Novelist cottage has lots of character and provides a home from home. Easy walk to Alnwick town and a cosy pub (Tanners) a few doors down. Cottage (well, an old school before becoming a library) was clean and tidy with everything you could want for a comfortable break.

Novelist cottage was the perfect base for us this week with trips to Bamburgh Castle & Newcastle planned to meet up with family. The Gardens in Alnwick & Barter books were well worth a visit, as was a boat trip to the Farne Islands. The accommodation itself had everything we needed, the welcome gifts for both us & the dog were better than any we've received in rentals before. We usually look for properties with enclosed garden space for the dog but compromised to be closer to the town & with our dog this was no problem but if you have a dog that darts out of doors, access is only via the front which is straight onto a busy road with bus stop directly outside!

Wonderful style of decor . Not so keen on mezzanine level as not really any windows to open. Quality of equipment very good. Some hooks in hallway would be really helpful. Welcome package amazing, it made you feel special. Location was perfect.

This is one of those places where the photos match the actual property and is really nice. Spacious, quality furnishings, and well laid out. There were 3 of us and we had no problems at all. There's great parking at the rear of the property - a big space. It's a short walk to Alnwick town centre, to the gardens and the castle, and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets around. Also there is a bus stop outside the door and buses seem to go everywhere you.might want to visit so you don't always need the car either

Beautiful conversion, newly done so everything was spotlessly clean. Cottage very well equipped, really carefully thought through, we really had everything we needed. The antique book collection was very interesting to look through - seeing the world through the eyes of the Victorians. Property very centrally located in Alnwick with easy parking at rear.

The property is new and everything is in pristine condition.
It was the first time we had stayed in centre of Alnwick and having a dog with us and no enclosed garden was a bit awkward.
I would recommend this property to anyone who is visiting without a dog.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Novelist’s Cottage. We're glad to hear that you found everything to be in pristine condition and would recommend our property to anyone without a dog. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the lack of an enclosed garden. We do not advertise that the garden is enclosed, but for future stays, we can certainly recommend a property with an enclosed garden. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future.
