This superb 19th-century, stone-built luxury cottage is packed full of character and is located in the centre of picturesque Warkworth Village, just yards from the banks of the pretty River Coquet and the famous Mill and Monks Walks. beautiful bedroom perfect could not have wished for better.the living area a bit gloomy could have used a better lighter coulours to make the most of the light shared courtyard a bit sad bins not emptied.

We do apologise that the bin had not been emptied prior to your stay, we do ask for the bins to be popped out on collection day to avoid overspilling for guests. The property was very cosy and had everything that we needed. We enjoyed our stay very much and would return to the cottage.
Slight issues were that the TV didn't link to the Wi-Fi and we were unable to watch smart TV. The key to the back door was difficult to find. There were no instruction booklets on the digital guide for any appliances. The downstairs window did open due to the creeper outside.

A lovely quirky place to stay in a wonderful location.Overall the majority of the property is spot on our only complaints if any was the tv Netflix should be added and was slow to start. The sofa could also do with replacing. Also the hot water wasn’t very hot you don’t need to turn the cold tap on at all. But yes a nice little place

Regarding the water temperature, Warkworth has an unusually high water pressure, and we advise guests not to turn the tap on full to allow the boiler sufficient time to heat the water. This information is detailed in the digital guidebook for all Warkworth properties as a charming quirk of our historic village. We have stayed in a number of cottages in the area with two or more bedrooms
This was the first in a one bedroom house
The cottage is fabulous from the decor to the facilities ( and the welcome hamper)
The location is ideal for a wander into the village or Along the river bank
As it’s dog friendly this is huge, the only issue was people looking in the window when passing by
But all in all a fantastic 10 days
We tried to book again for Christmas but they are already booked so we are staying next door

This was our 2nd stay in Virginia Cottage and it was just as good as the 1st. Really is home from home with everything you need and more! The welcome hamper had everything we like from essentials to treats. The lemon drizzle cake was delightful! The books containing some really good walks were very useful which we made use of and got to see some amazing sights.

Have stayed at Virginia Cottage once before and it is just right for a couple with dog.
Lovely welcome pack on arrival and Jackie (Owner) very helpful and on hand if needed.Very close to village shop/pubs/amenities and in a quiet walkway between riverside and Main Street.

When viewed the cottage on line we had to book it, what a find, location spot on for everything river at 6 am with dog perfect, 15 min walk to the beach, our dog loves an early morning dip.

Jackie, the owner looked after us very well, I needed her help at the end of our stay, she was over and above helpful.

What a lovely cottage , immaculate , welcoming and great locations
The usual excellent standard we expect from Coquet cottages…with the added bonus of an amazing welcome pack. Fizz, homemade cakes, fresh bread, milk and treats for the dog.
Everything was perfect…slept like babies in the very comfy bed.

Our 9th time staying in Warkworth with coquet cottages, and out 5th time in Virginia cottage. Going to a cottage for Christmas has been on my wishlist for years and finally we did it. The perfect Christmas getaway. Cottage is so cosy. Welcome basket is always fantastic, but the festive treats made it even better. Had some amazing days out in Warkworth, Amble, Alnwick and Craster. Will definitely be back for our 10th visit.

The cottage is super comfortable for two people and a dog. It's handy for all the attractions in Warkworth: walks, restaurants, pubs, shops, etc. The owner has done a great job of making the house welcoming and comfortable.

This was our second stay in Virginia Cottage. The welcome pack included some gorgeous lemon drizzle cake. There were even separate welcome doggy goodies for Stan! Everything was very clean and fresh when we arrived. It is a lovely location, close to the Coquet river bank where there is the lovely stroll to the hermitage and back via the castle. The Mason's Arms is almost too convenient!! The food is very good there, as is the beer. Basically, a week wasn't long enough!

Lovely cottage, village location, good pub just around the corner, serving really nice grub.
Central location for all of Northumberland.
Lots of local walks, both coastal and inland.

A cosy & comfortable cottage for two people! Everything we needed! Good position, close to the river with easy access for both river & beach walks! A lovely welcome basket! Our dog enjoyed the treats left for him as well! Would recommend Virginia Cottage & hopefully will stay there again!

The cottage is well presented and clean. The facilities are excellent. It is very well situated being close to the river side and the town and shops. The welcome hamper was excellent!

The only downside is that it is a little dark during the day.
