Immaculately restored 19th century cottage in a quiet yet central part of the pretty medieval village of Warkworth, just a couple of minutes' walk to all of the amenities and a 15 minute walk to the huge sandy beach. Extremely cosy and comfortable for couples or small families with the benefit of a small sunroom and a woodburning stove. Small courtyard to sit out. Pets welcome. Awarded 5 Stars by Visit England. We loved staying at Sunny Cottage in Warkworth. Great location near to the river with easy walks into the village and to the castle. Very comfortable house (especially the beds) and plenty of space to sit and relax. If there is a niggle it is the name of 'Sunny House': even in a sunny week we were disappointed that there was little sun at the front or back of the house (perhaps some pruning of shrubs might help?) except for an odd hour in the middle of the day.

We had a lovely stay at Sunny Cottage, which had plenty of space for everyone. The extension of the living room into the Conservatory was a great addition, and we found ourselves using the Conservatory space for breakfast coffees, afternoon teas, book reading and snoozing. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious, we brought our cocker spaniel too and his bed fitted well into this space without impinging on our comfort (or his!). The bedrooms upstairs were lovely with comfortable beds and the main bedroom had the indulgence of a TV in the room, which, had the weather been more inclement, it may have had a bit more use if duvet days became obligatory.
The location of the cottage is lovely. It is in a quiet part of the village away from the High Street, which is the main coastal road, and is just a few steps away from the river, where we saw a heron most evenings, fishing for his supper. The walk into Warkworth is just 5 minutes, if that, and there is a village shop, a couple of good pubs and our favourite, Bertrams, delicious food all day long.
I would happily recommend a stay at Sunny Cottage in this gorgeous part of Northumberland.

Couldn't have asked for a better week at Sunny Cottage. Apart from the high standard of the property we loved the peaceful location. Yet at the same time could access Warkworth easily. And the good weather topped off the stay. Thank you Coquet Cottages. Memories to treasure. Rufus (the Lakeland Terrier) had an equally good time and didn't want to be parted from the dog bed provided. Just have to find him something equivalent when we get home.

A beautifully decorated, comfy cottage in an excellent location for Warkworth village and beach. The kitchen was superbly equipped for self catering, the lounge lovely and cosy, the bedrooms comfy and the sun room a pleasant reading room. Loved the decor and flower area in the courtyard. Very clean and well kept. Easy walking to village, beach and Amble. The welcome hamper was very thoughtful and helpful. Easy to park on road parking near to cottage.

We had such a lovely week in Sunny Cottage.

We have stayed a several cottages int he village and Sunny was our first stay 9-10 years ago, it was lovey to be back this time. Extremely clean and the bed is just so comfy! Just what we needed after a day of exploring and beach walks.

Its a great size for a couple (with a dog) and we plan to be back again.

Very well appointed Cottage, the Front Garden is too full to sit in, the bench coujd also do with a clean up.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The response to our problems was excellent and we appreciated that.
Your service from the Office was excellent too.
A very Good Company to deal with and we would use your service in the future

Sunny Cottage is very comfortable, nicely furnished, and clean .Furnishings are good quality. There is a nice kitchen with table, and a warm snug looking out to the rear. It's in an excellent location just off the river, with parking in a quiet road. Pretty bedrooms. We would book again.

Sunny Cottage had everything we could possibly need, all home comforts were provided.
A lovely welcome hamper was provided for us and there was even one for the dog!
Sunny Cottage is located near to the river, a five minute walk from the village centre with all its amenities. We would definitely stay again.

We have visited Northumberland twice a year for the past 15 years, and Sunny Cottage is our new favourite. It is clean,cosy,and very well appointed. It had everything we needed and is in a really good,quiet location.

What a wonderful stay we had in this cosy cottage. Coquet Cottages were so helpful after our first booking fell through but glad it did as we would have missed staying in Sunny Cottage . From the helpful office staff to the amazing hampers for us and my dog they all just added to making this a very special stay. The cottage itself was perfect ,so cosy with wood burner on, very well equipped kitchen as we enjoy eating in, and the beds were so comfy.
Warkworth was ideal for walking from the door to Amble and along that spectacular beach.

Great location with a view of the castle and close to the small town centre.
The cottage has all you could wish for and more, only negative comments are that we found it difficult to get upstairs warm and the décor on the landing looked to be water damaged.

This was our 4th or maybe 5th stay in Sunny. It’s our favourite Warkworth cottage . Very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 small whippets . We had guests staying with us for a couple of nights which worked fine albeit a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults . Cottage was very clean and welcome hamper lovely . We really appreciate the posh doggy treats and details like provision of doggy towels very useful for cleaning the dogs when we come off the beach . We ate as usual in Bertram’s , Masons and the Hermitage and enjoyed a great Sunday roast at the Harbour Inn in Amble . All dog friendly . Our favourite morning coffee haunt is Lily’s Landing in Anble . Very friendly staff . Great customer service from Coquet as always . We’ll be back!

I have stayed in and around Warkworth every December for the past few years, I know the area pretty well and the cottage was as I expected very welcoming. The cottage is well decorated, well furnished and appointed, in December you need to be warm and cosy, the cottage delivered on all points.
Good pubs and cafes within easy walking distance, numerous walks and the beach again very close by, something for everyone, people and pets.

Just back from a glorious week in Sunny Cottage. Clean comfortable and superb attention to detail with lots of thoughtful touches meant this really felt like a home from home for us. The sun room was a great place to sit and read. Everything provided in the kitchen which made life easy! Already miss the beautiful river and all the walks, great being able to walk to a variety of local pubs to eat and so many places to visit nearby. Just the most relaxing stay. Our elderly dog settled so well too and Miles was great looking after her to allow us to go on a couple of day trips. Everywhere is so dog friendly too!

This was our first stay at Sunny Cottage in Warkworth. We have been staying in Warkworth for over 20 years so know the area very well.
The cottage was beautiful. Much thought has been given to those additional touches with lovely welcome hampers with local produce for us and the a doggie hamper for Bertie!
The cottage was beautifully clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed .
Before we left we went to the Coquet office in the village and saw Natalie who was really helpful and we have already booked for next year!
Thank you for making our stay so special we have found our happy place.

This is a beautiful cottage, and is bigger than it appears in the photos on line (especially the kitchen). It has been refurbished to a very high standard. The sofas and double bed are very comfortable. The cottage is tucked away in a quiet part of Warkworth, just across from the beautiful River Coquet and below the castle. We sat out on the river on several evenings watching herons and eider ducks. The other cottages there were unoccupied making it particularly peaceful for our stay! The kitchen would have benefitted from the inclusion of some salt and pepper (not easy to buy small quantities of those when on holiday). Also - beware - we managed to lock ourselves in at one point by closing the front door when it was "double locked". There us no way to reverse the double lock from the inside! Luckily we still had the back door keys in the house (rather than in the key safe outside) so were able to get out.

I'm sorry to hear you had an issue with the front door lock, it's a standard Yale lock and appeared to work fine when we used it yesterday, however, we will check it over again to ensure it's functioning correctly for future guests. We do actually provide sea salt and peppercorn in grinders in all our properties, however, it appears that the previous guests must have inadvertently taken them home and we didn't realise they had gone! Rest assured, if you return for another stay - which we hope you will do - they will be there for you next time :-) Thank you again for your lovely review.
