We had such a fantastic stay over Easter weekend with our 3 lovely little boys. The treehouses were such a novelty and the kids loved it. They were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were great and full of knowledge, the farm animals being an added bonus. Everything was so well thought out for families, we met some great wee friends to play woth and the kids were never without a football buddy or cricket team. Bonfires, bbq and fire in the kitchen kept us cosy all weekend. Honestly will be back and already thinking harvest moon will be our Easter break again for years to come. Thank you!

This is our second time staying at harvest moon and we absolutely love it. The only thing we missed this time around was being able to feed the baby lambs like my children did the first year we stayed. But we love harvest moon and will no doubt be back for a third stay.

The treehouse 7 was very comfortable and cosy with the wood burning stove.
Lovely views and 10mins walk from the beach.
All round relaxing being immersed in nature.

A beautiful, scenic, comfortable break at treehouse 5! Very cosy and had all we needed in the accommodation. Anything else we needed was available in the honesty cupboard (tea, coffee, eggs, bacon, pasta and more). Petra (and Rudi) met us when we arrived and showed us around and took us to feed the alpacas in the morning. We had a flat tyre when it was time to leave and she kindly let us stay on for an extra 4hrs (would have kept us an extra night if needed) until we got sorted and back on the road! Brilliant customer service would love to come back and possibly try the beach house next time

The wood-burning stove/cooker in the living room/kitchen kept us warm and we even roasted marshmellows. The view from the treehouse is spectacular and the beach is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Some people were swimming! We had long lovely walks.

We had a wonderful girls’ holiday - 4 old school friends and a baby. The scenery is breathtaking, the local beach could be in the Caribbean on the right day! We had a very relaxing time, walking, sand dune sledging and taking in the magnificent views from the Treehouse balcony. (Bass rock was *just* hidden from view from our balcony due to a line of trees directly opposite!) The beach is a wee bit further from the treehouses than we’d expected. All the amenities in the treehouse were nice and clean, beds were pretty comfy with clean white sheets. The treehouse itself however is looking a tad unloved, which is a shame as I’m sure they would’ve been luxurious when they were first built. The wood doesn’t look like it’s been weatherproofed and has taken a battering over the years, and the outside is covered in cobwebs and general detritus, sadly making it appear more ‘shabby’ than ‘chic’. They are such a lovely company, everyone I dealt with was super friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating, even letting us have an early check in and late check out as they weren’t busy. I hope they’ll take the time to give the treehouses a much needed freshen up so they’ll still be standing in years to come! All in all a lovely wee holiday, just a little rough round the edges!

We had a lovely stay in Treehouse #7 at the end of the row. The treehouse was cozy and well kitted out with everything we needed. There was ample cut dry wood for the wood burning stove in the kitchen and the induction cooktop made it easy to prepare a warm meal at the end of the day. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and temperature - very nice to warm up and clean off after a hike. We were a group of three adults and had ample space for our stay.
There were lots of things to do! We enjoyed long walks along the beach, especially when the tide was out. There were many sea anemones, shore crabs, and other interesting things to be found in the tidepools. We went for a coastal hike and explored the anti-tank defenses from World War II.
We enjoyed spectacular rainbows arching over the treehouses and sand dunes from the porch. We even captured the Northern Lights one evening (visible on a camera, but not quite by eye)! Can't wait to return!

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Harvest Moon and 4 years later it was as great as our first visit. The team are lovely, very helpful and hospitable. The location and site are dreamy. Even when the weather isn't great you can relax or explore the area. We were there with friends and it's a great set up to socialise and let the kids safely roam free together. We'll definitely be back!

Thanks for a lovely stay. The team were so helpful prior to arrival setting up 2 travel cots for me , easing my anxiety on arriving on my own with 4 young children.
We had a fabulous time and enjoyed the relaxed feel of the site. The children loved the chickens and the wee shop which was so handy when running out of bits and bobs.
We really hope to come back next summer!

We had a brilliant stay in the treehouse with the kids adamant we have to go back next summer - they loved the swings, playing in the woods, playing at the beach (especially sledging down the sand dunes) and feeding the animals. The staff were great.

We have had a fabulous short break in the treehouses at harvest moon. The site is outstandingly beautiful- really lucky with the amazing weather but the highlight was how welcoming and helpful the site team were - especially Gary who made our stay lots of fun and gave us a smile every day. The treehouses are situated in one of the most beautiful places in Scotland. The beach is world-class--and empty! My small grandchildren love the treehouse and the beach and so do my ancient friends. I look forward to many more lovely visits.

Where do I start! Just back from a long weekend in the most idyllic place ever, the combination of the incredible views, beautiful countryside and spectacular coastline make this place so unique and so very special!

From the moment we arrived we received the warmest of welcomes from a lovely man named Gary who looked after us very well during our stay. We stayed in Treehouse 4 with little annex and it was pretty perfect in ever way - very practical and cosy and had all the conveniences you need for a relaxing lux clamping experience. From the swings to the hammock, the firepits and bbq's - to the outdoor seating and comfortable bedding they have really thought about how guests can make the most of their stay here. We were incredibly fortunate with the weather and enjoyed long days at the glorious beach - swimming, fishing and playing cricket, at night building fires and roasting marshmallows, and enjoying alfresco dinning and BBQ's. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven - we hope to be back soon x

p.s. more storage shelving and hooks in the treehouse bedrooms would be a great addition

The treehouses are lovely, they've got everything you need, it was all really comfy, clean and cosy. Each treehouse is positioned so it's not overlooked but close enough that it was fine for six year olds to run to different cabins with their new friends. Great location, so relaxing and a beautiful empty beach.

If there were any problems the staff were quick to sort them out and they were really friendly. Only downsides - the fridge wasn't great as it is outside so the temperature fluctuates a lot and I hadn't noticed that towels aren't provided but that's on me. My husband wishes the doors were higher as his head still hurt.

But the biggest problem is it's a very long way away from home so we can't come back frequently or for the odd weekend.

Treehouse 4 was located directly in front of the horse and alpaca field. This gave the opportunity to sit was watch in the peaceful surroundings. The chickens came up to the treehouse each morning to say hello which added to the places appeal.
The treehouse had a kitchen with an amazing log burner and then across the decking were 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. We also had a mini house next to the treehouse.
The weather was perfect for us to sit outside most of the time to eat and spend time with the family. My daughter loved the swings at the back of the treehouse which backed onto the woods. My son enjoyed the firepit provided and making smores each evening.
The staff were absolutely amazing, helpful and available to answer questions. The honesty shop was fully equipped with supplies and there were also some toys for children to borrow.
We feed the alpacas and took walks to the goats and the beach.
I would take a crash helmet with you if are taller than four foot. the doors are low and I hit my head most days. This added to the holiday as it ended up being funny each time.
I would highly recommend staying here and hope to visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tree house number 7 (it says treehouse 1 above but it was actually 7 that we stayed in).
The setting is beautiful. The treehouse was well equipped and very comfortable.
We noticed that the bunk bed was very sandy with sand on the bedding when we arrived so were concerned that it perhaps hadn’t been changed prior to our arrival.
The rest of the treehouse was excellent. We have rebooked for next year already!

The treehouses are perfect as they are but if you wished to elevate it even further the addition of a wood fired hot tub would be amazing! :)

We all loved our first glamping. Our first day was the most amazing weather. The route to the beach was an adventure as the pathway didn't look like a real pathway with all the weeds in the way. We persevered and the most phenomenal view of the private beach behind the sand dunes. Even when it was a rainy day the treehouse was lovely and cosy. Putting the fire on and playing games was perfect with family. Our bedroom and toilets were also very cosy. Didn't need the extra clothes I brought. We were lucky to see the hens roaming upto our treehouse and laid an egg on our property. We collected eggs, fed alpacas and went to see the goats near the beach hut. Lovely walks around the vicinity when taking the cottage route to the beach. We saw badgers, hares and pheasants. The most peaceful and amazing experience away from social media and screens. I am completely converted to glamping and no doubt will be returning.

On holiday here with my daughter and two grandchildren. Gary was waiting on us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know. The location was lovely and the beautiful sandy beach was a short walk away. Granddaughter loved feeding the animals and the swings beside the house. There is plenty to do in the area so all in all we had a lovely time and would book again.

I can't really analyse it, but everyone I bring to the treehouse just loves it. There is some kind of magic operating. The setting is awesome and just across the sand dune bern is what must be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, usually empty or almost empty. Originally given no.4 treehouse but we stayed in treehouse no.1.This was good for 3 of us with comfortable beds, kitchen had all we needed. Really peaceful location with great views up to Bass rock and surrounding area. Deer, rabbits, hares and birds were our neighbours. The people working on site were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

I wanted to give my big kids (14,14,12) a last kid adventure holiday as they’re growing up fast!
I also wanted a peaceful holiday for myself as I’m a single working mum parent.
2 of my kids have disabilities so needless to say a holiday fitting all our needs was hard to find. We needed a fridge for insulin as well as other needs.
Upon arriving after a long drive from Yorkshire and also through a storm, Alex welcomed us and took us to our remote treehouse. He helped us feel at ease and insisted I call if I needed any help with anything. I would have liked to but I didn’t need any help at all!
Everything was easy. Wood burning stove was a doddle and plenty of wood was provided.
My kids explored the woods and beach throughout the day and then we got local meat, fish and veg to cook at night finished off with marshmallows by the outdoor fire pit.
My youngest felt honoured when asked to help with the chickens every morning and he loved helping out.
Also a shout out to the riding school nearby Seacliff. There is a lady there with the kindest soul who recognised my eldest’s autism straight away and helped her have the most amazing experience and also gave me advice with her too.
Harvest Moon really is a truly magical place and we hope to be back some time soon.

We had such a wonderful time at Harvest Moon. The location is stunning… woodland and unspoilt beach so close.
The treehouse was wonderful and the boys loved it.
We were relieved to find that our treehouse had the additional pod as the rooms are quite compact.
Gary and Kirsten were so helpful and made us feel welcome.
We will definitely be back again in the future.

It was our second stay at the Treehouses. The location is amazing. The staff is lovely and welcoming and the little houses truly authentic and charming. Wifi is definitely a plus for rainy days with kids.

However, the houses are so tiny that you can't sleep properly without bothering the people next bedroom and the kitchen bed not super comfy. The bathroom water was vaguely warm. And although, we were aware that they did not provide towels, they were missed.
We've been quite unlucky with the weather this time, which made the houses quite damp. I guess it's the deal when you go "glamping" but that didn't make things really easy with the children.

I definitely recommend Harvest Moon treehouses although you need to get the best weather to really enjoy them.

Harvest Moon is a precious place! We were blessed with good weather and had the most memorable wedding to attend in their forest. Followed by a reception down in their field. We walked on the beach on the morning of the wedding, wow, unspoilt is an understatement! I don’t think I’ve ever been on such a beautiful beach in Scotland. The treehouse had a stunning view from the balcony, you could hear the sea from our bed, which was very comfortable! Well equipped with a little honesty shop for basic supplies. It was such a well needed change of scenery, quite a hidden gem. Thank you Harvest Moon!

We had the best stay at Harvest Moon treehouses. The location is unbeatable and absolutely stunning, the staff are super helpful and friendly and leave you to it. The treehouse has everything you need and anything you've forgotten you can get from the on site shop shed. We loved the beach and sledging on the dunes as well as the bike ride in the woods.

Lovely treehouse (number 5). It had everything you could ever need for a short break. Grandkids loved the experience of being indoors outdoors. The bunk room is perfect for kids and we found the beds to be clean and comfy. A great welcome from Gary and we were assisted by Petra when we had a problem with the shower. It was dealt with quickly and efficiently. We’d love to come back again and would definitely recommend. We had grandkids aged 8 and 5.

The site and treehouse did not disappoint. There was the added bonus of animals to feed, so exciting for the six year old boy with me. The staff were helpful, friendly and fun.
Unfortunately the weather was appalling causing minor criticism on my part regarding the layout. However myself and visitors I received agreed that in the summer it would be perfect.

We were not in treehouse 1 but treehouse 7.
Great welcome. They need comfier seating (padding). Bedroom layout and light switches not properly configurated. If in bedroom 2 you have to ask the other people in bedroom 1 to switch light off. Small lighting in each room would be better.
Shower could not be regulated, no matter what anybody done, far too hot
We and our friends make a point of trying different experiences each year. We would not go back but would not discourage others from visiting.

We booked out all the treehouses and cottage for our wedding and it passed our expectations! they were extremely helpful, and we arrived at our treehouse to a bottle of prosecco, bacon and fresh eggs, and flowers throughout the treehouse. What a stunning place to stay for a wedding! On arrival late on Friday, I drove up the farm track to lots of hares running about the fields. The treehouse that I stayed in was idyllic! So cosy and quaint but had everything you needed for the perfect stay! Waking up on Saturday I noticed that there were free range chickens and alpacas in the field down the track as well as an honesty but will all the essentials incase you run out. They really have thought of everything at harvest moon and I’m considering coming back for a summer getaway next year!

We stayed here in Treehut 6 for a wedding during Storm Babet which was not ideal and we didn't see it at its best!
Staff were very warm and welcoming and the stove kept us toasty warm, even with the wind whistling through all the cracks!
We hadn't realised though that one bedroom led through the other bedroom and that occupants of both rooms had to actually go outside to access the toilet/ shower - not ideal in a howling gale!. So to say the toilet is en Suite is misleading. We had trouble getting the shower temperature warm enough also. Some mirrors and ambient lighting for the living area would have been appreciated
However we were unlucky with the October weather and when the storm did clear, we could appreciate the great location and had a lovely wedding experience despite the challenging conditions.

We stayed in number 6 and it was magnificent everything about it was top drawer two grand kids aged 7 and 2 had an absolute blast it was an adventure from start to finish. Will definitely return, great place to disconnect and recharge. More rustic charm than luxury glamping. Some soft furnishings and lamps would be welcome finishing touches. The indoor lighting was a bit brash, with just the one main light. Kitchen/lounge seating area a bit tired and not particularly comfortable, added cushions would help. However, the pure sense you get of disconnecting from the chaos of the world and a beautiful, empty beach within a 10 min walk trumps any missing home comforts.

We stayed in the lovely treehouse for a special wedding. The large Harvest Moon site was lovely with plenty of open spaces for children to play & roam.
We had lovely views over the fields with the animals and the treehouse was a nice change from your typical accommodation. Also had a toasties log burner in the kitchen area.
In was beautifully clean, with 2 bedrooms having decent beds, although connected, so ensure you know your other guests well!
Our main issue is that although advertised as sleeps 7, one bed is actually the kitchen table and benchs dismantled and coverted. I'm assured that they are extremely uncomfortable, as the padded cushions do not actually fit the hard wooden frame .
Would stay again and would recommend but only for maximum 5, as 1 bedroom is a double with bunk above.
Im sure it would be fabulous in the summer for a (smaller) family holiday.

We had a wonderful stay as a family.of 4 with two little ones. The treehouse was exciting enough to be really different but with enough comfort not to have to work hard to be warm, dry and cosy! The kids loved the swings and being able to help feed the chickens and meet the goats. There is so much space and calm here and we had a lovely warm welcome that made us feel totally at home. Google can take you on a long winded track to get here but other than that it's been a perfect stay. Thank you so much

We took our 3yo here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Chickens are of course his new favourite animal after seeing them around and feeding them. There is plenty of space to wander around and we walked to the beach one afternoon which was lovely.
Everything is very isolated and quiet, we saw almost nobody the whole time we were there, which is great for us and gave more freedom for little one to run around. Location is well off track so the site felt safe and secure, but close enough to go and get any supplies as needed. We travelled into Edinburgh one day for activities and spent the day there as it's only an hour away.

The treehouse itself is spacious and really well equipped, a massive improvement on a caravan holiday. Having the outside decking space for playing was great and we also used it as storage space under the covered section. The heaters in the bedroom were perfect for the chillier nights and the stove in the kitchen kept the other room warm and the kettle on!

Definitely recommend this place and will consider returning in the future.

We were booked into treehouse 7, and to say it was a memorable time away was an understatement. I had originally booked somewhere else but had been let down at the last minute and I'm so pleased I was. On arrival, we were met by a member of staff who was friendly, helpful and definitely welcoming. He talked us through everything and we were fascinated by the chickens wondering round. We settled in and went for a walk to the beach which was beautiful. Tuesday we got up and went to the Royal yacht Brittany and museum of Flight. On the night time we took a walk to the beach huts to see the goats which were friendly and allowed a stroke or two. We then went for a walk round the grounds where we came across a few deers and hares. Which was amazing to see how close they can be. On our third day we hit Edinburgh but not before we said morning to the chickens. It was worth the visit up there and came back and spent some time with the chickens before we set out on another 3 mile walk. Although it started raining and we got lost, we seen a family of deers which I'm sure was laughing at us. If in doubt of never knowing the place, it's definitely worth a few days break, the area is beautiful, the rooms are clean and spacious and we will definitely be back soon for another break away. The staff we seen over the couple of days are friendly and helped with any queries we had, thank you for a memorable trip away from home

Our recent stay in Treehouse 1 was unforgettable! All staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful if you had any questions about anything. The location of the site has stunning views of the bass rock and the local area and the beach is only a 5-10 min walk away. The sand dunes on the beach are great for sledging down and there was a few of these of site you could borrow. The children enjoyed feeding the alpacas and interacting with the chickens also. The whole place had a laid back vibe to it which encourages you to relax and switch off.

Harvest Moon is a beautifully situated glamping site in East Lothian, a stone's throw from a lovely sandy beach, forest walks and within a half-dozen miles of a variety of cultural and family attractions. We spent a fantastic week there, the treehouse accommodation is great with plenty of well-kept facilities, usable outdoors space and fun things for children to do. The daily visit from the farm's chickens was an unexpected bonus!

The staff at harvest moon were all lovely and very helpful.
We stayed in treehouse 7 which is great but in need of some TLC. Just small things would help like sanding the table down and restaining it, putting some seat pads on the wooden chairs, adding a drying line, new pillows & mattresses and a new shower curtain. Overall just a bit tired and in need of a freshen up would help justify the cost. As it is we would not return.
The area itself is absolutely beautiful and the beach fantastic and clean.

We stayed it a treehouse for 4 nights, it was so relaxing and fun for our family. Beds were very comfortable. My son (5) loved feeding the chickens and riding his bike around the forest roads. The beach is a 10minute walk and is absolutely stunning. Everyone, from the other treehouses too, kicked a ball about in the evenings. Fresh eggs in the mornings was the cherry on top!

We had a great welcome from Chris and then the following morning Gary provided a guided Alpaca feeding session. This great level of customer service continued throughout our stay.

The treehouses were fun and the children loved the bunk beds. One evening we had a campfire and roasted marshmallows bought from the honesty shop.

The beach nearby is incredible and provides plenty of opportunity to go into the sea and run across the huge swathes of sand.

They are well located within an area that is ideal for a family holiday.

We had a amazing holiday in treehouse 6, this was our third visit and we enjoyed it just as much as our first. The location is stunning and the beach is outstanding (even late at night!). the staff (Chris and Gary) were helpful and friendly.

It is the most chilled and relaxing holiday, the wildlife was plentiful with numerous deer and hare sightings and even a pod of dolphins while we were at Tantallon Castle

We also had memorable visits to Edinborough and Crammond Island as well

We are already looking forward to coming back!

I would highly recommend the treehouses! I recently stayed with my mum and two children and we all absolutely loved it! The treehouse was clean and cosy and in such a beautiful setting. The children had so much freedom to run around and play and the beach is just stunning and so lovely and quiet. They enjoyed feeding the alpacas each morning too! We saw deer, hare and so many wonderful birds and butterflies. Such a relaxing break making memories together.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 4 days glamping in Treehouse 2 with our 5 and 3 year old sons. The location in East Lothian is excellent. The treehouses are secluded but in close proximity by car to the many towns, villages, beaches, woods and family attractions in the area. A stunning stretch of beach is within walking distance from the treehouses even for a 3 year old. The highlight for the boys was helping to feed the hens and alpacas each morning. There is very minimal storage in the bedrooms but Treehouses 2 has a granny flat rather than fold down bed in the kitchen which provided welcome floor space.

We returned to the treehouses this Easter break after visiting last summer. We had a fabulous time. The kids enjoyed feeding the lambs, chickens and alpacas. The beach is beautiful and just a short walk away. And the treehouses themselves are great - really unusual and surprisingly well equipped. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the treehouse. It was great to be away from technology and modern appliances. My son loved the wood burning stove and having the freedom to go outside at night to toast marshmallows. It’s close enough to local towns for shopping etc but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend getting a wee glass of wine and just relaxing under the blanket of stars.

Harvest Moon is situated on a beautiful farmland site. We stayed in a treehouse. The beds are very comfortable and warm. There are small electric heaters if you get very cold at night. Our kids (ages 6 and 8) loved to play on the swings and help feed the chickens, lambs and alpacas. There are lots of things to do close by. This was our second visit. We will book again.

My son and his young family stayed in this house. The fact that it had been fitted for disabled use , meant that it worked very well for them. The ramp gave their one-year old toddler room to roam.
In general the family had a wonderful time in the space and feeding the animals. Those who fed the animals were excellent with the youngsters.

Compared with the other two houses that the family used I found this one quite small. We were 4tall adults and sometimes it was a tight squeeze. Thankfully we had the 'little house' alongside. My son and partner slept there otherwise we really would not have coped. This house had no storage area for food in the kitchen.
However ,in all , we had a terrific weekend inmthe 3 houses.

An absolutely amazing stay - the location is stunning with views from the treehouses over the fields to the sea, the Bass Rock and Berwick Law. The accommodation is brilliant; so unique but really well-kitted out and very comfortable. The large decking area is a great space and the swings underneath and fire pit are really lovely touches. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful and joining them to feed the animals was so magical, especially for kids! We thought we would do a few day trips but ended up spending almost all of our time in the woods, on the beach and on the farm and it couldn't have been more perfect. We cannot wait to go back!

We had a lovely two night weekend stay at treehouse 6. It's a lovely site, close to a beautiful sandy beach with alpacas and pygmy coats to keep the kids entertained. The space was clean and nicely laid out with everything we needed. There is lots of things close by for the kids and adults to do and visit. Plenty of firewood provided for the stove and outside firepit which was great for toasting marshmallows. Really enjoyed our stay.

We had a 3 night stay for our daughters birthday. We had an amazing time, check in with Chris was easy, informal and really friendly. Beautiful location with lots of great walks round the area and a lovely beach a short walk away. Treehouses are well spaced out although we had the place to ourselves and it was so peaceful. Accommodation is spacious and had everything we needed, we came in March and can see this place is geared for better weather, although we love being outdoors and it is ‘glamping’ after all so we knew what to expect but I have to say we weren’t cold once! The fire and the little heaters kept up cosy. This place would be amazing to come with your family and have lots of fun in the communal space provided, bbq area, games and a small honesty shop all provided. We had a memorable stay and would encourage anyone thinking about it to book it. Thanks for the memories

We were actually in treehouse 6, not that it matters to you as a guest. For a February stay, there were no problems with keeping warm, the heaters in the bedrooms really do a great job, and the wood fired stove was ready to go and easy to use, with plenty of well seasoned wood close by that you could help yourself to. Welcome pack was lovely, cereal, milk, bread, coffee, tea etc. A short walk takes you over the dunes to Ravensheugh sands, a stunning stretch of golden sand, empty but for a couple of hardy dog walkers. Lots of birdwatching, take your binoculars. Deer frequently pass over the track, pheasants wander. Comfortable beds, plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking vessels. Gorgeous.

A February half term break with the Grandchildren
A 5 day hiatus with no electronic appliances.
The children collected the wood for the stove, toasted marshmallows on the firepit. We had board game competitions every night
Our grandson played his guitar
We had a wonderful football match with Grandma in the goals!
They climbed trees, fed the alpaccas, walked over the dunes to a practically deserted beach, to explore the rock pools, kick the football and shout and scream without being told to be quiet!
A wonderful, carefree week, making some very special memories.

We stayed in a treehouse over feb half term with our 9 & 6 year old. We all loved walking to the beach in the frost for sunrise, camp fires at night with marshmallows, making coffee on the range, sleeping with storm Otto’s winds whistling round us. It’s a beautiful, unspoilt site with lots of space between each treehouse but communal spaces too & our kids made some lovely friends to play with. Lots to see & do in the local area - we enjoyed Edinburgh zoo, going to Edinburgh on the train from Dunbar, the seabird sanctuary, dinner at hectors in Dunbar & the crown in east Linton. Very friendly welcome when we arrived by Chris. One tip is I wish we’d brought a little night light for the children’s bedroom.

We had booked the Treehouse for the last week of the season in mid-November. When we arrived we were told that we were the only ones on site which meant that we had the run of the whole place. As we were the only ones there the on-site honesty shop wasn't operating so we were provided with the most comprehensive welcome basket I have ever had which contained bread, eggs from the on-site chickens, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, marshmallows and hot chocolate sachets, ketchup and brown sauce and salt and pepper - such a lovely surprise as we weren't expecting anything. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome and told to help ourselves to as much wood as we needed during our stay. The heaters had been put on in the accommodation in advance of our arrival so it was really cosy from the start.

The accommodation itself was really comfortable and warm. We enjoyed the layout and the views and peace of the place were exceptional. We had a truly magical stay spending our time between the treehouse, feeding the on-site animals, playing on the swings, walking on the beach, exploring the site and looking at the stars.

I would definitely recommend a stay here - I'm sure we'll be back!

We stayed in the October holidays and all had lots of fun. The treehouses were very cosy, even after coming in from the sea, with plenty of hot water for showers. Cooking was done on a wood fired stove, which worked very well and got the kitchen very warm indeed. The location is idyllic, with lovely forest and beach walks. We went in the sea every day and enjoyed good surfing and paddling. The team invited the kids to feed the Alpacas in the morning, which was great fun. Everybody was very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay in Treehouse 6, great way to have an experience similar to camping if you have younger kids as they don’t get too cold due to them having some heating. We had a brilliant 3 nights stay during the October break. We were very comfortable the 4 of us: 2 adults and 2 kids.

We had a friendly greeting shortly after arriving, and our treehouse was perfectly warm with the heaters on for us. (These were switched off the rest of our stay as we didn’t need them whatsoever!). Remarkably cozy treehouses!

We had to have the stove on every morning, and evening for cooking; we were sweltering actually and had to open windows so wow, very effective wood burning stoves - love it! I’d brought loads of warm clothes and blankets too, which weren’t necessary at all. Unfortunately I neglected to bring enough towels but that was our bad planning.

We had everything we needed in the kitchen crockery/pots & pans wise, and one dish towel. We needed a shop anyway, but had to buy salt, pepper, oil. These would have been available in the on-site honesty shop though, I’m sure. It seemed very well stocked - though pricey!

A few comments for improvements:

I think a lamp might be a nice addition for the living area as the lighting was a bit harsh for evening. We happened to have a camping lantern thing and bought some candles so it was lovely!

The shower was adequate, but difficult to regulate and actually the temperature dial was best at the vertical position as turning it to either side (hot OR cold) resulted in scalding water. We’d been advised at our welcome that things like this could be adjusted easily, but didn’t get round to saying. It was potentially just an issue with having been run for a long time. I invariably had the 4th shower after everyone had been swimming/surfing.

The fridge is outside and I’m not sure this was why, or if the dial had been knocked, but our food and drinks were frozen which was annoying. Nothing drastic but it did ruin a few things.

Overall we utterly loved our stay.
We had family in the treehouse next to us. All the kids loved various walks, and feeding the Llamas, and beach trips (a 10 or so minute walk).

We had a great session at Foxlake nearby for the Watersports fans out there.
We had a lovely meal out at the Brig and Barrel and the people carrier taxi was reasonable (£16 there & £19 back).
We intended to see nearby Tantallon castle but will have to come back for that.

Anyway. Overall we highly recommend a stay at Harvest moon!!

We absolutley loved our stay at Treehouse 7 (we we're moved so we had a better view as the site was not fully occupied). The view of Bass Rock and out to sea was fantastic and the accomodation was perfect. The kids loved the stay and we found the staff friendly and helpful and we're brilliant with the kids when feeding the chickens and alpacas. The other facilities including the bonfire area and bbq area were brilliant too and the honesty shop is such a great idea.

We will definitely be back!

A wonderful, wonderful special birthday stay at Treehouse 4 for 4 adults. Absolute perfection, couldn't fault a thing. Loads of room and spotless with thoughtful touches. Plentiful supply of wood, etc, for the stove and a firepit. There's even an honesty shop on site to purchase anything you need. Set in magnificent scenery within woodlands and close to the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at Harvest Moon for my sisters wedding. It was everything we needed and wanted. The kids had so much fun feeding the chickens and alpacas.
Only negative would be there was little to no hot water for the shower but I’m sure it’s an easy fix!

Had a fabulous 4 nights with my wife and our daughter, 11. The treehouses offer all the fun of camping with the comforts of self catering accommodation. We loved having the local beach to ourselves and the wildlife was outstanding - badgers, bats, pheasants, squirrels, geese and various seabirds. Our daughter loved helping take care of the animals and especially Brenda the chicken. The accommodation offers something really different, staff antler friendly and helpful and all the little details have been well taken care of. There is loads to do nearby including Foxlake adventures, North Berwick Law and boat trip to Bass Rock. We will be back.

I stayed at treehouse 6 with 3 of my girlfriends to celebrate us all turning 50 this year. The treehouse was such a lovely place to gather - we had cosy evenings in the kitchen/living area, yoga on the deck in the mornings and spent many hours in the sea, swing and playing with boogie boards! The chickens came to visit us and we enjoyed the time to hang out with each other in the simplicity of treehouse life away from the usual hustle and bustle of our busy family lives. I slept in the kitchen which was ok but the bed is not the comfiest , the others found their beds quite comfy, if a little firm. We loved it so much that we are planning to repeat our trip next year.Thank you harvest moon!

We has an amazing stay at the Treehouse with kids (aged 9 and 2 yo). We all absolutely loved our very memorable treehouse stay. Beautiful safe and quiet surroundings enabled the children to have the freedom to play outside and make friends. So relaxed and welcoming. A beautiful beach just a 4 or 5 minute walk away. The children loved the chickens and the alpacas and collecting the logs in the wheelbarrow. Campfire cooking in the pot was new to us and very enjoyable and toasting marshmallows is always fun. No need to go anywhere. All essential food items available in honesty shop. Fabuolus with no TV, wifi or mobile signal (a short walk did give us mobile coverage if needed). We hope to return and will confidently recommend to family and friends. Thank you.

Having found this magical and awesome place last year, we have not been disappointed to return!

Stunning landscape, pristine beaches, and all you need and wish for in an accommodation as grown ups ( beautifully kept, spotlessly clean, spacious yet cosy) and as children ( magically fabulous - like the treehouses you read about in children’s literature!)

We have just returned from staying in the treehouses and have already rebooked for next year but for longer staying a whole week. I have no negative feedback apart from I would love the windows to be cleaned a bit more and also have some more hooks in the main bedroom. Apart from that we loved it all. Chris is an excellent host/member of staff and worked hard to cater for everything you needed. We would definitely recommend this as a place to visit.

The treehouses are spacious, and very rustic with nearly everything you need - we could have benefitted from a fridge with a freezer section in the hot weather. They are located a short walk from the beach which is beautiful and very quiet.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, even providing assistance outside of their working hours. The beach and the forest nearby are spectacular for walks. This was our 2nd visit to the Harvest moon Tree Houses. Last time was in October but we wanted to make a summer time visit to make the most of the long summer days. So glad we picked the place again. Fantastic lazy days with meals outside on the decks, a fire pit for the sundown marshmallow toasting, an amazing beach a short walk across the sand dunes, really comfy beds to flake out in at the end of the day. Great location if you're looking to explore the area. Would love to visit again one day.

Everything was great. Especially liked the honesty shop which came in very useful. Our two grandsons had a wonderful time with the freedom of the site. They enjoyed the beach and the walks to the beach as well as the chickens, and seeing a deer from the window of the treehouse was a particular bonus. We would have liked the chicken coop at the door but understand the reason why that wasn't possible. We loved using the wood burning stove and the fire bowl outside to toast marshmallows. The weather was quite cold (for the beginning of July) but we still managed to eat out on the verandah and loved the vew across the fields to the sea and the Bass Rock. We saw hares boxing in the field and goldcrests picking seeds from the thistles outside the treehouse. The boys found frogs and grasshopers and a toad - they were delighted. Only criticism was the bread knife .. it could have been sharper.

We stayed at Harvest Moon last year in a beach hut but decided to try the treehouse this year. The treehouse was well laid out and the views were amazing. The added comfort of heaters and the odd socket was very helpful with two small children. The shower was excellent and the kitchen had everything you needed to prepare simple meals. The outside areas were great and our girls had a lot of freedom to play safely. The walk to the beach was an interesting one, seeing al pacas, chickens and horses, and the beach itself was beautiful. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

An excellent stay at Harvest Moon Treehouse(s) - we booked two for our three generation staycation. The setting is amazing, with beautiful sunsets every night. We were cosy and warm, lots of hot water after our paddle boarding and drying opportunities with the range fires. The honesty shop is great and so was the hut with games for the kids. My only suggestion was a wee brush and shovel for the fire and maybe separate bins to make the recycling easier. I have put cleanliness down as good rather than excellent because they’d had a big wedding at the weekend before our arrival and there was rubbish left in a drawer (obviously easily overlooked). Also there was some broken glass - again this is more about the previous occupants. We totally loved our stay and will certainly be back!

Me and my friend and her 2 year old son have just returned from an awesome 4 night stay in the treehouse. We had a fantastic time. Location is fab and beach is a dream! We never saw anyone else on it the entire trip it felt like a private beach just for us! Perfect for day trips to other beaches, or north Berwick and Edinburgh. The treehouse is very cool and unusual and all the added details (chickens, swings, paintings on the walls etc) kept the little one entertainment to no end! I would return in a second. It was quite an expense for us but worth every penny!

Access to the site off the main road is via a very long and very bumpy gravel track. Welcome was warm and friendly. Facilities were more than adequate. Location lovely with view of Bass Rock in the distance. I personally found room access at the tree house awkward due to low door heights as I'm 6' 4" but would not be an issue if you're 5' 8" or less...My 5' 2" wife loved it there! Overall, a pleasant 2-night stay purely to attend a wedding ceremony. Loved the 'honesty shop' ❤

It was great fun staying in the Tree House. Doesn't take long to warm up when the wood burner is on. The children adored feeding the animals and the staff were absolutely brilliant with them. Well stocked kitchen and clean and tidy bedrooms. Plenty of space out on the decking and nice touch with the swings underneath. Chicken for the week provided us with a fresh egg on a daily basis and there were plenty more in the 'honesty' shop. Discovered we really don't need a lot to have a great time. Beach is fairly close and the wave jumping was great fun. Short distance from Dunbar and North Berwick with little shops and cafes. Great location.

We had a brilliant 4 nights in the treehouse. We felt relaxed by the time we got to the car park.

The treehouse felt so welcoming and homely. The accommodation is clean, simple and warm. The kitchen had a toaster and kettle but any cooking beyond that was done on the wood burning stove. Our first dinner took a long long time to cook but we’d got the hang of fire making by day two!

The beach is spectacular and a short walk away. We went every day. At the far end (nr the beach cabins) there’s a brilliant area where the river meets the sea which is fab for paddling (sandy shallow fresh water) and there’s huge steep sand dunes which were really fun to climb and slide down.

It was really windy while we were there so we didn’t bbq but would definitely do bbq/bonfire next time.

The open space around the treehouses was a fantastic play space and our son and treehouse neighbours had the best time running wild and free!

We need to thank Chris, Gary and Petra for their welcome and hospitality. They were so friendly and we got the chance to get involved with learning about and feeding the animals.

We didn’t need anything from the honesty shop but it was really well stocked for any eventuality.

Honestly one of the best holidays we’ve had and will provide happy memories for years to come.

Just arrived back from a 4 day stay at harvest moon and it delivered everything and more of our expectations. It was the perfect family retreat. Based a short walk to the beach, in gorgeous green surroundings you can't fault the location.
We had the opportunity every day to feed the lambs and experience one and one time with then which we never expected to do, the children loved it.
The treehouse was cosy and equipt with all things you would need for a camping trip. You just need to bring you and your food, toys and warm clothes. Although the weather was slightly chilly at times we were able to sit by a camp fire every night. The stay enabled us to have perfect escape from the usual day to day and experience a far simpler few days! Just perfect.

My partner and I and our 4 childrens aged 4, 8, 11 and 14 stayed for 4 nights during the Easter holiday. We absolutely loved our holiday in tree house number 2.
The tree house was a short distance from a beautiful beach, we enjoyed melting marshmallows on the camp fire, my kids spent time playing with lambs and feeding the alpacas with the help of Chris and Gary, who couldn’t be more friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend a stay at the tree houses, it has all the fun of camping but with bathroom facilities and electric lighting and sockets to the stay more comfortable.

We had an idyllic couple of days in the treehouse. The beach was beautiful and deserted. Despite gale force winds wrecking homes up and down the country the treehouse was stable and warm throughout the bad weather. The stove was a little unpredictable for cooking in, the first day the oven worked well but the second day we could not get enough heat in it to use it and had to cook everything on the stove top so it is worth thinking about what you will take to cook with this in mind. My only criticism is there were quite a lot of cobwebs on the roof and dead flies in them. It didnt bother me as I thought it added to the treehouse effect but my daughter didnt like it at all. The beds were very comfy and we will definitely be returning.

What a great time we had. The holiday started well before we had even left the house with a friendly text to welcome us and say the treehouse was ready.
My daughters loved the safety and freedom they had to run around and absolutely loved getting to feed the animals. It was such a peaceful and relaxing break.
The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the accommodation was just so cool. Perfect combination of being in nature but with some home comforts.
We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved the tree house and it's beautiful location. The integrated swings and keeping a chicken were absolute highlights for our 6 year old too - oh and helping to feed the friendly alpacas supervised by the helpful staff. We enjoyed relaxing, walks along the beach, exploring the area, climbing trees and cooking marshmallows and toast on the fire pit. We didn't feel the need to stray too far, although there are plenty of things to do in the area. The site is beautifully kept but still feels wild and free. There is a super little honesty shop for all your basic supplies (including a cold beer :-) ).

I'd looked at the Harvest Moon treehouses and beach huts many times over the past few years hoping that we could make it there one day and we finally made it and I'm so glad we did. A half term weekend get away with the children. The tree houses are great but don't expect luxury, this is rustic glamping in a fantastic setting. They're cosy and warm, perfect for a digital detox. A short stroll to a fantastic beach. To enhance the experience it's all about the outdoors so if we do it again we'll go in the summer with the longer days and hopefully better weather . . it was a wee bit damp when we were there. Definitely still on my hit list for another visit.

We have been glamping before so we had an idea what to expect. The accommodation is a good size and fairly well equipped. I know it is out in the country, but it was a bit grotty. Lots of cobwebs and dusty corners showing it really isn’t thoroughly cleaned. The main double bed was really uncomfortable, sagged in the middle and had springs poking through. This has already been shared with the hosts. Charging extra for chicken coop with only one chicken (we let it out to join its friends) and for the fire pit is a bit excessive. Nice features ; lovely deck, swings are great. Just needs cleaned better

We enjoyed our stay. Being high up felt delightful and we loved the wide open view. The spacious balcony was perfect for a big family get together. The kitchen was very well equipped and having a fridge was the height of sophistication! I would suggest, though that for more elderly people it would be helpful to indicate on the website that access to the beach involves going up and then down quite a steep sand dune; and that the doors to the rooms are very very low involving ducking to get in and out of rooms. My husband ended up both avoiding the walk to the beautiful beach and with a sore back from getting in and out of rooms. A lovely few days nevertheless.

It was a perfect location for a wedding, especially the bonfire, marshmallows and sparklers the night before, but the most wonderful bit was introducing my two year old grandson to the ‘big water’ the chickens and the goats. He was in his element with the big skies and the freedom to roam. I wonder what it was like in his head to wake up in London on the Monday and discover he didn’t actually live in a treehouse on a farm by the sea. The honesty shop was a treat especially the double-yolker eggs for breakfast. I could go on for pages; it was all just fabulous.

The treehouses are in a lovely location, just a few minutes walk from the beach.

They are well equipped for cooking, eating or for just sitting out enjoying the peaceful setting; and the play area, swings, hammock etc are great.

A few things that would be useful are:
A bigger mirror - particularly helpful if you are getting ready for a wedding.
A map of the site in each treehouse or on the check in info.
Higher doorways where possible or something to make them easier to see where not.
Some smaller lights in the bedrooms.

It's a great site though.

The treehouse was lovely, very well equipped and much bigger than I was expecting! The bed was a little hard, and a second pillow would have been really appreciated. The wood burning stove is great, I was surprised at how quickly it got hot and it was lovely for warming up the living area. The swings and the hammock were a lovely touch too. We stayed for 4 nights at the treehouse, and our toddler had the most wonderful time: swinging in the swings, chasing the chickens, playing in the almost deserted beach, reading stories by the fire pit, feeding the alpacas.

We were 6 people in two treehouses: two kiddies, the parents, and the grandparents. It was convenient to have the beach so close; this way we could simply walk there, and in smaller groups when some were ready to go but others were not (or when some needed naps).

Our kid fell in love with Gary who showed her how to feed the alpacas, and really really wanted to show him "the rivers in the beach". What a fun vacation in a truly beautiful place!

We stayed for 4 nights at the treehouse, and our toddler had the most wonderful time: swinging in the swings, chasing the chickens, playing in the almost deserted beach, reading stories by the fire pit, feeding the alpacas.

We were 6 people in two treehouses: two kiddies, the parents, and the grandparents. It was convenient to have the beach so close; this way we could simply walk there, and in smaller groups when some were ready to go but others were not (or when some needed naps).

Our kid fell in love with Gary who showed her how to feed the alpacas, and really really wanted to show him "the rivers in the beach". What a fun vacation in a truly beautiful place!

This time in the tree house with grand parents in tow.
Having the house with the extra room made all the difference for sleeping 6 as we did not need to make up the kitchen bed every night.

We were actually in treehouse 7 which had prime views of the Bass Rock and the alpacas which the children loved. We had a wonderful time and felt very welcomed and looked after whilst at the same time left to our own devices so we could really relax. The beach is a short walk along a field path and over a dune and is absolutely stunning! The kids loved their bunkbed bedroom which was through a door in our bedroom so we felt they were safe and secure. The treehouse is surprisingly large and the kitchen with the stove was so cosy and had everything we needed. We brought lots of food with us so we didn’t need to leave and the little honesty shop kept us topped up with the essentials. Not to mention our chicken which laid an egg for us! Bring plenty food as you won’t want to leave! We will definitely be returning.

We had a great time at the treehouses. The location is amazing with the beach a short walk over the dunes and lovely views of the Bass Rock. It's a perfect place for children as they are free to roam and enjoyed feeding the chickens and alpacas each morning. The treehouse itself was warm and comfortable and very well equipped. We (two adults, one almost 5 year old) loved our stay in the treehouse, and our son is already asking to go back! We had everything we needed and did not miss wifi at all. The beach is beautiful and just a 5 minute walk, was never busy, and has great rockpools where we found starfish, crabs and a sea anemone! Plenty to do for families off site within a short drive and easy enough to get into Edinburgh too via park and ride. Probably wouldn't take a chicken coop again as there were other hens roaming free, though our son did like the novelty of collecting our eggs. The staff were pleasant and engaged really well with the kids. We would highly recommend for a wholesome family getaway and hope to return one day.

We loved our stay - such a break from reality with everything back to basics. We spent lazy days on the beach which was super quiet, almost private! We really enjoyed our break with Harvest Moon. The location is just stunning and the weather really made it!

We were in Treehouse 1, well located for the small car park although a bit of a walk to the beach with two little ones, chairs, picnic, surf boards etc....top tip...we drove down to the Beach Cabins with our gear and from there it is only a 2 min walk to the beach complete with the river estuary which is always a hit with the kids to play in. Even on the hottest weekend of the summer so far Tynighame beach was practically empty which was heaven, it being quite a trek to get too even from the Lime Tree Walk car park.

The treehouse itself was vert comfortable, nice beds, bathroom and very well equipped kitchen. We didn't use the stove, partly because the weather was so warm, and also as we had brought a small camping stove to cook on...we felt this would be easier than getting the stove going every time we wanted to cook. In the end it was a good idea as it would have been to hot with the log burner going.

Our only criticism was the outdoor space, we felt this could be upgraded with better quality/condition furniture. Everything we had was a little rickety, mismatching and uncomfortable making it difficult to make the best use of the amazing views and deck. For this price we would expect this to be better. Also, although it was obvious that best efforts had been made to clean the deck there was a lot of debris (leaves, dust, fluff, hairs), in and around the doorways and on the mats into the bedrooms and bathroom. The mats were also fairly tatty and I did worry about bringing things in on our feet.

These were minor issues and easily rectified! We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay. My 3 year old loved the treehouse, swings and having animals on site. Staff were lovely and wonderful at helping support him feed the Alpacas. The beautiful and very quiet beach is 5-10mins walk away.
Treehouse itself has everything you need. My only slight disappointment was our lodge view which overlooked the field with football nets rather than front, sea facing. It was still very private, however next time I’d possibly like to try another.

Our little boy loved living in a treehouse for the week. The location is beautiful both on the site itself and the beach itself. We were very fortunate with the weather and could not really pick a nicer spot to get away and holiday. Stunning. The treehouse itself is nice to be in and the customer service from Gary was great. The shower was a bit variable - sometimes hot enough, sometimes not. For the money things like cooking pot, chicken to feed etc should be thrown in for free if desired probably - it feels a bit stingy and that is strangely opposite to how the place and people actually feel. It would be helpful to be able to tie the kitchen/living room door open. The shop is helpful to have a well stocked with the basics.

Wow, totally blown away by this experience so close to home (we live in Edinburgh). Felt like we were a million miles away! Fabulous treehouse with a massive deck with an incredible view. The kids loved the chicken, swings and the whole thing was an adventure. The beach is incredible - but be prepared for the wind! A highlight for me was standing on the beach watching the gannets dive in repeatedly to catch fish.

We had an absolutely amazing time in our treehouse at Harvest Moon. The whole experience was perfect and far exceeded our expectations - we haven't had such a fun and relaxing holiday since the kids were born!
The treehouses are perfect - plenty of room for the whole family, very clean and a great hot shower. I particularly enjoyed using the wood burning stove and the fire pit, and the kids loved the swings and the chicken.
The site is also fantastic - incredible views from the treehouse decking, and the accommodation is very well spaced out so you feel like you have the place to yourself. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and it's a fantastic sandy beach with hardly any people on it, even in good weather.
The staff are also great - always happy to chat and available if you need them for anything.
Overall we couldn't fault the holiday and we can't wait to go back next year!

Another amazing visit to Harvest Moon. Although it's so close to Edinburgh, it feels like a world away. The Treehouse was clean, warm and welcoming (especially needed in the unseasonal weather) and kept us snug despite the storms outside. Luckily the weather improved and we were able to head off to the fantastic beach, coo over the pygmy goats and feed the alpacas, watch the wildlife and explore the woods. The kids loved toasting marshmallows over the campfire they'd lit themselves. The team were friendly, efficient and thoughtful, and happy to help. Beautiful location and really something different.

This is the second time we hand stayed at Harvest Moon and once again we had a brilliant time. The location of the campsite is stunning and the novelty of staying in a treehouse, along with the facilities to make it an ‘upmarket’ version of camping means that it is a holiday that my kids love and my non-camping husband can get on board with too.

So we actually stayed in tree house number 2 , as it was changed when we got there , made no difference to us at all , we were over the moon with the views and the tree house , the cooking pot outdoors and our chicken , the swings was a great asset , all back to nature with added luxury of having electricity, my kids 5 & 15 had the time of their lives , as did we , just chilling playing family board games and being forced to interact with each other was just bliss after a horrible year , the animals was a fab attraction, beautiful walks , and one of the most stunning beaches ive seen ! We are ever so thankful to chris who was so welcoming to us and always at hand with any queries , my little one was so excited to help chris feed the alpacas, we will definitely be returning , the severtson family May 2021

The treehouse is beautiful, really well equipped and heated so we stayed cosy in November. The site is great with free range chickens and goats to feed, and a short walk to a stunning beach. The stove is easy to use too. And staff are super helpful. It's a great place to be offline and relax. We'll definitely be back!

We had a very close to home weekend holiday in a Harvest Moon Treehouse. We loved it! The beautiful beach is a two minute walk away, and we had an amazing sunset our first night. On the Saturday morning we hired SUPs from Coast to Coast surf school to explore the amazing coast. On the Sunday we made friends with the Alpacas.
The Treehouse was very cozy with the wood burning stove going. It was comfortable but still felt very close to nature.
We will definitely be back soon!

Stayed 4 nights and the first time glamping.. Treehouse was great. The bedrooms were nice and warm even though it was late October and once we got the wood burning stove going everything was toasty. Our children enjoyed looking after the chicken and there is a lovely beach less than 10 mins walk away.

A fantastic location, my partner would never do camping so this was the closest I would get him to outdoor living! Everyone had a great time! We have 11yr old and a 3yr old, hard to satisfy both but this did it! Great walks, getting the family working together collecting wood keeping fires going! Seeing the animals and feeding them.

Gorgeous setting with access to the beach lots to keep the kids entertained. Cute treehouse with a cute wee stove that kept us very cosy, the kids loved the swings and hammock. Our wee chicken Dorothy laid an egg every morning. Animals well looked after, Chris was lovely and very helpful. Only downside would be the comfort of the mattresses however overall we loved our stay and exploring the surrounding area. Have already recommended to other families.

We've recently returned from a stay at one of Harvest Moon's Treehouses. I took along my skeptical husband and an overly-excited toddler. The holiday will go down as one of the best we've ever had and one we are already thinking of repeating. The Treehouse offered all the amenities required for a comfortable stay with ample space for our family to stretch out. The fire pit and chicken were an added bonus to the site. While the weather in October can be a challenge, we were able to enjoy the stunning beach, explore the larger site and visit the alpacas, horses, and goats and make memories we'll hold onto for a long time.

We'll absolutely return to Harvest Moon and have recommended it to our friends and family.

We had a fantastic break at Harvest Moon, staying in both the Treehouses and the Beach Huts. The staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. We went with our 2YO daughter who loved all the animals - especially feeding the Alpacas and caring for our own chicken! We were so impressed by the facilities and enjoyed lots of campfires. The location is fantastic! Especially in the beach huts as you are so closed to the huge sandy beach. We’ll definitely be back!

After months of London lockdown, this was a perfect retreat back in nature. The manager was super helpful before we arrived (& checking we had all we wanted when we arrived) and we found our treehouse perfectly set up for us. It was a wonderful surprise to find it so warm and cosy, and it is really nicely designed and kept. I loved running up and down the sand dunes, along the waters edge and around the fields with my son and getting slightly lost in the beautiful woods! It was nice to see 3 alpaca, some chickens, pheasants and a rabbit too. It was a real bonus to find honesty stores with a few essentials too. It’s also under an hour in a taxi from the airport which makes it more accessible than I realised. Enjoy!

Had a great time in a Harvest Moon treehouse. The accomodation was large enough for 2 adults and 2 small children with additional sleeping space in the kitchen/living room if need be. All very clean and staff were very friendly.

The area is lovely. Farm animals on your doorstep and free roaming hens for the kids to play with. The beach was empty and about a 10-15 minute walk from the treehouse. We were very lucky with the weather - the holiday would have felt very different if it was raining all week. However this is true of all rural areas in scotland.

Prices for the stay were on the steep side however it was worth it. I would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet break away from the usual hustle and bustle.

I am from Edinburgh and I didn't know this place existed even though it is only 30 mins away!

We went as 2 families with 3 adults and 2x 7-year-old children for a long weekend. We had an amazing time!! the kids absolutely loved the area. They got to play with the chickens, goats, fed the Alpacas, and go for long walks around the area and on the beach, with no complaining!! The area is stunning and the beach was really quiet despite the weather being really good.

We were in TreeHouse 4, which comes with a small granny flat beside the main treehouse. Nice and romantic. The main treehouse has a nice kitchen and when the stove is on the heat is wonderful, we spent hours playing board games in here as it was so warm. there is then a bedroom with a double bed on the bottom and a single above, then a bedroom off this one with a double bed. There is then the bathroom with a surprisingly good shower!

We spoke with a couple in the beach villas and they had a different layout from ours but they were loving their weekend too.

It was amazing having a long weekend without Wifi and the kids (and adults) never missed their technology. We had such a relaxing time we have already started planning our next trip.

2 small families stayed in Treehouse 5 and found it to be exactly what we were looking for. Treehouse was clean and well layed out with excellent cooking and showering facilities. Cooking on the woodburning stove took a bit of getting used to but worked perfectly well once you got used to it and it kept the place warm. Also had enough mod cons to make a comfortable stay (running hot water and fridge). It was 10 mins walk to the beach and a lovely beach too. Plenty to do locally (with a 4yr old). We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend to others.

We had a great week at the treehouse. It is ideally situated for days out along the coast. Would be great for young families as the kids would love it. Beach is a 5min walk over the dunes and is spectacular. Only slight problem is the light switch for the bedrooms and bathroom all being on the one switch. Apart from that its great.

We spent a magical long weekend at Harvest Moon, staying in Treehouse 6. The location is breathtaking, with a superb (and usually nearly deserted) beach just 10 mins walk away and beautiful woodland and fields in all directions. Perfect for sandcastles, kite flying, exploring and rockpooling. The Treehouse was the stuff of childhood dreams - kids loved the swings and the hammock, toasting marshmallows round the firepit and climbing trees around the Treehouse. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming and instantly made us feel at home. The beds were clean and comfy, the shower hot and the heaters kept the bedrooms snug even when it was chilly and blowing a howling gale outside! The wood burning stove meant the kitchen space was toasty and the deck was perfect for both watching wildlife and enjoying a G&T in the evening sun! Kids especially loved feeding the alpacas and walking over the fields to the cabins site to pet the pygmy goats. They want to move in permanently! We all loved it - will definitely be back.

We loved the location and remote feel of the treehouse. We enjoyed cooking meals on the wood stove and cosying up in the evenings for dinner and looking out at the sunset and beautiful expansive sky with Bass Rock in the distance.
Chris was really helpful and on hand with any questions or issues we had. The shower was a little temperamental but we managed!

Two grandparents, two adults and two children all got together for five days in this excellent location. The treehouses, as well as being quirky, were well designed to optimise the space.
We sat out on the decking with an excellent view of the Bass Rock. The children enjoyed the chickens running about and feeding the alpacas!
If it got chilly, the Wood-burning Aga soon warmed up the living area.
The bedding was clean and fresh.
The staff were helpful and friendly. We used the honesty shop and we all loved the fire pit where we cooked marshmallows and other delights.
Wood was freely available.
It is a dream spot for local amenities, such as East Links Country Park which was quite pricey but we were there all day. North Berwick and Dunbar are lovely little towns and we found eating out widely available not just there but in East Linton also. The beach at Tyningham was beautiful and not very busy.
We booked this holiday with an Itison voucher and it was a brilliant break for all three generations! We hope to come back!

Overall good stay, we loved the location. With COVID was expecting it to be cleaner E.g we found hair slide on shelf in bedroom so can’t have been cleaned. We absolutely loved our stay in a treehouse at Harvest Moon. The treehouse accommodation was just perfect and the location is stunning. Our kids loved the animals, the staff are friendly, but the highlight of our stay was the beach. That beach is undoubtedly one of the best in the UK and practically deserted, I fell in love with it. The area is beautiful with loads to do. We will definitely return.

A wonderful holiday for us all. My two children loved the tree house and the outdoors. We loved the chickens and swing and the location. The beach and view is amazing.
My wife and I loved it all and especially were grateful to the friendly staff, particularly Chris and Gary when went out of their way to help out.
The only thing I can think to improve things is to have separate bins for recycling to make this easier.

The place was not great - the design and layout made a very awkward living space with really badly thought out bits like having light switch for 2nd bedroom in the 1st bedroom. having to go outside to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms - having to walk through first bedroom to go to 2nd bedroom! No sound insulation between walls meaning if someone is snoring then you cant sleep!!
No Wifi!!!!!!! What?? in this day and age when its so cheap to install??? Wifi is now an amenity like tap water - people need it!!
we had brought a salmon wellington however no temp guage on the oven so couldnt cook it!
No hot water! place was pretty dirty - under the oven particularly gross....
no storage space!! Constantly tripping over bags/suitcases
not suitable for babies! not safe for them to crawl around
Very cheaply made and doesnt look like they comply to planning standards....

People clearly didn’t look at what they booked, started kicking off about a lack of WiFi, when it says clearly on the site that it’s a back to nature glamping experience. There is hot water and insulation and you saw the layout on the website. It’s glamping accommodation and passes all of the relevant requirements.

We are just home after the best week in Treehouse number 7. Chris was extremely welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The treehouse is well equipped, with everything you need for cooking (I'd recommend getting the fire pit and pot to cook outside, too). We brought extra dish towels this time around, as well as lots of cleaning products, but the hygiene and ability to social distance here is great. The kids love the bunk beds in the treehouse, and having their own set of swings outside.

The location is excellent, with hundreds of acres of beach and forest. The beach must be East Lothian's best kept secret, as there's hardly a soul on it and it is pristine. The kids enjoyed sledging down the sand dunes, and rock pooling. We also enjoyed climbing North Berwick Law, walking the old Longniddry to Haddington rail path, and the fairy walk at Archerfield - all within 15mins drive.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to families, with little or big children. Thanks again for another wonderful stay - we have already booked for next summer!

We had a fabulous time at the treehouse - the swings, campfires , warm showers , cosy wood burning stove, fabulous views to the Bass Rock, watching the geese and gannets, and all so close to the gorgeous stretch of beach which was always quiet. The girls loved body boarding and sand sledging. The staff were kind and very helpful. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Harvest moon treehouse. Treehouse was well thought out and all utensils we needed were provided. Tap under treehouse was very useful with children back and forth to the beach. Beach was amazing and we often felt like we had it all to ourselves. Children were a little disappointed that they couldn’t collect the eggs but staff explained why. Also that the goats were quite a walk away. The site was quiet and private. We would definitely like to come back.

Accommodation could have been a lot cleaner, especially in the current climate.

Needs a bit of updating (blinds/curtains need replacing etc)

This is our 3rd year of staying at Harvest Moon holidays. The Treehouses are in a fantastic location and staff are very friendly and helpful.
You have the advantage of access to an amazing beach and the benefit of being surrounded by farm animals and wildlife too. Quite unique really.
For this kind of holiday comfort in the Treehouses is good but I think if you want more than this it’s not your choice of holiday!
The Honesty Shop is great as are the free supply of logs for fires. As a family group we had a really great holiday as demonstrated by the fact that we have been 3 years running!!

We've just come back from a wonderful week long break which was an idyllic balance of rustic charm and home comforts. It's a great location falling out of your door and into woodland walks, and the beach about 5-10mins over a dune. The real joy though was my 6-yr-old daughter being able to safely enjoy a free-range existence on the site making new friends and playing out until bed-time! We loved the local towns and villages as well so will definitely be booking again for next year.

We loved our holiday at Harvest Moon. The team were friendly and always available, and Chris and Gary gave generously of their time. Minor issues in the treehouse were sorted promptly without fuss. We loved having a chicken, and watching the sunset whilst cooking marshmallows over the fire pit.
The location is stunning. Views from our Treehouse (#3) were beautiful, over the sand dunes and to Bass Rock. It's a short walk to a stunning and quiet beach. In the second week of our stay children from different Treehouses met and played together which was an added bonus (apparently even easier on the beach hut site as there is more of a communal central area). Thank you team and we hope to be back!

Had a lovely family week. We all enjoyed the freedom that the site offered my grandchildren and they loved the chickens and goats. The treehouse was well appointed, the wood burning cooker very efficient and the fact that there are electric sockets was a real bonus. The weather was generally kind and we were treated to some spectacular sunsets over Bass Rock.

Enjoyed our stay but not as comfortable or ‘glamorous’ as expected. A bit tired. Shower system very poor and unreliable from running too hot to too cold at short notice. . Could do with individual bbq’s at each treehouse rather than just being able to hire a cooking pot for use on the fire pit or having to cook in the communal area which wasn’t ideal coming out of lockdown.

We booked a tree house. After lockdown this was such s welcome experience. The children had so much fun on the swings, playing in the sea, playing football and feeding the alpacas. The kitchen was very well equipped even with Champagne glasses! It was lovely to cook food on the wood burning stove but a welcome relief to have a kettle and toaster too.....Thank you for a truly magical experience.
