The Hayloft is a gorgeous stone cottage in the pretty, country village of Chatton. A stone's throw away from the fabulous pub, The Percy Arms, The Hayloft is tucked away just off the main stretch through the village with private parking and a small, lawned garden. The Hayloft sleeps 8 in 4 large, spacious rooms with 3 very spacious bathrooms. It's a topsy-turvy house with a living area upstairs with a wood-burning stove and pretty views over the valley. 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome and free WiFi is included. Free digital guidebook.

My family spent the week here surrounded by comfort .The Hayloft is so well equipped. There is everything you could possibly need. The accommodation was spotlessly clean. The situation was ideal, being easy to get to all the places we wanted to go. The welcome pack was lovely, even treats for the dog!

By far the best holiday home we've stayed in over the last 25 years! Beautifully furnished and lots of thoughtful details ( including a delicious welcome basket). The kitchen was really well equipped - we cooked a roast chicken dinner one day, and found everything needed was there. Amazing. The beds were very comfortable, and the showers were superb. Couldn't fault a thing.

Excellent accommodation we very much enjoyed our stay - lovely village - our meal in the local was not very good, possibly due to lack of staff. Only little niggle with property if anyone still upstairs really quite creaky in bedrooms, easily fixed all to bed at same time.

We really enjoyed our stay at the The Hay Loft. The house has everything you will need, the location is great for the beach and the hills and there's a good pub in the village too.

The Hayloft is a beautifully presented and very comfortable cottage with many thoughtful touches. It was an ideal base for three generations of our family, including a toddler of 17 months. Multiple bathrooms and showers made life very easy, and the property is beautifully furnished and decorated, making it a really pleasant place to stay. It was under 30 mins drive to everywhere we wanted to go (including Bamburgh, Alnwick, the Cheviots), and the village itself is lovely (little shop, park and a great pub in the Percy Arms). We would definitely go back.

This was our first visit to the Hayloft, but hopefully not our last. We had a really enjoyable holiday in a lovely, peaceful location.
The accommodation was everything we hoped it would be; welcoming, comfortable, clean and well equipped, a real home from home. Chatton is in a great location for exploring Northumberland, as well as the Scottish borders. The Hayloft is well equipped with walking guides, books and tourist information that really help guests to choose where to explore.

This is our third visit to this cottage which says it all. It is kept in great condition and spotlessly clean. We love the open plan living area, the owners have made it feel warm and welcoming. The sofas and beds are very comfortable and much appreciated after a long walk.
Little touches we appreciate are the selection of walking books and maps, the tv's with sky cinema, Netflix and amazon prime and the molton brown handwash.
The location we find very convenient for touring around Northumberland and the Scottish borders.

A large, comfortable and well appointed house.

The Hayloft provides a large, spacious house for up to 8 adults. The 'upside down' layout works well and it is warm and well appointed - just what my group of 8 adults needed after a long, enjoyable day walking in the Cheviots. The added attraction is the Percy Arms which serves good food and is only a 5 minute walk from the house. Lots of off road parking spaces and nice outdoor areas, including a BBQ, although, as the outside temperature hovered around 5C during our stay we didn't use them. I would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at The Hayloft as a family group of 7, ages 20 - 86. We had a lovely time staying in this beautiful house. It was very well equipped with everything in the kitchen you could possibly need. There were lots of extras provided such as books, board games and magazines. The welcome basket was fantastic. The towels, bedding etc were all of lovely quality and the lounge very comfortable and welcoming. The views from the lounge were beautiful and the house is in a lovely village.
My only negatives were that I would have liked more comfortable garden furniture, there was a picnic bench in the garden but it was not really suitable for elderly people. Also, there are steps in the house - one step up into the lounge and one step down into the bathrooms - elderly people especially had to take extra care.
Thank you for a great holiday!
