We have stayed in this lovely cottage many times and it is a great base for exploring the area. It is cosy and warm with a wood burner and also a patio outside. Everything is provided to make your stay very comfortable with a great welcome basket too.

Really lovely period cottage with nice furnishings and very well equipped.
Hosts were very helpful and friendly.
Parking and access round the back of the cottage - with some steps down to traverse to the door.
Quiet location - handy for A607 - with reasonable pub beside.
Nice sunny sitting area outside - but of course it rained.
Well placed for visiting all the major sites in Northumberland, particularly Cragside NT and Rothburt, a charming village up the Coquet Valley. Also close to St Oswald's Way hiking route.

This was a return visit to Coquet Cottage and it is a very comfortable cottage with everything you need and in an ideal position for visiting the Northumberland area. Thank you Lorraine and Paul for a lovely time and the amazing lemon drizzle cake.

This was the second visit to Northumberland with my wife. Previously we'd visited the coastal beached, castles and Holy and Farne Islands. This time, the cottage, location between Alnwick and Morpeth, was a good base for walking in the Cheviot Hills with the A697 providing a convenient artery from which to branch out.
Lorraine had thought of everything we could possibly need to keep us going when most main meals were bought out. The on-line guide compiled for the cottage, and provided a few weeks before we visited, gave us lots of options for pubs and restaurants. The one day when the weather closed in and the heavens opened, our trip to Alnwick and Barter Books was cut short. (So many others had the same idea for a wet day!) We returned to the cottage and kept comfortable by lighting the log burner, reading and delving into the many guide books and maps provided for planning future visits.
Our ratings show how much we enjoyed our stay at the cottage and its position within beautiful and accessible surroundings.
Many thanks for providing all things necessary for a wonderful stay.

Loved our stay. We settled into the cottage straightaway due to its cosines and the little touches-flowers, edibles, magazines!
Well placed for Cragside, Anwick, the coast, Morpeth etc Parking space a bit tight but manageable.
Plenty of information and reading matter available. Didn't quite get to grips with the tv but we are dinosaurs and preferred the scrabble anyway! Highly recommend.

Booked this as a last minute getaway as we love the area.
Welcomed on arrival by the owner Loraine who ran through every thing we would need to know. Welcome basket was lovely, with bonus of scones from the local renowned bakery,
We had a lovely surprise visit from Lorraine who gave us a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my wife’s birthday, lovely gesture the we really appreciated.
As a base for doing all the things we wanted to do, this was ideal and is located in a very small hamlet with the Anglers arms within a stones throw, great food.
Lorraine & Paul, the owners are lovely, and we could thoroughly recommend as a quiet getaway but with easy access to main roads for further exploration of this lovely county.
Having a bird feeder just outside the kitchen window was a real bonus too, saw our first nuthatch up close!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a shame that one road is closed until next year as it meant we were unable to cycle to Brinkburn but we will return. Lovely to watch birds from both the kitchen and living room window. Owners next door very friendly and recommended Stanton Hall and gardens which we didn’t know about. There is plenty to do in the area and a pub on the doorstep. We didn’t venture far as we were happy exploring a new part of Northumberland which is less touristy than further north.

We had a wonderful week relaxing and recharging in this beautiful cottage. Lots of lovely walks and also enjoyed food and drink at the pub at the end of the row.
