We LOVED our stay in this spacious house and Sandra and Paul were always on hand if we had any questions. The house is beautifully presented and laid out in a lovely location in Inver and so close also to Portmahomack - where we spent so much of our time in our very sunny holiday week - couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather! We would definitely recommend this holiday let for anyone wanting to explore the Highlands east and west - it was just lovely.
We stayed here for a week and cannot fault the accommodation, everything you need for an enjoyable holiday
We love this area around Dornoch and this year did not disappoint . The beaches are fabulous for families as is the wildlife spotting and places of interest.
Lovely little cottage with great outdoor patio space. We wished we could have had the courtyard studio with the patio doors with the sun shining down in the evening but the Garden Studio was just as lovely.
This small but perfectly formed "wee hoose" is in a perfect position within a few minutes walk from the City centre, with off street secure parking and everything you would need for a short break. The booking process was simple and straight forward, the service was first class.
The old library provided everything we needed for a family holiday in the Highlands. The house was spotlessly clean, extremely well-equipped and comfortable for our group of 5 adults. Alison (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful with flexibility with check in/out times, info about the local area and a generous welcome pack. The house is perfectly located, minutes away from Brora beach, a CO-OP, a pub, and good selection of places to eat.
This is the perfect base for exploring Inverness and the Highlands. Well located in a quiet residential area but minutes away from the town centre. Well equipped and welcoming.
When we first arrived we noticed how clean and quiet the site was then we parked up along side the caravan and opened the door the fresh smell of lemon was lovely, on a whole the caravan was spotless and very comfortable very enjoyable holiday
We had a wonderful four days at Dell view cottage. Weather glorious. Could not recommend this property highly enough. Spotlessly clean, spacious, light and warm and cosy. Very well established kitchen, cooker easy to use. Dishwasher, washing machine. Comfy sofas and welcoming hall. There is plenty of cupboard space and a lovely big bathroom. The owners had gone to great trouble to make their guests welcome. Everything you needed to feel at home. Would love a longer holiday next year in this delightful cottage. A big thank you to the owners.
Lovely property, ideal location. Spacious and well facilitised. Recently renovated to a high standard
The property was excellent immaculate warm and comfortable lovely owners vy helpful there if you need them we will be returning nxt spring
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at No 1 The Stags Head. We found the caravan to be of a very high standard, well appointed and well equipped, also spotlessly clean. The central heating ensured we were cosy and comfortable bed too. Had the weather been better we’d have enjoyed sitting out on the deck with the view of the sea in the distance. Pitgrudy Holiday Park is a lovely quiet site which is well maintained. Although we didn’t walk into Dornoch this week we certainly would in better weather. A great location to explore the north east by car and loads of local walks and wildlife watching clos...more
Perfect location, beautiful accommodation! Lovely welcome basket with local cuisine left by host for arrival. Stunning views from house. Will be staying again soon hopefully!
Stayed here as I was working in the area for 2 weeks , lovely place lovely caravan , will book again
Hands down one of the best properties we have stayed in. Excellent all round quality and the welcome pack of local foods was really a nice surprise.
Beautiful traditional stone cottage, delightful garden with a lovely sun room, excellent location so close to the town, the sea and the golf courses.
we found the appartment, very clean and tidy, in a good location in as very close to the town center. very quite . the veiw over the river was lovely . only down side was the stairs. but having said that it got easier as time went on.
From arrival to departure this was a most pleasing experience, so much so that I can say this was the best 'holiday house' we as a family have ever had and will certainly return in the near future.
Caravan was spotless and very spacious situated on a lovely plot on the site. The site is very well kept and fantastically positioned for touring round the North of Scotland. We will definitely return to this caravan.
We had a fabulous week in Dornich staying at Raasay Cottage. It had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. It was an excellent base for touring and walking in the area. Nicola was extremely helpful in returning a couple of items we left behind. We would definitely recommend Raasay Cottage to others and will hopefully be back ourselves some time.
Zenka is without doubt the most comfortable accommodation anyone could wish for.Everything is of an amazing standard.I would recommend Zenka to anyone.
Enjoyed our stay, the apartment has a central location in the heart of Dornoch, modern lovely apartment. Beautiful town in the Highlands.
Stayed once again in Apartment 301. Feels almost like coming home now! View and location fantastic. Although comfort touches like cushions have been removed because of coronavirus precautions we had everything we needed. Great to have dedicated parking space under the building although as the driver this time I found it rather narrow. Mercury services were hugely helpful when I contacted them with a couple of queries.
On the Beach is one of the best places we have stayed in across the whole UK. The views are stunning, the beach amazing and the actual house filled our every need. Our dog loved the luxury of a warm outside shower following a sandy run on the beach . Lots of places to visit locally. Brilliant in every way..see you again soon!!
Apt 8, The Granary is a great holiday home; exceptionally clean and well equipped and with great views over the sea. Helpful owners, very happy with our stay. Some great coastline to explore, interesting castles, distilleries etc. Banff itself is a bit run down, which is a shame, but a good base to visit the area.
We spent 5 days in October at 9 Argyle Place and found the accommodation to be of a very high standard, extremely clean and well equipped. The booking process , checking in/checking out were easy and friendly. The apartment is in a good central location with very good parking and access to both shops and beach. Would highly recommend and hope to return.
This is a very convenient location right in the heart of Dornoch and only a short stroll to the many restaurants. The owners are extremely helpful. The flat is finished to a high standard. The kitchen is tiny, very well equipped though I don’t know how one could cook a meal in such a cramped space! We intended to eat out anyway. If two couples stayed it would seem even more cramped as only 2 chairs are accessible around the kitchen table. One other point, the occupants of the first floor bedroom have to walk down about 4 steps to access the loo, then along the hallway. Ok if you are young...more
Really lovely stay here. Accommodation is lovely. Spacious and well equipped. Kitchen well appointed and loads of equipment of you fancy doing a lot of cooking. Gorgeous garden - plenty space for the kids to run about. Parasol was really needed this week as the sun was blazing. Really great to have this for shade - thank you. A very peaceful area, relaxing and gave us a much needed break. Wee minor point is we had to clean out the BBQ when we arrived. Was full of coals and hadn’t been cleaned but we did it and cleaned dour after ourselves too easy for the next folks. Lovely Stay and wo...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Moray Park It's very clean the beds are very comfortable, amazing shower and has everything you need. Would stay here again if back in area wouldn't bother looking for anywhere else.
The Penthouse in Castlefield Apartments is without doubt the best self-catering accommodation I have stayed in. It is clean, spacious, bright and very comfortable with good quality furnishings, bedding and luxurious towels. It is very well equipped with everything (and more!) you need for your stay. It’s location is excellent - close to two restaurants/bars and an Asda store. Taxis into the centre of Inverness are readily available and very competitively priced. Absolutely fantastic!
We had a lovely holiday in Brora staying at Rowan House. The house is very generous in size and feels very high end. Its location is ideal for Brora village and fantastic beach as well as local distilleries and other villages. We required help on the day we were arriving and this was provided very promptly and efficiently.
A fantastic, well fitted apartment near to Inverness city centre. Spotlessly clean, adhering to all Covid criteria. Claire is a most professional, efficient and helpful host.
We absolutely loved our time at Woodlands - upon arrival we discovered that Norma had left fresh milk and shortbread, which was most welcome after our journey! The caravan was immaculate and well laid out - we had more than enough room. Norma was on hand to provide anything extra we needed: whether it was a travel bath for the baby or some laundry tablets. The location was great - we were within 20 mins of everywhere we wanted to go. We would definitely try and stay here again.
We couldn't have asked for more with our wee holiday at Lower Whinhill. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property. Great amenities. Very accomodating owners. Lovely area. Would definately recommend to others.
I loved our stay at Caledon and will try and book this house again in the future. We have stayed in lots of houses in Aviemore over the years. This one was a perfect location and with excellent modern facilities. Very clean when we arrived. Enclosed garden which makes all the difference when you have four legged friends with you. Loved it!
We've been coming to Maple Cottage Apartment for years now. Lovely accommodation in a great location. Lovely people.
We had a lovely four nights at Hedgefield apartments. Cannot find any faults during our stay. When we had a problem it was sorted out without any fuss.
Pitgrudy is a quite, clean park, 5 minutes from Dornoch village, with lots to do, and a superb beach. The accommodation was clean, tidy and very warm, with all the home comforts, the only thing that it might benefit from would be more plates, cutlery etc, as although it caters for 4 people, with the luxury of a dishwasher, we felt guilty at the thought of putting it on, and so always washed them by hand every day!! - a week was not long enough.
This apartment was ideally positioned. Tesco front door 2 minutes walk and the city centre roughly 5 minutes. The house had everything we needed for our week and was a comfortable base from which to explore the city and the surrounding area. Even being so close to the city centre you could be out on to the road in just a few minutes with a variety of directions in which to head.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A proper home from home. We will definitely book again for our next Aviemore trip.
Cannot recommend highly enough, beautiful location. So peaceful, you can actually hear the waves breaking on the beach a short way away. Lodge was gorgeous and a lovely welcome from the owner. Lots to see and do in the area. Will definitely be heading back
A couple of smaller pans would help. The freezer needs to be defrosted. Otherwise the description in the Booking was fair and accurate. We enjoyed our stay.
House, location and service all excellent. No more nor less than we would expect. We will definitely look to book up again on the future.
We had a lovely stay at The Nook, the hosts had thought of everything - prosecco on arrival, eggs bread and milk in the Fridge. Little touches like that made the stay lovely. The Nook is cosy, and there isn't anywhere to store clothes etc, but that was no issue for us, we were only using The Nook as a base - and spent most of the time out and about. WiFi was a little patchy in places, again no problem for us - but if you were needing to work or anything during the trip this may cause problems. All in all I would highly recommend if you are staying in Inverness.
We loved staying in this place, it was absolutely idyllic and only a few steps away from the beach to go for a walk. Mandy was very nice and welcoming and friendly, and only lived 2min away and was available at any time in case we needed help. We are hoping to come back soon!
We loved our stay in the Fisherman’s cottage. Bigger than it looks in the photos, but so cute. Perfect location and very relaxed atmosphere. Everything you need for a getaway.
We spent 4 weeks in the apartment. It is bright, fresh and spacious. It was an easy commute for work and perfect working from home with strong Wi-fi and a sunny spot at the dining table. There is always easy parking outside the apartment and very little noise from other residents. Everyone is friendly is says hello when you pass in the car park or doorway. Both the rental company, Gael holidays, and the maintenance people, Mercury, are helpful and responsive. They very kindly agreed a later check out and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We have stayed in a few different p...more
The house was very well appointed, and spotlessly clean. The file provided all the details of how things worked, which is a boon for visitors. Everything in the description provided beforehand was accurate, which is appreciated.
We had a great stay , the house is lovely and roomy, with a huge garden, lovely views and excellent walks from the doorstep. Couldn’t fault it.
It was the third time we have been there, which I suppose says it all. It is in a good location in the centre of Dornoch, with its own parking space. There's a flight of stairs up to the bedroom level on the first floor, and another up to the second floor which has the large sitting/dining area, so in view of the stairs it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. The view from the front is over the central square of Dornoch and is very pleasant. Furnishings are comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. Generally recommended.
Fantastic property, very comfortable and the position of the cottage is idyllic. The property would benefit from a larger TV and a radio. Also a scottish welcome normally includes a pint of milk and a biscuit.
It was our very first time in Highlands and location became huge surprise with close access to the woods surrounding estate. Perfect for dogs owners. Apartment equipped with all things you need for either short and long term stay. The only one slight disadvantage was very slippery bath tube while taking shower and low water pressure, but overall we would come back next year. Entire Inverness area has huge range of activities from museums to long time hiking adventures within 10 min drive. highly recommended for first time visitors in Highlands.
Fantastic highland cottage centrally located in the heart of Dornoch. Cozy home from home cottage that can accommodate four adults comfortably. Great base for exploring local activities including historic village, beaches, walks and world class golf courses. Strathy cottage provides high class accommodation that was a pleasure to enjoy during our holiday stay. Centrally located base as we explored local area including Brora, Bonar Bridge and Portmahomack. Cottage provides excellent accommodation that is perfect for families or couples to explore this highland location.
My wife and I spent 7 days at Achnacary cottage. The cottage is well appointed and has a beautiful view over the Dornoch Firth. The cottage is well situated for touring the NC500 route and we were able to get as far north as John o Groats. Altogether a great holiday and a wonderful cottage
The beautifully decorated and furnished ground floor offsets the limitations imposed upstairs by low ceilings. Everything Dornoch offers is within easy walking distance. Directions to the property need updating.
The best thing is the large picture window overlooking Cromarty Harbour. There is always activity to see, and the mountains provide an ever-changing backdrop. It is west-facing and we saw some stunning sunsets. The apartment itself is clean, tidy and well equipped. It is also more spacious than we expected, and could want no more for week's stay (although a dishwasher would have been nice!). The owners had left some very useful information which we found helpful in planning days out.
We had a great week in Mackay Rd.This is the 10th self catering property I’ve stayed in in Dornoch so know the market really well. Loved the garden and the summerhouse. A few little niggles with the lack of glasses and a tiny cafetière, but nothing that would stop me booking again.
Balorrin is located in a very peaceful location and is ideal for dog walking. A very spacious well maintained bungalow with a large secure back garden overlooking a small wood perfect for our 2 large dogs. Local services are close to hand only 3 miles in either direction with easy access to the main routes for Inverness or Ullapool. If you want to spend time relaxing or being active look no further than Balorrin.
6 adults over a long weekend in October. Lovely property with all the amenities and facilities required for an enjoyable stay. Beautiful location in our favourite place. A few minor issues with the heating and the sauna which were dealt with quickly and satisfactorily by Gilly and which had no impact on our stay. Overall, a perfect reytreat in a perfect place.
We really appreciated this accommodation. There was a homely feeling about it. We enjoyed the setting and could see if we spent longer there were nice walks we could have done. The owners were very friendly but not obtrusive. We will place this accommodation on our list if managed to visit this area again.
We were 3 x couples and particularly wanted 3 bathrooms so this fitted the bill. The apartment is ideally situated, very well equipped and was exactly as described and what we wanted. The view from the balcony is a joy to behold!. There is a lovely walk to the beach and there are some great restaurants in Nairn. Definitely hope to return. Would highly recommend.
Lovely house in a beautiful setting, A great base for exploring the area. It was so peaceful and had space for us all. One of our party had mobility issues so the stairs were a bit of a challenge but we coped!
Third time staying in this accommodation for us . Highly recommend as great location for all you want to do in and around Aviemore . Will def be back !
I just love going there it is lovely we place people are lovely food is great my dog just loves it he just loves the beach so he can just run up and down it
The apartment is conveniently positioned near the centre of the city. Parking no problem because you are provided with a permit to display in your car (remember to put it back!). It was so very neat and clean that it looked like new. We were there on a cold night but the heating system is brilliant, so very cosy. No noise from others in the building, and the street is very quiet. Although the railway is nearby you hardly hear the trains, and at night there are very few trains anyway. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there was a starter half pint of milk to go with the free tea and coffee....more
This is a beautiful, cosy and well-equipped traditional cottage just 100 yards from the beach in this picturesque former fishing village. We had a lovely stay. The cottage and the area are just perfect. We'd go again.
This is the third time we have stayed here and once again not disappointed. Very clean and fresh. Very comfortable
My wife and I went up to the Old Chandlery for a week to finish off our Ruby Wedding Celebrations. We love the Black Isle and used to go each year. COVID had stopped this. The location looked excellent and the Vista was wonderful at most times of the day. The road outside was exceptionally busy however so for small kids I would watch them. The accommodation was very good and we had a great stay. local takeaways and Scotmid are within minutes' walk. The sofas are a wee bit tired but the beds were comfy and the accommodation was warm. The kitchen was slightly small but adequate for the two of us...more
Wonderful property stayed while waiting to move into our new home. The only thing we would change is to have king size quilts. The reason is hubby wraps himself up in the quilt and I'm left with none ha ha.
Very lovely holiday apartment in a great location with nice views of the Cromarty firth, just a dozen steps from the beach. Everything you need for a stay by the seaside, this has to be the cleanest holiday cottage we have stayed in. Very quiet and peaceful off season, just what was needed. Will certainly be back.
The apartment is modern and clean. The location is wonderful for easy access to the city and yet quiet. It’s great to have parking outside. The only issues are that the shower is just a trickle and the kettle lid is broken. The bed is comfortable. I’d book to stay here again if coming to Inverness.
Overall, flat 7 Grampian Road, Aviemore is a good, modern, comfortable apartment in a great location, that largely worked very well for us and as a result we had a great time there. It is well kitted-out, cosy and very conveniently located for so many different things. It is also reasonably priced and good value for money. A few minor items should be addressed though, to optimise the appearance and overall experience. The kitchen sink tap wouldn't shut off properly and constantly dripped. The toilet sink was a touch loose and wobbly, as was the toilet seat. Whilst the outside balcony is lo...more
The home is very homely with great facilities. We could walk to town and there was a great bakery round the corner for fresh pastries. Plenty of room to park our car.
A well positioned and comfortable modern house in Dornoch. Lots of parking and easy access to town via the cut through to the Meadows to the right of the house. House was well appointed and comfortable. I slept very well as it was lovely and quiet. The heating was set a little cool. However it was easy to warm up with the Nest control, just meant you had to wait to warm up when getting up or coming in. It wasn't warm enough to sit outside but there was a good sized secure garden with seating. I would stay here again and recommend it.
Excellent apartment, everything was perfect accept the quilt on the bed was to thick therefor to hot to sleep.
We enjoyed a five night stay here with our family. The accommodation was very clean and spacious and well equipped. It was within walking distance of the town centre. It was, however, disappointing to arrive and find there was no soap or sanitiser provided. The shower was partly broken and held up with duct tape which meant we were unable to move the shower head up to a comfortable height. With a street light right outside the window of the master bedroom it would be good to install a blind behind the curtains as the room was never very dark.
Great location right across from the sea. The cottage was lovely, clean and cosy with a wood burner which we used every night. Very comfortable bed and very quiet. The cottage was well equipped (although you may want to bring a hairdryer if you need one) We’d go back in an instant.
Wonderful spacious, immaculate, comfortable and well- equipped accommodation in a great location with parking in central Inverness.
Generally a good location in a mostly well maintained apartment (one or two niggles in that area). Main gripe was car parking, where another person chose to use our parking space (208) as he was either too inexperienced or too clumsy to use the one allocated to him (206) being close to a wall. Also, a nearby bar was very noisy with drunkenness. Unlikely we'll stay there again.
An apartment would not have been our first choice , but due to limited availability we booked it and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a spacious apartment with all the amenities you would expect . We would definitely stay there again
We had a fabulous stay at Delmhor No.3. The place was super cleanly and the hot tub amazing. We had an issue with hot water running out quickly/easily but Jayne the owner quickly got someone out to rectify. Sadly this did happen again later also, as it was our last night we just left it. Would recommend.
We had a really good family holiday at Armadale House. Very much looking forward to coming back again and doing it again next year. The house is bright and comfortable and in a great location for those looking for some peaceful time away with children to play on the beach and for coastal walks. The village is friendly and has a very good local shop and cafes.
Enjoyed our stay. The house was really well equipped. Close to the town centre. Small enclosed garden, fantastic for our dog.
Well located cottage and it was very comfortable for our family break. Big garden but we never used the hot tub. I would recommend it.
This is a stunning cottage with a stunning view. Warm, clean, comfortable and has all the amenities required to have a superb time. Gairloch is close by for restaurants if you don’t want to cook. Sitting in the conservatory just watching the world, is fantastic
Comfortable, well equipped, spacious apartment in a great location close to all amenities and with views over the River Ness and the Castle. Secure basement parking essential in a busy city. If we visit Inverness again would be happy to stay here. Can highly recommend.
Loved our 3 night stay in 206. Apartment great (as usual) This is our eighth year staying,so I think I that says it all.
We had a wonderful stay. Only 2 small complaints. There were 7 of us but only 6 kitchen chairs and the blinds were broken in the living area. We had to stand on a seat and roll them up and down manually. This has been mentioned in previous reviews so I would have thought they would be fixed. Otherwise the home was perfect for us. Great location for walking the dog, a few of us walked into aviemore, too far for our elderly mum but great for us. Would definitely stay here again x
We had a great holiday in Cromarty. Ivydene Cottage is a lovely, cosy and comfortable place to stay. It is very well equipped with everything you need. Very well located in the village. This was our 2nd stay in this property and we booked up again for next year on the same day we returned from our visit.
Blarmore Studio has been godsent for our move from North Wales to Inverness during the coronavirus lockdown operating in both countries. Without a stable, comfortable and convieniently located place to shift to for my husband with multiple health issues and I, it would have been a very stressful period. The landlady and the agency have been very safety conscious and the apartment is well stocked and all appliances are available that make staying here very comfortable and easy for shopping. Public transport is also a few metres away.
This is a lovely flat in a great location. The accommodation was perfect for us and we will definitely stay again. Everything was really clean, modern and fresh. We could walk into town and round to the local bakery and deli for croissants and lunch. It was a last minute booking with Gael Holidays and it was really easy to book and all the information we got through was excellent.
On arrival we felt that the cottage just didn’t seem what we expected from images. First of all there is a road very close and several nearby houses. Not least of which is the building site thirty yards away. The grounds are not kept or landscaped so although there is a bit of ground, it isn’t as usable as it could be. There were no outdoor accessories such as chairs or tables. The location is peaceful enough and beautiful, highlighted if the weather is right for you. We really missed the setting it has to be said. Inside things are similar. Beautiful style and appreciated by Mackintosh ...more
A spacious, modern, well maintained, well equipped, tastefully decorated apartment, located within easy walking distance of the city centre. Allocated parking and views across the river. Good wifi. Minor negatives - tv has freeview but no streaming service. There is a DVD player - maybe just my lack of ability but I couldn’t get it to turn on. Lounge clock needs batteries. Would I stay here again / recommend to others? Without hesitation!
Great stay beautiful lodge everything supplied including towels ,quiet area but easy assessable to shops and main street
Beautiful park clean and tidy caravan beautiful would stay again. Staff were very nice too and welcoming
We were pleased with the accommodation and we’re only the second people to be in the house. It is very easy to find, very handy for the shops and restaurants. The petrol station cakes really hit the spot. The house was well prepared and any issues were very quickly addressed. Would certainly return when coming back.
The lodge is in a excellent location with fabulous views. Our only suggestions to improve this lodge would be much better mattresses and more lamps in main area so you don’t have to have the harsher overhead lights on. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Very clean! About 10 minutes walk to city center! Very well equipped! Nice view to Ness River and good WiFi
Had stayed at the property before so it was a great experience to find that it was still presentable and all that we needed.
Good accommodation, good value, great location- 5 minutes walk to centre. Lovely views of river from windows.
Our family of 5 had a fab stay in this lovely, cosy and reasonably well equipped cottage. Rooms were comfortable with extra towels & bedding supplied if needed. The shower is a bit neat & water pressure poor but we managed fine regardless. The kitchen could possibly have done with more cleaning inside fridge & cupboards but there was plenty of cleaning products supplied I was able to deal with this myself. We had a fantastic welcome pack on arrival, setting us up for our stay well. The only things missing were a long handle sweeping brush, a washing basket & more pegs, a few more bowls in ...more
A very enjoyable week in Clamhan Cottage. In a beautiful location, with lovely walks straight from the door. Well equipped with everything you need. Cosy, comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms. Beautifully decorated bedrooms. Single glazed windows throughout except bathroom which is double glazed. Condensation on windows and rooms don't stay warm after the fire or the heating is off. Hot water tap in the bathroom is not fixed properly so moves round when you turn it off or on. Shower screen leaks and needs replaced. I see there is a new one in the cupboard under the stairs so probably...more
The slanting roof upstairs in the bathroom could be an issue if you wanted to use the bath as it sits under the slant and could be awkward getting in and out
