Fantastic campsite, well equipped, helpful and stunning scenery. We stayed for it's location close to Scarfel Pike, however would happily come back and stay for longer. Plot 8 had amazing views down the valley and sat slightly back from the main camping area.
Very enjoyable 4 night stay,the static caravan was very comfortable,no problems,will visit again hopefully.
The second time staying at Parkgate, it was just right, lovely views, warm, facilities brilliant, especially as I’ve got dogs to, just right couldn’t be any better, hopefully be back again soon, Thankyou.

A great couple of days at Parkgate Farm..This small site offers superb pitches...we had pitch 4 with electric hook up... the site is in a great location, great tranquility, views and general vibe! Plenty of walks to hand Wardens Sandy and Bruce were very welcoming, many thanks!!
Our third year on the trot here. We absolutely love coming to Gap Cottage. If you’re looking for all mod cons this isn’t for you, but if you want to get away from modern life this will be perfect for you.
Hands down one of the best campsites in the Lake District. Small, very friendly and welcoming with stunning views down the valley We will definitely be back to see Bruce and Sandy again
We booked for a couple of nights as we were climbing Scafell Pike, it is in a great location for that. The site has everything that you would need. Tolilets/Showers are the cleanest I’ve seen on a campsite and the site is very well looked after. Bruce and Sandy were very friendly and were there for anything you might need. The Camping pod itself was perfect for what we needed and very cosy.
Lovely, clean pod. Beautiful camp site. Great views out of the large lounge window. A sunny April weekend made our stay even more pleasant, but I can imagine being cosy in the pod on a cold day. Helpful staff. Fine for 3 of us but could have slept a couple more. Recommended.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Miterdale cottage.The cottage was clean and well supplied.As we are not able to rent a car we found the Muncaster microbus a great asset for grocery shopping. The opening of a village shop at the Pennington will be very helpful.The addition of a regular bus route is now great for visiting nearby villages.Last year we sat out most days on the deck looking out over the Irish Sea but this year the weather didn’t cooperate which didn’t stop us being able to hike all the trails around Ravenglass. Park Gate Farm is a lovely, small and quiet site in a beautiful part of the Lake District. The wardens are welcoming, friendly and keep the site and facilities very clean and well maintained and the donkeys are always pleased to see anyone bearing carrots! It is a peaceful area with some lovely cafes nearby and plenty of walking from the site itself.
We had a fantastic stay at Parkgate Farm Holidays. Sandy and Bruce, the site wardens, gave us a warm welcome on arrival and were incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The facilities were spotless, and the little shop was a lovely addition, stocking thoughtful items such as pre-made smores kits, tent pegs, walking poles, and much more. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay — we would highly recommend it!
We had a great holiday at Park gate farm in a very nice pod which had a fabulous view from its large window. The pod was clean and perfect for the two of us though I think five might have been a bit of a squash. We had several great days out at the beach, on the train at Ravensglass and at Muncaster castle.
Absolutely stunning location great pitches and facilities , toilets spotless hosts communication spot on , highly recommended I will be back ❤️
What an amazing site we originally was camping in our roof tent unfortunately the weather got the better of us and we had to take the tent down before it got damaged i rang Rachel in panic to see if they had anything we could stay in they put us in one of their amazing caravans for the night, Lovely helpful people so friendly and understanding thank you so much lovely clean camp site we cant wait to come back when the weather is better.
Very welcoming and well maintained site, stunning views and easy access to the Western Lake District, the wardens were very warm and welcoming.
Picture perfect, pitch ideal, campsite very well maintained, facilities kept immaculate, staff friendly and helpful and lovely little touches like essentials left with honesty box to pay so no trouble with shop closing times and toys left to keep kids entertained. A realy well thought about campsite , would love to go and stay again.
Another great break at Parkgate Farm caravans. Clean, tidy and comfy great for us a d the dogs. Loads to do close by or from the door.
Immaculate - the whole site is superb and can’t be faulted. The hosts are friendly and approachable. To be greeted on our arrival by the use of my first name was excellent!
Park Gate Farm is a fabulous site, in a great location, and we had a lovely holiday. That said, while we booked Harter Cottage, knowing the facilities were basic, we were a little disappointed to find some aspects were also in poor condition. For example, the outdoor patio area was dangerous due to loose, uneven paving slabs. The large sofa was also well past its useful life with a broken spring. Overall, the cottage would benefit from some fresh investment to update facilities.
