The Straw House is a stunning property in a prestigious development at Budle Bay, just over 4 miles from historic Bamburgh. Sleeping 4 guests in 2 bedrooms both with en-suite bath/shower rooms, this superbly-equipped cottage is decorated to the highest standard and is very popular with couples and small families alike. The Straw House welcomes one well-behaved dog, has private parking for 2 cars and an enclosed west-facing patio area. A lovely barn with an enclosed garden for the dog ideally positioned on a quiet barn complex to explore the Northumberland northern coast . Very well equipped, comfortable and spacious . Both bedrooms are a good size with en suites , a welcome pack for included . Would recommend

Great base for exploring Northumberland, loved watching the rabbits and birds from the lounge. Excellent for star gazing too.
V well equipped kitchen. We had a lovely stay.

I found the place very relaxing.
Plenty of storage space all round nice place loved the amenities.

Fantastic location very easy to get to places by car like Holy Island Bamburgh and Alnwick .

The cottage is beautifully appointed in an ideal location. A short drive to the stunning beach at Bamburgh and close to Holy Island. Plenty of excellent places to eat nearby (Apple Inn at Lucker is well worth a visit). Would definitely recommend The Straw House.

A comfortable well furnished property with everything you might need for a week . Quality towels and bedding. Nicely decorated with art including some local scenes. Wood burner was well used in January

We had a wonderful stay here.Spotless and well payed out. We felt so at home. Absolutely everything we needed. The welcome hampers were just a treat. We honestly didn’t want to leave. A central base to all the lovely beaches and villages. We will be back next year. Thanks so much

Having a dog very sensitive to fireworks, Straw house made a lovely location to be away from any booms and bangs. The house is well equipped and very well maintained and welcoming.

The reason for marking comfort at 3 is that the heating to the cottage was set too low. During our stay the temperatures dropped and we found the system was not sufficient to keep the cottage cosy. We were led to believe that the system would stay on until 10.30am and 10.30pm but in fact it was set to go off at 9.30 on both times.
We would recommend this cottage to others but not at this time of the year.

We appreciate your valuable feedback and would like to address your concerns regarding the heating. We apologise for any discomfort you experienced due to the heating being set too low. To ensure a more comfortable stay for our guests, we offer thermostats to control the upstairs bedroom temperatures, located on the first floor landing. Additionally, radiators and towel rails are equipped with adjustable thermostatic valves to accommodate each bedroom's occupants. The pre-set heating level throughout the property is designed for comfort, and the underfloor heating downstairs is controlled by a wall thermostat in the kitchen. This system ensures a consistent 20-degree temperature at all times. We wish we had been informed of your concerns during your stay, as the owner is always available as a first point of contact to address any issues, including assisting with adjusting the heating settings. We hope this experience doesn't deter you from returning to Northumberland in the future. We would be delighted to welcome you back and ensure a more comfortable stay at The Straw House.

An excellent property within reach of several places of interest. Just sorry we could only stop 5 days due to my poor health we had to return home. The owner was very helpful with medical information .
