This is a fabulous place to stay. It's very comfortable and has lovely views over the estuary. It's also very quiet at night so you can sleep well. Alnmouth itself is an attractive town with a surprising number of good places to eat and drink and lots of good walk along the coast in both directions.

Had a wonderful holiday here at Sandy shores location was ideal took our Kayake out onto the estuary with our 2 dogs perfect the apartment had all we needed and more the heating was easy to put on when needed as mentioned in the welcome leaflet and the welcome pack was such a lovely thing to do beds were very comfortable parking was ok had 2 cars, might have been a bit of a problem if downstairs apartment was occupied local pub called the Red lion do great pizzas drinks were quite expensive as a glass of Chardonnay was £12 also the local supermarket in the high st had a very ignorant and unhelpful man so avoid if you can but Alnmouth lovely place to stay and great base to visit other towns and castles the Croquet staff were amazing thank you all so much will be back next year

I am thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful holiday at Sandy Shores and that the location was ideal for you. It sounds like you made the most of your time there by taking your kayaks out onto the estuary with your dogs. I'm glad to hear that the apartment had everything you needed and more and that the heating was easy to use when needed. It was very kind of you to mention the welcome pack and the comfortable beds. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the local pub, The Red Lion, and their great pizzas. Thank you for letting me know about the expensive drinks, but I'm glad that didn't detract too much from your stay. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the unhelpful man at the local supermarket in the high street, but I'm glad that Alnmouth was a lovely place to stay and a great base for visiting other towns and castles. It's wonderful to hear that the Coquet Cottages staff were amazing and that you plan to come back next year. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to Northumberland soon.

Stunning views in a very comfortable house.

Probably one of the best locations and views in Alnmouth. Very comfortable and well equipped house . Very convenient for shop and pub in Alnmouth and beach and local walks. There are a lot of stairs so not ideal for people with limited mobility. The beautiful balcony more than makes up for lack of outside space.

This property is situated in a great location. The rooms are located up a couple of flights of stairs, so the views of the estuary are amazing. The property is well appointed, nicely decorated and has lots of space to relax. The beds were comfy and each bedroom a decent size. The house was spotlessly clean too. Nice bathrooms, complete with toiletries. Everything that you could need in a kitchen. A variety of books (both for adults and chidlren) and lots of toys for the children. The village centre is a short walk away, the beach too. There is parking for 2 cars, it is tight but doable. Our thurd car was parked on the road near the house. We all enjoyed a really nice stay here.

This is a very special property in a wonderful location. The views are fabulous, the presentation and cleanliness immaculate and everything is very comfortable and well-equipped. It is a short skip across a quiet road to the beach and to the playground, which is great for families travelling with children - though there are lots of stairs.
The property is also situated a short walk from the village where there are several pubs, a couple of good restaurants, coffee shops and a village store which has everything you need for every day shopping.
There is a Nespresso machine, but we could not locate the re-usable pods, and so made do with other coffee making equipment provided. The high chair provided was an interesting design, and a bit of a challenge for the almost two year old in our party. We weren't able to keep him in place - no straps, and he was too big to use the tray feature - but these are minor gripes.
Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you for leaving a review following your stay at Sandy Shores. We must agree this is a special property and the location is amazing! We truly appreciate all feedback received as it helps us to continue to provide the highest levels of comfort for guests. We are delighted to hear you had such a wonderful stay. We have liaised with the owner of Sandy Shores regarding your comments and she has asked us to let you know, that the baby seat is manoeuvrable according to the baby's size. Additionally, she has also now added a booster seat, that can be strapped to the dining room chairs for toddlers providing more options for families. The owner apologises for the recyclable Vertuo pods, which sometimes seem to be disposed of by accident. There is now a new supply in the property. She was delighted to hear you found the cafetières and hopes you enjoyed the local Northumberland ground coffee that was provided. We look forward to welcoming you back to Northumberland and Sandy Shores again in the future and thank you again for the feedback.

Hard to put into words … just a wonderful place to stay, beautiful beach side home with amazing views! Position couldn’t be better, step out onto the beach/ play area for kids and a short stroll into Town! Facilities are everything you’d need .. and a delicious welcome pack for adults and doggies ! Highly recommend it !!

Lovely property, perfectly situated in the village with a stunning view of the estuary. The dog was out there every day enjoying the beach, as we were able to time the tides. A short walk up the lane brought you out at the pubs and restaurants. The house is beautifully decorated, very comfortable with a good social space. The local produce welcome pack and noble isle toiletries was a nice touch!

What an incredible place to stay its location is perfect for families with dogs. Long walks along the beach and excellent restaurants just around the corner. Even the post office shop has everything and more. Every room was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the surroundings visiting Holy Isalnd, Bamburgh and Warworth. The x18 bus was great to get us all around without the hassle of parking especially to Alnwick which we went regularly to Barter books.

We were 4 retired couples looking for some R&R from our busy volunteering lives. We were delighted with the property, its comfort, decor and location. The views from the lounge and dining room are beautiful. Alnmouth is a beautiful little town with splendid beach walks.

Overall the house was lovely and location superb
One slightly disconcerting thing Coquet Cottages need to be aware of: When we took off the duvet cover off in the master bedroom there was a substantial blood stain on the duvet. Had I known this was there at the start I would have found it off-putting. As well as being a bit yucky, blood is a source of infection, though admittedly, probably much less so when it is dry.

Fab location, well kitted out, amazing view, parking a bonus. It is a really nice comfortable apartment with lots of space to spread out. Alnmouth is a lovely place: We had a great time thank you (only tiny niggle is the building site behind the building which is no-one’s fault of course, but lots of beeping lorries at the back but that will be time limited)
