Squire Farm is located in the beautiful Redlake Valley in South Shropshire, not far from the historic town of Ludlow. It comprises two very different self-catering cottages on a small working farm with sheep, horses, chickens, dogs and cats - and guinea fowl. The farm access is via a farm track, which means that the property is generally quiet, peaceful and secure. There are lots of walks from the farm with beautiful views and breathtaking scenery; it has been a highly contested area in the past and has plenty of history to explore, including a hill fort within a few hundred metres of the door.
This was our 4th stay at Squire Cottage and it never fails to delight. The house is quirky and interesting and such a pleasure to stay it. All the furnishings are comfortable and the beds are excellent. The kitchen is well equipped, although obviously coronavirus restrictions mean there is slightly less than usual. However the pre-stay information was very clear about this. Easy parking and access. The back garden has been improved and is really fabulous, especially for breakfast!
Becky and Peter are delightful - very helpful but never intrusive.
We will definitely be back
Xidong had everything we could wish for, we found it to be clean, comfortable and well equipped. The garden and cottage were totally private and it was heavenly to sit out in the evening watching birds swoop down to drink from the pond.
There were any number of walks right from the cottage door and we also explored many or castle ruins, markets and small villages in the area.
We found that all the information we needed was supplied and although the owns were on hand if needed they were happy to leave us in peace. Highly recommended.
