The Gin Gan is a gorgeous property in the prestigious Village Farm development, a peaceful and exclusive honey-stone collection of homes in North Sunderland, immediately adjacent to Seahouses. There's a great pub just a few minutes walk and you can reach the beach in just 15 mins on foot. Seahouses can be reached in 10 minutes on foot where you can find a good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes, as well as a fascinating working harbour. The Gin Gan has an enclosed lawned garden, private parking, EV charger, gas fire, and free-WiFi, as well as welcoming 1 dog. Free digital guidebook.

What a great find; warm, clean and comfortable accommodation. Expectations were high based on the reviews I read when deciding to book and Gin Gan met them. First impressions were excellent based on the exceptional cleanliness and the thoughtful and personalised welcome basket.

The spacious and well equipped kitchen/main living/dining area was so sociable and comfortable we didn't even use the separate sitting room. I'm very particular about bedding and mattresses and was very pleased to be welcomed by a comfortable a mattress in excellent condition and quality bedding. As a family group of adult siblings and partners, having a bathroom to each bedroom (plus a downstairs loo) was a rare find outside of a hotel stay and made the stay even more relaxing. The all en suite bedroom configuration makes the Gin Gan an option for future visits, no questions asked.

The location was a little further than was anticipated from Seahouses centre, but it was an easy flat walk to some excellent pubs (our fave was the Olde Ship, so much character, the best pulled ale and excellent food). On reflection the location also meant we could arrive in two cars and have both parked outside the property in dedicated parking spots with no issues.

Pre stay communication was excellent from both Coquet and the owners directly - thorough and considerate.

We had a lovely stay, thanks for sharing your holiday home. We hope to be back again for a longer stay next time!

This was our second stay at the Gin Gan this year, we had visited in June with my elderly parents and loved it.
As it was our wedding anniversary we decided to rebook, the location is ideal for us as we tour the area ranging from Tynemouth to North Berwick.
The cottage is lovely with a large kitchen/diner/seating area where we spent our evenings, and the bedrooms/bathrooms are also well fitted out.
The quiet location is really nice.

The Gin Gan was the perfect property to stay for our Northumberland holiday of 3 generations (all adult) plus our cockapoo
The spacious property is tucked away on a quiet cut-de-sac about 1km from the centre of Seahouses, so a lovely 10-15min walk
All 3 bedrooms are ensuite, there is a large kitchen dining area as you walk into the property with sofas and a tv (this is where we spent most of our time) plus then a separate lounge area with a door out to the small garden.
The property was really clean and we were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper of local tea and coffee, cakes plus essentials of butter, milk and Jam etc (much better than we have had in previous properties) there was also a little pack for our dog which is a lovely touch
The rules for dogs were strict. They are not allowed in bedrooms, upstairs or on the covered sofas.
Ours is allowed on furniture (with covers) at home and is used to sleeping in the same room so it would have been good to know this before we booked as would have looked elsewhere if we would have known this in advance
All in all a beautiful unique spacious property in a great location for discovering Northumberland

What an amazing place. The photos do not do the house justice. The attention to detail was perfect and just loved the luggage mats on the beds. Everything in the house was of the highest quality and just made the stay like. a home from home. The garden was safe for the dogs, fenced and mixture of sunny and shady spots. We have stayed in a few Coquet Cottages and all have been very good however this was the best and we would definitely stay again.

The Gin Gan is a beautiful house, the location is peaceful but also close enough to seahouses for shops, cafes etc…
The welcome pack was really special as were the lovely toiletries, the kitchen really well equipped and everything was spotlessly clean.

Loved the cottage as soon as we walked in, light and airy and well presented.
Ideal for our parents who are elderly, with some mobility issues, so the ground floor bedroom with en-suite suited perfectly.
Lovely location, (in fact we stayed at another CC cottage very close to this one only 4 weeks previously).
All we wanted to see and do in the area was all within an approx 30 -45 minute drive, from the Union chain bridge in the north, Kielder in the west, and St Mary’s lighthouse, (Whitley bay), at the southern end of the county.
A really relaxing break.

We booked the Gin Gan to celebrate my wife’s 60 th birthday as it looked so good and the reviews matched.
And ,boy, we weren’t disappointed .This place is very special, the photos don’t really do it justice.
The owners have spared no expense in making this a 5 star property! From the excellent welcome pack , to the provision of more kit in the kitchen than you could possibly need, it’s excellent.
We’ve stayed in some really good properties over the years, in the lakes,the Cotswolds and Devon, and this is right up there with them.
The location is good, in a small complex of converted farm buildings and only a fifteen minute walk into Seahouses with plenty of places to eat and drink, and very handy for travel to the rest of the Northumberland coast.
After our week there with our family, we really didn’t want to leave.
Definitely on our list of return properties.

We literally cannot fault the Gin Gan. The welcome hamper was gorgeous - thank you. The house has everything you need and is kept so clean. Perfect position to explore Northumberland.

Another amazing few days at the Gin Gan, a beautiful property, immaculately kept. The snug is just perfect for relaxing evenings at this time of year. Used the Ocean Club membership which is a great extra. Gluten free request was thoughtfully catered for in the welcome hamper with fantastic local produce. Thanks so much Sian & Pete, we hope to return again soon.

The Gin Gan is in a very quiet, private location with easy parking for two cars. The garden is beautifully quiet with a sunny seating area and two small lawns with mature shrub borders.
Inside the living areas are lovely and large, with plenty of seating; everything being furnished to a high standard and the kitchen being very well equipped. It had a homely feel, with plenty of children’s puzzles and games available.
The bedrooms are again furnished to a high standard with lots of storage, although we found the beds upstairs not very comfortable. All the en-suite bathrooms are small, and the shower off the twin bedroom might cause an issue to anyone particularly tall, as the height is restricted in the eaves. However, this did not cause us any problems.
The owner is very helpful and is more than happy to help with anything to make your stay more enjoyable. This is without doubt the cleanest and best maintained property I have ever stayed in.
We loved our time here and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We found this gem five years ago and have been returning for the same week ever since! Sian and Peter have thought of everything to make it a real home from home. Little touches like dog treats, poo bags, dog towel and feeding bowls for Hiro our dog!
Sleep spray for the kids is another lovely touch.
We love the area and have a choice of fabulous beaches. Bamburgh Castle is close and the Potted Lobster is a must do. Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Warkworth are just a few of the places you can visit.

Fabulous large kitchen family room allowing socialisation without being cramped.
Lovely and clean with a great welcome pack.
Excellent location - car not needed to get to beach or shops.

The cottage was perfect. Communication with Coquet Cottages was very friendly and the texts sent from the owners, very helpful.
The Welcome pack was delightful and the cottage was very well equipped. The cleaning team , did an excellent job.
The location was very good. A short walk into Seahouses and a short drive to the wonderful beaches and castles of Northumberland. The cottage provided everything for the whole family.
I have already recommended the cottage to others.

We stayed for the second time at The Gin Gan July 2023. The house is comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen diner is spacious and beautiful, the lounge great for a movie night the outside seating for a drink and reading a good book. Bedrooms are very comfortable and ensuite bathrooms great. We love the location, the walk along the beach from Bamburgh to Seahouses and the many wonderful local pubs and restaurants (pre-book). We also cooked several family meals with great success in the house. Great housekeeping ensures it is in good order for each new client. We look forward to another visit in the future.
