Had a fabulous few days in Magdalene Cottage….everything provided for! Couldn’t fault it and so comfortable!

This lovely house in a quiet location is one of the best equipped properties I have stayed in. The river Coquet is only a minute’s walk away, and the stunning Warkworth beach could be reached on foot within 20 minutes, or 5 minutes by car.
The welcoming hampers -one for the humans and one for the dog!-were filled with thoughtful and delicious treats.
The property was sumptuously decorated and had great quality furniture and beds, ensuring a very comfortable stay for 6 adults and a toddler.
The only minor negative comment I have relates to the hedge at the back of the property which was very overgrown and cut light out of the already dark kitchen, although I acknowledge that the offending vegetation is planted in the garden to the property at the rear.

Regarding the hedge at the back of the property, we appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately, the hedge belongs to a neighbour, so the owners are unable to trim it themselves. However, rest assured that the owners maintain their side neatly, and the garden remains sunny, especially in the seating area. We hope to welcome you back soon!

We couldn't fault out stay at Magdalene House - it was extremely comfortable with all of our needs considered. The welcome pack for us and Gus the dog was perfect and the location mean we were able to explore northumberland. Coquet cottages were so helpful too which was really appreciated. Thank you for helping us have a great holiday.

we have stayed with Coquet Cottages many times but not until now in Magdalene House. We found it to be a spacious, comfortable, well equipped house in a very lovely location. We will definitely stay again. Thanks

This is a lovely property in an idyllic location.
We have already booked our next visit which says it all.

A lovely, comfortable house and Walkworth is such a delightful town. Our dogs loved the walks along the river and the nearby beaches and it was a great base for exploring further afield. Lindesfarne and Bamborough are within easy distance for a day out. We got lucky with the weather and found great beaches at Alnmouth and Embelton Bay. Enjoyed a nice meal and quiz at the Hermitage Inn on our last night - would recommend it.

All to an extremely high standard - welcome basket of goods for humans and dogs was excellent.
I found the kitchen to small and oddly shaped but otherwise the let was beautiful.

After an amazing holiday 13 years ago to Warkworth in a different Coquet Cottage we were desperate to return with our kids. Magdalene cottage was a lovely home, just about overlooking Warkworth castle, and a short walk to the river. The house was beautifully presented and had everything you could possibly need for your stay.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property or Coquet - the standard is fantastic.

So many beautiful places to visit on your doorstep too. If you haven’t explored Northumberland, you should!

I’m pleased you made good use of the digital guidebook, which once initially accessed by your mobile phone or iPad by scanning the QR code from the welcome sign on arrival at the house, doesn’t need wi-fi or a mobile signature to work, so it will work anywhere in the house and when out and about, even in areas with limited or no mobile signal or wi-fi. Beautiful house perfect location for exploring Northumberland. We love warkworth so chose the property for the location. The house is stunning, well equipped, parking is great. We have loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to others.

Lovely house stocked with everything we needed and located in the perfect spot to explore. Comfy beds ready made, fresh towels and enough for the week, welcome basket of goodies, tv - games and books for the kids, well stocked kitchen, off road parking and quiet

Had a great week here. Magdalene House is ideal for extended family with master suite on 2nd floor. Lots of storage space in property, great amenities and parking is a bonus. The outdoor space is lovely to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Great location, close to Amble for great fish restaurants and Mason Arms in Warkworth friendly and serving great pub food. Alnwick and Bamburgh within easy drive.

Thank you for your great review! You're right, Magdalene House is great for a larger family as the bedrooms are nicely spaced out and you don't feel on top of each other. It's great for children too, where they can safely walk down to the river bank and play there, and older children can wander into the village. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
