Welcome to our collection of five star self catering luxury Dorset cottages; four of which boast stunning locations on the UNESCO world heritage Jurassic Coast, close to the pretty village of Abbotsbury and one nestled in the picturesque village of Melbury Osmond, deep in Hardy's Wessex. All our cottages have WiFi, flat screen TVs, dishwashers, range cookers, American fridge/freezers, Tassimo machines, washing machines, tumble dryers, private off road parking, private gardens and very comfortable beds with high quality Egyptian cotton sheets and goose feather and down duvets and pillows. We also welcome dogs, by arrangement.
We expected luxury accommodation and were disappointed. The two huge settees are the most uncomfortable things to sit on as your legs can't reach the ground. The cups, glasses, plates etc. are located in a lower kitchen cupboard which means you have to stoop to reach into the cupboard to get them. The property is marketed for those with restricted mobility but none of the bathrooms are suitable. It would be to the benefit of the owners to have one of the down stairs bathrooms with a walk-in shower. The location was lovely and there are some great walks which means no driving. 5 adults who loved this barn conversion. It was extremly well equipped and spacious. We always look for something special/unusual and East View did not disappoint It was in a rural location with lovely walks that the dog and humans loved. Secure garden for our four legged friend! Tennis courts were a great bonus. Only thing missing was a bbq which i presume may be missing due to the thatched roof. We would return and would also use luxury cottages Dorset to book another cottage. Quote from daughter and son 'best family holiday since Florida!'
The Cow Byre holiday cottage is situated in a fantastic location for anyone wishing to explore the Jurassic coast line. From the rear of the cottage there are uninterrupted views of the beautiful Dorset countryside. The cottage is only a short walk from the South West Coastal Path.
The internal of the cottage was maintained to a high standard, with all the mod cons required. Externally the garden was dog and child friendly.
From a customer service viewpoint the service was excellent , from the booking of the cottage, and whilst there in the cottage. We experienced a problem with one of the...more
We all enjoyed staying at The Stables; plenty of room for all of us and a fantastic location with wonderful views! We had a great stay although a couple of niggles - this kitchen is only just kitted out for 8 and misses some of the extra touches you get when renting privately; the welcome pack was minimal and the cleaning was only adequate and not great (dead flies around the carpet in the lounge and some of the kitchen items were dirty).
However, we had a good time and would consider a further stay.
