We spent a week at the Forte Village in mid-August with 3 children aged 18, 16 and 12. This is definitely a family holiday - there's loads to keep children entertained though kids over 18 may eventually not find it so entertaining. Boxing, rugby, go-Karting and the disco were brilliant. There's a good choice of restaurants though many were booked well in advance and sadly we were unable to get into them which was annoying to say the least. We stayed at Castello - breakfasts were wonderful, an absolute treat. The grounds are safe, well-kept and the rooms are clean, if a little tired looking - some furniture is scuffed, paint is flaking, lifts are old and slow. The electric vehicles are great as well as the bicycles that are available for hire to get around. Evening entertainment is steady and varied - singers, performers, dancers, fashion shows and a limited number of excellent shops. The beach staff are courteous - they have the tricky task of allocating limited sun loungers: immediate reservation upon arrival is highly recommended. Castello reception staff could be more efficient with answering queries and a few poorly-behaved Russians should be anticipated!

Top Class 5 star resort
The food was excellent
The service in every restaurant we went in whether at lunchtime or dinner time was very poor even when the majority of food was self service buffet. The only good service was The Steak restaurant because they only had five tables in that night. There were plenty of staff but tables were not cleared for 10/20minutes after people had left so new people could not enter, this happened all the time from breakfast to dinner. The food ran out regularly in the buffet and was not replaced for 10 minutes says eggs , beans , rice , etc etc, very annoying for such a prestigious hotel. The beach beds were reserved for the first five days of our stay and impossible to find a chair until after lunch although there were plenty of beds but had been reserved with no shows. The system needs to be changed. the pool by the beach was brilliant with a very coconscious person running the system who kept the pool and surroundings immaculate. The drinks service on the beach and the pool by the beach did not work as the staff virtually didn't t come round and kept themselves scarce but could be found chanting at the bars to each other instead of working and using the excuse they were very busy today and short staffed. the only exception was a girl at the swimming pool who was very good , but when she was not on duty the system failed.
The worst was our rooms (two joint rooms) were left open for 3 hours after we went to dinner by a maid and the door open
for anybody to enter. we informed the night manager at the time.
These are just a few small occurrence's and there were more , that detract from such a nice setting and good holiday but to
boast to be the best you have to back it up with service which was not evident top me during this stay especially when it did not appear that the resort was full or anywhere near.

Beautiful location and well kept mature gardens are superior
Very friendly people and generally a very happy place to be.
Secure and fun place for families, with a relaxed approach so you can virtually do what you want.
Not cheap and lacks 5 star service with the buffet staff being so stretched, but it is an iconic place to be. Any one going with the attitude of getting a lot of bang for their buck will be disappointed and would be better off going elsewhere.

Don't go to Forte expecting service to match your spend!

Those expecting high levels of service and excellent food to match the price paid for a week should avoid Forte. However the well established grounds, pools and beach are spectacular and the facilities are amazing. People are accommodating and friendly, if perhaps a little disorganised at times. Despite the negatives we had a fantastic time and are going again next year :-)
