The Barn Cottage exceeded our expectations, it has obviously been converted to a very high standard, with beautiful luxurious fixtures and decor. The cottage was spotlessly clean, the garden very tidy and we were left some lovely treats from the farm shop. Parking was directly outside the door, the garden was fully enclosed for the dogs and we were able to get a grocery delivery from Sainsbury's who found us no issue. We had a great time staying at Wooladon House for some birthday celebrations. The house was spacious, clean and perfect for daytime and evening entertainment (pool table, fire pit etc.). The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed, too. The Wooladon team were also very attentive and helpful during our stay. Lauren provided fire wood and BBQ equipment/fuel, and even sorted alternative arrangements for breakfast when we were affected by a power cut. 10/10 - thanks!
Greeted by Shona the housekeeper which was a good start to our holiday, she was very helpful during our stay and on hand if needed. The cottage was clean, comfortable & an ideal size for two. There was a generous welcome of a cream tea, milk, bread, tea and prosecco to name but a few of our arrival goodies. We enjoyed the location, great walks on our doorstep, seeing all the highland cows and the spring lambs etc. Unfortunately, I have to say that I wouldn't stay in Kingfisher Barn again due to the noise from one of the cottages directly above the bedroom area, you could hear the occupants abo...more
Spent weekend in lovely accommodation at Wooladon estate. Pheasant Barn was equipped with what is needed for a weekend break - foil, loo rolls and other little essentials already there. Attended wedding reception at Strawberry Fields (a fab local spot!) and enjoyed walking at nearby beauty spots such as Lydford Gorge, Melton Reservoir and Viaduct. Many thanks to Shona at Wooladon for finding us a bbq which we used with family on the Friday evening. Really enjoyable stay - would definitely recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay in Gatherley View. The property was well designed and provided all we needed. It was clean, comfortable and warm. The views were fantastic too. Lovely to have had milk, bread and scones there on arrival and we were greeted by the head housekeeper, which added a nice personal touch. The site was great, with lots of areas to walk the dog and was lovely and quiet. We’d definitely stay again.
Stayed at the Rookery for a family wedding nearby and party at Strawberry fields. Plenty of space for us,beds downstairs too firm for me...wish I hadn't let daughter have first dibs on rooms as hers upstairs was lovely...she also had great hot shower but downstairs were barely warm. Lovely walks around estate and I love the cows!! We also had family in other accommodation and it was lovely to get together on the patio area.
