Cowslip Barn at Cavil Head near Warkworth Village is a gorgeous stone barn conversion on a small, peaceful development of a handful of other lovely properties and is perfect for both families and friends holidaying together. With the exception of a handful of steps internally, Cowslip Barn is almost all ground level which may suit any guests with limited mobility. Cowslip Barn sleeps 5 guests and has a private, enclosed garden, private off-road parking, a wood-burning stove, and is dog-friendly. Free Wi-Fi. Morwick ice cream parlour is within a very easy walk.

We have used Coquet cottages before due to the quality of their properties. This was no exception. The barn is beautifully appointed and well maintained. The layout was excellent for our family, we travelled with elderly parents one of whom has mobility issues. Other than a couple of steps into the living room, with a helpful handrail, the barn is all on one level. Great sized rooms and 2 patios, a lovely big garden with a fabulous view! Only issue for me was there’s no decent pub in walking distance, other than the Rigg and furrow brewery tap which is 45mins on the road which is a bit hairy! This is open at the weekends. We had a wonderful stay and Mike the owner was really friendly and helpful.

Our party consisted of grandparents, daughter, 4 year old granddaughter and a dog and we all loved Cowslip Barn. The rooms are spacious and immaculate and the garden was ideal for child and dog. It is peacefully situated in the countryside but a short drive to Amble, Warkworth and Druridge Bay Country Park. The owner, Mike, is charming and helpful. Hopefully we shall return.

The property was spotless, well maintained and equipped, and very comfortable. The bathrooms are lovely with great showers. The beds were super comfortable.The garden is amazing with the most spectacular views and sun ALL day. It is so peaceful-you can't hear anything apart from the birds.

The digital guidebook was worth its weight in gold in terms of information and recommendations and photos and so easy to use. The owner also provided information in the Barn as to places to visit and his recommendations for beaches, eateries, etc. The welcome hamper was a really nice touch with some home made cake.

The communication from the owner and Coquet Cottages was excellent.

We genuinely can't fault Cowslip.

We loved our stay in Cowslip and will be rebooking in the future.

Delighted with our week at Cowslip barn. I had taken my Father away to celebrate his 90th birthday with other family members - it was perfect!

All on one level. Great bathrooms all on one level - spacious. So well equipped. Couldn’t have been more comfortable. A great location - perfect for everything - beach, castles, supermarkets. A fabulous collection of goodies on arrival. Communication with Mike the owner was superb. 10/10 couldn’t recommend highly enough - hurry up and book - we’ll be back!

Stayed at Cowslip for week early in May. The property is spacious, well equipped clean and comfortable. It's in a very rural location so a car is needed to basically go anywhere, which was not a problem for us. It has a huge secure back garden, so would be very suitable for children and dogs. We visited with my elderly mother, so being all on one floor was of great help. It is about 10-15 mins drive from both Amble and Alnmouth so very well situated to visit Northumberland. Mike the owner was very helpful, responsive and easy to contact. Would recommend and would stay again - what's not to like!

Peaceful area within easy reach of many tourist areas and shops. Accommodation on one level which is ideal for us. Our dog had a great time in the large garden. Host friendly and helpful.

Fabulous barn conversion in a pretty location. All on one level for hubby with mobility problems and a wonderful garden for the pooch to race around in. Delicious welcome basket, thank you, and generally very cosy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cowslip Barn, Cavil Head. It is set in a beautiful location, very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle.
The barn is beautifully equipped to a high standard, very spacious and had everything we needed.
The garden is large and dog friendly so our little Jack Russell loved his stay too.
We would definitely stay at this property again.

This is a great cottage. Finished to a really high standard. Loads of room and a fantastic garden for the kids and dogs. Close to Amble and the beaches at Druridge Bay and Warkworth - great location too!
