The Alba is a fantastic coastal retreat with spectacular sea views, located in the historic fishing port of Amble, within walking distance of friendly pubs, wonderful restaurants, and beautiful sandy beaches. The Alba is a lovely place to stay in a great location. It’s really clean and comfortable with a fun decor that makes it stand out from your usual holiday rental. The views from the sun room are stunning and we saw some spectacular sunsets. Amble is also a great base to explore the coast and has some good places to eat and drink. You certainly won't be disappointed if you stay at the Alba.

This cottage exceeded all of our expectations.Very luxurious and quirky yet extremely comfortable.The location was breathtaking , with the sea just yards away from the front window. local amenities were not very far away. The owner has put a lot of thought into decorating and fitting out this property with no expense spared
We wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.
We would prefer lighter tog duvets but in the colder months perhaps the current ones would be perfect.

We have stayed in Amble a lot but The Alba is the best accommodation so far. Great location with marvellous views, it didn’t disappoint at all. The house is beautifully furnished to a high standard and has everything you need. Beds are very comfortable with plenty of space in the bedrooms for hanging clothes and storage space. Good quality linen and towels were provided.
Kitchen is well equipped and the shower room is exceptional with great beauty products. We made good use of the outside seating area but a hand rail would be useful for getting down the steps.
Our suggestions for improvement would be curtains for the bedroom which blocked out light, the blinds were not sufficient. Or take sleeping masks!
Parking could be an issue as local neighbours were a bit difficult when we were unloading .
However, we would DEFINITELY use this accommodation again as our first choice.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Alba. From the decor to the location, we immediately felt at home. The view is superb and the neighbours friendly and lovely. We really hope to be back.

We had a lovely week at the Alba. The cottage is beautiful with modern fixtures and fittings. 2 fabulous shower rooms and a huge well equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds with first class linen. The cottage has spectacular views across to Warkworth Castle and is in a wonderful situation. The downside is the lack of parking beside the cottage although we did manage to get a space in the residents car park. Also please be aware dogs are not allowed on the beach at Amble from May to September which was a disappointment although I can understand the reasons.

We wanted to clarify a couple of points mentioned: while dogs are not allowed on the 'Little Shore' beach between May and September, there is a dog-friendly beach just a 5-minute walk from the property. Additionally, we do provide residents parking for 1 vehicle, so guests have a designated area to park. We hope this information helps, and we would love to welcome you back in the future!

The Alba is a beautifully furnished small cottage in a lovely location overlooking the pier walk into Amble. It has a small sunroom extension to the original cottage with panoramic views over the sea and estuary towards Alnmouth. If you’re lucky and we were, there are the most amazing sunsets which can be enjoyed especially with a glass of wine in hand from the terrace, sun room or lounge areas. The view too is lovely from the main bedroom, again overlooking the sea. There are “ extra” luxury touches with liquid soap , hand cream and shower accessories throughout. We can’t recommend this cottage highly enough for a lovely relaxing break.

The Alba is perfectly situated for a relaxing stay, with lovely views from its cosy sun lounge of the sea, pier, lighthouse and boats coming and going to Amble harbour, and it’s easy access by foot or car to shops, cafes, restaurants. It is beautifully decorated, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean.

We loved The Amble from the moment we stepped through the gate...everything so clean and new, and wonderful view from the sunroom even in February where we would sit and have morning coffee with only the sound of the odd boatie ...so peaceful. Perfect for walking straight from the house to town, beaches and beyond...

Exceptionally good holiday home rental agency in Coquet Cottages combined with an very attentive owner of The Alba makes this beautifully refurbished cottage right on the sea so wonderful a place to stay. Two really good dog walks from the front door and a short walk to the harbour, Sunday market and many seafood restaurants makes this ideally located. And the view across the sea from the comfortable sun room is lovely. The house has every amenity you could wish for and is all provided to the highest standard. We have been two year running now and are booking for 2025 too.

Although having been to Northumberland and used Coquet for many years, we have never stayed in Amble. We booked the Alba because it looked perfect for 2 couples, with lovely bedrooms and a bathroom for each couple not to mention the fabulous view. The kitchen and all the downstairs rooms were large enough to be both sociable and comfortable. Amble as a location has a lot to offer holidaymakers, lovely restaurants, takeaways and little independent shops. It was nice to walk around the town with the option of a very efficient bus service as well.

We all agreed we would like to return to the Alba and try a different season to thoroughly enjoy the outside patio and those super views.

Our first Christmas away and so glad we did it. The Alba is extremely comfortable, well presented and spotlessly clean, with amazing views of the sea over to Warkworth Castle and Alnmouth, and further up the coast. Sitting in the sun-room watching high tide was a treat, and in the evening looking at the lights. Jilly, her Housekeeper Hayley and the team at Coquet Cottages made our stay very stress-free and memorable. We felt like we were in our own little seaside bubble yet not cut off. Amble is a very friendly place and we would definitely come again.

We arrived on the 6th December and it was really horrible outside.
We walked into the most lovely accommodation, the interior was a mix of a beach shack with white wooden floors mixed with art decor, it worked really well.
Outstanding property with a lovely feel.
Need i say more !

Fabulous property with amazing quirky decor.Everywhere was spotless and the owner had shown great attention to detail.Everything had been thought about and all the extras were excellent. The beds were amazing with luxurious bedding.The toiletries were expensive and delightful and the Welcome pack and fridge contents were very welcome. What an amazing place! The Alba has everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. It has a fantastic location with a view to the beach and walkway. There is a well equipped, spacious kitchen and utility room with a shower room off it. A comfortable lounge and dining room, a great sun room with a small outside patio that has an L shaped sofa. Two comfortable bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. It has quality bedlinen, towels and we loved the Bath Shop products so much so we bought some ourselves. The styling is beautiful for a rental and the little touches much appreciated including the lovely welcome hamper. It was the perfect place for two ladies on a walking holiday. I would highly recommend The Alba.

We stayed in amble before and loved the location of this house, with views over the pier and to the sea. The house itself is so beautiful. We spent most of the week relaxing by enjoying the view and just walking around the great village that has everything you need locally.

We had great communication beforehand, and even a call saying we could arrive earlier if required. The house itself was clean, beautifully furnished, and smelt divine! Little touches like a welcome hamper, great smelling toiletries, comfy beds and soft towels!

Don’t really want to recommend this place …. as it is such a great find that it will get booked up too quickly!

This cottage is so beautiful & is just in a perfect place too. We absolutely loved it, so peaceful & scenic. Best fish & chips we've ever had too from chip shop just down the street.

Amble is very much a working small town rather than a high end resort.Never the less facilities both in the town and it,s environments are many and to a very high standard.Alba was probably the best cottage we have ever stayed in.The view from the small west facing conservatory was spectacular especially in the evening

Amble is a working class town but with so much charm, especially down by the harbour. Award-winning restaurants and ice cream parlour and some great independent shops can all be found overlooking the sea. It doesn't pretend to be a high end resort, which is part of the appeal for some. We hope to see you again soon!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Alba. It is such a beautiful cottage. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the amazing views. We also very much liked Amble in particular the trip to Coquet island to see the puffins and seals.
