The Clachan Cottage was a perfect, relaxing base for exploring Perthshire and basking in the beauty of nature and history. There are so many beautiful walks within a reasonable drive. It was easy to run to Pitlochry for a meal out or to buy groceries, and even faster to pop into House of Bruar for high end treats at their food hall. The cottage was nicely furnished and spotless, with a huge kitchen and comfortable, spacious living room. The beds had the best pillows of all the places we stayed at in Scotland. The Atholl Estates were very helpful and responsive, and patient with my numerous ema...more

Beautiful cottage, set in delightful location. Peaceful and tranquil. A joy to stay. We were very sad to leave.
The Lapwing Shepherds Hut at Atholl Estate didn't just meet our expectations; it absolutely shattered even our highest ones! This gem is in a truly perfect location: an easy two-hour drive from Edinburgh and just a short ride to charming towns like Pitlochry, Dunkeld, and Perth. It's wonderfully remote enough to offer unparalleled tranquility, yet perfectly close to amenities for comfort and exploration. The hut itself was far more comfortable than we'd anticipated. Despite its compact size, it felt perfectly adequate, especially since you have acres of private space right outside your door...more
Very comfortable and well equipped cabin. We loved the peace and birdsong and the location was ideal for walks up the hill and exploring the area.
We had such a lovely time in Hazel. So peaceful, so comfortable. We loved the forest and the walk into Dunkeld, where we got delicious food & wine. The cabin is so beautifully finished and comfortable - we felt so at home and happy there! Easy to access and everything worked perfectly. Thank you.
All the comforts of home and against a beautifully restored background of a cozy cottage at the end of a one-track-road. Well equipped kitchen and audio visual gear.
Great location for the Highland Games. Wonderful walks directly from the property. Overall property very comfortable for 3 people and very nice to have the laundry. Would definitely recommend to others!
We had a marvellous stay at this special place. The remote location provides a unique and peaceful retreat. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning.
Beautiful location with amazing view, peaceful and Relaxing. Very private even though other cabins nearby. Willow was lovely inside, comfortable and pretty much everything you need. It is also great for walks to Loch Ordie, Loch Lowes and more and you can walk into Dunkeld no problem or 5 mins drive if you don’t want the wee hill. The outdoor seating area faced the Loch and we sat outside to late in the evening. Lovely in the morning too for breakfast with the sunshine. We lucked out on the weather. We were very last minute bookers, followed the advice on website to phone a number to do th...more
Very relaxing stay in excellent accommodation, and a beautiful area. The log fire was a great hit as we had snow. Will definitely visit again.
Having found the shepherds hut up a secluded driveway we were stunned by the view, even rain couldn’t stop us from admiring the amazing Scottish countryside. The hut was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for our short stay. Having booked in June we weren’t expecting to need the fire or heating but it was very welcome as the weather turned and so we lit the fire. We particularly enjoyed seeing the deer run across the field infront of us one evening and the birds joining us each morning. A lovely stay - thank you for finding a great spot to put the hut!
Our 15th (?) year of our two families getting together in Easter holidays for long walks, cycles, games, and family meals. As the kids have got older they have dipped in and out depending on university, other holidays, work commitments etc. but everyone is clear they want to keep coming back to this beautiful old house with family connections from the 1950's. One of the main charms of Old Blair is how comfortable and relaxed it is. It is in lovely condition but not so smart that it lacks character. It is our special home when we visit
Le cottage need some upgrades on the fourniture, the water pression in the showher is very very low, the road is a real track and for cars can be a problem.
Fantastic time away. Secluded bliss in a wonderful location. Cabin had everything you would need and more! Can’t wait to go book as could only stay two days. The scenery was gorgeous could have sat there forever and the outdoor bath was the cherry on the top!
This is a charming and really well equipped lodge with great atmosphere. The rooms are large and it is a warm house.
