Sun Cottage is situated in the village of Kingham which is within half an hours drive to Stow on the Wold, Broadway and Bourton on the Water. On arrival we found the cottage to be clean and well equipped catering for all our needs. The bed we slept in was especially comfortable. The enclosed garden has a lovely sunny patio area ideal for relaxing at the end of the day and is ideal for guest with a dogs. Unfortunately we had a small problem with the electics tripping out. But after making a phone call and a visit from the property manager the problem was swiftly resolved. A sign that shows the ...more
What an amazing place. The cottage was absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated and presented lovely. The house was clean and had everything we could have needed. We will be back!!!
My stay was really amazing, over expected, the cottage is very comfortable, charm and cozy. You can find all the things you need and more. The essence of the living room is indescriptible. Hope back soon. Very recommended.
Coleman’s elm was a perfect stay, there were six of us and we stayed there comfortably. Beautiful house in picturesque grounds. The hot tub was a bonus as that wasn’t there when we booked. Within a short drive to all the little villages, farm shops and amenities. Brewery just down the road. All in all just what we had hoped and more. Only downside one full bathroom, you just had to have good rotation. And the games room was freezing, which actually was perfect for us to use as a fridge for the Christmas food but if you wanted to use it as a games room it was cold in there. We would definitely ...more
We had a fantastic weekend and the house was brilliant - we will definitely be returning in the future
Lovely little cottage, beautifully curated and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s the perfect size, thoughtfully laid out, and wonderfully cosy. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would happily return.
We stayed at the Barn for eleven days in April 26. From the moment we unlocked the door we knew that we had made the right choice. Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was provided, including a very generous and well thought out welcome present from the owners Gina & Simon. A perfect base to explore the Cotswolds and to relax after a long day discovering all the places to visit.
Fosseside Cottage is in a great location, away from the busy end of the village but near enough to walk. It’s also great for getting out on the main road to visit other places. The house was relatively easy to find but we thought an outside light would have been helpful as the key safe was at the back of the house and it was dark at 5pm when we stayed. The house was extremely clean and very comfortable, spacious and warm, with everything we needed for our stay. We were grateful for the emergency lighting during a brief power cut. We enjoyed the welcome pack and were impressed by the quick re...more
I booked Fleece House for a birthday celebration (6 adults) neither I or the rest of the party have any complaints. A stunning property with high end fixtures and fittings, beautiful! Perfect for 6 adults (3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms) well equipped outdoor space with outdoor furniture and BBQ. It even had space for 2 cars behind the courtyard garden and we were lucky enough to grab a 3rd parking spot right outside. The location was perfect. A 2 minute walk in to the town (Stow) and 10/15 minute drive to Bourton -On -The Water. Great for also visiting Clarksons Diddly Squat and the Farmer...more
This is my favourite place to stay. I have stayed a few times with my daughter, husband and friends, but this time I took my mum, who loved the place as much as me. Everything was perfect, as usual, exceptionally clean and well cared for. I cannot fault it, the location is superb with lovely places to eat and visit.
Butchers Flat is a gorgeous apartment which we’ve stayed in 3 times now. The owners have thought of everything you need and it really is a home from home. Fantastic location overlooking the high street too. Comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms add to the experience
Stayed here over the bank holiday with friends and it was perfect. Brilliant location where we could easily get to shops, pubs and also go for walks. Loved being above a bakery to get some morning pastries! The flat was done beautifully and much more spacious than we thought from the photos. Everything we needed was there including kicthen utensils. Two people in our party drove and managed to find free parking nearby with relative ease. Would very much recomend this as a lovely weekend!
What a special Cotswolds property in this pretty and welcoming village. High spec, with every need thought about and catered for. Beautiful garden. We all enjoyed our time here at this exceptional property and would happily rebook. Hopefully avoid the stormy weather next time but the wood-burning stove made it cosy and comfortable. Excellent communication from the outset.
A lovely old school house converted. We had the end apartment which had off street parking ( rare around this location) . The place it's self was excellent. Great living room and fully equipped kitchen. Open plan mezzanine bedroom with storage room. And every accessory at hand, ie 2 large fans which we definitely needed. Large double bed and bathroom. My only negative about the whole place is I'm 6 foot 5 tall and the entrance to the upstairs bathroom is quite low, but I managed. Excellent location for all the local villages and places to see. Will definitely be booking this place agai...more
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Perfect setting, Really lovely accommodation. Ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds towns. Looking forward to a revisit.
Third time here! What a lovely place, home from home.Lots of little extras from the hosts. Superb and very comfortable place with great views.
We had a great time at the coach house which is spacious and well equipped. The snowdrops were amazing and there are beautiful views. Everything is done by the hosts to make staying there a luxurious treat
We stayed for a long weekend. Warm & friendly greeting by the owner & her family. Cottage is ideally located in the centre of Bourton on the water, with public transport on the doorstep. Spacious cottage, Immaculately clean, beautiful furnishings, lovely hot showers. Added bonus of a family taxi service provided by Seb who took us to The Farmers Dog. Thankyou for an enjoyable weekend.
My husband and I recently stayed at College Cottage with our baby and dog - we couldn’t recommend more! The property is very well maintained and has a very luxury but homely feel to it. The appliances are all top notch (Sage coffee machine, Smeg kettle, Dyson hairdryers) and the welcome hamper was a real surprise and made such a difference when we arrived. I would say that if you bring a dog with you, the courtyard isn’t great for them and you’ll likely need to take them out regularly, but there’s plenty of green space around. There was a travel cot set up for us when we arrived with mattres...more
We had a lovely weekend staying at the Sheiling! The accomodation was perfect, and the spot is truly quiet with the most amazing sunset colours! The Sheiling is full of every comfort. We loved it and hopefully will be able to come back!
Overall excellent, ideal for a short break. A guest book for people to put there comments would be nice. Quality throughout.
My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Highgate. The cottage and patio area are charming and comfortable, as well as immaculate and nicely appointed. In addition, our host was easily reachable. I would highly recommend staying at this location.
What a gorgeous little place. So cute! Furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Outside bath a treat - just allow plenty of time to fill! Two lovely pubs 5 mins walk and a chippy and co-op. Lots of lovely walks. I don’t stay anywhere twice as there is so much to see in the world- but if I did I would!
Honeysuckle is a very tasteful and comfortable cottage with a high standard. We very much enjoyed our stay there and loved this quiet romantique village. As the weather was very beautiful we were able to spend time in the outdoor area on the little terrace with comfortable lounge seats but also in the big garden. The dinner area inside is full of light but without view, as the windows are covered with film for privacy. A serving tray would be great for meals in the garden. There are many lovely walks starting from the house. We would love to stay there again.
A beautifully presented property which is ideally located for a whole host of Cotswold venues . We have stayed in numerous properties across the UK in the last thirteen years and this ranks within the top three.
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Old Workshop. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and furnished to a high standard throughout. We liked the unspoilt setting too. In terms of minor suggestions, we thought a nonslip mat for the shower would have been useful, as would some appliance instructions. It was frustrating that the hairdryer could not be used within reach of a mirror. However, overall we had a very good week and would not hesitate to recommend it. Thank you!
We loved Enoch's Cottage. It is a typical Cotswolds Cottage with a comfortable ground-floor bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen and a lovely lovely garden. We loved sitting in the sunset, we had a bbq with excellent meat from Hops and Chops (Farmers Dog Pub). Sarah is a lovely landlady and has always been in contact with us. We loved our stay and have booked again for next year.
Great location lots of nice eating places and central to all the Cotswold villages. We were very comfortable in the cottage. Only suggestion is that a washing machine would have been nice .
We had an amazing stay at Stonelands. The home is immaculate, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The photos do not do it justice! There is so much space, warmth and comfort about this home. The garden is beautifully kept and enormous! Strongly recommend this home, the best we have found on our numerous trips to The Cotswolds, and we would stay again!
Cottage was cute, cosy perfect location Fantastic walks on the doorstep Pub next to cottage serves fantastic food Hosts very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble
The accommodation is beautiful and very cosy. The owner, John, was very accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again.
The shepherds hut was just lovely and had all we needed for our few days away. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom nice and clean. The location is just lovely and VERY quiet. It's also a good location for exploring the cotswolds. The little kitchen area (including a small fridge) was very useful and it was nice that the hut was already stocked with tea/coffe/sugar/biscuits and a bottle of wine. We had a lovely time....so nice in fact that it stopped us visiting places as the hut and location was so lovely! We were lucky with the weather but honestly, a really lovely place......we ...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pilgrim Cottage. The house is well stocked with all the essentials you need for a short stay. The cottage is quite quirky inside in terms of decor, but really tastefully designed. The beds were very comfy. The bells at the Church do ring on the hour every hour which you can hear with the window open at night. The road is quite narrow but we did find a parking space every day.
We had 4 nights staying at the Fox, a great converted barn, plenty of room with lovely views, friendly hosts and ideal area to see the Cotswolds sights. Will definitely return
Our third visit and not our last. Lovely comfortable accommodation in a beautiful location. A choice of walks start just outside the door, no need to get in the car. Charlbury an easy walk away with a choice of pubs, Finstock a little further but worth the effort.
We had a family celebration for a birthday and Wood Cottage was ideal location for 2 relatives (and their dog) to stay over for the weekend. The cottage was in excellent condition, very close by to our home and offered very good facilities for their stay.
It was clean spacious and fully equiped with all we needed. It is a lovely spot in Blockley and great bonus was the off street parking. The only improvement would be an earlier check in time rather than 5.00pm.
We spent one week in this cottage, and could have stayed more. Such a nice place and fantastic surroundings. Nothing negative to say. Do try the Fox Inn. It's good fun and good food.
The cottage was decorated and designed to an extremely high standard giving a warm and welcoming feel . All furniture and fittings were of a very high standard . For practicality reasons a few basic additions would have been useful. A bowl for the sink if needed , coasters for drinks and oven gloves. There was no instructions for removal of rubbish or recycling. The hot water was far to hot , almost at boiling point. That said we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return someday.
Beautiful property in a peaceful location. The property was just as described, well equipped, beautifully clean and very comfortable- it is possibly the best property we have stayed in and would return without question.
Overall it was a 5 out of 5, and good value. Everything was clean, fresh, and well prepared for our stay. The owner was totally responsive to our needs, even replaced the coffee machine within hours from when we reported an issue. Being 100 steps from High Street was perfect! The beds were very comfortable. However if there was one thing that was not perfect, our group all agreed it was the sitting furniture in the lounge. While it appeared to be comfortable in the photos, our experience was very different. It just turned out to be a room we couldn’t be comfortable to enjoy. Putting that sin...more
Our second stay at Pinkney house and yet again, we had the most incredible stay! Such an awesome location and a stunning place to stay! We’ll be returning again soon!
We stayed here over Mayday bank holiday as a group of 10 plus our dog. The booking process and comms were excellent. The house was easy to find due to great signage and was beautiful. The location was just outside a small village on the edge of a farm so very rural. It was a 15-20 minute walk from the nearest pub (The George which is well worth a visit). Lots of lovely walks round the house. House had 3 bedrooms plus an adjoining annex With 2 further bedrooms. Nice living room which would seat 10 plus a dining area and kitchen. We BBQd outdoors and cooked in the kitchen, plenty of space for b...more
Staying here was like moving into a new apartment. My wife and I really enjoyed six nights here in the wonderful town of Moreton-in-marsh. The lounge overlooked the high street whcih is suprisingly quiet but fun to watch! New modern kitchen well stocked with necessary items. Excellent t.v. and internet. Bathroom was well appointed with an excellent bath / shower. Bedroom was large and very comfortable. Can't fault the accommodation, it's clear the owners really care about standards! We're coming back soon! Thank you - Peter & Joan
We had a lovely stay in the piggy in the middle very spacious open plan living room and dining area .comfy beds and lovely power shower .The apartment was spotless and the owners provided us with a lovely cake for our arrival. The apartment was in a perfect position for visiting the surrounding areas ,parking was great we will definitely come back here in the future cheers
We spent a lovely three days at Ostlers over half term with our children. We used the house as a base to visit family in Oxford (very easy via short drive and park & ride) and venture to some of our favourite places in the Cotswolds (Hidcote Manor Garden and Burford Garden Centre). Ostlers was in a great location on the High Street and was warm and welcoming. We found it really comfortable and ideal for our needs with three good sized bedrooms, a lovely lounge and kitchen diner. We really enjoyed the traditional period aspects of the house and helped make us feel that we had been away for ...more
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. We loved it. It is so central and convienient. Lovely stay x
The Tallat is in a great location just a few minutes from Burford. The property is really well equipped with everything that you need for your stay. Look forward to staying there again and would thoroughly recommend the Tallat to other people.
We had a wonderful time at Izods Cottage. It was a home away from home. Located in the heart of chipping Camden, it’s a short walk to all the main spots. We loved it
Beautiful house in a great location, parking can be an issue but they do have a parking permit for further up the street. The interior was finished to a high standard. An enjoyable stay.
An enjoyable stay in a beautifully furnished and comfortable house. Everything we needed was provided including a cot and highchair for our 10 month old grandson. The owners were very helpful and on hand when there was a slight issue with one of the showers. It was fixed almost immediately. The cottage gardens are lovely and we were able to enjoy a BBQ with plenty of seating outside. The location is good and noise from the road was minimal. We walked to the excellent Boxing Hare pub across fields of wild flowers. The beds were very comfortable and the only very slight negative is that t...more
Fantastic Place. Rural, Beautiful cottage. Quiet , Fantastic. Booked for next year. Lots more walks to do yet
The client reservations team at Stay Cotswolds pulled out all the stops to secure a much needed, last minute break with just 2 days notice over a bank holiday weekend! Garden Cottage is in a wonderful location, just a few minutes from the town centre with all the shops, pubs and restaurants. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the hot tub which was so relaxing. Thank you Stay Cotswolds and the owner, Allison
Having stayed at Ash Barn recently we were blown away by the whole package We stayed in the Tractor shed and the facilities were excellent, location it’s central to all needs and 30 mins max drive to the likes of Blockley, Bourton-en-the/water, Chipping Camden. The team on site can’t do enough for you We are looking to return shortly to explore more of this wonderful area
We hired The Cosh for my daughters 50th birthday family party. There were 12 of us and we all agreed the house was great for this occasion. Very spacious accommodation upstairs and downstairs. As the weather was hot we spent a lot of time outside where there was plenty of tables, chairs and couches. (an umbrella would have been welcome as it was so hot) It was lovely first thing in the morning sitting outside listening to the stream bubbling away at the bottom of the garden and listening to the birds. Can thoroughly recommend this house for large family get togethers. Very well equipped a...more
This cottage is only a few months old so everything is perfectly clean. The renovation has been done to the highest standard which means the comfort was just right. Sofa and bed are highest quality - Daylesford toiletries were lovely. Kingham Plough opposite offers a limited take out option if needed. Daylesford also offers takeaway pizzas. Kingham is a very quiet village and although there are other cottages around you it’s extremely quiet and peaceful. We had a superb meal at The Hare at Milton ( around 12 mins drive from cottage) it’s a Sister hotel to the Plough but they specialise in fis...more
peaceful retreat Well equipped spacious even for seven adults Friendly owners Pleasure to watch the kites fly overhead
Fantastic house and great location. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back. Shame about the neighbours!
Having lived in Winchcombe and grown up there myself and my mum come every year from south coast to get our Cotswold fix. This cottage was perfect location, short walk into Winchcombe and a great base for the surrounding walks in the countryside. Was a very typical Cotswold stone cottage but a beautiful functional open space inside, every detail was considered. Appreciated the separate utility entrance, perfect for muddy dog cleaning. Very cosy and comfortable. Everything we needed. We had the best 5 days!
A very welcoming cottage with all the amenities you need to make for a very enjoyable stay. Location is great within a very short walking distance to the centre of town. Parking is very secure within a gated area with ample space for 2 cars. I would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return one day, overall a great stay.
Pear Tree Cottage was fantastic for weekend getaway with Friends. The location was fantastic, just a short stroll away from the Main Street. The Garden was beautiful. I would highly recommend booking. Only negative was the early check out time (10am) It felt very rushed trying to get 5 ladies out in time. No time to enjoy breakfast or relax
The house was perfect and spotlessly clean. All information provided in advance and in the cottage covered everything we needed to know. Thank you.
We stayed at the Brewery with friends and family and honestly cannot recommend it enough. The house is stunning - so much so that I didn’t want to leave and the location is absolutely perfect. Stay Cotswolds provided responses well and information was perfect. I’d definitely book with them again!
We had a delightful 2 day stay at sycamore - it is the perfect base for exploring the cotswold villages . Apartment is well appointed ,comfortable bed and a cosy sitting area,
Pro’s: really good for an elderly person with ground floor bedroom and en-suite. Picturesque location, good access and parking. Sun trap patio style court yard. Nice decor and good space for up to 4 -6. Bedrooms good. Kitchen well utility stocked. Improvements: the main bathroom & toilet in poor repair and could do with TLC. The dining room could be better purposed (we did not utilise).
Spacious apartment, well set up, great location. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. …… ..
My wife (66) and I (68) selected the Haven in Chipping Norton as our headquarters for exploring the Cotswolds. The town of Chipping Norton is convenient to many attractions (Sudeley Castle, Broadway, Snowshill Manor etc..) and the Haven proved an excellent choice for accomodation. The rooms are large, the beds comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Within Chipping Norton, the Haven is also well situated for grocery shopping as the Co-Op is definitely within walking distance as are numerous coffee shops and pubs. As commented on by other reviewers, locating the unit via Weavers Yard is a ch...more
We had a wonderful midweek stay at Green Farm, as a group of 5 adults and a whippet. It is an idyllic Cotswold stone country farmhouse, in a really beautiful, quiet, private setting and is equipped with all you could ask for. The accommodation throughout is spacious and very comfortable with excellent quality decor and furnishings. It is also very well situated to enjoy all the local attractions and is a short walk from the town, where there are some lovely food shops stocking local fresh produce. We would all love to return one day.
A very special time was had by all from 9mths to 81 yrs. Everything you might need was provided to a very high standard. Perfect accommodation in a superb setting.
Ridge Barn was just perfect for our all-adult family gathering to celebrate two birthdays. Easy to find and get into, with plenty of parking. Semi open-plan living space, four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms (and a separate toilet) made it so easy to live in, we wished we were staying longer. Large well-equipped kitchen, dining table for up to 8 and the longest sofa I have ever seen! Great views out across the countryside and we even used the outdoor seating area very briefly. Would definitely recommend and would return.
Arrived at Devon House Cottage after following clear directions sent by email. Accommodation was very comfortable with everything needed for our stay. Nice homely feel to the cottage, and positioned in a nice quiet area, but only a ten minute stroll into Stow town. Lovely little town, but lots of eating places were closed week 11th/15th May, due to an annual Horse Fair, which did take away abit of the atmosphere, with the town being very quiet. Would highly recommend this Accommodation at any other time.
The place is lovely an it’s so fun staying centrally in Cirencester. Only issue is parking, costly in the overnight car park for however many nights you stay. 2 lovely bedrooms and a spacious apartment.
We really enjoyed our mini-break in Knoll Cottage. Lovely cottage with a beautiful garden. It is our 6th time staying in Blockley and would definitely recommend The Blockley Café. With regard to the house; it would be really useful to have recycling facilities. We ended up taking all our recycling and compostables home with us. Also, some coat hooks on the front door would be helpful. We are hoping to visit again in September.
Excellent charming and comfortable cottage, exceptionally clean and well appointed. Only minor issues were that the light in the fridge and the oven did not work, bulbs probably needed replacing, and the heating needed setting up and programming properly, as it came on and off at odd times and at low temperatures, but it did not deter from our enjoyment. Lovely cottage just a short walk from the town centre and all it has to offer, love Chipping Campden.
Stayed here as a group of mixed couples and singles for a wedding the local area. Absolutely stunning property that had everything we needed and more. Lovely area and lots nearby. Hosts were very communicative and we were extremely grateful for the late checkout! Small things like that really made the difference. All in all would recommend.
Blockley is the most beautiful village and has plenty of nooks and crannies to explore close to Rosewood Cottage. The house is perfect as a base with everything we needed for the week. The great weather helped although the house was cool in the evening. Everything was clean, directions and instructions were perfect and there was not one thing we could complain about.
I stayed in the Littlestock Shepherds Hut for 4 nights with my partner and we had a fabulous time. Ian and Julia have created the hut with such care - you have everything you need there and it is all organised perfectly. The shower and toilet are great too. The hut is in a great location to visit gorgeous places like Stow on Wold, Chipping Norton and Charlbury. It is a real switch off. Ian and Julia are lovely people and couldn't have been more accommodating hosts.
Location of the property was easy to find once the satnav worked! Great location that was quiet and had some great views. We dropped on well with the weather which only enhanced the experience. Very comfortable, spacious and well recommended. Note to owner (please remove this before posting if required) - the lights in the 2nd double bedroom opposite the bathroom didn't work - looked everywhere for the correct fuse box, all that we did see were ok. Also the BBQ gas was empty.
We had a fantastic stay with plenty of room (and bathrooms!) for 7 adults, 3 children and 1 dog. The well equipped kitchen was very much appreciated, and the kids loved watching the skydivers. Easy check in and out, plus excellent customer service from Natalie and her team, who were kind enough to post a couple of items we had mistakenly left behind.
We had a fabulous midweek break , ideal for us , off road parking a boon . All facilities of property first class .
The booking process was straightforward and correspondence clear. The owners were very helpful and the cottage is as described, very comfortable and well equipped. Perfect location for a visit to Stroud, quiet area with walks along the canal, yet close to the town centre. Lovely area for walks and viewing points at Roborough Common and Standish Woods. Would definitely stay again
Lovely accommodation with very friendly and helpful staff. Thoughtful touches like the welcome pack with biscuits ,butter, milk, bread with even some ice cream as it was a heat wave.Secluded garden so need to worry about our toddler and dog escaping.Plenty to do with a hot tub which was in constant use.A sauna and a games room where there was a lot of competition with the table tennis which was fun .Lovely long walk down to the river where the children paddle boarded. Two of the boards were provided..Altogether a wonderful holiday .
Great location with only a short walk to centre of town for shops, bars and eating out. Good sized pleasant garden that keeps the sun all day and very quiet. Accommodation was clean with small sitting area, adequate kitchen with utilities, 2 good sized bedrooms and excellent shower. Although ok, the sofas could be more comfortable as could the outdoor seating. Upstairs floorboards “creak” heavy when walking on. Impossible to park on street but car park only a minute away and very reasonable - £4:60 per day. All said we enjoyed our stay at Buttercup cottage.
We were a family of 6 adults, 2 children and a baby staying for a week over new year on The Barn. It was really spacious, but also so cosy and warm. The spaced out bedroom arrangements suited us brilliantly. The log fire was great and the kitchen had everything needed. The bathrooms are lovely to use. All round it was great
Thank you for a fabulous weekend in the Old Rectory to celebrate a 2nd birthday a 50th birthday and a 60th birthday. I have fallen in love with the house. The views are breath taking. The house is perfect with plenty of space. Could not fault a thing. The village is lovely and the local pub so welcoming.
My 3 sons and I had a wonderful stay at the Old Forge. It was everything we could have wished. Clean, cosy, really comfortable, very well equipped, fell in love with the character and the attention to detail in every room was second to none. Provided with loads of towels and even milk for that important cuppa on arrival. There are a couple of things that could have made it even better but this is due to having a very small dog (daschund) and the heatwave. The fan in the top room was brilliant but an aircon unit would be more beneficial, the fence behind the hot tub needs the gap at the ...more
Beautiful property, very well maintained in a lovely village with two good pubs- Would absolutely stay here again. Kitchen, Well appointed lots of crockery, cutlery, et cetera and beautiful entrance to the garden area which made eating outside work really effectively. A few things to note- there is actually only one shower in the property- This was really inconvenient with four couples. The bathroom on the top floor has a handheld shower which is just not suitable with eight adults in a house. Also it would be lovely to have some more products in the bathrooms- there was hand was...more
A great venue for celebrating our daughter’s marriage. They married in Hong Kong but wanted both their family's, who live in the U.K., to be together to celebrate this special union. The venue needed to be wheelchair accessible with a wet-room. We hired all 5 cottages, including the hub, which allowed us to entertain everybody. Andrew the owner, and Shelley the housekeeper, were very supportive, listening to our needs and went out of their way to help us. We sourced our catering locally and used The Sadlers in Farringdon. Food and service over the weekend was excellent. Great idea...more
We loved this property. It was very smart, well decorated and in a great location. We loved the kitchen which was well equipped and had a good flow. The heating system was spot on and felt very comfortable. The separation of 2 houses in one was very clever. Although the lounge area was spacious, it probably needed more seating for 10 people. I would highly recommend this house. Very lovely.
Beautiful cottage, cleanliness was outstanding which we really appreciated as it makes you feel relaxed.
Our second stay here at Furrow Barn. Love the location, the barn had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Definitely will be back for a third time.
Perfect place to spend a few days, lovely interior really matches the vibe of area in which it lies. Village is peaceful and quiet as is the property. Coming from the city it's a great place to unwind in the evenings Great location to visit all the surrounding area.
I think the title says it all. The Cottage is perfect, impeccably furnished, with the availability of all the comforts. The area is very central and allows you to visit all the main places of the Cotswolds. Me, my wife and my little girl spent 5 wonderful days, also thanks to the availability and kindness of the owners Jane and Bob who were present right away and did everything to make us feel at home and to give us advice on what to visit during the day... imagine that the little girl did not want to go back to Italy, she would have preferred to stay with Jane!! We will definitely come back.....more
We had a wonderful time staying at The Staircase and would highly recommend a visit! The holiday home was welcoming, spacious, clean and very comfortable. It was in an excellent location as we had everything Stow-on-the-Wold had to offer on our doorstep. We had no trouble finding a parking space which was only a short walk away. Communication with both our host and the holiday agency was efficient and helpful. We would be very happy to visit again in the future
Little bird is perfect for a short stay and we’ve just returned from a weekend break. The cottage is incredibly comfortable and cosy with good quality furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is equipped for a short stay though could benefit from s couple of items if you are catering for yourselves. That said there’s plenty of cafes and pubs/restaurants in the area offering a great selection. We had several walks from the doorstep with our dog - Bibury is so pretty and whilst very busy we managed to find routes across the countryside to enjoy the peace and beautiful surrounding...more
Chapel House had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Grateful for the basket of eggs , milk, bread, and butter. Also tea bags and coffee. In the centre of Bampton and I hope we can visit again next year. I recommend it.
Everything very pleasant except weather. Lovely cottage and location, countryside beautiful with much to do.
We were very blown away by this cottage! It was so beautiful and quaint and easily walkable to all the shops and restaurants in town. Working with Tasha was great and helped us get us all sorted for arrival. I would 100% recommend staying here!
A beautiful cottage in a beautiful picturesque village - ideal location with pub opposite and the village green overlooked by the beautiful garden… places of interest all nearby- Bourton-on-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, The Farmers Dog lovely Sunday Lunch and we even managed a bit of Clay Shooting at nearby Cotswolds Clay Club … the cottage itself was very well laid out with comfy sofas and a lovely well stocked kitchen with double doors out to the garden with outdoor seating - we were even lucky enough with the weather so made use of the BBQ and played table tennis and croquet all whilst watching ...more
Our stay was excellent with great facilities, in a beautiful location. The weather was great as well.
This house is stunning, the beds are very comfortable, everything is of a very high standard, the perfect house for our 60th birthday celebrations with special friends, great location, near fabulous walks and pubs with great food, we had an unforgettable time here
I spent three nights at Middle Gable cottage. It is perfectly situated in Bourton-On-The-Water. There are many places to eat within just a few minutes walk. A supermarket is also just a short distance away so it was possible to stock up on milk and food to settle into the cottage for the stay. The cottage is clean and comfortable. There is a lovely living room with a television to relax in at the end of the day, plus a very nice kitchen. There is the choice of either a shower and toilet downstairs, or a bathroom upstairs. It is in a quiet area and has a very pretty garden. The cottage ...more
This was my first time staying at Vespers, though I’ve stayed at Camden Farm before (usually in Aurora). The Shepherd’s Hut is lovely — it has a slightly different layout that makes the bed area feel very cosy and inviting. The views from the property are absolutely amazing, and I enjoyed seeing plenty of wildlife during my stay. Also the welcome treats are always greatly appreciated!! The hut is situated next to a public walking path, so you may occasionally see a few passersby, but it didn’t detract much from the peaceful atmosphere. There were a couple of minor issues, mainly relating...more
Lovely cottage. Very peaceful. But a very quiet area and it was a shame the pub across the road was closed for refurbing under new management. Took a while to get a uber to go into bourton on the water. A bit far to walk. But the overall a lovely place and cottage. I would recommend
What an amazing setting for this property, secure, secluded but with amazing views and walks surrounding it!
The Old Vicarage is a beautifully restored Cotswold house. Traditional, with modern amenities. Very comfortable furniture, including all beds, stunning views all around, pretty gardens. The kitchen is very well equipped and the set up great. The location we know well and it is a small and quiet village. Great base to explore from. I didn’t have any verbal communication with StayCotswold as all the information was provided in emails and their booking portal. I did speak to their property manager, Shelley, who was lovely, very helpful and accommodating. I would very much recommend the house ...more
Accommodation very clean. Lacked a microwave. Needs cushions and a parasol for outside. Lawn desperately needed cutting, more like a wild field, Also , didn't like the little thin mattress on top of the main mattress, not even the same size so we found the bed uncomfortable. Noel and Sue
Really enjoyed our stay, beautiful Shepard's hut with a spacious hot tub. Based in a lovely little village with a cosy pub round the corner, serving nice food. The hut was clean and has everything needed for a weekend's stay. Only slight issue was how short the bed was as we are both tall, but can't be helped too much with the size of the hut.
1st class accommodation. Beautifully kepy The owner has thought of everything and more, such a lovely lady. Couldn't wish for better.l highly recommend, it. Thank you for, your home made plums jam grown from your garden it is delicious . I would definitely stay there again if we got the chance, Love Lynne and Alan x
Lovely place, with excellent facilities and plenty of parking for at least 5 cars with the added bonus of a EV charger. Great to have a dart board and table football in the conservatory.
Our second time staying in this property. Lots of space for our 2 families, extremely comfortable living area and fantastic kitchen/dining area, very sociable. Pub at the end of the drive does great food and the property is in a brilliant location for exploring the Cotswolds or local walks from the door. We’ll definitely be back for another visit.
We had a wonderful stay at Orchard House at Broadwell Manor. A perfect blend of modern (the interior) and historic (the exterior). A cozy and spacious living room, a practical kitchen, a gorgeous shower and a very comfy bed. And the area ... well, it's the Cotswolds. Lovely!
The Gardners Cottage gave us a wonderful base to explore the Cotswolds and the region is truly an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Each day we loaded up in our vehicle and set off to explore a different area of the region. The Gardners Cottage is well appointed and beautifully laid out - it easily accommodates a large group of people. Being essentially on a single level it would accommodate people with some mobility issues. The outside area and gardens were beautiful and much appreciated with the 30C+ tempertures that we had during our stay. The beds were on the firm side but the lin...more
Had a fabulous stay. Beautiful accommodation that had everything you needed. Went during the heatwave and rooms were unbearably hot but got in touch with our contact Hamilton and he went out and purchased a fan and delivered it to our room and it made a massive difference. You cannot fault customer service as good as that. We loved it. So central too everything on your doorstep. And everyone we met were so friendly and helpful. Comfy beds, lovely sitting room, well equipped kitchen and the whole place was light and airy. Would definitely recommend to anyone although there were a few steep...more
My family and I couldn't have enjoyed our stay at Vine cottage more. Despite being very central within Chipping Norton, it managed to feel quite tucked away. On a very hot week, having the garden space (and fans left in the bedrooms!) made life much easier as well. The space itself worked really well for us. While the sloping ceilings upstairs meant I had to watch my head once or twice, both bedrooms were comfortable and very well maintained. Off-street parking was a real bonus, especially with a young child and all the stuff that tends to bring with it. There are a few stairs between the pa...more
A fantastic place to stay, beautiful position, gardens and village. Spacious and comfortable rooms, brilliant kitchen. Only improvement would be a washing machine. Highly recommend this property.
We absolutely loved our short break at Cosy Cross Keys. The cottage is ideally located in the centre of the village in walking distance of all the pubs and shops. There is no private parking which was a concern when we booked but it was not a problem at all. We parked in the road behind the cottage which is easily accessible from the alley next to the house. There was always a space available whenever we went out in the car. We visited all of the local Cotswold villages while we were there and feel that Stow was the best choice for us. The cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped an...more
A fantastic place to stay, the views over the millpond from the house are incredible. A place to relax and unwind. Ideally placed for walking and days out in some of the Cotswolds most beautiful towns. We will definitely return.
Cottage was lovely although I wished it had a bit if garden attached to let the dog out , also the bedroom was extremely hot However the weather was extremely hot for may this year . Also loft windows 1 had no blind so let the sun in 445 am and the window opposite the bed had a very fine net type curtain which also let the sun blinding in . Although I contacted Kevin and eventually a dog blanket was put up at 1of the windows which help otherwise we would have got no sleep . The cottage was good for travel to all the places we wanted to visit so overall a lovely stay . But the windows definitel...more
A beautiful cottage, centrally located with parking. Lots of restaurants within walking distance of the cottage. Nice to have a garden aswell. Everything in good condition in the cottage.
What a find we had a lovely time, the house was spotless and in a perfect location just a short walk into the village. The house had everything we needed and the hot tub was a bonus. Outside seating areas were perfect although only four sun beds for six adults but we just used chairs. Kevin was amazing nothing was too much trouble kept us updated with our arrival time and was so accommodating. I would definitely recommend here for a stay we didn’t have our dogs but would be perfect for dog owners too. Would definitely go back. Note if going at peak time would strongly advise booking t...more
We had a fabulous 3 generation stay at The Old Stores over the Easter holidays. There was so much to do around the area that we were kept busy for the week. Lovely downstairs layout with plenty of space for everyone and a couple of perfect days to enjoy the outside space. Pub and shop close by for emergencies and no shortage of equipment in the kitchen. We’ve used Stay Cotswold before and I’m certain we will use them again.
We had a lovely relaxing stay. The location was very peaceful and private. Some great walks from the property and the locals were very friendly.
Staying here was a slice of heaven! The cottage itself was incredibly comfortable and very well equipped with a great private garden in front. I love to cook, and the kitchen had everything I needed, which is rare with short-term rentals. The small grocery across the street was perfect for our needs, and there was plenty to do in the area, with beautiful local walks, several nice pubs, and Norton Hook brewery close by. Multiple sites in the cotswalds are just a short drive away. Being able to light a real fire in the fireplace was a treat. We would love to return!
Lovely cottage in perfect situation for the Vale of the White Horse and lower Cotswolds. Very comfortable and well equipped. Can recommend the local pubs especially the Woodman The Greyhound and the highlight Eagle Tavern. We will be back very soon
Wonderful rental house for our family of 4. Completely equipped, private jet central in the village.
The cottage was cosy and situated right in Chipping Norton. Convenient to have a parking space as Chipping Norton is quite busy. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. However, some of the crockery was chipped and one plate had a crack right across it (not done by us). Also, in the lounge area there was a rug that had a stain on it and two of the cushions were threadbare and torn. These things just made it look a bit unkept. We had a problem with the heating upstairs. I contacted a person called Kevin who promptly arranged for a maintenance person to come and sort it. We wou...more
This was an extremely well-equipped and spacious property, situated near walking routes and within driving/cycling distance of many attractive locations - both historic and environmental. There was remarkable provision of games and reading matter, etc, all the kitchen equipment you could need (though the only conventional oven was an Aga-type taking hours to warm up - however there was a multifunction small microwave/grill/oven device that was simple to use. All bedrooms were comfortable, bath and shower facilities were sufficient to cope easily with our group of 6.
Lovely Cottage with good facilities. The location was fantastic. Great for our little dog as the garden was completely enclosed. My only slight negative was the cleanliness, on the surface it was clean, but when you looked deeper and it wasn't.
We took the family (6 adults, 2 children and a dog) for a long weekend. Blessed with sunshine the stay was just what we wanted, a central location for walks, swimming, visiting quaint (read 'busy') Cotswold villages, the beach (yes there is one, look it up). The house is plenty big enough for all to spread out with adequate facilities (bedrooms, toilets, etc). The kitchen is large with lots of space to cook and serve our group and more. The rear garden is on the small size but we were able to play frizz-bee and still have people on the garden sofas having drinks. The front 'Garden' is pebbl...more
We had a great stay at North End House. Lovely property and location. Well equipped and lots of hot water. Only downside were the mice that nibbled into a box of chocolates and destroyed a seeded loaf overnight. So make sure your food is contained. I’m sure this will be addressed if owners are unaware.
Lovely relaxing home from home stay. Return to this beautiful home every year , always a great place to just chill
We spent a lovely family weekend at Lulham, celebrating a 70th birthday. The house is excellent for a large family gathering. The bedrooms are comfortable, but the weather was warm so fans would have helped. The kitchen/dinning room is very well equipped with everything you need for preparing a family meal. We cooked a full Sunday roast for 12 people and ate it at the big table in the garden. A parasol or two would have helped but that's a very minor issue. The garden is completely enclosed and safe for children. Altogether we loved the weekend and the house and it's location just an ea...more
We wanted accommodation with parking located centrally in Stow On The Wold, However the minute we opened the door into Gilsebertus House we knew we had found found somethingVery special indeed. The house was very spacious throughout and alot of thought and effort Had went into the design of the Interior, Stunning kitchen and dinning area followed By another reception with beautiful old antique panelling along one wall, Bright, and airy with with modern furnishings, Two beautiful bedrooms both En Suite with a spare bath room for guests, Everything spotless with extra towels. This was by far the best holiday rental we have stayed in. The barn was immaculate and so well equipped, they really had thought of everything. Everything was top notch, no expense spared and all the little details didn't go unnoticed. Would love to return in the summer to make used of the outside space. The process was smooth and easy and would highly recommend.
We stayed here for 5 days and it was lovely, a gorgeous place and a gorgeous room! We will suggest this place to others.
It was the second time we had stayed at Glebe Cottage. It's a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful village with a great pub and community shop/cafe. The cottage is charming with lots of period character, very cosy and comfortable with 2 wood burners if needed. All the rooms were beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. Bledington is a great location for exploring the Cotswolds and we would highly recommend the Cottage as a very comfortable base and place to stay.
Manor cottage is situated about a mile or so outside the village. It’s in a rural area, the setting is beautiful. Perfect for 4 people or less. The large lounge window gives a wonderful view of the countryside (and sheep). Nicely decorated, huge garden, good sized kitchen and dining room. We had a lovely stay.
We had a great stay at The New Bakehouse, when we arrived there was a lovely welcome basket with nice treats. The property was as per the images and the bedrooms are all a good size with access to their own bathrooms, perfect when sharing with family. The hosts were very helpful, responsive and friendly. The short walk to the pub was perfect and we had a lovely meal there but as it is small, we would recommend booking. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and I would happily recommend this property.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Rectory Barn which we thought was a characterful and charming property. The location close to Stow and Moreton suited us very well and also meant popping out for shopping etc was easy. Great to have a pub within walking distance for a glass of wine and a pint. Lovely sociable kitchen/diner for easy suppers. Lounge was a great size, although for us we found the lounge furniture a little uncomfortable. The 2 main bedrooms are lovely, and the 3rd could be, if the 2 very small single beds were replaced. I can see on previous reviews that we are not the only...more
We were a multi-generational group of women who was looking for a peaceful weekend away, and this property exceeded all our expectations! The welcome hamper was incredibly generous, and the house was so well equipped that we didn't need to worry about a thing. The thoughtful touches, including the lovely homewear provided, made it feel comfortable and luxurious from the moment we arrived. The layout was perfect for our group. The main rooms were spacious enough for us all to spend time together socially, while the additional smaller rooms gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy some quiet ti...more
Beautiful place to stay . Very clean it had everything we needed. Beautifully decorated and well taken care of. Loved our stay .
Ideal location in a quiet village A cosy little cottage with low ceilings Cosy living space which was tastefully decorated It would have been better for have another arm chair so 3 adults could sit in comfort Leather cushioning on the bench would provide more comfort when sitting down for a meal. This would be easy to clean too if there were young children in the cottage
We did enjoy our stay in Lilac Cottage. Nice beds, nice to have an own parking space, nice furniture etc. The garden was a little bit disappointing because there was no grass at all. In the kitchen there was only missing a wok or big pan. When we send a message to Stay Cotswolds that we unfortunately had to leave before schedule there was no reaction at all, and we had the same experience in the shop of Stay Cotswolds in Stow. So that is really a point to improve.
The house is fabulous, just what we were looking for, a house that could accommodate 6 adults and 3 children in comfort with private facilities to each bedroom. A lot of thought has gone into the house and it works! The living spaces and bedrooms are well appointed and comfortable, the kitchen can accommodate the space and cooking facilities needed for this number of persons. The outside space is equally well thought out with comfortable seating and a bbq HOWEVER the adjoins property is undergoing major reconstruction work and the noise of the construction activities made being outside unco...more
We had a lovely stay at Pickwick. Clean, comfortable and great location with ample parking. Thank you!
A really lovely cottage with a well-maintained garden and a perfect location. A few points to note: the double bed in the upstairs bedroom is very small for two people, and the bathroom sometimes had very little hot water. Also, the kitchen extractor fan was broken.
We had a lovely family weekend at Hill View. The property suited us fine and with 9 adults, a 3 yr old and a dog there was plenty of space. The Wendy house was a big attraction for the smallest member of our party. Our only recommendation would be more comfortable outdoor sitting. The current wooden ones where very uncomfortable and one was broken.
This is our 3rd stay in this property. Although more modern than the quintessential Cotswolds cottage it offers very comfortable accommodation in a cosy cottage. The sitting room is a reasonable size and has plenty of comfy chairs and settee, even a fur bean bag which my 2 dogs love. The property is light and airy and has everything needed apart from a dishwasher,as we don't cook a lot on holiday so we didn't find this a problem. Upstairs are three comfortable bedrooms and a pleasant bathroom. We love the situation of this cottage, close to many pretty villages and with beautiful walks dire...more
Great weekend bolthole. Lovely surroundings, well kept and easy to get to some great places to walk and eat. Double Red Duke is highly recommended. The hot-tub is great, but takes a good few hours to heat up. Only reason cleanliness doesnt get 5 stars is it smelt of damp dog throughout and around the kitchen.
Our second booking via Stay Cotswold, this time for a weekend getaway with Friends travelling from different parts of the UK. The property was excellent and there was more than enough space for our group of 6, and everything you could want was provided. Location is fantastic for all the various Cotswold attractions and would recommend Daylesford Organic for brunch and a mooch around the lovely country living outlet, and a trip to the Farmers Dog for Sunday lunch if you can book. Also great for visiting Stow, Moreton and Bourton. Bonus was the 30 second walk to the Golden Ball pub across the...more
Perfectly located only a 5-minute drive from Bourton on the Water, the house is spacious and well-equipped. Lovely garden, perfect for my dog to mooch around. It's easy to find a place a space to park just a few metres away. I'd definitely stay there again (however, the 40 quid fee for taking a dog is not justifiable, as there isn't anything for the dog, not even old towels or a bowl, so you have to bring everything - btw, the staircase is super steep and dangerous for the dog, so I had to sleep in the bedroom downstairs to not leave him lone in the ground floor during the night in a house he ...more
My wife and I had a lovely stay in the cottage, clean and spacious for the two of us. We were renovating our house nearby and needed a place to stay and this worked perfectly. Easy access to Bourton-on-the-water for the evenings.
We enjoyed a relaxed Spring break at Primrose Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean, cosy and welcoming. Conveniently situated on Rodborough Common , carpeted in Spring flowers, we were able to walk from the door in all directions to explore the area.
We stayed here over the hot bank holiday weekend and had a great time (thank you for the fan) The cottage is in a beautiful part of Stow-on-the-Wold and honestly has everything you need and more. The owner was really accommodating and got in touch to make sure everything was okay when we arrived, which was a nice touch. The cottage was spotless throughout and the photos don’t really do it justice it’s actually a lot more modern than some of the pictures make it look. The outside patio area was perfect for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening sun. Another bonus was the pub a...more
Cosy cottage, great location. Ideal for exploring Bourton and Stow. Very clean. Welcome basket was fantastic and really appreciated. We had a party of 7 and there was plenty of space for us all. We had a great weekend. Would definitely stop again. Thank you
Enormous period property, it took a while to absorb how big it really is. Bedrooms very well set up, and everybody said the beds were very comfy. Hot water plentiful. All members of our party had a large room with a king-size bed. It was a real treat for the single members of our party to have their own room and not to be expected to sleep in a single bed, which I always think is a little unfair. Bathrooms and toilets were plentiful so there was never a problem with accessing facilities. The kitchen was lovely and there was plenty of plates, mugs, cutlery etc., I particularly liked the ...more
The Ross House accommodation was of a very high standard, providing all modern facilities. The garden together with garden furniture and BBQ was very nice, spacious and sunny. We particularly enjoyed the large large bifold patio doors joining the living room to the garden. The location of the house is ideal, being only a 10m minute walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, but tucked away just far enough to be away from any noise from the village. The location of the house was very quiet and peaceful. All in all, a very nice relaxing vacation near to a beautiful village.
We had a lovely stay at Corner Barn and it is a beautiful property. However, given the premium price point, we did feel there were a few areas that could be improved to enhance the overall experience. Due to the location of the barn on the owner’s property, there is a sense of being overlooked at times. The living area features large glass windows and sliding doors, which are lovely for light, but can leave you feeling quite exposed. While the front windows have muslin drapes for privacy, we felt similar lightweight coverings in the lounge area would be beneficial. At present, the choice is b...more
Excellent property with everything one could want including a well stocked kitchen, swimming pool, lots of outdoor space, hot tub, zip wire, and so much more! A variety of living spaces that suited our needs really well, and dog friendly! Will certainly return in the future. Thank you Keepers Lodge and Stay Cotswold!
Very nice property, very clean & welcoming. Lovely walks nearby & handy for Cheltenham. Pub round the corner was good too.
Perry Cottage is in a beautiful location with everything you could wish for this was our 6th time at the cottage & it will always be a place that we love however we felt this time some of the basics were not as they used to be such as toilet roll & towels missing in the small bathroom & there was a lot of ants in the main bathroom on a daily basis. The cottage could do with a little TLC to bring it back to what it used to be. Still an amazing cottage & great location for exploring the Cotswolds.
I cannot recommend this property enough . Stayed last year and had a great stay . Beautiful property in a great location
Everything was perfect. Just up the hill from many shops and restaurants. Parking was the only challenge but easy enough once we figured out the best places. Burford is a perfect size for a long weekend stay with a number or restaurants in town and many others within a short drive. The house still maintains its charm with having modern amenities. If you are tall just watch your head through the doorways.
Kingsley House made our first visit to the Cotswolds everything we imagined and more. The house itself was warm, inviting, tastefully decorated, comfortable and most importantly, very clean. There was not anything that we needed to have brought as the house supplied everything, down to cleaning items. It was situated in a very quiet area, where everyone we met were friendly and non-intrusive. The information sent to us by Stay Cotswolds was extremely helpful, informative in every way and very straightforward. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kingsley, cannot rate it highly enough, and ca...more
We stayed here for our 1st Anniversary celebrations. The cottage was perfect. Very clean, comfy bed, and the cottage was well equipped with everything you would. And The hot tub was the highlight for us! Also great location, literally a 5 min walk into Stow on the Wold. Would absolutely recommend & will definitely stay again.
The Cottage fully met all our expectations and beyond for a unique family get together in one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds far from the maddening crowds with 2 coffee houses & 2 pubs around the corner & some excellent walks outside the front door..The house was very comfortable with beautiful decor. Our grandchildren aged from 5 to 10 found plenty to occupy them both inside @ out. I
My daughter and I arrived to find a delightful cottage within a complex of Barnsley and we immediately felt at home. There was a pint of milk in the fridge and some M&S cookies which was a nice touch. The cottage was clean and very comfortable and the perfect location for visiting Blenheim Palace, the Cotswolds Wildlife Park and designer shopping villages. The only criticism, which applies to most of these breaks, is the late check-in time of 5pm and the early check-out time of 10am. It would be lovely to check-in around 3pm and 11am for departure as it was hard to vacate that early, having ...more
spacious for 4 guests with fully furnished interiors. 20 minutes drive to Cotsworld animal farm. Host is accommodating
The Old Workshop is in the town, close to eateries and lovely independent shops. It is ideal for 2 people. and has everything you need ; whatever the weather for a pleasant stay. My only criticism is the grubby uncomfortable sofa.
Benson Cottage is ideally placed for touring Cotswold and good off street parking. It was clean and provided everything we needed for four adults. Only two things would mention one as seen in previous reviews. The sofas in the TV lounge were not comfortable to sit on for any length of time and ideally need replacing. Second only a small thing but the kitchen knives need sharpening.
A very cosy cottage, with a well presented garden (garden furniture would have been nice as we hit 20 degrees in March and it would have been good not to have to take out kitchen chairs to sit on). The kitchen was well equipped and really lovely (inside the oven could do with a bit of a clean, but didn’t deter from its use). My only criticism would be that it’s in a bit of a need of a refresh. The paintwork, walls are looking a little tired. But again doesn’t detract from it being a cosy house. The beds are super comfy the log burner was excellent. The cosy dining area was perfect for bre...more
Very nice house in a very quiet place. The only minus is cleanless, should be improved, specially in the kitchen area. Also thermal insulation of the bedroom over the breakfast area should be checked.
Lovely location and we had a restful getaway, however a couple of things let it down. We booked the cottage with the plan to use the kitchen/living room, only to find out that the fire wasn’t working. It seemed like this had been waiting for repairs for a while, and therefore it would have been nice to have been told prior to arrival. The fire was the main purpose for our booking so was very let down, and it did mean the basement room felt very cold when being used. Whilst the house felt clean, the number of cobwebs definetly took the shine of it. I understand the countryside and cottages ...more
We loved our stay at Archway house. Was a great place for two friends to have their own space but also stay together. Great value for the space as well. Blockley is a great starting point for all things north Cotswolds. The house was as described in the listing with expected stairs and comfortable beds.
Cottage in the heart of Bourton on the Water. Great restaurants and bakery nearby. Good showers. Kitchen well equipped. Loved the log burner.
The Manor House was amazing. Martin who looks after the property. Is brilliant. We needed a fan because it was so hot . The only thing I would say it needs sun loungers and big umbrella. Because we had such hot weather. Honestly if you’re thinking of booking . You will not be disappointed. It is amazing definitely 5 stars
Lovely cottage in idyllic location. Walks from the door! Walk across the road down the footpath by the church, flowers everywhere, and find the amazing community shop for a coffee or that thing you forgot to bring - friendly volunteers. Cottage very comfy but as a 6ft2in person have to mind your head on the ancient beams. Lovely back garden with 2 seating areas
We had a very nice stay at the lovely Forge in Upper Oddington. The historic house is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Thanks for the lovely flowers on the table, the biscuits, coffee and milk upon our arrival. There were books and maps for the Cotswolds area to plan our walks. Unfortunately we only could enjoy the small garden once because of the weather. The garden is nice but perhaps a little bit cramped because of the bushes on both sides. We loved the fire place and the bath tube! So nice after a day out walking. The personal support was excellent. Thanks so much. We had a wonderfu...more
If you are looking for a well suited cottage, this is your perfect spot! In a beautiful village, right across the pub, this cottage is the perfect place to explore the beautiful region.
Whilst YTF is undoubtedly a money sink and accordingly expensive to rent we felt it should have been a bit smarter. Paintwork scruffy in several external areas, rather dirty rear 'patio' floor, large table uneven (patched up) and felt there more could have been strimmed even allowing for not-quite faded daffodil and bluebell foliage. Rather cheap cutlery not a plus point and pieces are falling apart. The dishwasher somewhat awkward and not big enough. I felt the hot water tank was boiling some of the time. A great property, great weather, great fun so seen through a rosy tint. We greatl...more
Together with another couple, we had a lovely stay at Ringers Cottage. It is a great location for taking all kinds of day trips in the Cotswolds. Oxford and Bath are also easy to visit. The cottage is fully equipped with all modern conveniences, and there is a pub across the street where you can enjoy a good meal.
We enjoyed a lovely few days in Abbots Cottage, it was a fantastic base to explore the Cotswolds. The cottage was in a great location and had everything we needed.
Good location close to the main villages in Cotswold. Hot into the Kitchen a little bit cold in the rest of the house. I strongly reccomend this Cottage
A beautiful cottage with plenty of room for the 4 of us Location was perfect Central to all of the pretty villages we wanted to visit We were so lucky to have good weather and having the benefit of the garden was an added bonus as we were able to BBQ Great shop 2 minutes walk and local pub 15 minutes walk We would definitely recommend the cottage to friends who were looking to explore this part of the country

Casa cómoda, muy bien decorada y con una cocina maravillosa . Muy bien situada en el centro de los Cotswold para hacer excursiones.
We absolutely loved staying here. It's such a lovely little apartment, beautifully decorated, very well equipped and wonderfully clean. It's right in the centre of Cirencester but not at all noisy. It was a perfect little home from which to explore this beautiful town and the surroundings. We very much appreciated the 'welcome' voucher for Knead, just downstairs Would definitely stay again if in the area and would definitely recommend. Tall people need to watch out for the beams but my 6ft 2 husband managed to dodge them ok. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Cosy and very comfortable cottage. Ideal location. I would say in my opinion that sitting room seating may be tight for 4 adults , was only two of us so no problem. Very cosy log burner. No driveway, it’s parking on the street , we never had a problem, even got parked right outside one day. Would recommend. Great location for visiting The Cotswolds, would recommend this cottage.
Probably the best self catering cottage we have ever stayed in. The only problem was there was no shower mat in the shower and the base of the shower was very slippery.
This is a lovely cottage in a great little town with lots of amenities and instant access to the beautiful Cotswolds. The BIG caveat is that during nesting season the swallows are almost in the attic bedroom with you, causing significant sleep disturbance. Prepare for this with great earplugs, and you’ll be fine. Sadly this is not mentioned in the marketing, but is well signposted in the cottage. For this reason, the comfort for our stay was very poor.
This place was a bit deflating. I’d recently spent some time in several other cottages of a much higher standard in the same price range. The furnishings and décor are tired and there was a musky smell throughout the property. It’s not particularly clean. The skirting boards were thick with dust in lots of places. There’s mould in the wet room, which remains wet and damp for most of the day after a shower in the morning. The cutlery was grubby. There are several other rental places on the same site and the goldfish bowl design of the building means you can see how long the cleaners sp...more
We enjoyed our stay at Blenheim Cottage overall, and the property has a great deal of potential. As someone who works as a consumer consultant for a local holiday let, I wanted to share a few observations that could help enhance the experience for future guests. Areas for improvement Welcome pack: This was the first holiday property I have stayed in that did not provide a welcome pack. Previous reviews suggest these may have been offered inconsistently. Even a simple selection of essentials such as milk, butter, bread and jam would be a thoughtful touch, particularly if it featured local...more

Although assumed listed building this property would benefit from triple glazing and if able, a barrier behind unused front door to cushion noise Iinto bedroom. Handy rear yard welcomed with seating and BBQ. No instructions on using induction hob. However, host manager speedily arranged delivery of microwave. As all pubs & restaurants were closed for our entire 5 days due to horse fair, the need to cook spoilt our 5 days away. We should have stayed at another location and travelled in to Stow. The House was very individual, historic and interesting. We enjoyed our stay in what was the coldest week of the year. Needed to use both fireplaces to keep warm. Our only disappointment was the pool, which despite intervention from the owner only eventually reached 24C and was advertised as being kept at 26C. For reference public pools are normally 27C. Think it would be fine in the summer but not a comfortable temperature for swimming.
A stunningly restored property with everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable stay. The Mill Inn was disappointing.
Gorgeous cottage, lovely location close to so many beautiful areas of the Cotswolds. Very well stocked, kitchen extension is fantastic and the bi folds opening to the lovely garden would have been great if the weather had been kinder. The cottage, however, deserves some better quality furnishings. As mentioned before, the mattresses need changing, the topper sags in the middle. Pillowcases did not fit the pillows, one quilt cover was missing several poppers so the quilt fell out, mattress covers stained badly, cushions on sofa thin and flimsy, front room carpet stained. None of this detracte...more
5/5 highly recommend We were a group of 4 staying here for a friends wedding. We are so glad we did. All of us were able to fit very comfortably in the two bedrooms, two bath cottage. There was an ample amount of living space to relax and spread out. On the minor details - no A/C but that’s not an issue at night if you open the windows. Wake up to the birds, it’s good for you. - good size kitchen to make meals - there is a clothes iron but we couldn’t get it to work On the manor details: The location is unreal, located in Cornwell Manor. Easy access to Chipping Norton and ...more
A well equipped comfortable large house in beautiful countryside. Adults and children well catered for. As the weather was perfect, we enjoyed spending time in the garden.
The little cottage was beautifully clean with a comfy bed and quality furnishings. The kitchen is tiny but is well equipped and has all you need. We had amazing weather and really enjoyed sitting outside on the little patio enjoying the stunning views of the gardens to the main house and surrounding fields. There are also lovely walks you can do around the village. The only issue was the Internet was very slow and so we couldn't use the smart TV other than for normal channels. You also definitely need to use 'what 3 words' to find it as there is no name on the drive in or the cottage itself...more
First vist to property but seasoned visitor to the cotswolds. We were a little apprehensive having seen other reviews, however the property was spotless, welcome pack in fridge and great location. Very quite village and central for visting other areas. Very happy and will book again.
The Snug is beautifully presented and in a great location. Several pubs only a few minutes walk away that serve lovely food. The hot tub was a welcome addition after walking all day. The only slight downside is that the on street parking was quite often full up which meant having to park in one of the town carparks. Not ideal when you have bags to carry or its raining.
Very easy to book Stay Cotswold are easy to contact on the phone with questions before the stay The cottage was in a brilliant, quiet location with plenty to see nearby The cottage was largely clean and with everything we needed Only slight issue was no microwave in the kitchen, but brilliant apart from that!
What can I say, we had a fabulous time! Good size rooms, enclosed secluded little veranda, comfortable bed, powerful shower, use of fully enclosed owners field for dogs and lovely friendly owners on site but not intrusive. Had a fabulous stay over the heatwave May bank holiday. Having a dog, it was amazing to be able to find shade at some point on the veranda all day. The converted hay loft was like a little tardis, very spacious and light. There is everything you could need for a comfortable enjoyable stay. Thank you to Cliff and Lucy for the use of their large enclosed field to exe...more
We had a wonderful stay at Greenview Cottage, nestled in such a beautiful little village. We especially enjoyed the public footpath through the fields just around the corner. The cottage is lovely, cosy, and well equipped, although it did take us some time to find things in the kitchen, as items seemed to be stored rather randomly. As mentioned in another review, we also had some trouble figuring out where to put our rubbish. One other small thing worth mentioning is, that the bathroom could feel a little cold in the mornings. We completely understand that the heating was only on for certain...more
Check-in and check-out was very easy and without hustle-the lock box is just as and where described. The apartment itself is wonderful, anything one (or 4) could need and dream for in a week! All the mod cons and the lovely little garden! Everything is as shown in the pictures, very clean and well equipped. Great location to explore the village and the village is a great spot to explore the Cotswold! Parking at Market square between 6.00 pm- (09) 11.00 am is OK, but then you have to move your car for no less than 2 hours- and then stay 2 hours at the most, then leave again. A bit strange, ...more
We absolutely loved our stay at The Pool House - what more could you ask for than a hot tub and pool in perfect privacy in the sunshine! The house was spacious and well furnished with a well sized kitchen, lounge and main bedroom. The only downside was the rather small double bed.
The cottage was in a perfect location to explore Chipping Norton and beyond. It had lots of amenities that made all the difference, like games, a Bluetooth speaker, a Smart TV (although we couldn't work out how to watch free-view, so we just used the smart apps in the end), and the dishwasher was a great bonus. The garden area was lovely, could do with a little tidy up, but was a good spot to chill in the sun. The beds were very, very comfy, and we slept wonderfully. It was a very cosy stay, and we would return! Thanks :)
Ideal place to stay with a dog. enclosed garden. away from the hustle and bustle of bourton on water. feather pillows would of been good. Well equipped.
This was our second visit to this house which is so spacious, comfortable, warm and clean. Andy is extremely helpful and explains how everything works and is available to sort any minor issues if needed. We had a great time and were lucky to have beautiful weather. We all loved learning to play croquet on the lawn. Highly recommend.
Pear tree cottage was adorable!! Loved the cosy living room! It was extremely clean and had all the basic amenities that we needed during our stay
We stayed at Ford Bank Cottage in early August and absolutely loved it. A beautiful place to stay – stylishly decorated and very well equipped. It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to the local pub, which we also highly recommend – 5-star food and excellent service. Would definitely return
We stayed sometime back , quite a few times before Stay Cotswold took over. Flower Barn is very comfortable and well fitted out. Our only criticism would be that a 5 pm entry is very late compared with most of 4 pm.
The property needed a cleaning - the range hood top had a film of grease, dust and dust bunnies on floors. Location was great! Upgrading number and quality of towels would add a lot.
The stable was in the most perfect location to explore the local sites and other villages! It is a picturesque place, with everything you need. We were able to utilise the hot tub for some lovely relaxation, the outside space for a nice dog walk and the main town was just a 5minute drive away. The Stables was lovely and clean and plenty of room for the 3 of us and the dog. It had all you needed in the kitchen space and all the utensils you would need. Also, the shower was glorious!!! I could not fault our stay and would happily come again
Great location and generally clean, but some things to deal with. Mugs on tree were heavily stained Baking trays were unusable No freezer unit in fridge, caused real problems with keeping cool bag ice blocks for our dog food The stair rail was very dirty and obviously had not been cleaned for some time, we cleaned it before we could use it Minor but important issues for us
Thanks for a great stay, the property is outstanding and was everything we were looking for to accommodate our holiday!
My sister and I spent 5 nights at this lovely cottage in late April. We picked the best week to visit - sunny each day. The cottage has 2 bedrooms which is perfect for a couple of friends or family of 3 or 4. We each had our own bedroom, which provided ample storage. The bathroom was spacious and the rain shower amazing! Kitchen had everything we needed, although we barely used it as we were out every day from morning to night. It had a smaller fridge than regular size, but adequate for short stays. There is a garden at the back of the property which we didn't use, but would be ideal for longe...more
We had a great stay in the Old Stables at Broadwell Manor. On-site parking, good facilities inside the Old Stables, well equipped and well heated. We loved it.
Our holiday accommodation was excellent. Spacious and very clean. Garden pretty but access under gateway would be tricky with large vehicle. Key safe wouldn't open on arriving fortunately the owner lived next door. It was rather concerning. Villlage delightful as was Red Lion pub where we ate. Community shop and cafe was delightful too.
Firstly the good bits - great location and comfortable bed in main bedroom. The property has a nice theme in terms of decoration. However, the decor is tired and the furnishings appear to be cast offs - which we do understand to some extent as this is a rental property. On the first night, we had brought a birthday meal with us which was almost scuppered by the fact that the hob igniter did not work. Managed to get matches from shop across the road with 2 minutes to spare before they closed. The ice maker wasn't working either. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery and cutlery - although ...more
We had a fantastic stay at Lavender Cottage during the May half-term holiday. The cottage itself is quite small, but it worked perfectly for us as a family of four plus our dog. We loved its quirky character, especially the uneven floors upstairs, which added to its charm. The beds were very comfortable, and the cottage was spotless when we arrived. What really makes this cottage stand out is its location in Bourton-on-the-Water. It is right in the heart of the village, with all the main attractions within a 10-minute walk and the river just 25 metres from the front door. When we arri...more
A beautifully decorated cottage with welcome tea, coffee, biscuits , milk & dog treats. Thoughtfully provided dog towels too. We wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed at stonecrop for a weekend away, we got the train there and the location was perfect. Inside the cottage is beautiful, modern and clean but still with a Cotswold cottage feeling. There’s plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area and lots of walking routes which take you to other villages. Highly recommend, we can’t wait to come back!
This was the ideal property for a heatwave! With its cool tiled floors and airy white interior, walk in wet room shower, patio doors and outdoor bath, we felt as if we could have been holidaying in the Mediterranean!! The property was well laid out, comfortable and well equipped.
We are a group of nine ex-university friends who meet every year in different locations around the UK and Europe and have done so for the last 35 years. This year, we stayed in the Cotswolds in the picturesque village of Barnsley. Barnsley cottage was very well suited to our group, as many of the beds could be made into twins, and there was plenty of space for all of us in the kitchen and lounge. There were three bathrooms with showers, two en-suite and one main bathroom, which also had a bath. There was also a downstairs cloakroom. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything, pots...more
We had a wonderful stay at Upper Barn. It was perfect for our family of five. The location is excellent, with lovely pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, and a supermarket all close by. The hot tub was a real highlight and a big hit with everyone. Everything was thoughtfully prepared—the bedding and towels were provided in good quantity, and all essentials (such as toilet paper and dishwasher tablets) were well stocked and clearly organized. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay!
Beautiful property and location, however when we came to shower all hot water had been turned off and water was freezing. Couldn’t even wait for it to heat up as we had an appointment. At least leave it on when you know a client is coming in, or leave it on timer. Welcome pack very poor, coffee,( no milk) crisps, fudge and biscuits - what would have been more welcoming would be coffee, milk, fresh bread, butter and jam. The house looked clean, but I found cotton wool pads under bed from a previous visitor. Instructions for television would be nice.
Excellent location, easy walk into the town. Spacious and well equipped. We found Settee uncomfortable but stay value for money. Overall an enjoyable holiday.
Thankyou to the hosts of this lovely wee cottage perfect for just us two taking a relaxing break in charming quiet Ebrington village which has interesting routes for walks and is within easy day-trip car journeys to the busier tourist destinations that we explored.
The cottage is spacious but misses comfort and could do with a bit of tlc. Quite sober and basic interior. Being in the garden feels a bit like trespassing because it is the owner’s garden. There’s no fenced garden to let a dog run free on its own.
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage and the peaceful garden was a treat - fantastic view! Our grandchild was fascinated by the sheep.
Lovely location and decorated cottage. Had everything we needed. Some areas of the house could do with some TLC, especially kitchen equipment and the bathroom (broken toilet seat). Useful to have parking but often found a car or a van parked opposite, despite no parking signs, which made getting out awkward.
We had a brilliant few days in this lovely cottage & beautiful garden in wonderful Winchcombe. The Corner Cupboard reopened the day of our arrival-very friendly & reasonably priced pub, others to try are the White Hart (very good roast) & the Lion. The Cheltenham bus stopped just outside the door, the railway to Broadway was a delight & the Gifford circus came to town! The weather was great which meant we could enjoy the garden after we'd been cycling.People very friendly & a good selection of shops, including a butchers & bakery.Just be careful of the low beams in the cottage!
We loved our stay at Landgate House and think the photos don't do it justice and it's nicer in real life. We had a gorgeous sunny weekend and the views from the dining room / breakfast room are to die for! This was the absolute perfect house for a cross generation family gather with grand parents having a room on the ground floor with no stairs to navigate, the teens upstairs in the loft space and the rest of the family downstairs. We have a fabulous time and contrary to some reviews which made us hesitate when booking, the house was spotless! The only little bit of feedback is maybe about the...more
We stayed for a week just before the heatwave and actually it was quite cold and wet, but this place, despite having very high ceilings was actually very cosy and warm. There are things to point out, which the owners already have, in that the bedrooms are snug and certainly the mezzanine level on the far side of the bed is problematic due to the roof, but we felt that both bedrooms felt airy enough. The downstairs bedroom does have a window to the side of the front door and the upstairs bedroom has a skylight, and because of the glass half-wall to the kitchen area feels very light and airy....more
We had a fab time at Elm Barn. It was well kitted out and perfect for our family week away. The grounds were lovely. Only downside is that it said it was walking distance to the local pub but this would have been on busy main roads so not ideal with small children.
Wonderful relaxing stay, great location and in easy walking distance into Burton on the water. Lovely warm, spacious home to unwind in after a days sightseeing. Our teens particularly liked the foosball table!
We had another lovely stay at this cottage — it’s beautiful, cosy, and spotlessly clean. The Prosecco and biscuits were such a thoughtful touch and made us feel very welcome. This was our second time staying here and we would definitely return again. The location is perfect for scenic walks around the Cotswolds and day trips to Bicester village. The hot tub was clean, warm, and perfect for relaxing. The only small point worth mentioning is that the mattresses are quite firm, which may not suit everyone. Other than that, everything was perfect.
I am writing to express our disappointment with the condition and suitability of the property Guddlebrook, which we checked into this bank holiday weekend. Upon arrival, we found several cleanliness issues, including food debris on the floors, dirt and residue inside the fridge, and unclean kitchen items. Also no hand soap in the bathroom, minimal washing up liquid, one dishwasher tablet and the brush to clean dishes also had food on it plus wine glasses also not clean. This was unexpected for a StayCotswolds property and has left us unable to settle in comfortably. After raising these con...more
A great, spacious, spotless apartment that was very comfortable and had everything we needed in order to cater for ourselves. The parking was convenient and The Country Kiwi cafe was excellent - far more than just a cafe! We walked to Burford and back, which was really enjoyable and were lucky to stumble upon a great pub - The Fox Inn. There were only 2 issues for us - the apartment was too warm for us ( purely personal preference) and we didn’t realise we were as far away from Burford as we were. Again, we should have been more thorough with our research. We had a wonderful trip and will ret...more
A wonderful house in a great location in the Cotswolds. Very well appointed throughout with all the facilities you need for a family stay. On,y downside were a couple of the mattresses which were too soft, but a house I would recommend
The building and location is absolutely stunning, there are lots of amenities in the apartment, and the layout is great. Unfortunately, after numerous communications, I have to report some disappointments with the property. I have sent a thorough report to customer service services and chase them and still have heard nothing. There was no Wi-Fi in the daytime in the apartment, and upon reading previous feedback this is something that has been an issue for awhile and it’s still not resolved… which is the most disappointing thing. There is no TV. Which when you have a family makes things diff...more
It was my wife's 60th birthday so we went away with our 2 daughters and their husbands and 3 grandchildren. We had a lovely time and the grandkids (4 3 & 2 year old ) had a ball, loving the open spaces. We did, initially have trouble locating the property. Once on Cemetary lane it is quite difficult to find, the sign was old and not very visible. (I suggest a new, bigger one) Also in the bedroom with 2 single beds, there were several Ladybirds, Overall, a lovely property and a good time had by all.
Nice apartment everything you need in kitchen.shower a let down due to water heat not regulating.good location for restaurants shops ,and local tesco
We had the most amazing time The dog and grandson absolutely loved the garden and the stunning area made it an amazing experience. We would definitely recommend it and will be coming back and will book the same cottage again .
Great location, house needs some TLC. Kitchen could do with updating. No proper grill pan. Ovenware dirty and covered with fat. But all said and done a lovely house, plenty of room and vey comfortable. Would stay again for sure. Feel that a 17.00 check in is too late as it cuts into evening especially if you are just doing a weekend. Places we have stayed in before work to 15.00!
This is the second time we’ve stayed in Smuggsbarn Cottage. The property is lovely and roomy for 7 adults and a toddler. Comfy sofas and beds. Kitchen is well stocked. Toddler friendly with stairgates apart from one upstairs. Not sure why it’s not fitted here. Nice garden. We sadly cannot return as my son in law is allergic to animals and had an asthma attack while there due to dogs being there previously. He had to leave the property.
Our stay at Winterberry cottage was delightful. The house was well appointed for preparing meals and gathering in the living room. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed watching the rain fall on the lawn. Nice beds and linens too.
We found the cottage very charming and in a nice location near the church as the church bells rang daily and it was very nice as we live in the city and it’s something you don’t hear , The cottage had a lovely homely feel to it with everything we needed and more , the beds were comfortable and the lounge was comfortable and welcoming, the courtyard garden was enchanting with the seclusion from neighbours and the road and the pretty plants made a nice place to enjoy an evening drink , went to the Manor House hotel and Bellini restaurant during our stay which were lovely eating establishments a...more
Only thing that l would recommend is a shower mat, to put down once you get out of the shower. Everything else was great, the village also was far busier than we had imagined. That spoilt it in away.
So disappointed with our stay. Decor to a poor standard everywhere needs a re-plaster. Heavy mould around upstairs windows. Grass hadn’t been cut in months. Staycotswolds were out of office for our entire stay. No physical welcome pack. Needed to scan qr code to find out wifi code. Not worth £252 a night. Needs fans as upstairs was so hot at night. Positives great location and size of property.
Lounge furniture need’s upgrading - chaise is broken and no adult could sit on it. Fridge still leaking. Rug in dining room smelling of dog wee - just get rid of it. Knives need replacing - chunk taken out of one of the blades which is very unhygienic. Shower temp knob very hard to turn. Small hose by outside tap would be useful with dogs so we could wash off any mud prior to going in house. Garden amazing. With just a few minor adjustments Norman Chapel would be faultless. Fridge had been brought to your attention last Oct in guest review book but not rectified.
Very nice and relaxing stay at Holly Tree Cottage in the Cotswolds. We booked the cottage for my mother's 80th Birthday. The cottage is very spacious and accommodated 6 adults very comfortably. We socialised in the conservatory, where it was light and airy. It is a very peaceful place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. The downside: The double bedroom is very small and could feel a little claustrophobic to some, and very limited space to move around. The other 2 rooms were adequate. Suggestions; The water temperature could do with turning down a little, as I almost scalded myself ...more
A return visit to peaceful, detached cottage and good location. Sorry to see being advertised for sale. Garden could be tended and planted to enhance appeal and interior needs deep clean, otherwise satisfied with property. Easy on-road parking but need to carry up steps from road
We have loved the environment and the location and the lovely architecture and garden of the house for our family reunion! Our hosts were very friendly and gracious. There are so many walks, restaurants and opportunities for adults and kids visits in the area. Some observations that are intended to be helpful: Some updating in the house would be wonderful for long stayers who plan to cook as we did every night. The very old kitchen sink and above oven vent would be my first recommendations for replacement. The vent has no filter, so brown grease drips on the food. The above oven light ...more
We enjoyed our stay but a few things are needed to improve . Not enough cooking utensils , bread was left but no bread knife ! No bin bags that should be provided . Tiny fridge not really adequate . Cold in the living room and electric fire does not work . Sofa uncomfortable. Bathrooms smelt of drainage . Pillows too soft on beds , sheets (linen) very scratchy . Flies from dead plants
Royal Oak Cottage is in a great location a short walk from the centre. It is a very spacious and pleasant cottage with nice gardens. We would have rated the cottage excellent if minor maintenance issues had been dealt with and the provision of kitchen equipment was more practical. We enjoyed our stay and the shops and restaurants in the town.
Cottage was beautiful, very charming with a lot of character and super location just seconds from buzzy Stow! Highlights are the beautiful fire and cosy living room, powerful shower and a bath. The hosts were exceptionally facilitative allowing us early check in and late check out - massively appreciated as we were staying with our two young children. The only negatives are that the cottage is tired in places and the cleaning regime could be improved.
Unfortunately this property was not up to the standard of previous StayCotswold properties we have stayed at, and really needs some tlc. When arriving at the property, rubbish was overflowing in the outside bins, which wasn’t a great welcome. The driveway doesn’t have room for 4 vehicles as suggested. There were a lot of cobwebs, including a lot of spiders in some rooms, which were missed in the clean and this is surprising given the amount of time between check out at 10am and check in at 5pm. Other little things that go a long way - not all lightbulbs working in bedside lamps and handwas...more
The cottage location is excellent, within walking distance of a variety of restaurants & local shops including a well stocked supermarket. It's a short drive from many places of interest eg Hidcote Gardens, Stow-on-the-Wold. As keen walkers we appreciated the easy access to surrounding footpaths. The kitchen is well equipped & spacious. We very much enjoyed our stay & have several comments/observations which we hope will be helpful. In no specific order these are: 1. Master Bedroom : bedside light not working. Change of bulb made no difference so it's assumed it's faulty, ...more
At first glance, everything was perfect. I appreciated how easy it was to get from central London to The Gatehouse without a car - the train ride from Paddington to Stroud was around 1,5 hours and the drive from Stroud not even 10 minutes (and the taxi didn’t cost an arm and a leg). The Gatehouse itself is absolutely charming from the outside, and in a nice remote location, which is exactly what I was after. The interior is beautiful, especially the kitchen, which was also very well-supplied, but I had to take down the creepy painting from the bedroom wall to be able to sleep at night. It gen...more
The house is in a beautiful village, very friendly locals, close by for everything we wanted to visit. The Five Alls pub is excellent for food. We found the house underwhelming, not what we saw on the pictures. Someone had commented in April about the bin being broken and it still is. We had our dog with us and a broken bin lid is not great, not to mention the smells. The oven door is taped together and I had to clean the grill and oven before I could use it. The gate to bins is rusted so you can’t open it and have to take your rubbish out of the front door and down the lane. The house...more
Delightful little property in a secluded location. Ideal for those wanting a base to explore the area. Just be mindful that you have to mind your head in some areas.
Lovely cottage which is absolutely fine for 2 ( in 2nd bedroom bed is against wall on one side so a little limiting). We enjoyed our stay - well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge. Bed reasonable and most of the time hubby remembered to duck for the low door! Lovely outside and very secure for dogs ( walls or high fence). Has been changed a bit since photos but could see 2 good sitting areas that would be sun traps, had weather been better would have happily tried them out! A couple of minor issues but we left a note so hopefully they will be rectified ( not urgent enough to contact while th...more
When we (2 sisters & 94 year old mother) first walked in everything seemed ok. BUT there is so much unnecessary stuff eg. nick knacks, plastic plants, all collecting dust and full of cobwebs. Dusting does not seem to have been done above about four foot off the ground. The kitchen was thick with grease especially around the aga and on the shelf above. It felt very unclean. I took my own Vertuo pods but unfortunately even the machine would not produce any coffee, it needed a descale. The garden was lovely to sit in but in need of a lot of attention. On the plus side the beds were comfortable...more
Really lovely cottage in a great location only 15 minutes to Bourton, we had an issue with drainage, which was resolved within an hour, good garden and facilities . Only negative was the lack of shelves in the fridge
Both my friends and I had a wonderfully, relaxing long weekend away @ Primrose Cottage mid January . The cottage is very welcoming and comfortable, warm with the addition of a log burner should you wish to use it. A well stocked kitchen utensil wise and such comfortable beds! Totally enjoyed our stay and really do hope to return another time.
Willow Cottage was the perfect location for our group. Such a great property, we were very comfortable and would stay again
We had a wonderful few days here . Was a beautiful cottage that was clean ,spacious and in an excellent position close to the town centre ..Great parking for cars right outside front door in a private country estate . We had exceptionally hot weather and made good use of hot tub . The garden was lovely with plenty garden furniture ,bbq and lots of shade . I would suggest you take fans with you as bedrooms were very hot at night. The only thing I could fault was the very busy main road that runs along the bottom of cottage garden ,sitting outdoors wasn’t a peaceful experience.
Perfectly located for Stow, just a short walk to The Porch House. The cottage was generally clean, well equipped, and nicely decorated, with good‑quality linen and towels. The off‑road parking and the thoughtful touch of complimentary milk and biscuits were much appreciated. A few areas could benefit from some routine maintenance to bring the property up to its full potential. Some windows and bathroom fittings would benefit from a deeper clean, bugs in light fitting, an anti-slip bath mat is needed, and a few ceiling cobwebs (landing/living room) and dust build‑ups (bathroom extractor /be...more
This should be a beautiful property. It is in a charming location and full of potential. Unfortunately poor choices inside let it down. The furnishings appeared to be the bare minimum: most of the walls were depressingly bare and showed empty picture hooks. It had a strangely austere feeling for having so little in the way of comfort and warm touches. There were not enough bedside tables for the number of beds. The supplies were bleakly thrifty: the cheapest possible hand soap, a miserly pair of bin bags, and just three dishwasher tablets. The glassware was an odd mix of abandoned pai...more
The only redeeming thing about this house is the location. It is damp and very small. The back door doesn’t close. We were 4 people and there was only enough hot water for one person to shower. We were contacted before our stay by the owner who wanted us to pay £20 towards her petrol to go and clean the property. When I said no she was quite rude. When we had left , she told the letting agents we had stolen two pillows(which we hadn’t), and guess how much she wanted for the missing pillows, yes, £20. Eventually I got my £20 back but after many phone calls and emails.
