The Sewing Room is a beautifully restored property in the heart of arty Alnmouth Village. Once home to a famous writer who referred to the property as 'The Sewing Room', this gorgeous retreat is the perfect bolthole for 4 guests. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the living space is open plan giving a social and light and airy feel. There is a little courtyard at the front and access is shared with the main house, Carriage House, situated on the main street. The Sewing Room is set behind the main street, hidden away with privacy from all car and foot traffic. Electric 'wood burning effect' fire. Free Wi-Fi and digital guidebook.

We had a fab time in the Sewing Room. It’s in the heart of Alnmouth but so cosy, stylish and has its own sheltered and private courtyard. Lovely showers, comfy sofas and all that you need for a pleasant stay. It’s one of the nicest cottages I’ve stayed in - and I’ve stayed in many! Would deffo return.

We had a lovely week in the Sewing Room. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped and in a great location in the village. Almouth is a fabulous place for a holiday with great walks and many places to visit. Highly recommend the cottage and the village

Very enjoyable stay, the Sewing Room ideally located for easy access to the beach, lovely walks and excellent deli and a good choice of pubs and restaurants. Only 10 mins drive from plenty of supermarkets and loads of interesting places to visit. We particularly enjoyed Bamburgh and Warkworth Castles and the gardens at Alnwick. Golf course just a few minutes away.

This was our third visit to The Sewing Room, and as that suggests we love the place. It's very comfortable and beautifully maintained. It has a wonderful location moments from the beach and is perfectly placed as a base for exploring the Northumberland coast and countryside.

This property lacked a few items of equipment such as kitchen scissors, mixing bowl and was not quite as clean as on our previous visit.

A lot smaller than the online photographs , probably better for 2 people.
No space for food other than the fridge.
The main bedroom window rattled all of the first night because of the wind so was a disturbance but we managed to ‘fix it’
The electric ‘log fire’ was very noisy.
Otherwise a lovely cottage and the owners did text to see if we had arrived ok.

Cosy, well-equipped cottage in a peaceful and secluded location but within easy reach of wonderful dog walks, long bike rides and welcoming country pubs.

Lovely clean quiet cottage situated in centre of Alnmouth.
Comfy beds with immaculate linen. Kitchen is very well equippped.
We parked outside cottage all weekend even though we were out and about in the car.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage for all seasons. Cosy inside, but also a beautiful courtyard garden which caught the autumn sun.

Great location and great venue for our 4 generation family holiday. We booked the Carriage House too and the shared outdoor space was perfect for sunny evenings.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sewing Room. The house was immaculate and offered everything we needed. When we arrived, we weren’t sure where the house was, as you have to go through some large gates and a bin area in order to access a small courtyard behind. However, the house and courtyard garden were delightful and offered a peaceful and safe haven for us and our dog. The beach was a two minute walk and there was a great choice of eateries, although prior booking was essential.
My only gripe was the mattress in the main bedroom was quite soft. Apart from this, an excellent place to stay.

The Sewing rooms is a gorgeous little cottage right in the centre of the action in Alnmouth, the beach is a stones throw away as are the shops and local restaurants.
Everything you would need for a short break was provided and the cottage was to a very high standard. The only downside is how expensive it was for a long weekend but alas it was comparable to other accommodation of a similar standard.
