Swansdown is a beautiful luxury coastal apartment in the bustling fishing port of Amble, the perfect seaside retreat. Stunning views from all windows of the harbour, yacht marina, sea, and Coquet Island. Awarded 5 stars with a GOLD award, as well as a ROSE award (recognition of service excellence) in 2017. This holiday apartment was right in the midst of things in Amble. Lovely coffee shop/food place next door. Artisan ice cream next door. Market and further restaurants 5 min walk away. High St about 6 min walk away. Easy walk to Walkworth. Stunning views.
Apartment well equipped, although could do with a cafetiere as we don't all have pods to bring.
The welcome pack was very well stocked apart from the spread Willow which is really for baking, and the cake could have been more local than Mc Vities. Everything else was great.
This is one of the most stunning coastlines of Britain.

This is a lovely flat in a great location with fantastic views over the marina to Walkworth Castle. We spent a lot of time indoors as the weather was pretty foul most of the time and appreciated the space and views from the apartment.
The only downside was that the family confined to their flat just above us were noisy. A toddler seemed to spend the day stomping up and down on the floor and we were surprised how this noise transmitted through the ceiling to our apartment.

Our second visit to Swansdown. Everything in the apartment is excellent. The lovely welcome basket is a bonus. Owner and Coquet Cottages staff most helpful. The only downside was the dreadful June weather, but we don’t hold anyone responsible for that. ❤️☂️

We had a wonderful stay at Swansdown. The owners had thought of everything to give the apartment a luxury feel but still retaining a chilled holiday vibe. Views stunning.

Swansdown has been our “go to” retreat for some time, so relaxing whatever the weather. Amble just gets better, what more could anyone want! But don’t tell too many people.

Luxury and comfort. Marina view from the balcony, convenient parking and lift so great for the not so agile. Touch of indulgence was the welcome hamper, well appreciated. Weather not as good as we hoped but Swansdown was compensation for that.

We have stayed at Swansdown many times in the past and it never ceases to please. Modern, clean, comfortable, and perfectly sited for an ‘older’ couple like us. Shame about the weather - cool and very wet!!
We will be back.

This modern two bed apartment overlooking the marina in Amble is perfect for a couple's holiday. If the weather is rotten and you have to stay in - then the views up over the marina and towards Warkworth Castle are just splendid. One never gets bored. Th open plan living/dining/kitchen area is comfortable and well equipped. The master e/s bedroom is very comfortable and the shower is simply one of the best we've experienced.

The apartment was immaculate and provided with everything we needed, there was a lovely welcome basket which included things for our dog. The owner was extremely helpful before our stay with suggestions of dog friendly places to eat and visit and his recommendations were spot on. The apartment is ideally situated only a hip slip and a jump from lovely restaurants and more practical amenities. We had a fabulous stay.

Everything about Swansdown is excellent. Our host Derek was very helpful and caring a true gentleman. The apartment is exceptionally well equipped with everything one needs. The bathrobes and slippers were very welcome extras. We were welcomed with a lovely hamper of goodies. The view over the Marina allowed us to sit and watch the various activities on the water. In all a super week with special thanks to our hosts. Pamela

Really lovely stay. A great location for lovers of fresh seafood, seabirds and Northumberland's coastal villages. Also convenient to the ancient town, Castle and gardens of Alnwick -- and its Book Exchange.

We have stayed in Swansdown 5 times , mostly in June and once in January. It is the best apartment we have ever stayed in.
The generous welcome pack includes a home baked , delicious cake , this time it was an Almond Cake . The furniture is well designed and well thought out . The view over the Marina and Coquet Estuary is ever changing and we have had glorious sunsets . We are bird watchers and we normally see over 25 species just from the balcony . We will be back next year .

Having suddenly lost most of my sight and balance after a recent operation, l was most apprehensive about visiting Swansdown for the first time. I need not have worried, the experience was a joy. The first floor apartment was easily accessible via a lift, with car parking next to the front door of the apartment block. Swansdown was clean, welcoming and well laid out and easy to negotiate for someone with my impairments. There was a walk in shower and extremely comfortable beds. It had everything you could wish for and more, even luxuries like bathrobes and slippers, a vase of fresh flowers and a welcome hamper. The owner was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Excellent places to eat were just a short walk away and walks around the nearby harbour and pier a pleasure.

Swansdown is a beautiful apartment with every amenity. It’s situated overlooking the marina which is lovely and we had beautiful sunsets every evening. It’s also within easy walking distance of the centre of Amble. The property was immaculate throughout and the owners kept in touch to make sure all was well and we were happy. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to others.



We keep returning to Swansdown, it’s excellent in all ways.

First class property, you relax the minute you arrive. Always made very welcome. Even in poor weather it’s great behind glass. We’ll be back again next year.
