice old reed roof house with the charm of the early years. Plumbing, windows all older and with minor issues. But very tastefully furnished and a garden to dream and swich off.
A good experience from booking to leaving this well equipped and comfortable cottage. Quiet, peaceful village, easy to get to places, lovely to come home to. Comfortable beds and quality linen. Beautiful garden with generous seating options. Surprisingly didn't have a coffee maker which disappointed and the master bedroom seemed to have a lot of cobwebs and therefore spiders. No problem elsewhere. We all said we would be very happy to stay again.
The cottage was generally fantastic, well-equipped, spacious, peaceful and with wonderful views. Our only gripe is with the mattresses and pillows which were poor quality and really quite uncomfortable; definitely not as good as would have been expected and not in line with the standard of the rest of the cottage.
A beautiful building situated in lovely surroundings. Fantastic hotel and bar next door who were very friendly and accommodating. Great food . Ideally situated for walks . The Shaven Cottage is beautifully furnished with every modern amenity. The hot tub was clean and hot . Fantastic
The quiet, village property was a great size for six people with good-sized rooms. We liked the large kitchen island, separate TV room and the en-suite facilities for each bedroom. Beds were comfy (good mattresses) as were sofas and armchairs downstairs with high quality curtains and blinds. This house is lovely in many ways. However, there were details that let the cottage down such as lumpy pillows and a lack of generosity with some features: e.g. toiletries (only hand wash), hairdryer (a basic one only for the house), kitchen towels (thin and previously stained), some pans had seen better...more
Fantastic location, cosy and well equipped cottage, so easy to get out and about and see the beautiful Cotswolds. Being able to park off road in the centre of the village a real bonus.
On arrival we were struck by the way the original cottage had been renovated and modernised to such a high standard. The fixtures and fittings throughout were all of a very good quality. The heating system worked very well but we found it rather noisy but it was very simple to control so we could turn it off to allow us to sleep. The kitchen appliances were modern and good brands but we were unable to get the lower oven to work and there were no instructions provided. Although it didn't affect the enjoyment of our Cotswolds break we felt that it would have benefitted from a thorough spring cle...more
We had a lovely 2 night stay. The location was perfect and there are some great local pubs with food- People are really friendly. The cottage is beautiful. Need to take care in the shower as very slippery. Would book again! Thank you.
I loved the cottage..it’s well appointed and for four of us there was plenty of room. You do need to be quite tall to get in the high beds, though..
Love Hill View House, perfect for our annual uni reunion. House great for relaxing in and lots to do locally plus great pub in the village
What a gem of a property. Fabulous location in a chocolate box village. It provided all we needed and the massive garden was a absolute delight for our spaniel. The local pub was welcoming and served good traditional meals. Walking from the barn was in abundance. Highly recommend this home from home
A great wee place to stay very central chippy Norton is lovely and the people are so friendly. Would definitely recommend. StayCotswold where great at keeping in touch with us had to contact them on the first night thinking they would get back in touch with me the next morning but they got back to me that night and even fallowed it up with a phone call. Fantastic service
The cottage is in a perfect location, in a gorgeous village. Perfectly situated for many local walks. The town has a couple of pubs- (we highly recommend The Oak) and a couple of restaurant options. The cottage itself was larger than expected and stylishly designed. Perfect for our Easter stay. The welcome bottle of wine/ biscuits was much appreciated, as was the nice touch of fresh flowers! Only tiny recommendations to improve would be some sort of shelving unit to put washbags on in the main bathroom, and somewhere to hang some clothes- both points that previous reviewers have recommended...more
Had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Property finished nicely, welcome pack a pleasant surprise, as were the condiments left for use. Great location to explore the Cotswolds. Cushions for the outdoor furniture would improve the experience further. Only one slight complaint, the outdoor bin was full when we arrived and wasn't emptied during our week stay.
Lovely stay at the Chapel Stow on the Wold for 5 days during the late May Bank Holiday weekend . It was very central to explore all other areas of the Cotswolds Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Broadwell and Burford all which we were able to do. Lovely accomodation with lots of attention to detail eg. good location of plug sockets, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and owners thought of everything. Hard to park so we left the car in the High Street once we got a spot and used buses and a Taxi to get around. Would recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at Lilac Cottage. Such a charming and cute accommodation, real home from home. We sat in the garden and it was so relaxing as we were also lucky with the weather! The location was ideal for visiting surrounding areas. Highly recommend this gorgeous cottage.
We stayed in The Farmhouse for a week and that incorporated my nieces wedding over the weekend. We had family with us for four days and 1 dog. My first impressions of the house were "what a lovely spot" and that view is to die for! The kids loved the garden to play and run around in and the adults enjoyed catching the sun with a glass of wine or two in super peaceful surroundings. We found some lovely walks (and some very steep hills), both from the house and on trips out in the car. the surrounding villages and area are beautiful. The kitchen had everything and more that you could need,...more
Fuschia Cottage is a beautifully appointed cottage. It has been very thoughtfully designed for the maximum comfort of guests. The kitchen and bathrooms are newly fitted and a real pleasure to use. We also really appreciated having a supply of dishwasher tablets and washing machine liquid. All in all a perfect place for our short break.
We had a great stay at The Bakehouse - a home away from home. Fully stocked kitchen and dining room with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The kids loved the garden area, and the location was perfect to explore Burford and beyond. Thank you so much!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. The house was clean and welcoming. Only difficulty we had was trying to get in. The lock was extremely stiff and it felt like we were going to snap off the key it was that difficult to turn. We found some WD40 in the garage and used that which helped. From then on we didn’t use that lock. Would recommend this cottage for a quiet countryside stay.
From entering Little Mullions we knew we had made the perfect choice. The cottage was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed for the weekend, the welcome basket was a lovely gesture and came in useful. The living area was large but cosy with a large dining table that we used a lot. The bedrooms are large, especially the main bedroom and beds comfortable. The location was perfect, so close to many beautiful towns/villages and lots of lovely walks on our doorstep. We as a family would recommend Little Mullions and will definitely be back.
Loved the barn and the location. Great communication all round. Great walks close by and lovely walk into Great Tew with local pub and cafe . We went there on more than one occasion. Pétanque and tennis court got well used . Love to return but along way from NZ!
We stayed at the Barley with my family and in-laws, and what a wonderful stay! Everything was great from us walking in to leaving. This beautiful apartment is nestled in the town of Cirencester, perfectly close to all amenities and attractions. Cirencester is such a beautiful place! Our emergency contact Maddy was very nice- we noted there was no sleeping cot despite requesting one with our booking; however, this was swiftly sorted with just a phone call. I was a bit worried given the fact that it was our family's 1st staycation away from home with a 9-month-old, however, he has enjoyed himsel...more
We had a fantastic weekend stay at this beautiful home. Four couples and a little one. The play room was such a delightful addition as we had a one year old with us who loved the room. We enjoyed the great oven and bbq for cooking and the lovely bath to relax. Great for walks nearby and driving distance to more and to Daylesford. Recommend Martha’s coffee just next door. Such a special proper family home.
Ross house was perfectly situated for walking into Bourton on the water. The house was beautiful, clean, well equipped and the towels and bed linen was vey nice. The artificial grass and a dog ( you are asked to not let your dog toilet on the grass) is a bit of a struggle when the doors are open and you can’t always notice if they have been to the toilet . Other than that the stay was perfect and we would definitely go back
Excellent location in the centre of Broadway within walking distances to pubs/hotels/restaurants. Cosy cottage and we enjoyed our stay
I stayed at The Old Workshop for the second year in succession, as my base for the Cheltenham Festival. It's a perfect place for 1-3 people to use. It's comfortable, clean, easily accessed and has just the right facilities for a party of this size to be bathed, well fed and rested prior to four days of watching your punts tail off at the back of the field at Prestbury Park. Of course, Stow On The Wold is also a great place to get away from the whirling madness of Cheltenham in Festival week - so tick that box too, in fact with the heat being very much on Gloucestershire and it's rip-off ...more
This is the second time we have stayed at Elm Bank for a big family celebration. There were 10 of us, 6 adults and 4 young children, and the layout is perfect for us. Each pair of adults has an en-suite and the kids share the other 2 bedrooms and family bathroom. The three lounges are a real plus - a main lounge for the adults to relax in, a smaller room opposite which is great for the kids to play board games in, and a TV lounge! There is a large table in the kitchen (large enough for breakfast for everyone, and handy for the children's suppers), plus a more formal dining area in the seco...more
Blossom Barn is wonderful and the setting is idyllic. Very clean and comfortable, well appointed, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. We were so relaxed and happy and are definitely going back.
Lovely old house with good facilities including the swimming pool and games room. Kitchen facilities a little spread out within 2 rooms but otherwise made an enjoyable stay and the children loved it.
This is the second time we have stayed at Lulham as the position is ideal for gathering our family of twelve together. The general layout works very well for our group of eight adults and four young children, and the house has been in immaculate condition both times we've stayed. Our only slight problem is with the late check-in time of 5:00pm, which could make the first evening with four very young children rather difficult. However, Eileen from StayCotswold was helpful on each occasion in making it possible for us to arrive a little earlier. We all very much enjoyed our stay and would hop...more
We stayed at Lilly Bee over the May bank holiday weekend as a last minute decision. The booking process was simple and instructions on how to gain access etc were sent promptly. We had a small issue (caused by ourselves) for which I had to contact the owner. She responded immediately and was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a lovely weekend - the location is excellent for dog walking, with plenty of beautiful walks right on the doorstep, as well as being right near a local shop and pub. The garden was gorgeous, with beautiful views and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the d...more
spacious for 4 guests with fully furnished interiors. 20 minutes drive to Cotsworld animal farm. Host is accommodating
Cottage is lovely with a welcome feel to it and well placed for exploring. However it’s heavily let down by the maintenance team, some people might regard it as looking a bit tired, little things like lamps missing light bulbs, paint work needing touching up, not emptying previous occupants recycling bins (this was resolved by email) no lights on the bottom stone stairs from the car parking and ones that are out on the top ones, there also needs to be clear instructions for the cooker as it’s an experience. We also found a smashed bottle in the grass which had just been mowed, not good if h...more
Well equipped but a shame that the hot water doesn't last for 10 showers. Smoke alarm in laundry room needs fixing as it continuously beeps
Primrose Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Being an older property means it is a bit quirky, with beams and internal steps, but all part of its charm. The front garden was sheltered and a pleasant place to sit. We didn’t use the back garden as it contains a small pond. This was sadly full of stagnant smelly water which we didn’t want our dog to drink or wade in! There was plenty of room as there were only two of us. Four adults could stay in comfort but six adults might be a bit of a squeeze. Parking is on a roughly made up road at the front but there was always a space. The loca...more
Myself and my husband booked the cottage for my 50th Birthday celebration with another couple. The cottage is lovely, with a huge cosy lounge and lovely dining/kitchen area. The only comment we would make is there is very little work surface in the kitchen so cooking for 4 or more people is a squeeze. The upstairs was perfectly laid out especially when travelling with another couple as the bedrooms were located at either end of the cottage and could be separately closed off each with a bathroom making both areas private if required. We did find it strange that there were no wardrobes for han...more
We loved our stay at Oxbow Cottage. It was the perfect base for our Cotswold visit. The location was beautiful in the countryside yet a short walk into Stow on Wold where there were delightful restaurants, pubs, wine bars and shopping. It gave us easy access to all the places we wanted to visit. It was perfect. We would love to go back one day.
The apartment was lovely, well appointed, great location. More mirrors are needed in the bedrooms The sofa is extremely low and uncomfortable The location of the key safe hanging behind very full and smelly bins was both difficult to access and unpleasant. It would have been easy to drop the keys behind the bins.
A lovely cottage which felt very welcoming and a fabulous place for entertaining our extended family and grandchildren - will be returning
I would have given 5 stars but only giving 2 starts for three basic and important let downs: 1. The electric blinds did not work on the windows, ie could not open. So no light came through in accommodation! Dark all the time. 2. Couldn’t open the windows as blinds didn’t work. So no fresh air whatsoever! 3. Poor TV reception. These were obvious issues that should have been checked prior to any stay. On the plus - great location. The place itself very clean and great facilities/condition. When I asked issues to be addressed, nothing was sorted! A real shame!! Would recommend if the three ...more
The cottage was delightful - very spacious, well-laid out and perfect size for 3 couples. It was fully equipped with everything necessary for our stay.
The location was great with many places to walk with dogs and to visit and we enjoyed our visit. The cottage was spacious for a two bedroom with adequate kitchen a lounge areas. The cottage itself felt “tired” in that there were issues with the overall cleanliness standard, eg all the light fittings needed cleaning, two lamps in the lounge were broken, a plaster held a cupboard door shut, a curtain rail was just attached to the wall in one bedroom, the extractor fan needed the curved hood cleaning and the vacuum did not work very well. A replacement vacuum was supplied but the end fitting wa...more
The Old Farmhouse is a lovely property close to Bourton on the Water but away from the crowds. Beautiful walks nearby and the atmosphere of the house is calming and serene. A perfect few days in a glorious place.
An ideal location for a reunion of five couples. Good walking with various pubs to visit. One or two minor issues such as lights above bathroom mirrors did not seem to work and the kitchen mixer tap was missing a hot water lever. Bedrooms very comfortable.
Clean comfortable cottage in a great location. Good communaty shop and good food at the two local pubs.
What a great cottage and location! We had a wonderful weekend there. Quiet, convenient, well-equipped, homely and welcoming. Thank you.
The house is in a lovely location . The Welcome basket was thoughtful & enjoyed . The house was perfect for our needs, spacious inside & out . Had quick responses to our questions from our point of contact. Would recommend this property to others .
Stayed at Bea's Cottage for a week and hit luck with sunny weather! It was a nice house to hang out in and we really enjoyed mainly sitting in the front garden. The village is lovely and nice to stroll around with our dog. The property manager was great in responding to any queries and we would happily recommend.
lovely weekend with friends plenty of walking very spacious and accommodating nice area and loved the peacocks
Brook Cottage and Lower Brailles was an excellent choice for a relaxing holiday. As a keen cook, I was delighted with how well the kitchen was equipped (esp. decent knifes #and# a sharpener!). The beds were extremely comfortable and the garden + outdoor furniture were used a lot. As per the information on the StayCotswold website, the stairs are certainly steep, but perfectly usable, with the various handles. The George pub at Lower Brailles is an absolute gem (restricted opening on Sunday and closed all day Monday). I would cross continents for the pork pies from Paddock Farm butch...more
Lovely stay at Tukes Cottage - well equipped, all clean and very comfortable. The garden is delightful …yes there are a few steep steps but there is a hand rail. Parking wasn’t an issue with hosts instructions although we were out and about all day. Perfect location- a short walk in to the town, and easy to visit other places in the Cotswolds. Would defo recommend - thank you
Good location for visiting numerous attractions in Cotswolds. Cottage was right size for 2 people but a few faults :water very slow to drain away in bathroom basin, shelf poorly positioned for washing and shaving ,no small saucepan in kitchen.
After checking in our host came by to check that we had everything we needed which we did. Cliff took the time to explain the walk across the fields for our dog. We found Rainbow Barn to be warm and comfortable, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the village without being too far away.
A nice home in a good location but not up to the standard we usually expect.Needs a refresh now.Firstly no handrail on the stairs to the first floor, which I believe is illegal and will certainly lead to an insurance claim if someone has a fall. No dishwasher or even a microwave or a washing machine. To be fair the description never said they has any of these.I must read more closely for future bookings. No ]gas for the BBQ but the booking said there would be after Easter. It needed a very good clean as well.No cushions for outside furniture.Pans well past there best and not many matching plates...more
We booked Cedar Cottage last minute as Sykes Cottages cancelled our booking at the last minute, and while it wasn't the idyllic cottage in the Cotswold that I had hoped for, it was a very warm, cosy and comfortable retreat. We were a party of 4 adults (2 couples) and found the house to be the perfect size. Could be a bit tight with 6 adults. It was well equipped and contained everything we needed (basic instructions for the oven would be helpful). Being a new build it was modern, in excellent condition and warm with plenty of parking. The house is well located on the edge of Bourton on t...more
We had a lovely weekend at Hillcrest cottage. The cottage is cosy and well furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. The location is great - close to Tetbury and other Cotswolds attractions. The cottage is a little worn in places and could use a fresh coat of paint but that didn’t detract from the cottage being a great place to stay!
We were pleased with the barn But BBQ much too small for no of guests. We found it with burnt wood logs?? for us to clean? Perhaps had been used as a fire pit? The hot tub was great but connected to the barn through an OPEN window?? Which we had to use with all our stuff inside??? Not safe? The patio was covered in weeds etc. Not great. No! For the price would not recommend for security etc.
Whilst the cottage is very pleasant and for the most part comfortable, it is in need of a little TLC. The use of cream carpet on the stairs and throughout the upstairs seems a bit silly in a rental property as it was really quite grubby and stained throughout. The decor needs rejuvenating along with some attention to the smaller problems ie: there is no plug in the kitchen sink (this was mentioned in a previous visitor’s feedback). Furthermore, there was no bowl either - they don’t cost much, please provide one or the other. There must be something about plugs in this cottage: the one in t...more
We had a lovely relaxing stay at quaint end. The weather was beautiful allowing us to use the garden. The beds were comfortable and the cottage had all we needed for a home from home stay. The drive and parking space is very tight and having a large car we parked down on the road which wasn’t a problem.
We had a lovely long weekend at pyatts pad! Living space is much larger than pictures and the log burner was lovely! Perfect location for trips out to cotswolds. In walking distance of local pubs and take aways Despite kitchen being small it is well equipped and was not an issue! Host left milk, wine and logs for the fire which were much appreciated! Highly recommend!
Brilliant. Loved our stay and the location could not have been better. Customer service was excellent
Fantastic family holiday at Barnsley Cottage. We loved everything about it. Plenty of space for three generations, comfortable and well equipped. My grand daughter (age 4) said ‘the beds are like marshmallows’ and she was right. Lovely garden for the children to play in and for the adults to relax.
This property is not suitable for people with walking difficulties as lots of stairs and on a steep slope with very tight access to it. Otherwise a nice place to stay. bright and airy with everything you require……except a garden for the dog if you have one. There are several dog friendly pubs near by. Disappointing that you cannot enter the property on arrival until 5 pm and have to be out by 10 am as you pay for 5 days but actually only get 3.
We had a fantastic time at this new but still rustic feeling and spacious property. There were 5 of us and there was plenty of space for us throughout the place. Really well managed by StayCotswold too, very easy to book and detailed instructions on access to the property and checking in. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend the property and StayCotswolds too.
Had a great time at the organic wagon. The view is great and it is in close vicinity to numerous spots to visit. The bed was in incredibly comfortable and completed the stay.
A comfortable well decorated ( with artwork ) property, with good facilties in an area which suited us for visiting the places we love.
The cottage was excellent. Very clean and perfect for want l wanted for a few days away. I would definitely recommend it
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greenview. We were 3 couples who meet up a few times a year all over the country - the house was perfect for our stay. Spacious, beautifully designed, very well equipped and in a wonderful, peaceful location. We ate in one evening and found cooking and eating in the kitchen a real pleasure. Being super critical, the only 2 slight negatives would be: a) cleanliness - appreciate it’s a big old house to clean but there were lots of cobwebs, dusty surfaces etc. b) quality of the towels, linen etc was very “budget”, not in keeping with the rest of the house and ex...more
We had a wonderful weekend a beautiful spot ,a lovely barn the location was perfect for all the the places that we wanted to visit.Oxford a short drive away .We would highly recommend this property.
The property met all our expectations and was ideal for our large family gathering. The bedrooms gave privacy and the dining area worked really well for gathering, playing games and, of course, eating. The kitchen is very well equipped. Other highlights were the beautiful outlook, the spacious grounds, the charms of Blockley village, and the scope for nearby country walks.
Taking my family which included 2 children and 80yr old mum to celebrate a birthday. The downstairs snug and shower/toilet was perfect for my mum of limited mobility. The kids enjoyed the outside space and 15mins drive to Witney, plenty of shopping had. Kids enjoyed Crocodile world(about 25mins drive away) and a trip to Oxford was had about same distance again. StayCotswolds were easy to get hold of and quick to respond.
Primrose Cottage is just perfect is you are looking for a peaceful stay in the Cotswolds. Situated in beautiful Blockley, it is accessed on foot from the high street. The stream (brook) runs 70m through the garden, sometimes trout can be seen. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. We cannot wait to return.
We had a fantastic stay at Pear Tree Cottage . Kevin met us at the property and was so friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The area was 'in the sticks' which is exactly what we wanted. There was plenty of room for parking outside the cottage. The heating worked brilliantly and we were never cold, considering it was February. The bedding and towels smelled amazing! The cottage was very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend or stay here again. If I had to pick one draw back it would be that some of the kitchen utensils and pots could be updated...but they were absolutely fine. Di...more
Set at the end of a quiet Cotswold Lane with a large gravelled off-road parking area, Kingsley house is perfect for a peaceful and quiet stay, yet close to many places of interest in the beautiful Cotswolds. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has direct access to the garden and is well equipped for self-catering with a good sized fridge-freezer, large cooker, microwave washer and dryer. Maybe slightly short on pans and serving plates/dished but generally fine. The lounge is characterful with comfy seating and has a TV with many channels and Apps. Overall location good scenery excellent very quiet no dogs barking for inside the property everything was good and all appliances worked has you would expect bathroom very large with a proper size bath and large shower for the price we paid for five days it was way better than expected
Very beatiful modern house. Good furniture. 10 minutes walking from the centre. I suggest to open windows sometimes and clean them.. in any case, a part this details, I recommend this house for future guests
Just ideal for what was looking for in stay, great location for Oxford, very comfortable accommodation, hhgelpful contact. Thank you
We had a lovely long weekend at The Mill, the house was lovely and in a great location for visiting areas in the Cotswold. There were, however, a few things that perhaps need to be improved, the baking tray in the Aga hadn't been cleaned and was full of grease and this was the only one available. We couldn't find any teaspoons in the cutlery drawer, so we purchased some, only to find later that there was a drawer in the dishwasher that hadn't been emptied and tea spoons and other cutlery were in there. We consider this to be a high end rental, but the welcome pack does not reflect this. It ...more
Such a lovely property in a very beautiful and quiet hamlet but with plenty of amenities. Lots of fabulous places to visit that are easily accessible from this location. Would definitely return.
A wonderful cottage, very spacious. Excellent amenities and facilities. Located perfectly to explore the Cotswolds.
The apartment was quite nice but a bit soulless.. not very clean either.. lots of cobwebs. It’s situated right on the A40 very noisy, not well signposted either. The shower temperature in the en suit was broken, and the place was boiling when we arrived, struggled to turn the heat down so had to open all the windows, except in the 2nd bedroom where there was no window only French doors which obviously you can’t have open all night ♀️ All in all, not worth the high charge £560 plus £80 for 2 dogs, this was from 5pm Friday to 10am Sunday, so not even 48hrs
We had a super time at Burghfield Cottage which is ideally situated for Bourton on the Water. The cottage is spacious inside with a lovely garden outside to enjoy. Both StayCotswold and Zoe, the property owner, were most helpful and we would happily recommend their services and the cottage.
Such a delightful little cottage not too far from the centre of Chipping Norton (a 5 minute walk). The Old Sweet Shop was a delight in itself and it was well equipped. A short walk into the town centre where you’ll find everything you need. Our only criticism of the cottage was that the kitchen bins were not emptied upon our arrival, a few “crumbs” underneath the TV and the TV itself was quite hard to phantom out but apart from that, it was faultless, albeit a short walk uphill from parking your car! Overall, I’d recommend this 100% and a very central point to visit neighbouring towns
This was one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Very close to the village centre so no need to use car The car park in front is a little tight for two cars but just about OK.
We had a fab time at Elm Barn. It was well kitted out and perfect for our family week away. The grounds were lovely. Only downside is that it said it was walking distance to the local pub but this would have been on busy main roads so not ideal with small children.
Although the location and cottage were pleasant enough, there were a number of wood lice coming through small holes in the walls which was annoying. We would be dispersing of several each day to find more when we returned each day.
Things to note. If you have a dog the garden is NOT secure! Missing fence panels - mentioned in previous review. Kitchen bin dirty - mentioned in previous review. Crockery needed washing again. I personally cleaned the dishwasher filter as full of food. Bedrooms/Bathroom clean and tidy. Very comfy beds. Would have been nice to have hand towels provided. Really enjoyed our stay but annoying that things mentioned in previous reviews have not been addressed.
We enjoyed a family gathering at Windrush. The location is great being just on the outskirts of Chipping Norton village. The property was clean and comfortable. We had a great weekend.
We had a fantastic stay at Norman Chapel, with our friends. The property has bags on space; plenty for our group of 4 adults, 2 children, 1 baby, and 2 dogs. It has so many lovely features, was beautifully decorated, and well equipped. The garden was large and had a huge patio set. Our friends daughter was unwell the day we checked in, so the housekeeping service ensured the house was ready before the standard check-in time - thank you again!! I would rate the cleanliness at 95% as there were some socks and sunglasses under one of the beds. It may have been hard to spot though, as ...more
The towels, kitchen cloth and glasses were all dirty. For example glasses were covered in a grease. This wasn’t a nice way to begin the trip- having to wash everything. Cottage has so much potential and is in a gorgeous area, but needs a little love. Not enough water for four adults to have a shower means it shouldn’t be advertised for this occupancy. If we were to book again it would defo have to be in the summer, it’s not a cottage for the winter.
A lovely place to stay, very comfortable with all amenities close by. A great place to visit the Cotswolds from and nice to 'chill out' in the evenings in front of the fire. A real 'home from home' Being dog friendly a great bonus too!
Ways End is a lovely house in a nice quiet location in Stow on the Wold. The house is clean and comfortable, with a great size outside space that gets the sun pretty much all day! Stow is a perfect base to explore the Cotswold. We visited Sezincote House, Sudeley Castle, Batsford Arboretum and the Cotswold wildlife park and had a fabulous time at all of them. The only slight negative was that that it was the Stow Horse Fair the week of our stay which meant that a lot of the local pubs and restaurants were closed due to the visiting gypsies. I didn’t even know this was an event, but it...more
We found this an excellent property with our other families staying in the other properties. Lovely safe enclosed large gardens plus other playing fields & games area. Nice river walks with nearby pub garden. local places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
I had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage! The facilities were excellent, and everything was well-maintained. The cozy decoration added a warm and welcoming touch, making it feel like a home away from home. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and would highly recommend it to others.
Lovely barn and village, had a nice relaxing weekend. The barn is big and plenty of room for a family or group with nice gardens to walk around and spend time in. The barn itself could do with a bit of re-decoration but also being an old barn means there will always be cracks and movement in places which can’t be helped! Could do with a better/ bigger shower, maybe a 2nd shower somewhere would be good. Very disappointed with the cleaning, they make a big point of you having to be out by 10am due to the large scale cleaning of the barn. But in reality all they do is “tidy up” and change the ...more
Our first time visiting the UK! This lovely cottage was the perfect location from which to experience one of the jewels of the Cotswolds. The stairs to the bedrooms need to be navigated with care; all else was super comfy.
Myrtle House is a fabulous location, not busy like many of the tourist sights. We loved the layout of the house and for us the beautiful books and artworks made our stay but this isn't what everyone is looking for. A lovely place to stay, with good amenities.
The location was great and building was clean and secure. Designated parking also a bonus. 1 pint of milk left for us. Linens and towels clean and food quality. The flat however was dirty, the kitchen and bathroom especially. There were 4 tiny sachets of coffee and that was it, no tea. There was also raw dog food in the freezer and the washing machine was full of pet hair. Also there were no blinds for 2 roof lights in the bedroom which made for an uncomfortable sleep. Also advertised was a high chair which would be requested but then wasn’t available when I requested.
We had a lovely stay at Elephant Cottage. It is perfectly located in a very convenient location in the centre of Tetbury. The cottage was clean and tidy with everything we needed for a comfortable and cosy stay. The kitchen and living space are lovely and the bedrooms are a decent size and cosy. The logs for the fire was a nice touch!
A very well maintained property with comfy beds and a good bathroom with good attention to detail including umbrellas. Only two of us staying and it worked for us for a few days but would not fully recommend for larger groups as space limited. Seating for kitchen good, chairs in lounge and in rooms and landing far to petite for practical comfortable use, bit like a dolls house - worth a rethink. Gonks a bit eirie too. Advertised pod coffee machine not found. A few essential would have been nice like milk and coffee (a few tea bags provided only). On a busy road but easy walk to Stow, a pub and...more
The cottage is very charming and extremely well equipped. Location was good both within Stow but also to get around to the other villages. We were worried about facing the main road but it didn’t end up bothering us. Bear in mind the fire starter pack is advertised to be available from October - April but doesn’t include October and April (but can be purchased from the petrol station right opposite) Would stay again and would recommend to others.
Our stay at manor farm was fantastic.Lovely cottage with comfortable modern features. Located in Hook Norton not too far away from any of the main attractions,no more than an hours drive away.Would highly recommend.
We stayed a week here, the house had everything you would need for the stay, the kitchen had all the utensils needed, although the Aga took some getting use to. Upstairs bedrooms were a good size, the biggest "But" I have is the smaller of the double room Upstairs desperately needs a new mattress my back was in pieces by the end of the week ( and no the other guests would not swap) or a new mattress topper.
We had a great stay here, it is so convenient to walk into Stow itself and did a great 6km loop walk around the local countryside. The house was comfortable and located opposite Majestic Wine and M&S which was great for picking up food and drink whilst we were there. A few extra loo rolls, bigger towels for longer than a 1 night stay, and mini shampoo/conditioner would have been great for that extra special touch.
The downstairs area was not adequately cleaned, and we found a dustbin with rubbish left inside the wardrobe in one of the bedrooms. Additionally, the WiFi was not functioning, which caused a delay in our evening plans as we spent time trying to resolve the issue.
We had a lovely 4 days at gorgeous Maple House with three generations of our family. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. The living spaces were great for socialising, and the pool table was a huge hit with the teenagers and grandad (although we found discarded vapes in the pool room basket in a non-smoking house!) The kitchen had everything we could have needed and the kind gift of milk, bread, butter, eggs and orange juice was a lovely touch. The downsides were that the freezer leaked and we had to keep mopping up the small puddles, there were quite a few cobwebs, and th...more
Such a shame a lovely house like this is not cared for, the house is cleaned on the surface but look deeper and it’s not good. Sticky cupboards, crumbs in drawers, shower heads need cleaning, utility room is a dumping ground for things not in use, but not tidy. Cupboards with unopened mail just thrown in. The garden needs maintaining- not just the grass cutting. Outside furniture needs cushions now it’s summer. There is more but I will finish on a positive, we really had a lovely time.
Two failed attempts to communication with the manager before arrival - email/telephone. The agents could inform the property manager of the email address of the client to avoid Spam folder issues (if they don't already). A multi zone heating system is much too complicated for people arriving after a long journey to grapple with. Some of the zones were set for 16 deg between 9am and 5pm as if we were going out to work during the day! Consideration must be given to babies/ the elderly/infirm who sleep/rest during the day. Old buildings with thick stone walls only retain heat if they are conti...more
A lovely holiday home in a charming Cotswold village. The accommodation is well-situated for access to various places of interest within the Cotswolds. The cats also make excellent hosts!
Lovely cottage and in a very convenient spot, with plenty of pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Also close to the train station
Great stay in terms of the cottage itself as well as proximity to all the nice attractions and restaurants in the area
I was a little bit worried reading the previous reviews but the house exceeded all expectations! The house was big enough for our group of 7 people, with lot of space to relax after a full day exploring the Cotswold. Rooms were not so big but enough for a short stay, kitchen was we'll equipped and we were so lucky with the weather that we even had dinner in the small but well cared for garden. Our favorite room was the conservatory, bright and spacious for everybody! The general cleanliness of the house was not optimal, It could be improved. I had the need to communicate with the manager of th...more
On arrival we found a beautiful stone cottage in the sunshine. It was easy to access and once in could see that there was everything we would need. It was spotless and the outside area with hot tub was a real bonus as the weather was amazing. The beds were super comfy and there was plenty of room for our little dogs to make themselves at home. All in all a fantastic stay in a lovely Cotswold cottage. Communication was excellent throughout. Thank you.
A gathering of the family for my brother’s 50th. Ages from 88 to 4 months. Had a lovely stay. Perfect position. Kind touches such as the wine, cake and milk. Thanks very much. Only reservation was the 2 single beds in the cottage that go end to end. A bit hard but the youngsters coped.
My general rule of thumb when booking and paying good money for a holiday property is that it needs to be as good as, if not better, than my own home. Sadly Orchard Cottage, although a lovely little Cotswolds Cottage in a great location, does not meet that standard. The whole property inside needs upgrading, it looks as though it was made ready as a holiday let about ten years ago and has not been touched since. We stayed over Christmas 2024, therefore this review is based on a winter stay. Firstly the heating was struggling and only one radiator upstairs on the landing, no heating in the bed...more
Booking process and pre-stay information was spot on, can't fault it. Great location for Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Cirencester etc. We stayed at the cottage as we had a family wedding in Burford which is only a short drive away. Bourton-on-the-Water is a beautiful village, lots to do and see. The cottage has rustic charm with lots of great features i.e. an abundance of plate and glassware and nice touch having a canteen of cutlery for use. The cottage on the surface was fine; however, it is a bit tired and would benefit from a deep clean and better quality pillows. Apart from this we ha...more
Post Office Cottage is located in the beautiful village of Shipton-under-Wychwood. The location is perfect for exploring The Cotswolds. However, in terms of the accommodation itself, it is getting tired and needs maintenance. The front gate is broken. The internal paintwork needs a refresh, particularly the painted kitchen cupboards. Cleanliness also needs attention. A leftover pizza crust stuck to foil in the oven grill pan is not acceptable. The TV was smeared in handprints. The outdoor bins were full of the previous occupant’s rubbish. There is a lack of information regarding t...more
The cottage had gone bones and nice materials, but was not updated to today,s standard and the cottage was not propely cleaned for a long time ! Everything from glass, decor and kitchen eqipment was dirty !
