A room with a View! This most certainly is the case with Waleric House (pronounced Valeric). Sleeping 6, this gorgeous converted cottage is just behind the main street of quirky Alnmouth village with stunning views of the Estuary, leading out to sea. Less than a 5-minute walk to the beach, this gorgeous modern house has been imaginatively and stylishly designed to make the most of the space. With an enclosed garden, a full balcony from the master room, a large wood-burning stove, 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, as well as being pet-friendly with up to 3 dogs welcome, this is an idyllic escape in all seasons. Wonderfully comfortable home. Alnmouth is the perfect beach holiday for all ages. Grab a coffee and a Nata from Scott’s and head to the beach.
The house has everything you will need. It was great to open the doors on the garden as we had good weather.
Beds are comfortable. Nothing negative to say. Host very friendly and good welcome pack and special cake for our 40th wedding anniversary.

Beautiful house just behind the main street in Alnmouth. Everything spotlessly clean. Very nice welcome hamper provided. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Bathroom immaculate with nice big soft towels. Very short walk to the beach which is dog friendly. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the village, would heartily recommend The Sun, great food and friendly staff. All in all a great stay in a great house.

We love Almouth and Waleric house was the perfect house for us. Its location was wonderful so near the beach and shops. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. We enjoyed the space and brightness of the house. We shall be back next year.

This is the second time that we have stayed in Waleric House in Alnmouth and again were not disappointed. It is a stunning house with a beautiful feel to it that created a superb base for our stay. Everything was provided and thoughtful touches made it feel a home from home. Communication with Coquet cottages was excellent as always and they are the best we have booked with.
Alnmouth is rather quiet at this time of year and a few pubs and shops were closed but this doesn’t detract from a fabulous few days of long walks with the dogs and cosy nights in front of the fire.
Another great visit!

The house was ideal for 3 couples and their dogs. The garden is enclosed and safe for dogs. The house itself was really well appointed and comfortable.

We had a wonderful family stay at Waleric House. The location is outstanding, just a short walk to the beach. The house is equipped with everything one could need and very comfortable. Car parking can be an issue if in a larger car, although we found it no problem at the time of year we visited. Our host, Joanna, was so helpful providing local tips and answering any questions immediately. We would highly recommend Waleric House to explore the wonderful Northumberland coast.

We stayed as a family of six and three dogs our third time in Alnmouth first at Waleric house and it’s was excellent. The house waseverything and more than we expected the welcome hamper and the lovely scones to start. We had a fantastic week and the dogs loved the beaches.

This is a beautiful house tucked away in a lovely village. A 5 min walk gets you on the beach which is not a busy beach usually occupied by other walkers. The house is great for dogs, blankets, towels,bowls all provided and there is a decent size enclosed garden and the bi- fold doors give you easy access to the garden.
This was our 2nd stay and won't be our last.

We have just enjoyed an amazing week celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. Waleric House provided the perfect accommodation for the 5 of us as it was large enough for everyone to have their own space but a really well equipped communal cooking, eating, chilling area - exactly what we wanted.
The location in Alnmouth meant we were next door to a great Delicatessen, take out coffee every morning!!! the dogs (and all of us) loved the access to the beach and the costal walks.
I would not hesitate to recommend Waleric House to anyone, Joanne went over and above what was expected to make us feel welcome, particularly the added Birthday treats - so appreciated!

Having holidayed with Coquet Cottages once before, we had high expectations of the standard of property - this wasn't quite met with Waleric House. It seemed a bit "tired" and "frayed round the edges" and just in need of a bit of TLC and some running repairs. It was generally quite clean (although there were cobwebs in places and some grime around the staircase posts), and it was pretty well equipped and comfortable. The welcome pack was amazing and definitely exceeded our expectations, and we liked Alnmouth and its lovely beach.
Parking was a nightmare and I think if we'd known this beforehand, we wouldn't have booked. The description states that there is one designated parking space but it's only once you've booked it that they tell you the parking is only suitable for a small car. Actually, the parking space could accommodate a bigger car - the difficulty is in trying to turn from a very narrow lane through a stone archway into the courtyard, which I found impossible in my larger car. There is allegedly free parking on the high street and surrounding roads, but many of these are subject to time restrictions. Other than that, there are lots of marked parking areas around and about but they are in high demand and we struggled at times to find a free space.
Having said this, we did have a lovely time. We enjoyed the views from the master bedroom and the way the sunshine streams into the lounge when you open the west-facing bifold doors. The open-plan nature of the kitchen and lounge is conducive to socialising as a family or group, and the snug made a nice little playroom for our son with his Xbox.

We have stayed several times at Waleric House and it feels comfortable and familiar, but still beautiful. It suits our family down to the ground and the location is excellent. Welcome basket is lovely and the house is just somewhere that is lovely to be. We have already booked for next year.
