We were advised to use the private residents access road and it was in a disgusting state full of pot holes some very deep that the car dipped, loose gravel and my partner was worried about what it was doing to his car when using it. The main bedroom the wardrobe would not open, the doors were stuck so had to use twin room unit, the bathroom especially the shower door kept coming off their runners so had to keep one closed and squeeze in and the toilet was quite low down so anyone with mobility problems might find that difficult to use. The kitchen especially the oven, someone probably a previous tenant, had obviously spilt fat in the oven and when we came to use it, there was a horrid burning smell and smoke coming out of it, so after that one attempt we never used again, it needs a thorough clean. Comfort wise it was fine and was nice having access to the veranda for the dogs but unfortunately whilst we were there a lodge across was having joiner work done so had to close the door to keep sawing noise out. Outside of cabin needed some attention, weeding. A positive, was lovely to see wildlife running around, deers, rabbits and squirrels was nice.

Would book this lodge again but not for Cowal gathering as price is to expensive and could only book for 7 nights.
I found the wooden framed slatted bed to low and the mattress to thin and uncomfortable.
It was a nuisance having to mind and switch on the ĥot water but to mind and leave it on for 30 minutes only.
The access road to the lodge is a total disgrace and only used it once then after used the main entrance.
À bonus was the dishwasher and a good size fridge freezer we loved the interior decor especially the reclining sofas.
Our dog loved to lie outside on the covered porch.
Overall our party of 4 enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed the location. Refurbished kitchen and sitting room areas were really good but bedrooms less so and beds not the most comfortable. We had to fix wardrobe and shower doors back on to their runners. Instructions need to be updated. Instructions about setting the heating would have been helpful instead of trial and error. There were instructions for operating the washing machine but there was no washing machine. Dishwasher instead was useful.
Serious concern about the potholes and state of the approach road with potential damage to vehicle.

Excellent lodge with great amenities inside and also available on site.
Peaceful and quiet in a lovely location with views of the hills and lochs.
Would definitely consider going back again for a similar stay (7 days).
Communication was accurate and timely, with a useful information pack supplied which provided detailed information about the lodge itself and also local eateries and attractions, which we checked out personally.

All in all, a great little spot for a peaceful and relaxing stay away from home.

Lovely lodge, but let down by their housekeeper. (No towels, dusty, dirty washing under single bed)
However, we did have a lovely relaxing holiday and loved the enclosed balcony...

We spent two weeks here while working on the main reception refurbishment (another two weeks were spent in other ASCH properties). The lodge was fantastic, and offered a great place to relax after a day's work. I brought my dog one week, it's a perfect hub for exploring the local area, Glen Massan, Pucks Glen and Toward's / Lamont Castle ruins to name a few! Highly Recommended !

This was an excellent lodge with all the comforts of home, well situated and easy to reach. I would however recommend that you don't use the private road as instructed, as it is full of potholes and in very poor condition.

Very disappointed with the Lodge. In need of updating and TLC. Sofas in Lounge area in poor condition especially 2 seater all taped up and ripped at the back. Twin room dressing table very badly marked with ring marks. Very uncomfortable bed. Decking area not cleaned before arrival. Very disappointed as the price charged we expected better!

Everything I needed was there in terms of home comforts ..... parking was OK
& the site location was perfect ! ... the local people were friendly too :)

The only thing I felt that needed clarifying was the central heating instructions,
there were none local to the boiler/ digital control panel !!

Otherwise everything was fine :)

Our stay at Holy Loch Lodge (2 adults + 1 child) was pleasant and enjoyable. The lodge was clean and comfortable and the area very quiet (end of August/early Sept). The cottage has more TVs than we could make use of. It is otherwise reasonably well equipped (incl. washing machine and microwave, no dish washer; fridge on the small side but sufficient for three persons for a week), except that we missed a few standard cooking utensils (cutting board etc.).

We have just returned from an enjoyable break in Holy Lodge. Holy Lodge is situated at the quieter end of the Hunters Quay site. It is a bright lodge, having a lovely, open outlook and good views. There is plenty of (grassed) space around the lodge which our daughters loved playing on. The lodge inside was a little tired but was very warm (heating and hot water very efficient) and had everything we needed for a comfortable break. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and the tv and wifi facilities worked great. Having a washing machine was useful too! Overall we had a great stay and would visit again.

Me and my partner had a lovely break in the lodge. Everything you need for a self catering break in a beautiful part of Scotland. All the facilities you require are on the site and when you get out and about it is just beautiful. If you are a out doors person then i would recommend this place, especially if you love scenery and wildlife. (red squirrels everywhere and deer feeding on the lawn). But don't just stay on the site there are some lovely walks and attractions within a short drive. All you need is the weather....

Overall the stay was enjoyable. The lodge itself needs some upgrading. The settees were slightly damaged and the shower door was faulty. All the basics that were needed were in place and it was warm enough. The TVs in both rooms and in the living room was nice to have, as it kept the kids entertained. Great location and lovely views from decking area.

We booked the lodge for a quiet celebration for my daughters 18th. Lodge was spotless and had everything you needed with maybe the exception of an extra blanket or two as it was a bit chilly at night.
Great location and apart from the terrible potholes on the way up was easy enough to find following the instructions given.
Would definitely recommend for peace and tranquility.
Thank you for a great weekend.

We booked this lodge for a weekend break.. the lodge is in a beautiful setting, and very quiet and peaceful... but the lodge it’s self does require some work, the furnishings were dated and worn, the bedding in particular was all faded and not very comfortable... the bathroom was spotless but the rest of the lodge could really do with a good clean..

We stayed over new year and had a fabulous time. 2 adults 2 kids (age 5 and 2) and a dog. The lodge has everything a young family needs and the fact there were some kids books etc we read ones we didn't have. The Internet access was a definate plus along with The washing machine. I was able to come home with little washing to do instead of case loads of it. Location was great. 5-10 minute walk to the facilities from the lodge (depends on how fast the kids go lol) will recommend to other and hopefully stay again ourselves.

The location of the log cabin was good with a nice view down to the water.
There was a lovely veranda with table and chairs which could probably be enjoyed better in the summertime.
A 10 min walk took you to Hunter's Quay activity centre with a cosy Bar Restaurant and good food.

We had a good break in Holy Loch Lodge. It had everything that we needed and lovely to see towels, soap and toilet roll provided as you don't always get in other units. Spacious living room and twin bedroom, double bedroom is too small but i guess thats how they are designed. Handy for us visiting my Grandmother in Dunoon and close to woods for walking the dog.

Have stayed in this lodge before, small issues that niggled last time have all been addressed and this increased our enjoyment of the lodge. Lovely setting, comfy lodge, easy access to nearby facilities. Would recommend.
The only negative is that bin bags are to be placed in bins located 5 minutes walk away, this is impractical as there is no access to barrier and I don't want to cart rubbish bags in my car anyway, surely the bins should be left in outside bin as was previous arrangement.

The lodge is in a lovely quiet location with beautiful views of the water and surrounding hills. The lodge has a good range of amenities to keep a family entertained. Wifi and free view telly helped entertain kids when the weather was wet. The lodge was warm, clean and comfortable, particularly enjoyed the reclining couch, very comfy. The children took advantage of the GoActive activities that were available near by, good value and lots of fun.
There were a few areas that could be improved in the lodge, the door mats inside and out are worn and tattered, the outside bin is broken, the wardrobe door in the main bedroom comes off the rails and hit me on the head twice, the cutlery is old and stained, spending a little money to replace worn items would greatly benefit the lodge. The access road to the lodge is in a terrible condition and is in need of attention.
I would recommend this lodge to all as it is a great place to relax and get away from everything.

We had a family holiday at Holy Loch lodge in July 2016. My wife, my 9 year old son, my 5 year.old daughter and me had a wonderful week there.

The lodge was clean and comfortable with enough good tvs to please my family when relaxing in the evening after busy days. Good quality WiFi was also a real bonus with two young children.

The location was.perfect too. Very quiet and out.of the way yet just a short walk from shop, swimming pool, play area, restaurant...and chip van!

You could easily spend your time just relaxing in the lodge however not with my young children. There is a lot to see and do very close by.
