Little Owl Barn (5* Gold ) is accessed at the front garden level and has three double bedrooms, one of which is made up for Little Owl guests (2) all with ensuite facilities. Upstairs is a galleried sitting room with bridge to a study area. The airy modern kitchen/dining room is on the entry level, as is the master bedroom. Built in 1822, Owl Barn retains many original features, but is fully equipped with 21st Century conveniences including wifi, Smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen.

This was our fourth visit to Kernock Cottages, but our first in Owl Barn. As well as our dog Solo, who we are certain thinks of Central Bark as his happy place, we brought our son along as he had a week off before starting a new job. It was also my wife's birthday the day after we arrived, so it seemed the perfect time and place for a break.
Owl Barn did not disappoint. The layout is just perfect, with bedrooms arranged across two floors so privacy is ensured, and a wonderful mezzanine level for watching television or relaxing in. There is even a glorious reading nook across a bridge from the TV area, which I used daily. The views from there, through a round window that reminded me of childhood, are wonderful, but the best views are to be had from the generous hot tub, enclosed by a secure garden, and reachable from a back door on the lower level. This was an absolute joy at the end of each day, watching the sun set and enjoying a glass or two.
Central Bark is one of the unique selling points for Kernock Cottages. The six-acre fully-enclosed space is fabulous, allowing Solo all the freedom he needs without any worries. The other unique selling point is Damian and Louise, the hosts. They are so good at looking after us, remembering even the smallest details of our previous visits and asking after members of the family they haven't even met. They make you feel like visiting friends rather than paying guests, always happy to stop whatever they are doing and have a chat. They are attentive but never intrusive, and even had a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for Ali to celebrate her birthday. The welcome pack that you receive on arrival is legendary, with amazing food from the local farm shop. Even Solo gets treats and a toy.
If you are looking for a break that has all the wonders of Cornwall on your doorstep, but with everything you need to just stay put if you prefer, you can't do better than Kernock Cottages.

Lovey accommodation, clean with everything you could possibly need.
Fantastic welcome pack for both us and our dogs
Owners very welcoming and provided lots of great information to make our stay perfect
Secure exercise area for our dogs was the icing on the cake

We had a lovely week in owl barn. Communication from owners great prior to arrival.Lovely welcome packs for us and our 2 dogs, including dog towels and throws. Damian met us on arrival and gave us great recommendations on things to see and do. The barn was well presented, and very comfortable. Everything has been thought of to make for a relaxing week. The views from the garden and hot tub were incredible, and the grounds were great for the dogs, with a large enclosed field (central bark). Highly recommend kernock cottages and we hope to go back soon.

An absolute gem! Everything you need and more for a time out! The welcome pack was really special and anything we needed Damian was there to give advice or assist, especially when our fur baby got stuck and we needed help to get her out! Highly recommend
