Our first reaction on entering this property was WOW.The property itself is stunning as is the view and the owner has thought of everything.We not only chose it for it’s position but also as we are both in our 70s the fact it has a lift is a real bonus.A short stroll took us to many restaurants and we also used the bus to outlying villages and towns.Will definitely return hopefully in the near future.

This is beautifully furnished and well equipped apartment with everything well thought out to make the most of your stay. Wonderful to have allocated parking close to entrance and a lift to take cases etc up to second floor. The welcome hamper was lovely, as were the fresh flowers. The only criticism would be there is a lower hob, suitable for someone in a wheelchair, ( which is wonderful) but this does means the cooker hood is very low and it is easy to catch the side of your head on it, something my husband did a couple of times. The balcony is lovely to sit on and watch the boats and birds - we saw a heron and oyster catcher digging in the mud at low tide - such a beautiful setting!

This was our second visit and hope to return. It is ideal for us, my husband isn’t very mobile and it is in a fantastic place right by the harbour. Can park the car outside and there is a lift up which is right beside the apartment door. It is extremely comfortable, would like the same bed at home! There is everything you need, the welcome pack was great. The views are amazing, just sorry we couldn’t use the balcony, far too windy. It is an easy walk to some lovely eating places and I enjoyed a pre breakfast walk each morning round the harbour. Looked at availability later this year, maybe October, the weather can’t be any worse though it did remain dry. Thoroughly recommended



Lovely place to stay, excellent base for exploring the Northumbrian coast and walks.

A lovely apartment in which we have stayed 3 times now. It is spotless, spacious, well equipped and in a good location with fantastic views of the estuary and marina. Walking distance to several restaurants and shops.
Our only quibble about our latest stay was the comfort of the chair and one of the sofas. They are now very soggy, and we found it impossible to get comfortable on them, not good for my back!
Also, the Wi-Fi signal was quite weak in some areas of the living room.

Breakwater is a beautiful apartment, well equipped and very comfortable. This was our 3rd stay and we'll be back next year. The Welcome hamper is full of lovely foods and the apartment is always spotlessly clean. One of the best things is the views over the marina, Warkworth Castle and the sea. And the fabulous sunsets. Amble has some great restaurants all within a few minutes walk of the apartment. It's a fabulous base for a holiday.

We spent a very relaxing 4 nights here. It was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with the exception of larger serving bowls for sharing salads, veg etc.
One thing we didn’t receive was the ‘welcome pack’ which was a shame. All that we had in the basket were some sachets of tea/coffee/hot choc.
We would definitely make a return visit.

This was our second stay at Breakwater so we were aware of location & parking & keysafe. The welcome hamper was excellent providing everything needed for our first couple of days & more.
We were however a tad disappointed that faults had not been rectified i.e. leaking from the seal of over bath shower onto floor which necessitated placing a towel on the floor to mop up water. The dining tabletop actually upended owing to lack of peg being inserted properly. In general for the price paid we found Breakwater is becoming “tired” and in need of refreshing. Having said all that I would still recommend Breakwater.

This is a stunning property overlooking the harbour at Amble. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and decorated and equipped with everything you could need for a stay in a holiday apartment. It looks exactly as it does in the photos. Directions were clear and all communications were friendly and responsive. Parking and lift access up to the apartment were bonuses. I would love to stay there again.

We loved this well finished, tasteful apartment in a great location. Whilst we really enjoy exploring the Northumbrian coast and castles it was also lovely to sit back and watch the changing light over the water with views to Warkworth.
Thank you for your thoughtful welcome pack and thanks too to the very meticulous cleaning team - as I'm immune compromised this really does make me feel safer.

Fabulous location and a well presented apartment and we had a lovely time. Very comfortable beds and a good standard of fittings, with a generous welcome hamper. There were one or two niggles which we will convey to the owner direct to help future tenants.

We had a great week in this lovely apartment with stunning views over the marina, out to sea and up the river Coquet to Warkworth Castle. Kitchen well supplied with plenty cutlery, crockery & wine glasses - all matching!! Good pans also. Thank you for the welcome hamper.

We loved the apartment, the balcony, view of the marina and some beautiful sunsets. Spacious, comfortable and well appointed we liked everything about it, the close proximity to the town and some very fine restaurants. Couldn't fault it.

We loved staying at Breakwater and are hoping to return again. It is ideally situated right by the harbour, couldn’t be situated any better. Everything about it was brilliant, we have been to Northumberland many times but never stayed atAmble, it’s now our new favourite place.

The view over the marina from this apartment is stunning. Bird life on the estuary is in abundance. Consequently it was no hardship to spend an afternoon inside on occasion. The rooms are stylishly furnished and there are a wide range of utensils. The location is perfect for access to a wide range of NT properties and many beautiful beaches close by. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance and a choice of supermarkets. An outstanding holiday destination!

Apartment is close to everything and very close to a great coffee shop, an interesting harbour and an excellent cheese shop. Views are great and everything is comfortable and works. We would book again and would recommend to anyone without hesitation.
