This is the thiird time we have returned to Templars at Spittall with Border Holidays. The location is fabulous - turn left out of the door, down a path and you are on a gorgeous beach with promenade you can walk the full length of the beach. It is 5 mins from A1 so travelling to other places in Nothumberland and Scotland is really easy. There is an M and S foodhall and Asda within 5 minutes so shopping is not a problem. The apartment is fantastic. Very comfy and has everything you need for an excellent stay. It is great that we could take our dog away with us.Christine and John provide great ...more
Morebattle has a well-stocked village shop and a well-stocked local hotel / pub. Kelso is only 15 minutes away and is a pretty town with full range of shops plus the vibrant river Tweed and impressive Floors Castle. We were meeting relatives, outside only of course, and so not walking the impressive hills that surround the village, walking info provided in the accommodation. Cottage small and cosy. I couldn't turn down the bedroom radiator so upstairs was very cosy. I would also emphasis the spiral staircase .... getting a large suitcase up it would be tricky so pack more and smaller cases in...more
Lovely cosy flat with great views over the harbour and estuary to the town walls of Berwick - stunning reflection on the water as the full moon rose. The old bridge was closed while we were there which made the walk into town a bit longer - but great views of the rail bridge as you cross the new road bridge. As ever a lovely welcome hamper with local produce.
Such a lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful village. Close to tourist attractions and walks. We loved the peace and quiet and the little touches ie Welcome basket . Our 3rd time and we will definitely be booking again x
The cottage was fine but calling it 'luxury' is stretching the definition to unacceptable levels.Apart from this the door handle in the lounge was not attached. There were no instructions that we could find to activate the underfloor heating. Some of the items promised in the welcome pack were not there eg milk(could have been crucial) beer shortbread. However the cottage was comfortable and an ideal base to explore the area.
Lovely cosy, well equipped, spotless cottage in a quiet village on the English-Scottish border. Ideal for exploring the borders and coastal areas of Northumberland. We would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday cottage and hope to be able to visit ourselves again in the future.
