The Baker's Dozen is a gorgeous luxury apartment in The Maltings, a historic converted brewery in the centre of Alnwick. Sleeping up to 3 guests in 2 bedrooms; 1 super-king and 1 large single bedroom. There's 1 private car parking space and the apartment is suitable for those who are less mobile, with level access from the car park to the front door and throughout the apartment, using a lift. Apartment was in a great location with available parking space Very well equipped in the kitchen area bedrooms & bathroom & living area well presented. Unless I missed this piece of information we did not have code to enter the actual building however others visiting were around to help. My mistake if this was provided by the company.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Baker's Dozen. The apartment is in a well maintained, very tidy and clean building and the car parking was allocated, so good off street parking. The apartment itself was well equipped, everything worked, shower was hot and with good pressure. The balcony caught the evening sun (by which time the car park over which it looks had emptied). The super king bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and the apartment (and building in general) was generally very quiet. We would stay in the same apartment again.

The positives:
1 Location very convenient for walking into the town-but also see negatives.
2 Very clean and modern
3 Easy to keep tidy
4 The bed was very comfortable
5 The overall development is very nice and well looked after
The negatives:
1 The photos are quite misleading and seem to be taken with a fish eye lens .It is very small -fine for 2 people but if there is a third person using the second bedroom you would be struggling for space.
2 the noise! It was very warm so we had to sleep with the windows open and for some strange reason the area is incredibly noisy .There is a speed bump on the adjoining road and boy racers seemed to love hitting that throughout the night .The little balcony doesn't have a great view overlooking a car park but to be fair we knew that from other reviews before we went .What we weren't prepared for was an articulated lorry parking there overnight ( photo available) and then loading incredibly noisily from 5am onwards .It is very convenient for Morrisons store but that does involve the noise off the shutters banging at all hours-so surprisingly not a peaceful place .
3 The leaving arrangements -I am sorry but why do rental companies post Covid still try to get you to do part of their job and ask for beds to be stripped off -just charge another £10 on the fee.Of course as a matter of pride we wouldn't leave a place dirty but this is just managing agents greed.

We’d like to clarify that our photos are not taken with a fish-eye lens. We aim to represent the space as accurately as possible, and to further support transparency, we also provide a full 3D virtual tour of the property so guests can explore each room and get a true sense of the layout and scale before booking. Regarding the noise, we’re truly sorry this was an issue during your stay. As the property is located in the town centre, some level of external noise is unfortunately to be expected—particularly during warmer months when windows are open. While we understand this can be disruptive, the adjacent car park is council-managed and outside the owner's control, including the timing and type of vehicles that may use it. As for the request to strip beds, we understand this may feel inconvenient. This small gesture is entirely optional and simply helps our housekeeping team turn the property around more efficiently. However, your feedback is appreciated. We’re grateful for your comments and hope that, despite these issues, you were still able to enjoy your time in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at the Baker’s Dozen. The location is excellent and parking was easy. The flat was very comfortable and well-equipped, although, as others have noted, it would be quite cramped with 3 people (we were only 2 so it was fine). The experience was let down by the rather cheap customer service in terms of the welcome hamper which did not match the expectations suggested by the Coquet Cottages marketing (no pint of milk, just 6 small sachets, tiny bottles of bath gel and shampoo, and watered down washing up liquid). This just spoiled what was otherwise a lovely relaxing week.

Such a shame a badly stained carpet in the bedroom spoiled what would have been an excellent stay. Property could benefit from a fan as it was very hot.

The Bakers Dozen couldn’t have been more central. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the Castle and on the doorstep to the town. It had everything you would need. It was lovely and warm when we arrived and despite the weather turning cooler we never had to use the heating.

The Baker's Dozen is a well equipped, quiet and comfortable apartment in a converted Malthouse a short walk from the centre of Alnwick.
The apartment has an allocated parking space in the residents only parking area. There is a lift or stairs to the apartment and entry to the apartment block is by coded keypad.
The Baker's Dozen has all the equipment needed for a comfortable stay, including a small balcony which can be accessed from the living room and main bedroom. The balcony is west facing and overlooks a public car park which was busy in the morning, but not used from around 5 pm onwards.
There was a lovely welcome pack which included two small bottles of wine and fresh milk and butter in the fridge.

A small cosy flat for three for a weekend ,but for a week would best suit two.It was not maintained to the usual Coquet Cottages standard.Being in our eighties storage of crockery was not good being on low shelf.

We have stayed at this apartment block previously but at another apartment booked with Coquet. The apartment was clean, modern, tastefully furnished with all the amenities close by.in Alnwick. We booked fairly late but was not disappointed, the fact this apartment had a balcony was a plus and we did make use of it. The bed was particularly comfortable and large. Just the two of us but the extra bedroom was lovely. We were celebrating my husbands birthday so we ate out each day so the kitchen was given a break but looking round it was very well equipped for self catering. We would definitely stay there again.

We spent at week at Bakers Dozen and found the flat excellent. All instructions from C Cottages, timely and comprehensive. The flat is spacious, well equipped and quiet too. Beds and bedding very good and large bath sheets a bonus. Not overlooked and with pleasant open view from the sitting room/ bedroom. On site parking was great and easy walk into town suited us well. We would definitely recommend and hope to return.

A good base in Alnwick and close to the places we wanted to be. Close to shops and, if you didn’t want to use the car, the local bus station was close by.
Apartment was clean and well equipped though instructions for some appliances were missing. Welcome pack not as comprehensive as some Coquet Cottages properties.

This is a handy apartment in Alnwick for visiting many places in the area. Alnwick has lots of independent shops and some great pubs as well as the castle and garden. Very comfortable beds and sofas and a well equipped kitchen. The parking is easy and begin opposite Morrisons is very handy. I would stay here again.

A really nice stay at The Bakers Dozen. The location in Alnwick is perfect for exploring anywhere in the town which also has a range of excellent eateries. The Bakers Dozen is very comfortable and well equipped and perfect for our weeks stay in Northumberland.

Parking in Alnwick can be at a premium so the pre-allocated parking at the old brewery is a bonus.

Stayed here for a 4 night break, position of the apartment is excellent (we knew this as stated in another one in the complex in 2020 booked via Coquet)! The size of the apartment was somewhat disappointing.. maximum 3 people! The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness, I immediately reported this to Coquet and they via the owners sent a cleaning team. Unfortunately this didn’t rectify the majority of this issues as the place needs a deep clean!

Ideal base to explore the area.
Apartment was excellent with good quality fixtures and fittings and two good beds so no bad backs.
There is a good tv, a Bluetooth speaker even a PlayStation thing if you’re that way inclined.
The kitchen is well stocked with every thing you’d need. The building is secure and car parking is right outside.
Probably one of the very best holiday cottages/apartments that I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in 100’s
You won’t be disappointed.
