We found The Dunes very suitable for us, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The house is brightly furnished and very comfortable. None of us cook with electricity and we found the induction hob an amusing challenge. We are of a generation who appreciate an instruction book as downloading an app is another even bigger challenge. In Scotland different Councils have different colour coding for refuse bins. More information on waste disposal would be helpful The large lamp in the sitting room did not respond when we tried to switch it on, so we brought a lamp in from a bedroom. The locks on both front and back door {the barrel on this lock was loose] and the front was very tight and difficult to open from the inside and caused a problem. However Emily summoned a joiner, her brother, who checked them. The welcome basket was a nice touch and all the leaflets on places of interest were very informative.

Thank you for your thoughtful review of The Dunes! We’re delighted to hear that The Dunes was suitable for your needs and that you found it comfortable and brightly furnished. We understand that the induction hob can be a bit of a learning curve which is why we include all instructions in our Digital Guidebook. We apologise for the issues with the lamp and the door locks, but we’re glad Emily was able to assist promptly. Emily is a fantastic host! It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the welcome basket which is always full to the brim of local produce and that you found the local information helpful. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back for another stay soon.

The Dunes was a beautiful place to stay. The location was absolutely perfect for us, stunning views , (watched a deer meandering across the field from the balcony one evening) we could walk to the village and also the beach. A bit of a bonus, when we got there we realised the Warkworth show was on in the castle grounds on the Saturday, we did go and really enjoyed it especially the dog show. Our own dog even had a go at the agility!
The house itself is gorgeous and by far one of the best that we've ever stayed in. The only reason I've given 4 and not 5 for comfort is that we felt it maybe needed more comfortable seating in the lounge ( we did do quite a bit of lolling about looking at the view!)but apart from that everything was absolutely perfect .
The hamper basket which was waiting for us when we arrived was stuffed to the brim with local goodies which were very much welcomed!
Our grandson really enjoyed the garden for outside games and our small dog also enjoyed running around after her ball ( her favourite part of the holiday definitely) .
The house was perfectly placed for visiting Amble (ten mins in car), Alnwick (castle obviously and barter books on a rainy day but don't bother with their very busy car park , use the surrounding streets),
Dunstanborough castle (walk from craster along the coast) and Seahouses . Oh and not forgetting the wonderful Cragside... so much to do in the area!
A huge thank you to the owners and to Emily who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Definitely saving this one for a possible revisit....

Beautiful location near to some stunning beaches - A little further than the stones throw mentioned in the bumf but still within walking distance.

The cottage was well kept and wanted for nothing - well set out and spacious - well equipped

Emily was an excellent host and made sure we had every that we needed - the hamper and flowers were a nice touch

The weather was really good and we were able to explore at our will

The upstairs rooms were very hot - mainly due to the window restrictors which we understood but didn't allow for any air flow

We would certainly recommend the property

We liked the position of the house with long distance views of the sea from the upstairs sitting room also wonderful sunsets.
The house is modern and new with comfortable beds and lots of space for a family.
Emily made us very welcome and had considered our special needs which we appreciated.
The walks straight from the door to Warkworth Beach are great. We also enjoyed the coastal walk. You can walk along the beach to Amble in one direction and Alnmouth in the other.
The property is in a good location being close to Warkworth.
The enclosed large garden was a huge bonus.

We have enjoyed our first holiday in Northumberland and will definitely be back!
Coquet Cottages was recommended to us by a friend who has stayed in a number of their properties and we were not disappointed with The Dunes. We found it to be cosy, beautifully decorated to a very high standard, well equipped, clean and within easy travel of lots of interesting places to visit. From a practical point of view it was within easy travelling distance of local supermarkets, shops and restaurants and take out places. It was so very quiet and peaceful and we were blessed with sunshine most days which made the holiday even better.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May, landing on our feet with the weather. Have booked with Coquet previously and was confident in the quality this accommodation would provide.
Views - amazing towards golf course and sea
Location - 7 minute walk into Warkworth. village. 4 mins to beach. Brilliant.
Home - super comfy beds, every convenience, nespresso (yay), Netflix, great wifi, secure, super quiet.
We walked to Alnmouth and back (note head up to cycle path well before to navigate estuary) which was about 11 miles round trip and ended with drink in golf club just behind the house.
Ate like kings at the Masons Arms and Bertram’s in the village. And revisited Alnwick Castle (15-20 min drive).
Would not hesitate to recommend these welcoming hosts and this lovely property. Thanks for a gorgeous short stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts following your stay at The Dunes. I'm thrilled to hear that you appreciated the yellow roses in your welcome hamper - they're always a favourite touch among guests. The addition of a television in the bedrooms was intended to provide more flexibility for guests when the house is fully occupied. We will of course pass your feedback on to the owners of the property. Regarding your comment about privacy on the site, The Dunes is situated in a very quiet area and we have tried to accurately represent the proximity of nearby properties through photographs on our webpage. The property benefits from the proximity to Warkworth Beach whilst it is also within walking distance to Warkworth village centre for those who wish to explore the area. I do hope to welcome you back to Northumberland in the future, please contact us here at the office when the time comes to think about your next getaway.
