Great week in St Paul's View. The accommodation was spotless and has everything you could ever need. All the items in the house are of a high quality and the little things like the umbrellas and the tupper wear boxes were a great addition for the British weather and a little picnic. Great location just a short walk from the town centre with lots of restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

The welcome pack was the best we had ever seen !Full of lots of varied home produce and even included local cheese and butter .
The furnishings were lovely ,and all the decor was of a high standard. Added extras were the hot tub and sauna which were handy after a long day outside .
One little gripe was the sofa which was too low ,and a bit hard to sit on .We put the other seat cushions on it to sit in comfort.
The house had everything you need and full of thoughtful little extras like toiletries ,night lights , a coffeemaker and torches ,and even some fresh roses in a vase in the window !

The owners have put much thought and money into refurbishing this property and I’m loathe to be negative as overall we had a great time.
The kitchen and outdoor space are excellent. Clean, a very comprehensive welcome pack, plenty for storage and good quality kitchen fittings and very well equipped. A dining table indoors for 6 plus outdoor sofa and table. The hot tub and sauna were great and worked well.
We didn’t find the sofas in the lounge to be comfortable or the beds and pillows. However, to look at the rooms they are all well furnished and plush. Maybe a bit of style over substance!
The downstairs loo has obviously been a cupboard and very easy to bang your head. We needed two loos for 4 people and realise owners have done their best with limited space.
The main bathroom has a walk in shower and we spent a lot of time mopping the floor after showers. It floods the floor after every use. The tap on the bathroom sink isn’t long enough and doesn’t reach into the sink hence it runs all over the outside of the sink.
The street the cottage is situated in is extremely busy and noisy. Not only do the church bells toll loudly( stop about 11pm and restart at 6am) pedestrians are directly outside the window and there is a lot of traffic noise from the street outside.
Parking was a nightmare! We had two cars and getting a space outside in Percy street was next to impossible and one car ended up parked streets away. One day my husband was guiding my son in to parallel park and a resident told him to move as he wanted that space to the point the other person drove his car at my husband to try and take the space. Very dangerous and stressful. The designated space is down a narrow back alley outside some garages behind the cottage. Again difficult in a big car and unsure how secure.
We were also harangued by another neighbour when we were putting key in key safe. As we started to speak quietly and not shout out the key safe number she started accusing us of thinking she would rob the house! She was aggressive, rude and unpleasant and said she was a neighbour and hated holidaymakers and we shouldn’t go in the hot tub as we needed to consider her! Bear in mind we used it twice once until 8pm and once until 5pm.
There is obviously an issue with residents resenting this holiday let and we got the brunt of their frustration. For these reasons we couldn’t return or recommend and that’s a shame because superficially this is a nice place. Sad we were staying for our son’s wedding and felt unwelcome and stressed by some locals. We live in the Lake District and have holiday makers near us all the time. Therefore, it makes us even more mindful of being considerate neighbours!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay at St, Paul's View. I am delighted to hear that you had a great time and that you found the kitchen and outdoor space to be excellent. Thank you for the feedback regarding the sofas and the walk-in shower. Regarding the property’s location, each webpage includes detailed information from What3words, Google Maps, and a 3D tour showing the exact view from the front door. Parking in this historic part of Alnwick can be tight due to the age of the surrounding buildings and the dedicated parking space at the back of the property is indeed a bonus. We are sorry to hear that you had an issue with one of the neighbours, we will pass this feedback on to the owner. I do hope we can welcome you back to Northumberland in the future.

Our stay in St. Paul’s view was excellent on arrival there was a lovely welcome pack with everything you needed for your first night, including wine and chocolate what more could one want.
The place was spotless and the bed very comfortable,
It was in an ideal spot central for everything and the phone guide with all information regarding the area and eateries
Was great extremely handy.
We would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
Only thing that could do with looking at is the tap at sink of main bathroom as
It’s short and water tended to run round rim of sink but all else was good.

St Paul’s View is in a perfect position for visiting Alnwick, especially the castle and garden. It’s also good for the beautiful Northumberland coast, Cragside and Wallington.

It was well worth the nearly 370 mile journey to stay at this cottage in the heart of Northumbria. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the welcome basket of goodies were generous and delicious.
The cottage is just a short stroll into the centre of Alnwick, where we enjoyed especially the food offered at the Market Tavern (booking recommended).
Also worth a mention is the fantastic pub in Craster called the Jolly Fisherman - we had a delicious Sunday lunch there and also a mid-week lunch. Great sea views if you are lucky enough to get a window table (suggest asking for one when booking).

A top quality place to stay in a lovely market town. The owners have spared no expense in terms of fixtures and fittings - it is beautifully appointed.

I am torn about writing anything negative about the property as it's immediately evident that a lot of money has been spent on St Paul's View as it is lovely. Really, really lovely. The communication from the owner was kind and friendly, with care taken to provide an exceptionally thoughtful welcome hamper. St Paul's View sits directly on a road that is a fairly busy thoroughfare for both cars and people. At the weekend, it's revellers returning late from the town centre and during the week, it's delivery vans and traffic going directly past the front door from early in the morning. For this reason, if we were the owners we would look to try and find a solution to soundproof the front windows.... there's only three of them too! For us, this is a key area that has been overlooked though, as there can be quite a bit of noise from the road. The chimes of the church bells (directly opposite) are not a problem as they do not chime during the night.

We had a lovely time staying in Alnwick. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The hot tub and sauna were a welcome bonus. Having a sauna then a dip in the hot tub when it was 4 degrees outside was fantastic. We will book again for next year.

A beautiful house right in the centre of Alnwick, perfect as then we did not need to walk far. Beautifully decorated with everything you needed, a real home from home. Fabulous welcome pack when we arrived, and all ready to go in the hot tub. The App received before we went was amazing, so we new what to expect and could roughly plan our week. Would definitely stay her again, and recommend to others.

St. Paul’s view was a fantastic base for exploring Alnwick, the wider local area and also for day trips to Edinburgh and Newcastle. Conveniently located within a 2-3 minute walk if Alnwick town centre, an array of shops and facilities, including Alnwick castle and gardens, were on our doorstep, yep the location was quiet and peaceful.
The house itself was clean, tidy and beautifully presented, with a real attention to detail paid, to make the stay as comfortable as possible.
The hot tub and sauna were excellent bonus additions and helped to make the house feel like a real luxury location.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Alnwick and at St. Paul’s and would very much choose to stay here again if we elate in the area as it was the perfect house for us.
