The Mill Stone is nestled in the idyllic village of Warkworth, in a peaceful location just 25 minutes walk to the golden sandy beach, and 10 minutes walk to the impressive medieval Warkworth Castle, and all amenities, cafes, and pub restaurants in the village centre. The cottage sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, with one en-suite shower room and a family bathroom. There is private, off-road parking for 1 car, a wood-burning stove in the cosy lounge, and a pretty, south and east-facing patio garden. Free Wi-Fi. Children over 12 years old welcome. Pet-free property. Free digital guidebook.

We visited this lovely little cottage for the first time after many years of visiting Warkworth and it didn’t disappoint.

It was spotlessly clean and cozy with all the amenities we would want.

The hosts were friendly and helpful and made our stay private and accessible to them if need be.

It felt like an oasis of calm and tranquility at a time when we felt we needed a break.

The fact that they don’t allow dogs was also very helpful as I have an allergy to dogs and I can always feel it in whatever place I visit regardless of cleanliness. This felt so clean and fresh.

Would thoroughly recommend.

We have used Coquet cottages for many years in this area of Northumberland due to the continued high standard of properties. The Millstone is an outstanding example of this due of course to the hard work and attention to detail provided by the owners who conveniently live next door. The property was in a superb state of cleanliness on arrival, welcome pack and flowers the best we have had supplied. Every amenity was provided for your use and so comfortable furnishings and beds. The location is ideal as a base for any activity and places to eat out abound.
We always use dog free properties and were glad this had that criteria, its well maintained outside space was also a plus.
Have no doubt we will return to this property again in the future.

Out first stay in this beautiful cottage in a peaceful, quiet location but within easy reach of the coast and countryside of Northumberland. The owners have thought of everything needed to make our stay perfect, from the amazing welcome hamper to the comfort and feel of the cottage. The garden was lovely, a real sun trap on the patio and as we had lovely weather this was a bonus.
We will definitely be back as have stayed with Coquet cottages for many years and this cottage rates among the best.

Thank you for a lovely stay in The Mill Stone. A wonderful place to come back to after a day out in the cold but sunny weather. The owners have taken great care and thought in making their cottage 100% perfect. Thank you again.

This is a beautiful holiday cottage, a real home from home. The kitchen is very well equipped with all modern conveniences. However a separate freezer would be useful especially for the summer months as there is only a freezer box in the fridge. The living/dining area is comfortable and having Netflix on the TV was very welcome. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also very comfortable with lovely bedlinen and towels. Both showers were of a good size and there was adequate hanging and drawer space for clothes. Lots of electric sockets in convenient places, this is not always the case. Although we didn't meet the owners they were on hand should it have been necessary.

Excellent accommodation. Very clean, spacious, good location, good facilities. Only one small concern: the central heating thermostat was set too low at 18.5 degrees. This would not really be a problem in summer, but in December with snow on the ground outside and freezing conditions overnight it was too low. Whilst it could be turned up manually it always defaulted to this low temperature. Seems a bit "penny-pinching" and not in keeping with the cost of cottage hire.

Fabulous place to stay. Lovely to meet the owners & neighbours - Lesley & Dennis, who were on hand if we needed them but respectful of our privacy.
The courtyard is a real suntrap and a great place to sit and have breakfast or tea in the afternoon.
Lovely to just be able to spot the sea at the end of the lane.
Really impressed with the quality and condition of the furniture and furnishings - best we've seen in a long while. We will be using Coquet Cottages again!

Everything has been thought of to make The Mill Stone a wonderful base for exploring the picturesque village of Warkworth and the surrounding area. All weathers are catered for, from a large umbrella in the hall, to comfortable outdoor seating. It was a pleasure to go back to the cottage to relax after a day out. The fresh flowers and welcome pack were both lovely touches and the general attention to detail shows that Lesley and Dennis know what visitors need.
Very often, there is a difference in standard between main bedroom and second bedroom. Not at The Mill Stone! My sister and I were very happy that both bedrooms were of equally excellent standard, one having an en suite shower room, and the other a separate bathroom with walk in shower. Would love to return at some point in the future as it's well worth the long drive.

Well equipped especially the kitchen.

We found our Wonderful Week in Warkworth on the World Wide Web- Coquet Cottages website is fabulous, prepare to be spoiled for choice, of both venues and cottages!

The Mill Stone Cottage details were spot on. We wanted to be near the coast, visit North Northumberland and regularly visit relatives living in Ellington and Morpeth.

Two beautiful bedrooms, with good storage storage space. Two bathroom's one ensuite, main bathroom with bath and walk in shower. ( So many English bathrooms have a shower over the bath which is tricky for many elderly travellers).
A lovely well ‘utensil stocked’ kitchen and a welcoming comfortable lounge. We just wished that we had sussed out the central heating system a little earlier than we did……we had just come off a long flight from New Zealand and found the cottage ‘cool’ for a couple of days.

The UK weather did come to the party eventually and we then utilised the garden and seating area, with sunshine!

Oh, did I mention the club cricket matches on a Wednesday evening, Saturday and Sunday afternoon? Fabulous way to end a stroll from the village pubs, or a weekend afternoon walk around the castle or along the beach….Howzat!
