Pine Cone Hideaway is a truly idyllic retreat that could be likened to something out of Shakespeare's 'Midsummer Nights' Dream'. Awarded 5 Star Gold, this very romantic retreat has distant views of Budle Bay and a pretty outlook onto the neighbouring woodland where deer and other wildlife are regularly spotted. Sleeping just 2, this cosy cottage has a separate garden room that has been built for star gazing and painting, due to the minimal light pollution that exists in the area. There are two wood-burning stoves, a gorgeous garden, and private parking, and the property is pet-friendly for one dog, no bigger than a Spaniel-size. Free Wi-Fi and Digital Guidebook.

A lovely cottage, beautifully furnished and equipped albeit with some minor idiosyncrasies but which we did not find problematic. Garden and woodland setting were delightful and location was ideal for exploring north Northumberland. Welcome hamper as very generously filled with local produce.

Absolutely loved our time at Pine Cone Hideaway, one of the best, if not the best we have stayed at in the past 15 years.

Pine Cone Hideaway was the perfect retreat for our first wedding anniversary. We really appreciated the two welcome hampers, one for us and one for our dog Bobby. Little touches like a bottle of champers and card to congratulate us on our anniversary were lovely touches. We loved the attention to detail at the property. The kitchen was really well stocked and the addition of products in the bathroom was appreciated.
One of the best things for us was the garden and the fact that it was completely secure for our dog to roam free in. As much thought had gone into the garden, the garden room and the cute swing, as has gone into the house.
We’re going to struggle to find anywhere that matches this beautiful place.

We have stayed in Northumberland many times but usually further south, this cottage made a really good base to visit Bamburgh,Berwick on Tweed and Lindisfarne without having to spend lots of time in the car.We even sneaked over the border to Eyemouth and St Abbs with ease.
The cottage itself is quirky with some floor level changes and steps internally as well as stairs to the bedroom. However the lightness and brightness of the garden room with its lovely view of the woodland made up for it.The cottage was comfortable and cosy and the bed extremely comfortable.
The garden and garden room were delightful,it was a really lovely spot for my early morning Yoga, facing the rising sun.
Belford village is quite well served for places to buy supplies and boasts a really good Fish and chip shop (I can confirm that).
There are numerous good restaurants and cafes within a short distance.
The welcome basket was really generous and I really liked the fact that you support an Autism Social enterprise with the chocolate you left. We had a really good break, many thanks

The cottage lived up to our expectations. The property was presented in an excellent manner and the additional touches, like the welcome basket were lovely. If there was one negative point our dog Mollie didn’t have her welcome basket. The features provided, such as broadband, an Alexa, an excellent tv and sky did mean that if we had to stay in (which we didn’t) we could access entertainment. The sleeping accommodation was excellent with a very comfortable bed and well dressed.
The outdoor sun lounge was lovely, but not really used as it just wasn’t warm enough weather to get the benefit from it. (Really disappointed that we couldn’t have a go with the telescope but cloudy skies!!!).
The cottage was a good base to explore the region and embrace the local scenery and beaches. A detailed welcome book also helped.
A nice touch was that the owner took the time and trouble to text and welcome us on the first day when we had arrived.
Overall a first class holiday cottage, well appointed and decorated that ticked all the boxes and would be recommended to family and friends.

From initially booking Pine Cone Hideaway we were very impressed with Coquet Cottages.
The description of the Cottage lived up to its description and beyond. The property has been renovated to a high standard - attention to detail to offer maximum comfort. We particularly loved the views out onto the woodland garden (watching the birds was so enjoyable) and the garden room. A very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, great kitchen and cosy sitting room. Nothing could be better.
The cottage is extremely well equipped- in fact it is more like a home from home than a holiday let.
The location is great- tranquil setting but close enough to many beautiful beaches and attractions.
The welcome hamper for us and our dog were the most generous we have ever had.
We have done this kind of holiday for many years and used many very reputable companies. Coquet cottages and Pine Cone Hideaway will take some beating. We will definitely return. Thank you.

A lovely cottage with artistic and stylish ambience. The cottage is very well equipped and warm ( we had cold and partly wet weather) so provided a good base for outings.
A very generous welcome hamper was much appreciated.

A beautifully presented cottage perfect for a stay in the north of the County. Everything has been thought of to make the holiday experience as comfortable and perfect. The garden and outdoor spaces have been created with care and thought, just right for the end of a busy day G&T whilst watching the sun go down!

This was a gorgeous cottage with a clever design to give privacy while making the most of the views. The gardens were fantastic and perfect for our old dog to wander round in. We were well situated for everywhere we wanted to go but would have been happy staying put. The comfort level was awesome both in the bedroom and the living room. We could have happily stayed longer.
