Fuchsia Cottage is a gorgeous, cosy holiday cottage in the quiet village of Christon Bank, just next to Embleton and not far from Newton by the Sea. It comfortably sleeps 4 and is all ground level with a huge kitchen/diner at the back, overlooking the pretty, sunny garden with countryside views. The wood burning stove adds to the super-cosy ambience of the lounge and it has free wifi throughout. Fuchsia Cottage is pet-free.

Our stay at Fuschia Cottage was a very enjoyable one. Fabulous location, being so close to many places of interest, including beautiful beaches. The welcome pack was really delicious too. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped, the views across the fields at the back of the house teamed with wildlife, as well as being home to a lovely white horse. We very much hope to stay again.

A lovely little bungalow, conveniently located for exploring the Northumbrian coast. A very relaxing getaway.

It was a very nice cottage with a lovely garden that meant when the weather is good the sun is in the garden all day. We didn’t really think it was suitable for four adults as the bedrooms although quite well appointed were not large. Also we had to park on the road and twice we were called out to move the car because a very large combine harvester was going through the village.

This is an amazing cottage in terms of decor and equipment, pretty garden too overlooking a field of sheep. Quiet and restful, a little haven. Absolutely nothing to fault it. Initially I was just a tad concerned about my car parked on the road but all was well!

Fuchsia cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. There is parking on the street and we were able to park outside the front door every night we were there. The sitting room is comfy with lots of books to choose from and tv if preferred. The weather was kind to us so we did not use the log burner which would be lovely in cooler months I’m sure. The kitchen diner was where we spent a lot of time it was very spacious and looked out to the lovely garden. There is seating on the patio and nothing behind the cottage except a field.
We visited Seahouses (approx 7 miles) a couple of times and Alnwick (approx 8 miles) Barter Books a must. We went down to the coast at Alnmouth, as we both have mobility issues lots of the other beautiful beaches in the area were not so accessible. Lots of good places to eat in the area also. We particularly enjoyed The Joiners Arms.

We had a lovely week at Fuscia cottage and was a perfect base to travel to the nearby coastal villages and towns. The cottage was very comfortable and peaceful. Northumberland is a beautiful part of the country and we wouldn’t hesitate to return again. The people are very friendly and helpful. Coquet cottages were excellent to book through and were courtesies and efficient throughout the process. Thank you

We normally stay on the coast but were so pleased with this location. V quiet and beautiful scenery including a horse & donkey in the paddock behind the cottage. Property itself is obviously v well maintained and everything you need. It’s a bit tight in the front bedroom for a double bed but the beds are v comfortable.

Great communication from the hosts, the cottage was cosy and very well appointed.
Location was fantastic, only a short drive to some lovely beaches and Alnwick itself.
Would definitely stay again.

Fuschia Cottage is an excellent base for exploring Northumberland. Its central location makes it ideal for any direction you may choose. It is very clean and well equipped with quality fittings. Beds are very comfy and the log burner keeps you toasty. Our sister is returning in July.

From the moment we walked into Fuchsia Cottage we were impressed, it’s a real home from home. The living room has comfortable seating with lots of books and a lovely log fire. The beds are SO comfortable and ample storage for clothes. The kitchen / diner is bright and has everything you could possibly want in a kitchen, and a welcome pack left by the owners was a lovely touch. The bathroom has a shower and a lovely bath to have a dip after a long day walking in this beautiful county.
The house overall has been finished to a very high standard, using top brands and a fantastic eye for detail. The garden at the back is a bonus looking out on to fields behind. Parking right outside the door, what more could you ask for …. We will definitely be back!

As soon as we walked over the threshold we felt at home and knew that we have chosen the perfect cottage for our much needed break. So cosy, so comfortable and so well equipped, and the kitchen was so light and airy overlooking the garden, which was perfect to sit and watch the sun go down. Perfect base for seeking out everything Northumberland has to offer. We will certainly book again!
